Use this pub regularly drinks at good price food reasonable for this type of pub. Comfortable surroundings, not the best weatherspoons compared to many others. Come here regularly could do with more staff.

Busy place and needs to have more staff. The staff were running around and not at their station as should have been we felt really sorry for them. Food great and guest beers kept to perfection. Struggled to get a seat because tables were not cleared quick enough because of staff issue

Very disappointing Steak special Tuesday with a side of chips. Steak was fatty The side of chips I paid extra for were few in number. 6 in fact.

For a spoons this is one of the nice ones. It does get quite busy, but it is quite well decorated and the staff seem quite friendly. A spoons is a spoons, you can't expect any more than that.

We ordered two large breakfasts and a vegan breakfast. Two large breakfast fine, but they got the vegan breakfast wrong 4 times. First Two came out with bacon and egg, then on the third time they removed both egg and bacon, but instead of cooking fresh, just removed the egg and bacon as we found bits of egg and bacon still on the plate. 4th time lucky as we sent it back again, and it finally got cooked from fresh again, this time with everything right, however didn’t add the extra hashbrowns on the vegan breakfast and some of the food was hardly lukewarm. The staff were lovely and were very helpful, however disappointed with the cooks for the vegan breakfast as it was done four times and tried covering up the bits of egg by putting the vegan sausages over it.

Fairly standard spoons across 2 floors. Toilets were unclean. Food and service was ok, however things weren't on the relevant menu, and could only be found when searching for them. 2 examples, the spinach and chickpea curry and leffe beer. OK but nothing g special

Great place, we keep going back when we're in Scarborough. Yesterday, my husband got £5.00 short in his change. Within 10 minutes, the till and receipts had been checked and his fiver cheerfully returned with apologies. Also, our chicken BBQ pizza was divine.... mmmmmm yummy

My girlfriend wanted to treat me to fish and chips sold out Ok no problem next thing 30 min later people eating fish and chips its now 50 mins later still people having fish and chips. My girlfriend went and ask why did you refused us our meal he laff and said he did not. He sould not work for a great compeny like Witherspoon.????

Worst experience of my life. I go to Wetherspoons regularly and have never been so embarrassed to be told we could not laugh and joke with friends on the evening of my 20th wedding anniversary. Our friends sang one line from abba and was told it’s illegal to sing in the pub as they did not have a licence. Absolute joke. Tried to speak to staff as we left they were not interested and no manager on site!!

Great place, food was great,came quick along with the food. Barman with the short hair and beard was nice. Forget about that Mardy woman who gave it 1 star, probably needs a shag so she can pop out another annoying child.

Standard Wetherspoons, it’s cheap, the food and drink is average and of course there isn’t much of an atmosphere. The staff are pretty good though and the service is quick.

Food was reasonably fine. Don't expect gravy though in a Yorkshire seaside town when you want chips. God forbid if you ordered bangers and mash

Visited Saturday night 🌙 ✨️. Popular and busy until 8pm. Crowds thinned out, allowing for more seating. We were lucky and had a fabulous window seat people watching paradise. watching frequent buses 🚌 arriving opposite(I'm easily entertained and I had low battery on my phone 📱 🤣). We shared the 3 small plates special, pizza, wings, halloumi fries 😋 filling and tasty. We had large lunch earlier, so this was enough for supper. Nice crowd in this spoons. No excessive noise or extreme craziness, which is always a bonus isn't it..😝

Called in for breakfast after seeing an advertisement on the door and I have to say it was amazing, bottomless coffee for a little extra. I will definitely be returning.

Spent two days in Scarborough recently, and had breakfast and two evening meals in there. Good food and choice of beer as usual!

Waiting for a train connection had 30 mins to kill so grabbed a quick drink busy period at 14.30 on both floors great drinks range and excellent prices. Quick breakfast buttie while waiting for a train station only 3 minute walk

Tables left uncleaned,not you average weatherspoons,staff nice.

Fighting through the hoards of glue sniffers, heroin addicts, spice smokers who congregated outside I was pleasantly surprised to find a rather nice clean tidy busy pub. Plenty of seating, fast service, friendly staff.

It's a weatherspoons so you get what you expect.....but the staff were really friendly and clearly worked really hard in a very busy pub ..food was basic but ok...cheap and cheerful

Chav central Oh my days, not even 10am and everyone’s getting drunk. All you can hear is constant chat about inappropriate stuff while little kids are in having their breakfast. I’ve got a huge headache after been in here for half an hour to top it off the rude staff came and stood right near our table going on about the other workers!!!! Rude!!!!! Best thing was the drinks non alcoholic hot beverages at £1.56p refillable. Probably better if I was an alcoholic and off my head like rest of them in here. Picture of the rude worker basically sat with us….. it’s rude!!!! Learn some customer service skills… your getting paid a wage to work.

It's a typical Spoons in a lovely historic building. Good food and drink at great prices. Can't go wrong really.

Food is run of the mill. But the whole meal experience was unpleasant due to folk pushing by the table looking for tables to occupie. If you took a few tables out so folk could pass by it would be much better. What a pity it is.

Food freshly cooked and good quality

Typical spoons. Exactly what you'd expect from a wetherspoons, lovely building, well decorated with lots of local art on the walls. Didn't seem as busy at the bar as most spoons, which I'll give the staff credit for as they were all alert and prompt in serving. Not so many steps to the toilets here as you'd expect either. Beer was good, food was good and some seating out the front too.

Fantastic value for money ABIT rough around the edges, good atmosphere.

The smell of urine and weed was overpowering, surprised they still have their beer or food hygiene licence. Would recommend the Scarborough Flyer instead.

It's a good spoons with a nice bar upstairs wear you look down at the bottom bar if you manage to a set near the oval over look

On the spur of the moment visit. Food was fine. Service was fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Howeever, another two guests has a small chihuahua dog. It sat on the bench chairs fine. At the end of their meal, the owner than placed the dog on the table and it licked the plates. The owner then went off to the bar, and the other guest then began to feed the dog by placing scraps on the table, and the dog ate from the surfac, standing on the table on all fours. I went off to the toilet but my wife informed me that the manager, whom had been very helpful, came to clear away the plates from our table. He saw the other guest allowing the dog to eat from the table while standing on it. And ignored it! I am a dog lover but I have never fed a dog that I have owned from the table in a bar or restaurant, let alone place it on the table and allowed it to lick plates and the table top. I have to say that the dog was well-behaved. Unfortuneately, the respect that the owner had for other people and their wellbeing was less evident. I do not think that I will be visiting this eatry again for obvious reasons.

Cheap and cheerful. Like every other wetherspoons. Could just go for coffee as well as a meal or just drinks.

Excellent weatherspoons with a surprise, the upstairs has a full bar and is as big as downstairs !!!

Went here for evening tea .Having been here a few years ago ,we were staying at the premier inn & thought it would be good to eat at wetherspoons as usually decent. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't great . The place needs a makeover & a good clean ,tables full of empty plates & the staff looked overworked . The place was busy but found a table which we cleared ourselves a staff member came over moved the plates but didn't even bother to clean it ,so ended up using wipes the wife found in her bag . I know they are busy, but come on ,food & sticky beer left behind are just common food hygiene standards . Having ordered food & and drinks, the drinks came to our table promptly, but the food was dried burnt pasta ? Sorry, Tim Martin, i know times are hard for everyone, but come on, sort this pub out ,we won't be coming back until it has .

Great food and polite and efficient staff

Upon arrival the bar area was untidy and looked like it could have done with a good clean. The table we sat on was filthy with what seemed like old food stains. The venue itself has a lot of potential, the layout is interesting.

The food is always good. The service was good. However there was drunks fighting but it got dealt with and they were asked to leave.

Popped in for a coffee ended up having buttermilk chicken burger meal ! Great service, food came quickly was hot and plenty of it, chips were excellent, chicken was crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. Lovely interior plenty of seating but not the usual great toilets Wetherspoons normally have ! Reminded me of old public/bus station toilets, not very nice, deffo need refurbishment.

Where do you start,!!. Should of known before we entered what to expect. Scruffy exterior. Very busy. With Families eating and Scarborough FC playing at home so away and home fans . You expect banter and some swearing but what I witnessed was disgusting. Not kids grown men .Management should of stepped in . Why you want to bring your family to eat in that environment God knows, pay a little extra and have a nice experience. The toilets were dirty and smelly. One Wetherspoons I won't be returning to.

Place felt not clean no proper Numbers on our table toilets really smells, food was OK but was disappointed with my beans and black pudding over cooked and sloppy

Called in for a swift one, quick bar service, and usual fair price. Ordered fish, chips, and mushy pea lunch, it was Fish Friday, but not recognised anymore on the menu, unfortunately. Served within 5 minutes hot and plentiful. Portions were all good (4 persons), and fish was large.

Food and drink are good and cheap.

I ordered the vegan katsu curry and been served this nugget-like fishy thing. I brought it up and staff apologised and gave us a refund but it's just unacceptable to order something and be served something else. The risk of cross contamination is generally high and I know it's a risk that vegans and vegetarians take when eating out, but they should really pay more attention.

The staff are really friendly, and provide quick service. We enjoy the coffee and food here, and a good view from the window tables.

I guess you get what you pay for. It does seem every time you go into a Wether spoons , the prices go up and portion size goes down. Coffee is always great value but the food was very very average at best and quite small.

Ordered a classic 8 oz sirloin steak off the Tuesday menu.the lady that took my order was great,when my food arrived I noticed the side salad was missing so I approached the bar to be confronted with grizzly Adams love child who rudely told me salad isn't on the classic steak.i double checked the Tuesday special and there it was in black and white.the point is how said love child spoke to me without checking their own menus was out of order.people may say why kick off about the salad but that isn't a reason for staff to but rude.

Poor breakfast tables never cleaned plates everywhere. Bottomless tea with jug of milk used to be bearable now you press a button it comes out like hot water and tastes like hot water.

The pub is in the middle of town, that's the only good bit about it . The toilets are disgusting, poor service , and majority of staff don't seem to want to be there. Worst spoons I've ever been in .

Didn't ear here so can't comment on food. Great drinks prices, as expected from Wetherspoons. Cleanliness not bad. Loos kind of clean but don't feel clean due to very old fashioned decor and smell of dirty mops! The place is in real need of an update!
