The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Commented on Facebook page that service was poor and they instantly deleted it and blocked me. Complete joke and unprofessional. NOT the way to treat customer feedback. 4 of us been most Fridays for last year or so and service has been shockingly poor. Last week turned up at 4pm and it was shut. Week before girl behind the bar was on her own, never worked in a bar before, zero training and despite trying her best, couldn’t cope, didn’t even know a jigger had 2 measures poor lass. Extremely poor way to run a pub and deleting constructive criticism even worse. Won’t be going again, rather spend our cash with someone that cares. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss. It will be under new management for the umpteenth time yet again real soon no doubt.

Randonly open and closed. I think it has been taken over privately from the brewery. Open when it should be closed, closed when it should be open. Very strange. Its like someone operating it like their own living room. Beer ok, but the lines aren't used regularly so beer has that weird drain smell. No one came in when I was there.

We didn't eat here but it looked very nice, with great sea views whilst enjoying a pint in the sun, would recommend.

Please save you money absolutely disgusting breakfast. Two small breakfast one cup of tea as it’s £3 for one tea so £20 all in but omg the breakfast was disgusting cold and the sausage was just awful and to top it all all we could smell was fish that they must of been cooking . Needless to say we left it all . Must be one of the worst breakfast we have had

Pre booked snug for family birthday of 8. Was great. Table service. Promptly served. Food was delicious. 8 different meals delivered together. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend and will be returning ourselves regularly

Bra fitting service. My sister and I had a bra fitting on Tuesday. The two ladies who looked after us couldn't have been any better. They put us at ease and suggested styles, so pleased we booked. We bought 8 bras between us, in our correct sizes. Thanks

We called in on a hot day. We sat outside on the balcony upstairs with a view of the river. We had some ciders and got burgers and chips. Delicious food, chips were rather expensive but tasted great.

Me and my wife often enjoy the value menus, but on this occasion we tried your new pizzas they were really nice and not badly priced for a sit down restaurant

Good selection of dishes on the menu Weill presented and cooked food, all our dishes were very tasty Friendly and professional waiter Warren helped make the evening enjoyable

We celebrated my husband 60th birthday with family a great place to eat. We were allowed to bring balloons for tables and cake. We were put in a room on our own which was cosy and better for the family. The chefs were fun and friendly the food was excellent. Our young server was amazing making sure we were ok making sure we had everything we needed. So a brilliant place to celebrate my husband birthday.

Carver Harry cut me some beautiful slabs of fatty marbled pork and beef and Server Charlotte provided wonderful table service and help with getting all the vouchers to work in the app.

What a lovely warm welcomeing pub.It was very cold but lovely and toastie in the pub.Staff were really lovely and friendly.Food looked great and our pizza was also fab.

Excellent food as usual and the service was outstanding considering we were a bit of a nuisance with one of us being an hour late because of road works. We meet here a few times each year as it’s halfway between where we both live and every time we are delighted we choose the Kestrel. Special thanks to Emma who fabulous and very patient

We have always been a massive fan of this restaurant but recently it seems to of gone down hill. My partner order a burger that was no smaller than a child’s meal (not like the pictures you see online) the waitress did return and swap for an alternative meal but that wasn’t great either. Both myself and my friend ordered the caramelised steak ciabatta which was dreadful. The bread was so dry and hard. The manager did knock £5.85 off the bill but I don’t think this justifies how shocking the meal was. I would not recommend this place to any friends of family. Which is a shame as we eat here regularly.

Not what it used to be. I think before Covid lockdown this place used to be amazing and it was always busy but over the past few years it’s really gone down hill and slipped in quality. Visited with family however were told on arrival “no burgers and no hunters chicken” - fair enough so we all ordered some of us changing choice due to this. After ordering and while waiting for the food the waitress returned to tell us that there were now no triple cooked chips and we would instead be getting french fries. I can’t lie this was again disappointing… how can a place who has triple cooked chips on most meals not have any? The French fries were literally frozen but deep fried… it really let the meal down. Fish was exceptionally greasy and oily. It’s a real shame this place honestly used to be incredible, one of the best places locally but it’s just not worth the price anymore. The service isn’t brilliant the waiters used to have a vast knowledge and you felt well looked after.
