Had a lovely Sunday lunch at Three Horse Shoes. We chose to have a selection of 3 meats and they were all tasty and the Yorkshire puds were amazing. Would recommend and will be back again.

Fantastic traditional pub. Friendly welcome, good range of drinks and delicious food. We had Sunday lunch but could have chosen from the extensive menu of traditional pub meals which sounded very tempting. The lamb shank Sunday dinner came with all the trimmings and the beef was tender and tasty. Massive Yorkshire pudding. Desserts were gorgeous. Great friendly service with a smile and lovely Yorkshire hospitality! Comfortable traditional pub just how they used to be. Don’t change!!

Visiting the area, and decided to try this local pub. Friendly lady on the bar welcomed us, asked if we were having food, and indicated we could sit anywhere. It was busy, but the fire was roaring, the place was very clean, and the music was seasonal. We ordered fish and chips, and I was taken aback at the whale on my plate, gorgeous extra chunky chips, and mushy peas. The side of bread and butter was fresh and delicious. The meal was excellent and beautifully cooked . The lady, herself serving, was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Had to have a dessert (obligatory!), and again all very tasty and presented nicely. If we find ourselves back in Oulton again, we are coming back to try some other treats from The Three Horse Shoes.

I booked here to celebrate 2 birthdays o Saturday 16th . A few of us arrived twenty minutes early and ordered drinks , a few more arrived and ordered drinks . As we were waiting for the rest of the party the waitress came over and said we can't make anything from the grill section on the menu. There are gas works on the road outside and the gas was off ( the gas works have been there a while ) I asked why they didn't ring me and she didn't know . I asked why they hadn't told us on arrival but she didn't know. This put a damper on the evening. The food we got was alright but not really what we wanted.

A quiet Thursday lunchtime and only a few customers so atmosphere doesn't really count, though music was a bit loud it was turned down for us. The food was very good with the fish and chips, houlumi burger and beef burger all getting a thumbs up. Desserts equally good. Service with a smile, so all good on this visit

From the start, nice girl shown us to a table, (the table had nothing on it). We went to the bar to get some drinks, good service. Once sat down the waitress approached with her pad and asked what we would like to eat, "if we had menus we can tell you" we chose our meals, she returned, no fish. So I chose from the specials board (foot long sausage) "sorry that's gone we had none yesterday" I went for the scampi and chips with a wedge of lemon and peas. She returned again after 20 minutes and asked what kind of potatoes we wanted with 2 of our meals (beef and YORKSHIRE pudding. My wife went for the haloumi sizzler (the one where the cast iron dish is sizzling). My scampi arrived, no peas, no lemon and a portion for a mouse, I asked for the peas, they came stone cold, I sent the meal back and said don't replace it, I want a refund, the YORKSHIRE puddings, never seen anything like it, burnt and rock hard, we were not the only ones not eating them, the sizzler, was not sizzling (warm). The salad was questionable too. I did complain to the supervisor as there was not a Manager on site, he would not refund as we had started eating some food, he reimbursed me for the scampi and drinks and said we could return and eat free. Why would you return???

The food is great value for money apart from the tiny jug of gravy given with a roast dinner and the fact you have to pay extra to get enough gravy. Also there is never enough ice for drinks. We pass this pub regularly on Sundays and it always looks busy so gave it a try today for Sunday Lunch. All I can say is people must be easily pleased. Firstly we ordered 2 lime & sodas which came with hardly any lime and weren't much better after we took them back. The 2 roast beef dinners we ordered were disgusting. A massive yorkshire pud covered most of the plate, under which we found 2 small rounds of beef, 4 square(?) Roast(?) potatoes (no mash as stated on the menu) and a square piece of stuffing that was so hard we couldn't cut it and then, to add insult to injury, we were given 4 pieces of carrott, 2 pieces of broccoli and 2 spoonfuls of cabbage which were swimming in water and no serving utensils. Every single item was clap cold. I was ready to stand up and walk out but, as we hadn't eaten since breakfast, I stayed and forced myself to eat some of it. On the plus side the gravy (although cold) was tasty but as there was only a spoonful on the plate we had to order extra adding a further £2 to each meal. I wouldn't go near this place again if they gave me free meals for a month plus Christmas day dinner at - wait for it - £92.95!!

We then stayed for the quiz night, which was just as much fun every Friday I attend for my lovely fish and chips at just 19.99 for 2 it's a bargain and for the quiz night. I've done several reviews on this place as it's local to us, but recently it's just not our favourite place. Come in with family on Sunday 22/09/2024 the service was horrible sat at the table waiting to be seen just for a drink 15 minutes later I was seen, for some reason it seems to be inexperienced teenagers that's running the place now. Cheap labour doesn't bring people in. The food took a while to arrive also but when it did it was beautiful. Can't fault the food it's a 10/10 shame the service isn't up to the same standards. I try to be as honest as possible which is why I give feedback to pubs because it's our experiences that help bring people in but unfortunately not this time. Hire some more experienced people who can create good service for you then you will be winning as the service is your only let down.

Inexperienced rude young staff, sticky tables, long wait times to be asked what you want for drinks never mind your food. Sunday roast came out 2 adults 1 kids, the kids roast was the same size as the adults at twice the price but only had half a Yorkshire pudding. The food was lukewarm at best, Yorkshire pudding as dry as the Sahara. I saw 2 other couples get up and leave having not ordered after being sat at there tables for 30mins. If you go to the bar they just tell you to sit down. Such a shame as this used to be a great pub but it’s gone downhill massively and it’s in need of a major refurb it’s very old and tatty and dirty inside. Males toilets don’t lock, they smell awful and there’s profanities written all over the door which my 13 year old boy read. Won’t be returning

Review posted on here as no response to FB messenger or via the email address given out on other reviews. This is going back to Fathers day. Such a shame as we've supported for years. ------ I messaged on the Facebook messenger as I wanted to share our experience for Fathers day as we found the table service was really poor. As of yet I've heard nothing back and I feel important as I think the standards are not what they used to be at this once great pub. I believe in reaching out before leaving reviews on the usual places, I tried this in the pub on the day of the meal but the staff were far from interested. We arrived at a time when the restaurant was relatively quiet, around 3 pm. Despite this, we had several different staff members ask us if we had ordered our meals, even though we had already done so, so it seems many people were doing the same thing. While my father was still eating his starter, a staff member approached our table and asked if we were finished and if they could clear the plates, even though it was clear that one of us was still eating. After we had finished our main courses, our plates remained on the table for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Despite making eye contact with several team members who passed by our table, no one came to clear the plates or ask us. Eventually, I had to ask a staff member if it would be possible to order dessert. The staff member took our dessert order but left the table full of plates. After waiting for another 15 minutes without any sign of our desserts, I went to the bar to ask for our bill. In the end we only had the 2 courses instead of the 3. While I was paying at the bar, there was no apology or acknowledgment from any of the staff members regarding what I had said. I also noticed that another table near us had a similar experience, as they had to ask for their desserts and had been waiting for a long time as well. On the positive the food we had was ok. I understand a long awaited refurb is due and it is needed as it's very tired and tatty inside. I'm sorry for the honest review but we chose yourselves on that Sunday with it being fathers day, we don't eat out often but when we do we like to support local rather than the big chains to have such poor service and lack of interest from the staff when issues were raised.

I brought family here from abroad as I had been here a good while ago and had an amazing Sunday lunch, but this time unfortunately not so great! The four of us each ordered a meal. They forgot one our meals so it took another 20 minutes for the fourth which was a roasted pepper and mozzarella sandwich on bloomer, what came was a raw pepper non melted mozzarella on white bread, we were asked if we wanted another but we'd waited long enough to begin with and the pub only had about 10 people in so no excuse really... not the place it used to be!

I never said it was only me and my mother in law, there were seven of us in total. We spent £160 so please do not imply I'm exaggerating. We weren't told you had run out of Yorkshire puddings, we were told none had been made. There were two staff working when we visited, outside clearing glasses for the most part so if you think I should've gone to find someone to tell them or your error, perhaps a table check would be more professional. I reject the point about gravy, if you gave enough we wouldn't need to ask for more. I would think from a business stand point, if seven people are eating and buying drinks and they want extra gravy, telling them you charge extra and risking them not returning is moronic. We spend around £150 to £200 each Saturday on a good pub meal, we don't eat at Wetherspoons... my point is the staff and quality is on parr with what I would expect there for half the price. **Original review** 1. When ordering was told they hadn't made any Yorkshire puddings. 2. Both mixed grills didn't come with onion rings, mushrooms or tomato as stated on the menu. 3. Mother in law asked for extra gravy and was told we'd have to be charged for it! 4. Wallpaper hanging off the walls and generally grubby throughout. 5. Took 50 minutes to get our food. It's such a shame how this place has gone down hill. Used to be heaving, queue for a table and food came quick and high quality... not anymore. £160 spent but would've been better going to a Wetherspoons, it would've been half the price and food a similar standard.

After that it went a bit pear shaped. It got quite busy and there were only two staff on duty. We did want to order puddings, but had to wait quite a while for them. The food was very good though. Think the pub could do with an overhaul inside. Looks beautiful outside with all the flowers, but inside it could do with a bit of modernization.

The food was typical pub food. Perfectly edible, but nothing to particularly write home about. Unfortunately, I felt that it wasn't very nicely presented. Although there's only so much you can do with a steak pie, mashed potatoes and peas. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Although seeing her run past me a few times into the kitchen, I didn't find particularly relaxing. I was, however, very happy that they allowed my dog in, and I thank you for that. My main gripe was the fact that I had asked for gravy and found that £2.50 had been added onto my bill. That seems a bit excessive for a drop of gravy and as it turned out not needed because the steak pie, which are quite often full of steak, was actually mostly gravy, although there was plenty of steak and ample to fill you up. I thought the prices very reasonable and good value.

We then ordered dessert it was a different menus that was advertised online. The dessert came out fairly quickly but the ice cream was all melted and warm which was disappointing. Half way through our dessert we was asked to get up so staff could enter a cupboard that was behind us. The food arrived fairly quickly and we were not disappointed, my steak pie was tasty with plenty of tender beef and good pastry. My wife's brasing steak with Yorkshire pudding was also good. On paying the bill she forgot to deduct the 25% for pensioners, again corrected. Overall the food was excellent. Although the service was friendly, not the best with too many mistakes.

Not one to moan unless it's terrible scran so that's why im posting. Basically ruined my weekend with the filth they served up. Pie lid was like taking a bite out the wall and food was greasy and slow service. Staff were polite enough but worst meal had in ages. Daughters was bit better but very basic and no love gone into it.

Well three horse shoes what has happened visited tonight as I have been numerous times but haven’t been since last year saw you’ve had it tough recently and thought I would bring my family to have a meal. The place was a hotel mess, I don’t know if she was a manager but the lady with the blonde hair was literally jogging through the restaurant, dropping folks and knifes everywhere told us to take a seat and she would be over shortly but never returned to that point I asked a young looking girl to get my drink order to be told again I will be back in a minute again no return, I went to the bar for the older lady telling me she would be over again. She finally arrived took our drinks order no apology for the delay just she needed more staff on which isn’t really our problem, finally got our drinks and ordered the food which when the older lady was taking our order didn’t really seem interested just rushing us. I was going to book for Mother’s Day this year like we did last year but I am not wasting my money at a place with rude frantic staff. The place as gone downhill in my opinion the food was lovely it’s such a shame the atmosphere in the restaurant was so rushed and the older lady really needs to stop and take her time. I’m sorry for the review but hope that customer feedback is something you can work on in the future.

Dated furnishings. Dirty tables. Spillages on the floor & left. Called in for lunch as it once has a good reputation. Not anymore. Ordered pie. Pastry was rock hard & inedible. Was refunded. Think the oil needs to be changed in the fryer too. Building looked unloved.

First time trying this place. We came with our 2 year old to have a Sunday dinner and the staff, food and atmosphere were exemplary. We will definitely be back to try the normal menu midweek.

Good menu choices and quality food at very reasonable prices. Our party of 5 all chose different meals which were well presented, good sized helpings and very tasty. Great friendly helpful staff as well.

The service was horrendous. Everything took ages, getting the order taken, getting the drinks, getting more drinks and the food took over an hour. The poor young girls working there obviously have had no training. When we complained at the end the 'manager' handled the situation extremely poorly and only removed our drinks (soft drinks) from the bill and appeared not to care at all. I have never experienced worse service.

We booked a table for 13 in December 2023 for our 1st wedding anniversary but was very disappointing. We sent in a pre-order as we were asked but we didnt get what we had ordered and no desserts leaved even though we pre-ordered. No j2o, fosters, bottled water or lime cordial. Broken chair but couldn't change it as they were no free chairs. NO apologies for not having what we ordered.

An utter shambles. Took the booking for four for lunch, arrived to a very cold bar area, with a smoky fire. Seated as only two tables in, but we should have seen the writing on the wall as soon as we had been seated. When ordering drinks the gas hadn't arrived to provide Coke or a shandy, so a different round of drinks ordered. When we came to order only then did we get informed that they had no fish, fish fingers and no braising steak, all of which would have been on our order, so decided to leave as more than half our choices weren't available. we told the only member of staff of our disappointment, paid you the £10.20 for our drinks and left. No need to ask me to contact you Joe, we won't return after such a disappointing visit.

Went for Christmas Day lunch with family and it was the worst food I’ve had at an extortionate price at almost £90 each. Soup had oil poured in it and tasted like vegetable oil the Yorkshire puddings were so big burnt and cold that we couldn’t eat them sprouts from a bag of frozen not fresh and were cold. They said the Christmas puddings hadn’t been delivered apart from a few which was the size of the smallest supermarket ones. The worst meal ever and felt ripped off. The staff seemed inexperienced and most people couldn’t wait to get up and leave. We will never go there again and will be calling in to make a complaint to owner.

Traditional British breakfast at an affordable price. Bacon was great. Everything else is just as what you would expect. Store prefers to take cash. They also have lots of sandwich / burger options that I would love to go back and try. Coffee could have been better and overall cleanliness of the place & utensils could also be improved.

Excellent Hotel! Located very centrally, with access to all amenities and train and bus services. Rooms were clean and tidy and staff were professional, efficient and polite. I slept brilliantly, as the beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice and quiet. When I got home, I realised that I had left a bag with my dirty washing in the room. I telephoned the hotel, expecting it to be gone forever and was called the next day by the head of housekeeping, Alimamoa Demba to say that they had found it and would post it back to me if I organised the postage. It is so rare to find service at this level and people who care enough to go the extra mile. Thank you to all staff concerned. I shall definitely use and recommend your hotel in the future for any overnight stays in Leeds 😊

Just enjoyed a Christmas meal here with 16 friends from my walking group. The food was excellent and really good value. The staff were friendly and very efficient, and coped well with the gluten free and dairy free requests. The conservatory is a bright, pleasant area to eat in, with lovely long distant views. I've also enjoyed plenty of Sunday roasts here, and will be back.
