Rude surly staff; asked for a simple bear mat after getting my bear topped up and her response was “do you expect me to drink it for you as well”… Was going to bring my company here for a celebration, but not after that response…

A really cracking spoons tbf! Lush outdoor seating area with a lovely view over green space. I’ve given it a four star because I do feel the service could be a little friendlier but it’s a spoons so it’s honestly great for this chain. Also - be careful of the parking!!! I got a fine because I forgot you have to sign in, at the bar!!! I got disc reacted by the snacks! It’s SUPER easy to forget and the charges are VERY EXPENSIVE so do be aware!!!!

Perhaps one of the better Wetherspoons, set in green surroundings on the classier side of the city. But it's still a 'Spoons... with so-so food and a slightly careworn feel. Younger members of the family like it for a cheap meet-up but it's not my kind of pub. Beware the car park which has an ANPR camera - you MUST register immediately on arrival or risk a hefty fine from the car park operator.

Simply substandard . I had the mixed grill and they didn't even ask me how I wanted the steak. I understood when it came- everything was an overcooked reheat. All the meat was overdone- to nearly leather standards I leaned a life lesson today, always wait early evening until the evening chef has actually started working. No professional chef should ever allow meat like mine out of his kitchen.

The Francis Newton is the only pub in the world named after a master cutler. Probably. Francis Newton cuttled and he cuttled good. He cuttled like no man had ever cuttled before. The cuttling paid off handsomely, like cuttling had never paid off before. And what better way to pay homage to the cuttlemeister than to have Wetherspoons take over the pub and fill it with the cheapest cutlery know to mankind. Cutlery that can never appear totally clean, knifes that are barely sharp enough to cut butter and forks than bend like a sapling in a hurricane. Traditional breakfast were ordered and we settled in with a coffee while we waited for the feast to appear. It soon did via the friendly staff and we put the fusty looking cutlery to use... The food was what you expect in any Wetherspoons establishment. Toast, bacon, egg, sausage, beans, it was all there. None of of it particularly hot, but warm enough to be acceptable. The bacon could have done with a few more minutes of cooking, it was pinker than a gay pride parade. The sausages were rock hard, so to speak. Hash browns hotter than a Chernobyl reactor went down a storm and beans with a only a fine film of skin on the servings complimented the brekkie nicely. Sachets of HP sauce were generously dumped on the food and we scoffed the meal hungrily. It was OK, nothing fabulous, but very nice for the price. Francis would be utterly ashamed of the cutlery though...

I called into the Frances Newton with some workmates for breakfast while working in Sheffield. It's the second time we've been and the experience was the same both times. I ordered from the app, the breakfast was served reasonably fast, but on both occasions they had forgotten about my cup of tea. When we have been to other Wetherspoons the drink is brought out first, but not here, they don't bring you your drink, just a cup, and because they forgot about it, I had to get up and leave my breakfast to go cold while I went and fetched my own tea. Not exactly ideal. Also I think they must count the baked beans as they put them on your plate, it is a very small portion compared to other Wetherspoons. Would I go again? Probably yes. But if your planning a visit, don't expect the same experience as most other spoons.

Wetherspoons pub with it's own car park. If you get the parking code from the bar you can park for free while you visit. The staff were friendly and pointed out everything we needed to know and we took a table in the ample seating area, I went for the large breakfast and refillable tea at appox £8.00 The breakfast consisted of Bacon, Hash Browns, Sausage, Mushroom, Eggs, Beans and Toast. It was well cooked and presented okay so no issues there until my son arrived later and had the same breakfast. On his breakfast he had two rashers of bacon rather than the one I had, on mentioning this to my wife she stated that I should have had two also. Anyway it has not put me off. The only other issue was was that the stalls in the toilet had no internal knob on the door so you could not lock it, if the only other stall is out of action then you're up the proverbial creek without a paddle. The rota on the wall stated the toilet had been checked hourly so they must've known about the issue. 4/5.

Weatherspoons always feel full of character and really quite varied the building itself is well kept and comfortable with both indoor and outdoor seating. Bit hard to fully balance the benefit of cheapness with the feel that the food is all fresh from a microwave. Most certainly true that you know what you're getting and no surprises, but, even so, the somewhat limp, unsatisfyingly cheap bacon is hard to enjoy even knowing what you're going for. Still - satisfies an appetite. A few tables dotted around with old plates and used glasses on, made finding a seat a bit of a maze, but the staff member was quick and helpful when we asked for a table to be cleared for us.
