The Lord Rosebery in Scarborough

Use this pub regularly drinks at good price food reasonable for this type of pub. Comfortable surroundings, not the best weatherspoons compared to many others. Come here regularly could do with more staff.

One of the best Wetherspoons I've been in, fast service, lovely friendly staff too.

Been in this establishment many times when on holiday in Scarborough. It's a JD Witherspoon pub so Beers and Lager are exceptional value for money. Always a busy pub and as a result not that comfortable. Food a bit hit and miss, but good value for your money.

It's exactly what you'd expect from a Wetherspoons. We nipped in for a drink and cookie dough desserts while waiting for the numer 12 coastal bus that only runs 1 an hour. The drinks are reasonably priced. Staff were very nice but we had to wait at the bar to be served both times and the tables were dirty when we arrived. They were not the only tables that needed cleaning as well. Like I said though - exactly what you expect from a Spoons so we didn't go in there expecting anything else. You know what you are getting and you always get the same.

Went there yesterday with my older brother we had curry and San Miguel and a 🍷 for my birthday 👍

Very large pub with an upstairs floor, a lot of wood decor. Bar was busy and had to wait a little to be served. Prices are very good on drinks, never ordered any food, staff friendly!

We used the App for ordering - the service was very fast. All the staff were nice and friendly and kept the tables clean. One of the best spoons we have been in

I'm always surprised at value of the bar prices and quality of the meals.

What I particularly like about the Lord Roseberry is that it is open for an hour later as I prefer to eat my food later. I ordered my meal at 22:45 and it arrived within 10 mins. The staff were pleasant and accommodating and the venue is worth a visit.

It's a great place but not sure about cctv in the men's toilet?

A run-of-the-mill weatherspoons. You get exactly what you expect. Not terrible, not amazing. Reasonably priced, reasonable tasting food.

Ordered steak got a double and coke with it. Drinks are half the price of any other bar in town so 🤷 we love it

Few alcoholics on the ground floor, so we moved to the upper floor. It was much better, and the service was excellent.

This is a great weatherspoons, over 2 floors, with 2 bars serving at least 9 real ales. During a festival 3rds of a pint are available. Food is perfect weatherapoons quality food, you get what it says on the tin. Lovely managers and staff, ales kept really well. This is not a bish bash bosh real ale spoons. Poored with trained and to perfection. I travel 2 hours regularly for the festival here as to get real beer.

Very busy for mid week. Got a table and ordered through the app hassle free.

Nice food and drink at a reasonable price. Staff friendly and service was fine. Would happily eat here again.

A beer festival was taking place, so, I tried something different to my usual Abbott ale .

It was quite full. We squeezed at a table space upstairs, which was a win-win situation for us oldies as generally the toilets are always upstairs in a witherspoons. Service was good even though it was busy, food looked good and beer reasonably priced. In fact, we came back the next day for tea and a few beers. Recommended

You cant Go in this pub if you want to laugh and joke as customers complain to bar staff so they come and ask you to be quiet and stop laughing the whole Idea off going out is to have fun I'm truly disappointed in this

Having aholiday after entertaining a19yr.old granddaughter and a 13yr.old great granddaughter in blackpool for 2weeks.so my first visit here.they were very busy but the service was quick and cheerful and the beef madras l had was delicious..very impressed.

Just been in the upstairs bar, although it was very busy ALL the staff worked very efficiently and the service was first class!

A large Wetherspoon’s over two floors! Food and service were good and the place, including the toilets were clean. Plenty of disabled access on the ground floor, which a friend required. Would recommend for affordable dining when in the area.

Stopped in for some food before getting train home. Had their 3 small plate offer to share between 2 of us. Food was good but they brought 1 incorrectly ordered dip with one of the 3 plates which neither of us enjoyed but did not distract from the main food. Good value and beer prices excellent

Cheap and cheerful, clientele to match, the best of Scarbados!

Food was amazing but there were people smoking in the entrance.

If you want a mixer with your drink you can't have them served separately you must have it in your drink (together) . I should decide how I want it, it's in with the price. Does not happen in other wetherspoons.

Travelled over two hours for an event and wanted something quick to eat so we called here. We ordered three burgers at the bar, one being a ‘double American cheese burger and chips without salad’. When the food arrived we had asked for the table to be cleared of the previous guests dishes, we got some huffs and puffs and they was cleared away. When the food arrived the ‘double American cheeseburger’ was completely plain, no sauce no cheese. When it was questioned we was told ‘that’s what you ordered’. We advised we had simply asked without salad not sauce and cheese too. It was then argued ‘well the burger doesn’t come with salad anyway, just gherkin and red onion’. So not only was we dealing with pedantics, but attitude too. When asked about the sauce or cheese we was just told ‘you didn’t order a cheeseburger’. We had to ask for them to at least put sauce on the burger. In a place like Wetherspoons that was busy and very loud arguing over what constitutes as salad and the lack of a cheese slice is embarrassing. It took the time of everyone else finishing their meals for them to put the slightest dash of mustard and ketchup on the burger! One burger came with 7 chips. How fortunate we was. Usually at every other Wetherspoons the meal comes with a pint of soft drink, nope not here. It’s a juice glass. Overall it was a shocking experience even for a Wetherspoons. You don’t go for fine dining. But that was scraping the barrel even for Wetherspoons standards. The ‘grown adults’ with attitudes of 12 year olds didn’t go down well either. I’m sure even the crowd of people that look like they spend most of their time there would have been more polite. Will be sure to avoid this establishment next time we’re in Scarborough.

Went here for tea with the family on our first night in Scarborough as we were tired from travelling (thanks Transpennine Express!) and Spoons is usually a pretty safe bet for decent portions at an affordable price with no hassle. Impressive building from a distance but up close it looked quite run down, not helped by all the groups of drunken men stood around outside. Bouncer on the door (whose presence at 6pm was another red flag) scowled at us as we entered. Inside very dimly lit and again seemed grubby, dingy and run down. Very busy but most customers seemed to be male, definitely not a family-friendly place at all. 13yo stepdaughter was being leered at by one guy. We felt quite uncomfortable and left without ordering. Might be OK for lunch but don't take the kids here for a cheap tea. (This was a Wednesday evening so not a time you'd expect it to be especially rough / rowdy.)

Spoons rearly standard as you expect

Visited Sunday 24/08/2024 what a dump.stood at bar and was ignored by staff who were serving and when it was my turn they all disappeared.ignorant and arrogant male who I think was a manager just grunts at customers.table service staff abrupt as if they couldn't be bothered.i think if your not a regular they don't give a toss.very busy but definitely won't be back....it's not surprising Weather spoons are closing some bars if they are all like this.....if they have made a quick pound or too I would escape now ......

It's your usual spoons grub at the same prices but the pub is immaculate and the staff are great. Highly recommend it here.

Good quick friendly service. Very clean throughout. Town centre 2 minutes to station and bus stops to other popular resorts. It is a Wetherspoons.

Better than average 'Spoons'. Quite large and spacious, over two floors. Good variety of Real Ales.

Had a great breakfast with good service

Ordered via QR code and got quick and friendly service. Drinks were as expected but the food was mediocre at best. Serving sizes were generous though. Went here on a Monday noon and there was barely any place to sit.

Ordered full English breakfast. We had to wait a long time, and when the meal arrived, everything except the hash browns was cold. I sent mine back and had to wait ages again. I thought it was because they were busy cooking everything fresh, but no- when my replacement meal arrived, it was worse! Instead of cold beans, they were congealed. The bacon was stone cold and rubbery, the egg was overcooked and cold. The sausage was warm-ish! I've had a few Wetherspoons breakfasts, because they are usually good value, but this was the worst ever.

It's exactly what you'd expect. Not exactly the best spot in town, but plenty of room and quiet enough to have a catch-up with friends. Upstairs is nicer than downstairs in terms of atmosphere.

Very nice place, clean bathrooms and staff dedicated to caring for the environment. The only thing is the same problem as all pubs - poorly washed utensils.

It was exactly what I expect from a Wetherspoons.

Very busy but managed to find a table easily enough. Ordered on the app and food and drinks arrived very promptly. Staff very polite and friendly, food wad very good. Would definitely return.

Has got to be the dirtiest, thilthest, smellest weatherspoon I have ever been to, seats almost everyone were stained with who knows what, and the stench was unbelievable, tables were covered with food debris and sticky residue of beer and dirt and everything else, that by the looks of it were from days ago, absolutely disgusting atmosphere, I would not ever go back there even if they paid me too.

Kids love going here they andy self love the food when eaten here and the staff have been very nice .x

Why can't they tell you beer is not available!? 8 pumps but 3 were off and the one I chose was cloudy (unintentionally). But the manager said it was fine. Non-hazy ale should be clear. I know it's a 'spoons but this one didn't meet expectations.

Great wetherspoons , very efficient staff never seen so many cleaning tables, food drink reasonably priced , staff friendly, if say this is one of the nicest cleanest Wetherspoons I’ve been too and look forward to returning

Luke is a legend, he has all the good for a company could want. Literally protecting the company and respectful to customers.

Nice food, but bar staff member wasn't bothered when I mentioned about the state of the table. I did find a young lady who did come and clean the table and mess but she didn't seem to be helped by anyone else and she seemed shocked by a positive response by myself when I thanked her.

Typical spoons. Great ales, IPA's, and craft beers. Best experience is on a night when new staff are on as they are less jaded and depressed

It's a wetherspoons...there is a cap on quality but a lower one on price

Alright if you like to drink not recommend for food long wait times and won't do things on menu like other local spoons so walked out went somewhere else
