Debenhams scarborough in Scarborough

Since my last visit probably a couple of years ago, the coffee shop has had a makeover and a new name, I am wondering if it is not actually run by Debenham’s. Everything was very clean and complying with COVID regulations. I had to queue to be served and waited some time, this was because the young lady serving was being very patient with the elderly couple in front of me. Everything had to be explained to them and they were very indecisive. So top marks to her. I had a good cup of coffee and a slice of apple pie. The cafe was a nice place to sit and relax.

After buying some clothes we spotted the cafe next to the department.so went in and had tea and latte,lots of choices of cakes and food,nice place to chill out on our visit to Scarborough.

Went in for a snack mid morning and it was excellent, well set out and clean. Good selection of cakes and snacks to go with the coffee. Also, very nice and pleasant staff

I would like to say a big thankyou to one of the ladies in the Scarborough store restaruant with the tattoos on her arm. She welcomed me with a lovely big smile. She was very helpful and polite and took enough time to ask me how I was and how my day has been. She then carried my tray to my table.

I am the best man for a wedding this weekend and the organising of suit fittings and timings over the last few months have been terrible! I had the final fitting on my own and it needs adjusting, no time left. “Shorten the sleeves, I’m not a gorilla” The shirt is too long. No answer ever on the phones, no one ever on suit hire service. I’m just glad it’s not me getting married through their suite hire “services”.... Luckily I worked in worked in a tailors and suit shop and was able to dictate my measurements over the phone. I didn’t get measured in store basically because no one was ever there.

Came to use my loyalty card for a free coffee while here I purchased a fruit scone and butter. The scone and coffee were nice a big improvement since my last visit. Loved the canvas pictures of Scarborough on the walls. The cafe was clean and tidy and plates were cleared after customers left. Comfortable seating.

I ordered scampi and chips when i cut the scampi in half i saw the poo sac was still in not nice and not your fault as you dont know whats in them when they come in seady to cook the girl who served me was wonderful your food has gone down since last year being a environmental health officer retired what else can i say

Called in for a light lunch, tuna mayonnaise with cucumber in a baguette, and a pot of tea. Very tasty, good cuppa too

My wife and I used this restaurant on Monday 1/10/2018 whilst having a day out in Scarborough. I asked the young lady serving if they would make me an egg sandwich without mayonnaise on brown bread. Thought I had asked for the earth. However eventually she said yes. The sandwich was very nice however made with a little bit of watercress. My wife had a baked jacket potato with tuna. The skin on the potato was rock hard and barely warm. We also had a coffee each this also was barely warm. Poor service, poor quality food not a place that we will be returning to. The store however is one of our favourites. They just need to sort out the restaurant.

Went in store for 20% sale .so thought I'd have lunch. Restaurant was quiet about 6 people in staff pleasant enough but didn't seem to know what they had left one started serving me went in the back and someone else had to finish serving me never saw other lady again ! Lovely food when I got it .dress code to be checked are black jeans allowed or is it me been out of touch with uniform all in all the food was what I came for and place was clean so well done I love Debenhams and will continue to shop there

Went for breakfast with my 4 year old grandchild , greeted with a lovely smile , really helpful staff . Hot breakfast and child’s lunchbox . Excellent would recommend . Scarborough

Went here for a sausage sandwich and a coffee after browsing the store during one of the shopping events. Store o k cafe very average with uncomfortable seating tables too close together. By the time you have got your cutlery and napkins your food is cold.

This restaurant is very convenient and a range of breakfast, coffee, and lunch items are available. The staff are very helpful ( on our visit one member of staff would not let us have the top tray as it was not considered clean enough). What the restaurant lacks is: 1 Space: the tables feel close together. 2 Open view: compared to some Debenham restaurants the lack of open aspect contributes to less than inviting atmosphere.

Great for a quick coffee stop mid morning whilst in town. The coffee was rich and strong and as usual served with a smile. Busy today but staff were quick to clear tables and help customers carry food and drinks to tables if required.

Went here for lunch yesterday. I ordered a cheese and ham pannini and a pot of tea. Cafe was quiet so served quickly. Nice quite cafe with mainly older people enjoying a drink.

Went here today for a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich and a latte. Food was average. The cafe was clean and tidy and all tables clear of dirty pots. Plenty of napkins cutlery etc. Nothing special but handy when shopping in the store. Staff pleasant.

Took advantage of afternoon cake and drink offer. Pot of tea or cup of coffee and cake. Good choice of quality cakes.

Visitar Scarborough para el día y nos dirigimos a Debenhams como siempre hemos disfrutado de la comida. Después de mirar en el menú nos decidimos por el pan plano y el pollo niños iban a tener recogida n mix - siempre popular! Nos dijeron que no nos sirven las comidas después de las 2.30, ahora era 3:00 pm. No había señales que saben esto y el personal podría claramente nos comenta la carta, pero no informarnos hasta que lo había pedido. Tres de nosotros entonces eligió paninis y fueron tomadas para tostar mientras nos dieron bebidas. Dos de los niños fuimos a la recogida y mezcla, se dijo que ya no estaba disponible, y la comida estaba lejos. No nos pidió la paninis, esperamos, mientras los niños hacían la vuelta a la esquina y McDonald's. Nos arrepentimos de no haber ido con ellos. El atún sabía a vinagre, nada más. El pollo también era insípida. No era lo suficientemente abundante en panini. El restaurante era tranquilo, lo que es inusual para debenhams, ahora podemos ver por qué.

Sólo una pequeña tienda, pero como tenía un poco de tiempo libre me decidí a ver que perfume para llegar al lado, desgraciadamente son perfumes chanel y encajados en la planta bajó un probador! No descanso Afortunadamente para mí! La señorita me dio un aspecto sucio y un tirón fuera de la planta antes de que yo pudiera siquiera moverse, ella no reconocen en absoluto. Obviamente, decidí no comprar a través de ella. Me preocupamos en mi torpeza pero ella pudo haber tenido esta venta con un comentario amable de no te preocupes accidentes ocurren, etc. claramente no una persona que parecía que la gente creo que ella era un corte por encima del resto de nosotros.

Seamos realistas, esto no es más que una cafetería autoservicio en una tienda departamental, zona muy estrecha y carece de cualquier tipo de ambiente.

On a bit of a cold and windy day nipped along to Scarborough from York for the day and into Debenhams for breakfast. I was very surprised at the amount you got for such a small amount of cash. Six items plus toast for £4.95....

Used to work in a Debenhams cafe so didn't have high expectations but this was lovely. They were still serving breakfast as brunch and it was delicious. Lovely place to sit and chat, but not too busy or expensive.

we went in for lunch there was not much choice I ask if the was anything else the member of staff was very sharp we just had a sandwich and coffee the place was very untidy dirty pots on most tables no one cleaning up

Nice shop great choise of ladies and men's clothes children's and babies the also do toys and house hold things a good all rounder

We visited for lunch whilst shopping, at around 1pm. There wasn't much of anything left, when we asked if any other sandwiches were available, we were told quite offhandedly that what was out was it. The staff also seemed to quite offhand with each other too. We did have some soup in the end which was quite nice. The cafe was quite dirty and there was food on the floor which no one seemed to be cleaning up.Not sure we will visit again.

Always good, friendly staff, Chicken curry is to die for and chicken flat bread is a close second. Chips are always as chops should be.

Debenhams restaurant is excellent. The breakfast is lovely whether you choose the hot or cold variety. The service is quick and staff polite and efficient. The restaurant is clean and the seating is very comfortable. Well equipped if you have babies or very young children, too.

Debenhams is quite big a store and great to look around and shop in. There are clothes toys food. Very clean and staff are very helpful.

Always go in here when in Scarborough. The shop is clean tidy and bright. Toilets very handy on the first floor near the self service restaurant. Always seems to be having a sale or special offers and last time we were here my husband got a Ben Sherman shirt and two pairs of summer shoes all for £70.00. Love the bathroom and bedroom linen department always lots of choice. You can also pay your credit card bill at any till which is very handy.

Called in for coffee today, intending to return for lunch (not likely).The only scones available were cheese ones and the cake selection was dreadful, I fancied the chocolate and toffee triangle, non available, so went for a slice (not very big) of very average victoria sponge.This is where things went really down hill, 3 people in front were waiting for hot drinks, coffee machine not working well at all. 3 staff were trying to get it going, while all of this going on the youngest femail staff just carried on takleing drink orders and putting them through the till.I asked for a Decaff Coffee, in the end they came to a discission that the machine was able to deliver, had to have ordinary coffee, my partner wanted a Coke, no luck at all to start with, none of the 4 cold drink dispencers were working, after a while they found that no one had switched the machine on.If thing wern't bad enough, I went to the Gents Toilet, the sit upon was taped up with a notice stating toilet out of order, try the Brunswick Centre, some comedian had writen on the notice "pathetic", I tend to agree.

Well presented in the new Arcade and friendly helpful staff. Great range of products, something to suit everyone.

Shop easy to navigate. Located in Brunswick Shopping Mall ,on main street. Lots of choice and good bargains to be had.Staff very friendly.

Its ok for a quick coffee if you are shopping but there is a huge choice in Scarborough if you want to eat...

We have had coffee and cakes here in the past so decided to try lunch. The ''specials'' board offered ''beef in wine'' . The quality was excellent, tender beef with onions and mushrooms in a sauce as good as served in a gastro pub or starred restaurant. The food surpassed what one would expect in a departmental store. The staff were friendly and efficient serving food of high quality.

Great friendly service all the staff are cheerful and helpful. Good choice of food and drink. Good choice for children too. Clean and good atmosphere. Well done to all the staff.

Visited this 'restaurant' last Friday afternoon 6 adults & 2 children so spent quite a bit of money for just a lite lunch & not one person in the party was satisfied with the quality of the meals. The Tuna baguettes were stale smelling how can anyone mess up a baguette?? Then halfway thru our meal a waitress approached & we thought great a chance to tell her what we think but she simply told us she had undercharged by 75pence for a kids drink & given that the lunch came close to £60 in total we were gobsmacked & disgusted. Won't be rushing back here in hurry Debenhams get ur act together!! Given that not one person in our party was entirely satisfied with their meal this is poor show considering we all ordered differently
