The Riverside in Sheffield

Went for 7pm.nice staff.great food.big portion size.only thing is we would have stopped all night but couldn't hear yourself think with music,went outside and still couldn't do our year once of year catch-up.so off to fat cat.

Beer was spot on but Ordered fishcake butty and chips, fishcake was raw in the middle . Got refunded so not an issue but won't be back.

Another superb trip to the Riverside. A proper pub serving great food and a choice of 4 cask ales plus craft beers, lagers and coffee.

This place doesn't accept disabled people. Stay away if you have any heart. Was not allowed in because I have arthritis and cannot walk. I need a wheelchair and crutches but tried a night without and the bouncer decided I was too drunk. First time ever I faced this discrimination. Will never go here again

We visited this place to meet a friend. There is some limited parking on the road outside which is free parking, which we managed to find a space. We had booked a table which the deposit was used towards the meal. You have to order food and drink at the bar. The place seemed quite quiet when we went in, there isn't a kids menu on Sunday. For a drink I had a pint of 'Stones' which was nice and would have it again. For food I had the roast of beef top side which was nice, plenty of gravy which was good to see and a good portion size plate. We also ordered extra sides, the roast potato's were nice cooked in 'beef dripping' the only issue was they were too hard and crispy which made eating the outside of them difficult as well as cutting them. The cauliflower cheese was ok. You can get 3 sides for £10 otherwise it is £4 each. The food the other people in the party had was ok however the '3 meat roast' Sunday roast that one person had, the meat wasn't the best and had to be leave them due to taste not right and tough. Overall the location is good, parking can be difficult so walking a long way is likely. The decor is good. The drink is good and the food is mostly good from what we experienced but could be improved upon. The price is reasonable. The staff seemed friendly. Note there is also a 'licenced sex shop' within here.

We booked the snuggle room for my best friend's birthday Sunday lunch. A prepayment deposit had been taken in advance. Very limited car parking around, but we managed to find one. Staff were alright, made foods and drinks order at the bar. We ordered beef topside, brisket, and three meats sunday roasts plus £10 for 2 sides. Beef brisket and beef topside were super tender and wonderfully tasted as cooked fresh. However, the three meats roast plate was way too disappointed as the stuffing was cold, pork belly slightly sour and tasted not right, gammon not tasty and the beef thick cut was so dried. I regretted ordering that plate. I left the whole plate of meats. Wedges potatoes cooked in beef dripping was hard outter unpleasant to eat. All in all, some good and some bad. Please don't serve customers where meats you were unsure or not freshly cooked.

We had an absolutely amazing meal here. We've been searching for a place that serves a great roast dinner, and we finally found it! The food was delicious, and we will definitely be coming back. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the fact that the place is very dog-friendly was a huge bonus for us. Highly recommend!

Excellent Venue, one of Sheffield's many gems

Had a great pub meal and a good selection of beers. The service was good and at a fair price. Went on a Thursday and just turned up. Managed to find a table.

Went in for lunch. My wife had ordered a sharing platter which was absolutely delicious. It consisted of flat bread, olives, sun dried tomatoes, hummus, stuffed vine leaves, salad and calamari. Now, I like calamari a lot. And I’ve eaten plenty of it in my time. But this calamari was the best I’ve had. Great value for money. Will definitely go again for lunch. Prior to this visit, I’d gone in on nights out and always had a great time. So, I recommend that too. Plus it’s a great location.

Great location, back deck overlooking river. Pina Colada was lovely as well. Food was a letdown and certainly not value for price. Ordered a med salad bowl. No falafel so got the calamari. Several listed items were missing including salad dressing and calamari was very salty.

Good food, they also have half price burgers every Monday. These are good quality and large portions. Beer selection is good, they also serve 'Stones' on draft if you fancy an old style Sheffield beer.

Great location. Trendy / youngish crowd. Great in the summer sun.

Nice and chilled atmosphere. Unfortunately not a lot available on the menu and still on a frustrating online ordering system which doesn't offer descriptions for all the items. However food was really lovely - would like to come back and try Sunday dinner. UPDATE: Very lovely staff and good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Menu is good however it is pricey for the food quality.

One of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had, at a good price too! Really friendly atmosphere with friendly attentative staff. Very comfortable seats. A good selection of beers and wines. All in all, a very happy experience!

Good ambiance and good location, nice staff, good portion of food. The pie and sandwich tasted very good, mash and peas were a little bit too salty for my taste, otherwise good experience. Highly recommend.

Exploring Kelham while visiting my daughter. Dropped in for a drink and liked the look of the menu so much, we stayed for tea. Although we would like to try the Greek dishes, there is a pie offer on Tuesdays, so my wife and I both opted for Steak and Ale Pie with chunky chips. The pie, chips and gravy were superb - (5 stars). They were let down by the over-salted mushy peas (1 star), which would also have been excellent had it not been for the excessive amount of salt added. Nice beer garden, friendly and efficient service. Will definitely be back for food and drinks.

The welcome was very dull, tried to engage with bartender but got nothing back from him, 2 other what seemed to be staff just sat at end of bar. Drink was nice, didn't eat food as it seemed way too expensive. Overall safe to say I won't be returning or recommending

Great family meal in upstairs room . Staff were really attentive and made sure we had everything wanted. Food was fresh and well cooked. A few of us had the flatbread, a meze board and fish and chips ,all really tasty

I have been wanting to go here for a while, and it did not disappoint. Staff were lovely and quick service, and I felt at ease here. Vegetarian options are available, and the burgers are 50% off on Mondays! Really good chips, although for the size of the meal, I don't know if I would pay full price for it. Has a good view and quiz nights.

Been here a couple of times for a quick after-work drink. It's always buzzing, plenty of outdoor seating too and friendly staff.

Had lunch here after a morning walk round the city. Ordered the Oven Baked Pork Kleftico. Lovely, tender with slight crispy skin.; paired with ale..heavenly.

Nice pub with a good range of beers close to the Don river. This place is very nicely positioned by the river with outdoor seating, to make the most of the summer heat, while we have it. The only downside is the slightly noisy road beside it. But is a friendly, comfortable place to visit.

Visited this Pub/Bar several times and it's in a great setting by the river with an excellent range of beers and drinks. Highly recommend you try it for an evening out

The burgers were not home made probably the worse burger iv had I’m not a fan of McDonald’s but there better true north brewery u need to sort ya food out it’s expensive and it’s really bad I will not be eating with you again I truly waisted my money today and you should be making a great burger but you are using pants bread and bought in burgers not home made stuff what’s wrong with u it’s not hard to make a homemade burger with a good cheese 1 crap rasher of rubbish fatty bacon and a crap cheese slice shame on you !!!! Flat bread wi pork was lumps of fat not home made terrible made me sick shame on you riverside 🤮🤮🤮🤮 Good pint but do not eat there

2 burger orders were undercooked/raw and my friend, who is Coeliac, was served a gluten brownie. Our group of 4 had gone here yesterday for their pub quiz, and while there 3 of us ordered burgers. My burger was fine, but unfortunately my friend and her boyfriends burgers were both red raw and cold to the touch. The burger buns were also soggy, which made eating the burgers themselves difficult. We decided regardless to order desserts, with me and my Coeliac friend ordering brownies. As with her burger, a member of staff announced which was the gluten free item, while placing it down in front of my friend. We noticed as we were eating that hers had a biscuit layer on the bottom, while mine didn't- though we trusted that she had been served the correct brownie. Around 15 minutes after eating the brownie, my friend began feeling ill and having symptoms of eating gluten. Overall disappointed with the experience, which is a shame as I have eaten here before with family and had no issues.

Food is delicious here, the pies are some of the best I've had. A great selection of drinks with friendly and helpful staff. There is a rentable room here which is a great size for a smaller gathering.

Great pub located by the edge of Kelham on the river. Super atmosphere in the winter or summer. Really good selection of drinks and their homemade scotch eggs are insanely good.

Really good real ales, brewed in Sheffield. We had the Stones Bitter and the Duck Baffler. The roast beef ciabatta sandwich was really good. Lots of beef.

Decent selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere. Food looked nice but I only ate crisps, Which I can recommend.

Visited The Riverside recently for a Christmas lunch with friends, what a disappointment that was. The food was distinctly average, and overpriced and were some of the drinks, the atmosphere was lacking. Definitely won’t be going again

I arranged a work meeting at The Riverside and it was great service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for Assistant Manager Kieron and the pies are amazing! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return!

Had food from the Greek stand and I have to say the meat was lacking in appearance it's was all salad. Disappointed. Great atmosphere though.

Busy pub with lots of rooms/ spaces for differing groups. Despite it being busy, service at the bar was really prompt. Didn't eat.

Beer selection was good the service was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was a little quiet but it was early in the evening. Worth a visit.

Went on a Tuesday night as I love this pub. It was quite late but we were the only people there. That said service was great and beer excellent 👌

We booked the BBQ for a 30th birthday. All of us wanted to thank the fantastic kitchen team who stayed outside with us cooking food in the rain and serving our food we really appreciated the time and effort that went into it. The food was incredible and very good value for money. All the bar staff were very helpful, making delicious cocktails, even a not so delicious one as requested for the birthday boy, all the bar staff were fab. Music and atmosphere was buzzin yet felt safe and friendly too. Overall an amazing night was had and this was all thanks to Riverside. Will definitely be booking another occasion with them soon!

Great food and beer biggest chips I have ever had

Held our daughter's 30th here. Matt, Sarah and the team went above and beyond to make the event a memorable one. We chose the pie and peas menu for our 40 guests....a real winner and everyone complimented the food very highly. It was hot, very tasty and arrived on time. Nothing was too much trouble right down to to smallest detail. I highly recommend The Riverside if you are planning a 'get together'. Thank you Matt and Sarah.

Great places to have a drink and friendly

Recently hosted a birthday party at the Riverside, for which we booked one of the private rooms including catering. A fabulous time was had by all, with everyone raving about the delicious food (pie and chips!) My mum did the lions share of pre-organising and she couldn't sing the staff's praises enough - really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Party went off without a hitch and it was great that we could offer guests drinks vouchers as well as food, really nice set up for parties and it worked well. Special thanks to Matt and Sarah for their hard work in getting everything sorted and making sure the evening was one to remember.
