Terrible atmosphere. Basic drinks. Tacky screens and music. Not even cheap. Hopefully one day it’ll be turned into a nice pub.

Myself & my parents had just finished dinner at the Ranmoor Tandori and thought we'd pop for some drinks afterwards and ended up making this one drink and leaving asap. When we walked through the door the man behind the bar and 3 customers stood at the bar (the only people in the pub) all turned to look at us as if to say "you aren't regulars", it felt like a really cold un-welcome! Due to the other customers standing around part of the bar, we couldn't properly see what beers were on so my dad asked what was on to get the response "whatever is on the pumps is what we have on.." Once we got our drinks and sat down it felt like we'd walked into someone's living room uninvited and that the man behind the bar and other customers would prefer that we weren't there often looking over and staring at us. Safe to say your plan worked...we won't be back ever and just head a bit further down the road to somewhere else!

First visit here for maybe 30 years, it will be at least that long until I return! No welcome at all from the man serving at the bar. He served other people whist serving us, hardly necessary when there were only 12 people in the pub including our party of 3. I had Farmer's Blonde and it was the worst pint of that I have ever had anywhere. I left half of it. The man serving was blocking our view of the crisps so we asked what flavours they had. He just pointed at them and muttered something unhelpful. We only went because the Rising Sun was absolutely packed. My advice would be to go there instead!

Under new management thank goodness. Heather and Nigel have gone and the friendly atmosphere has returned. Welcome back Bulls Head we missed you. Keep up the good work 😀

16th Jan 2022 Nice it's gone retro, no screens, disco, karaoke or over loud music last night. Great pint of Landlord, and at last a local pub where we can speak to each other without shouting.

The Bulls Head is a traditional pub in Ranmoor, now under new management. It's sparkingly clean, lively with music, warm and welcoming and Pelican Reviews wish the new management all the best. The staff were very friendly and there appears to be a selection of new beers on tap, e.g. Madri from Spain. The new team are just settling in, literally taking beer deliveries today! Bottles beer was available to take out and we look forward to a return visit over the Christmas holiday.

My friend and I called in here for a coffee ☕ & with our coffee we got a free piece of delicious Carrot cake 😋. V Made us very welcome

Nice place which is perfectly fine to drink in (only ever been when outside or very quiet inside - don't know what the place is like in full swing) but ate there for the first time the other day and wasn't impressed. Pizzas topped with pure tomato puree as opposed to sauce (bit inedible after 3 slices really), burnt fries, missing items that the waitress just looked a bit perplexed over then quietly walked away and stale burger buns which were taken away and brought back by hand - no taking the actual plate away - which was odd to say the least. Wouldn't eat there again but I'd still stop for a quick drink.

Such a shame. The food and drink was nice but the meal was ruined by a table of people swearing in earshot of my kids. The landlady was with them which was disappointing. I don't think this would have happened in any of the other local pubs

Sarcastic and hostile landlady made our group feel extremely unwelcome and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. I do not feel it was necessary to get a dog out to intimidate us either. Shame as the décor is nice and the bar staff helpful but completely ruined by a rude owner who appeared to target us from the moment we arrived. I support local businesses but would not recommend supporting this one.

As a university student during Covid I was really looking forward to meeting my professor and classmates at the pub for an end of exams drink however the Bulls Head really ruined any plans we had of that. Absolutely horrible experience, there were rude notices on the table explaining COVID rules. As soon as I joined my party we were treated with a very hostile attitude and I felt completely uncomfortable and out of place. I completely agree with previous comments suggesting racism from the landlady, her demeanour made us feel like we were all being told off by a teacher rather than welcome as guests. Eventually she brought out her dog and husband and bullied us into leaving. Despite this, very appreciative of the bar staff who tried to help us in the situation. Would definitely not return or encourage anyone to give them business.

The setting and lay out could be really nice. But no stars because it's run by a massive racist. Avoid at all costs there are so many lovely pubs in the city and you don't have to worry about giving your money to an overt racist and tory. Racist slurs aren't a good look

Been in a few times for drinks. Pints about £3-£4, decent prices. Maybe lacking a bit of atmosphere due to covid but staff always really pleasant.

A pleasure to return to the Bulls Head yesterday evening. We hadn't book in advance, but staff very accommodating, friendly and looked after us throughout our visit. Thank you.

I asked one of the staff members if I could order a drink as she was at the table next to us, dropping off some drinks, (this was before last orders was called) she said no, because she was going home? Didn't even get another member of staff, just buggered off, came back with other people's drinks afterwards? 😂😂

This is a lovely Sheffield pub that has made the effort to adapt to covid rules. It has sheltered, heated outside seating. I enjoyed it and the staff were chatty and relaxed.

The effecientsy of service during covid is much better than anywhere else around, getting drinks are easy so is paying,they struggled a little with the discounted meal deal but the food was lovely

Recently went here wont be going again, the atmosphere was awful due to the landlady she was drinking and smoking all night also swearing and shouting at people to get out the pub because they hadn't booked a table but they didn't realise they had too because there are no posters up to say so,she was shouting and bullying her bar staff for no reason they were nice girls trying their best ,she was nasty them( probably the drink) horrible woman.

Has a GET WELL BORIS sign up so can absolutely get in the bin.

We visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. We immediatly felt welcome & at home. The food & service was 1st class. The only downside is its difficult to park, but that wouldnt put me off going back.

We bought tickets for the New Year Party. To say we weren't made to feel welcome would be an understatement! When we arrived no-one was on the door so we walked in and went to the bar. After several very obvious discussions about us (rather than with us) a (drunk) member of staff came up and told us it was a ticket only event. I pointed out we had tickets! Another member of staff then came up and told some members of our group they weren't appropriately dressed for the event even though other customers were wearing similar outfits. We'd brought guests from outside Sheffield so were very embarrassed and had to explain this wasn't a good example of Sheffield hospitality. We live locally so put up with the noise from the pub, the litter and the parking issues On that basis, the least they could do is make us feel welcome at our local pub at New Year!

We always call in here before we go for a curry as it's virtually next door. This place as got better it's always busy plenty of choice on beers and lagers. And for the area this place is the drinks are really reasonable prices.

I was served by Rhian, she was extremely friendly and helpful, the chicken Caesar salad was absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced. Also had a latte with a complimentary slice of cake!! Thank you Rhian for making my visit very enjoyable you’re an asset to the pub 😊

Llamamos a tomar algo antes de nuestro curry y fue la final de la Liga de campeones. Nunca había visto un pub tan ocupado que el ambiente era eléctrico. La comida que se servía se veía increíble, hacen una pizza fresca, se veían realmente bien. Definitivamente vamos a probar una comida aquí.

This pub was a really nice surprise. We were just passing through on our travels today and we wanted a coffee and a bite to eat . It looked inviting and clean .from the outside . And it also was on the inside . We will definitely visit again .

Good seating areas and tables if you want to eat. I had a meal off the snack time menu, which was very good. Decent selection of ales, beers, coders etc.

Had a really lovely evening with family at the Bulls Head. We are local to this pub but haven't been going here enough lately. The food was absolutely fantastic and at 2 pizzas for a tenner, amazing value. The pizzas were cooked to perfection with delicious toppings. There were 5 of us so we ordered 6 pizzas and took one away! You would struggle to get a shop bought pizza for the same value and I can say we all thoroughly enjoyed these. Excellent beer. The open gate pilsner and citra both nice and they have well kept cask beers too. Great atmosphere and staff really friendly. Cant wait to go back!! Oh... and it's dog friendly too! :-)

Surprisingly nice little pub. From the outside with all the flags in the window we had the impression that it was going to be full of stereotype football lager louts but we went in for an early dinner for our little one and found it to be actually really nice. No football hooligans, bar staff nice and friendly, decor was nice inside, prices were very fair, it was just a nice cosy little pub. The main menu is quite small but that's not really a negative for us but could be for others. They do have a big pizza menu though. Can't comment on the quality of the main dishes, we only had a some nuggets and chips for our daughter which were nice. Overall a nice pub, be great if you are local

We really enjoyed our first visit to this pub. The burgers (both meat and veggie) were delicious- and huge!- and great value for the quality. The beer range seemed good, I was really happy that they had Bradfield Belgian Blue. The atmosphere was nice, with screens for sport and friendly other patrons- we had a long, interesting chat with a couple of blokes.

Good pub doing better under the new management. Serving local brewed ales as well as. the national brews the main downside is it has not got a car park otherwise well worth visiting

I went to the Bulls Head with family this weekend. As I'm not local to the area I asked them where we should go for drink and they mentioned this place. I had already read the reviews which are mixed at best but decided to give the place a go as I had heard the food was nice and it was really about spending some quality time with family before I went back home. As soon as we entered the pub there was a definite atmosphere. We approached the bar and ordered drinks. The bar staff looked at us like we had asked them to rob a bank, not serve us drinks. We then asked if food was being served and got another abrupt response. There was a woman sitting drunk at the bar who also scowled at us which was rather unnerving as we only wanted a drink, not to feel like we were an inconvenience. As we went to find some seats a young man entered the pub and approached the bar. The woman, got up off her seat and shouted "F*CK OFF" several times in his face. I don't know who was more shocked, us or him! She then resumed her scowling on her bar stool. I was then informed by my relative that this lovely woman was in fact the landlady of the pub. We decided to swiftly down our drinks and take our custom elsewhere. A nice pub spoilt by its awful staff and intimidating atmosphere, plenty of other places to go where your custom will be appreciated.

La primera vez que visitamos el hotel desde la reforma del pub es muy agradable por dentro, muy elegante pero, en mi opinión, estaba bien antes.Sólo decepción fue el ignorante. No sonreirás. Barman. Me vio parado en el bar, pero continuó apilando estantes.Fui de un lado a otro tratando de llamar la atención, pero él simplemente me ignoró. Finalmente, se me sirvió no sonríe tan ignorante.Es un pub encantador y fue el más concurrido que he visto, solo me decepcionó el smiler detrás del bar.

Went in on a sunday night and was very impressed with the new decor after not visiting for a while. Got talking to the new landlady who was telling me bout the new food menu which is being launched soon. Good selection of local beers on handpull and decent range of lagers aswell. Smoking area/beer garden is a hiden secret gem. Plenty of tvs for sport to be shown. Overall a lovely pub and will definetly be returning for a homecooked sunday roast.

Very odd experience. Why they are catering for a handful of people with 'disco's I will never know. It was tragic to see. Lots of friends and family would visit if it wasn't for these random events. Ruined what should have been a great refurbishment

We had no expectations when we went for a meal on Friday. Ordered pizzas and drinks. Lovely food and staff but it wasn’t until one member of the party went to toilet after we had eaten we found out about the free drink offer. When we queried it it was a case of “Tough luck. You need to order it with the food.” But the is NO information anywhere but in the toilet about it. Felt undervalued as customers. They did offer later but we were leaving, such a shame.

Very dismayed to find this once excellent local traditional pub has been themed into a trendy 'sports bar' type venue. Lost all its atmosphere and charm, and seems to have forgotten that it is positioned in the very quiet suburb of Ranmoor, not the trendy Ecclesall Road type of area. Doesn't seem to have much idea about its demographic at all, so not expecting this to continue in its present form for too long

We bought drinks and asked for the menu - only pizzas on a Friday. So we ordered pizzas. After eating we bought another drink. Just before leaving I went to the toilets where there's a notice saying "Free drink with pizza on Fridays". I asked about it and was told "You have to order the drink at the same time as the pizza." I pointed out that there's nothing on the menu or on the tables or any notices about the offer and no-one said anything about it when we ordered the pizzas. Basically was told "tough luck". Atrocious way to treat customers. Told someone who was about to order pizza that they could have a free drink - they knew nothing about it either - so at least someone got one of the Bull's Head's elusive "free drinks".

Called in on Saturday to watch the champions league final, the place was very busy... as I approached to the bar to order food and drinks, the waitress shouted who is next? The gentleman next to me said after you, as I was waiting before him... I said to the waitress me! I’m the next one to be served... and the waitress said or better she screamed NOT YOU!!you’re to far back, just wait your turn... the gentleman that was next to me said how rude she is, obviously she can’t cope with the pressure... eventually after waiting a bit longer... I ordered burgers and drinks... the food was good, but the waitress spoiled our night out by mean so rude... my advice is to be more respectful with your customers otherwise this pub will close down once again for whatever’s reason it is...Just a tip. Thanks

Acaban de empezar a hacer cenas los domingos aquí. Visitamos y no nos decepcionó. Buena calidad de comida y barato. 3 causas por alrededor de 13 libras. Comí carne mezclada y vino con pollo, que fue excepcional.

Cuatro de nosotros llamamos para unas copas antes de nuestro curry. Es un pub encantador, un personal amable y una buena selección de bebidas. La camarera me informó su cierre en enero para una reforma completa, no por eso es un pub moderno y limpio.

El sábado fuimos en primera vez desde año nuevo para encontrar el pub había estado cerrada por un tiempo y estaba ahora bajo nueva dirección. Es un pub donde sirven muy buena cerveza, con una gran variedad de bebidas. El personal del bar es muy amable me tuve una buena charla con la chica del bar que informó del menú opciones de comida y sin duda nos tratando la comida aquí.

La decoración es moderna y de buen gusto, el servicio rápido y amable, y las bebidas variadas. También hay comida para las tardes tempranas, que siempre es buena. El cordero era excelente.
