We waited an hour for eggs and toast. Owner only cared about Door Dash orders going out the door. Given that Courtenay has so many great casual dining places, give this one a pass. Give your business to restaurants that care about providing good service to their customers.

all the staff consist of overworked teenagers that are being treated awfully by the owners and the manager. food isn’t even nice. not worth going. staff are being asked to stop their education and work there full time. if you’re looking for somewhere to work don’t work here and if you’re looking for somewhere to stop don’t stop here

Avoid at all costs! They are awful people who own the cafe, I wouldn't want to line their pockets! Treat staff like dirt, they use teenagers to work and run the cafe but complain they arent working hard enough compared to an adult and belittle them infront of customers! If you like a hostile, bullying environment where children are scared to speak up then this is a place for you to visit! If not then avoid and tell your biker mates too!

You get what you pay for, people who are saying it's rubbish are wanting it to a 5star. It's a greasy spoon cafe with great food and prices. These places are rare nowadays and i love them. Had a bacon bap was absolutely perfect, probably best i have had in years and my partner had an egg bap and she said it was great too. Toilet facilities were good condition too & covid prevents were great too!

The quality of ingredients was shocking.... the sausage was defo 20 for a £1 out of the local supermarket freezer.... Bacon was as tough as old boots and you could probably make someone some new boots out of the 3 rashons! On the hole if it could be deep fried it was! 5.75 and I bet the cost of the raw ingredients was less than a pound.... would happily drive by starving in future! No bread or toast and instant coffee at £2 a shot... half of star would be a compliment!!!

Definitely not the best breakfast I've had, actually probably one of the worst, very cheap sausage's the bacon could be used to resole the bottom of your work boots which makes it extremely hard to cut with the cheapest plastic knives and forks I've ever used of which I went through about three which ldft bits of plastic in the good, no bread butter or toast! And the most vile coffee which I chucked into the bin with most of the £5.75 breakfast! Don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Bloody awful breakfast, sausages were cheap and looked like baby sick. As for the bacon the plastic fork kept snapping as it was so dry & salty it was as tough as old dried out sandals, could ha e repaired our work boots to re cover the steel toe cap £5.75 plus a cuppa at £2 no toast or bread n butter.Won't be stopping there on next visit to Olivers Mount.I expected better.

AVOID at all costs. We stopped off to off and had two cooked breakfasts. I don’t like fried eggs and was told I could not have any other type of egg - why I could have some scrambled egg was beyond me. We also didn’t get any toast or bread and when we asked for some was told “they don’t do toast” - I’ve never know a cafe who doesn’t do toast. The sausages were cheap and swimming in grease, the hash brown was deep fried and again very greasy. We paid £5.75 for this awful and very small breakfast and I would never go back again.

My wife and I were visiting a place nearby, so we called in, to find a lovely and pleasant place tucked away, the coffee was lovely as was the pot of tea, the food was very nice and light, home cooked quality, not plastic wrapped and from a supplier. The waitress was so pleased to serve us, and our order swiftly served. This is more of a classic truck stop, with a determined desire to deliver great quality service. Great access for the disabled, great for families, with a variety sized set of tables to use, as well as as comfy areas. Thoroughly recommend a call in.

Me and my family stopped here this morning to get a sandwich on our family day out. Pulling up we was starving, my other half ordered a bacon and sausage with Tom sauce,to take out. the waitress told him there's sauce on the tables he can put it on his self on our way out, he repeats to her it was take out, again she said put your own sauce on on your way out. I asked for well done bacon mushroom and a tom dip, told her only a spoonful don't want soggy bread. Well I should of ordered a cooking oil sandwich it was revolting instantly made me feel sick and my other half was the same the sausage was the cheapest better buy one's ever seen. I wasn't going to go back in and complain but another bite of that sandwich made me do it. Two women a lot older than me with their arms crossed had a full blown argument with me at 9am on a Sunday morning. One said they don't use oil the other said they deep fry the mushrooms I asked for my money back and they wasn't happy such rude staff really horroble women

Pulled in a late breakfast and early lunch with my young family. My son wanted just 2 slices of toast - £2.75!! I asked why it was so expensive and was told because it comes with jam or marmalade. I explained that he just wanted butter but "computer says no"! Similarly my 6 year old daughter wanted a small omelete only. I was told they wouldn't make one as it is not on the menu. To top it off I had a pie which was the local butcher's special apparently. I feel sorry for the butcher as it could have been nice but they just microwaved it leaving it soggy on the ourtside and too hot on the inside. When I asked if it was microwaved the waitress answered in scorn: "what do you expect us to do? Keep pies heated in the oven all day?". Terrible overpriced experience - avoid like the plague!! P.S. 2 bread and butter is 70p! Why charge £2 extra for toast?

Staff really friendly ,we are always greeted with a smile , can’t believe some of the reviews , we have never had a bad meal here , never had anything to complain about , so please don’t let the bad reviews put you off , go and make your own mind up

This place may proudly state how long it has been running but some modernisation would not go amiss. The car park is dusty and has cars in it that look like they are from a scrap yard. The staff were friendly, despite what other reviews say I had no complaints with the service. The food is another matter, certainly not great with coffee that tasted like instant and weak. to sum it up I would say yesterdays quality at todays prices. Having said that there was no shortage of customers - most of which looked miserable and half asleep. The toilets were another part of the timewarp - clean but outdated and worn.

Don't bother stopping at this restaurant. The food is very expensive and value for money is not offered. Maxi breakfast comes with 1 egg, tinned tomatoes and fried bread. We asked for a take away box and you would swear we asked for her soul. We were even asked why we needed a take away box. Erm, could it be to take uneaten food home, just a thought? Staff are miserable, on entering, you are not even greeted and no service with a smile at this establishment. They should also clean behind their radiators. We won't be back!

Me and sarah called in at dinner on our way to filey. £17.50 for two breakfasts one mega and one normal.Everything was done in a deep fat fryer and we are sure even the bacon was.I can handle a greasy breakfast but this was the worst I've had in 45 years on this planet.Sarah is still feeling sick this evening so had to write a review. They are using cheap muck and making tones of profit and it's not fair. You could hold the fried bread on the fork and a river of fat flowed on to the plate. Please stay away as it should be shut down.No morals.Dirty tables. What a start to a weekend break.

Needing a break and a bite to eat on our journey to the East Coast of North Yorkshire, we stopped off at Beechwood Café and were pleasantly surprised. The café was spotlessly clean, with a good selection of foods and beverages. Prices were good and the quality exceptional, for what appeared to be a "transport café". We were so impressed on the outward journey, that we stopped off again on our return one. The waitress was pleasant and the service prompt. Everything we had was freshly prepared and we would advise anyone passing by to stop off. We think you will find it worth it.

I think this is one of those places that relies on passing trade, coaches and lorry drivers who need a quick break before reaching their destination. A bit too expensive for my liking. For example, the breakfasts here, you would find elsewhere a pound or 2 cheaper. Some of the staff make you feel bad for asking them to do their job.

Went today for lunch , I decided i was having soup , they said it was the last portion so that was fine , I asked for no bread which , when it came it was the smallest half bowl of soup for £6.25 , I didn’t want anything knocking off for not having the bread but did expect a full dish, looking at the menu I could of had a small breakfast, or sandwich for about the same price , it’s soup where do they get over £6 for it!!
