Clean, good service, good location

Was returning home after a short break to Leeds to visit family so took advantage of a meal and drink before our return home .

Staff were incredibly helpful when my colleague took a tumble down the stairs.

A typical Wetherspoons/Lloyds No.1 pub, close to Leeds station. Didn't have any food, just drinks. Good atmosphere but service a little slow. Reasonably priced drinks.

Ordered breakfast waited 40 minutes to get served a breakfast with chips no hash browns and an egg full of shell sent it back to receive the exact same breakfast 20 minutes later stone cold. No apologies at all me and my sister received 5 cold disgusting breakfasts and the woman would only refund one even though mine was sent back to the kitchen cause we only took one to the bar to complain (the second time) Before we even received the sub par dishes the lad couldn’t even bring me cofffee cup I ordered. Brought the other drinks 20 minutes after ordering when asked for the coffee cup which he seen on the recipeipt he just said oh it wasn’t there then didn’t bring me one and I had to go get it from the bar.

Horrendous breakfast full of egg shell, stone cold and chips not hash browns. Sent back and still cold breakfast. Staff couldn’t care less. I get it’s just a spoons but I’d expect something edible

Great place to meet in Central Leeds. Very clean with good food choice at a very reasonable price

I got the triple American burger, wow it was amazing. Fast service too ,ordered on the app and it was on our table in 10mins.

Standard bank spoons nowt special.

My fiance and her friend were sat on the ground floor with my 2 month old daughter when a member of staff who had overstacked her dirty dishes on the second floor dropped a knife which hit her friend who was holding my daughter at the time. What if this had hit the babys face? Didn't even have the courtesy to apologise. Madness.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel unwelcome by a male team member. He seemed disengaged and looked down on us when we were ordering, which made us feel very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, I have a service dog, and this staff member demanded that I leave immediately upon seeing my service dog. When I requested to speak with a manager about the matter, he spoke to her within earshot of us, and his words were highly unprofessional. We had come for a well-deserved catch-up with family, but this experience was upsetting and far from what we expected from a hospitality establishment. As a result, we will not be returning, and I felt compelled to share my experience in the hope that no other customers have to go through what we did. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to improve customer service at your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your response

Really enjoyed lunch here, the food was hot and tasty. The staff were excellent both attentive and friendly. Enjoyed reading the history of the building that the name comes from.

Food was 45 mins after order. They said I gave the wrong table number. When it did arrive it was over cooked as if it had been sitting on the hot plate very dry Fish n Chips. The atmosphere was ruined due to customers arguing and threatening each other. This happened at two separate tables within 20 minutes.

Food haven't tried ,went for few drinks with friends.. good place for evening hang out with friends... But not as great as other whetherspon near Marion centre.. ordered Bluemoon and rudells.. good place overall nice

The place was heaving because of Leeds Pride but service was excellent... at the bar and from the kitchen. Well done, everyone!

Left after being ignored at bar for 15mins... Don't stand in centre of bar when serving both ends...? Experienced bar staff should know/notice customers waiting time and serve accordingly... Won't stop visiting again as never been issues on numerous of previous visits...

Was told by security I couldn't take my chicken bites outside (I understand alcohol. But chicken bites). Why dont I leave my food unguarded in a spoons (That is a great idea). At worst, you will come back to no food. Well, I guess I won't be going back. Staff were nice, but security lets it down. I would not recommend when security is at the door. Btw the chicken bites are nice.

Standard Spoons. Cheap beer ( quite a reasonable range I accept) Average food. A bit like a McDonald's really - you know what you're going to get. Plenty of above average drinking in Leeds City Centre - if they are all closed then come to the Becketts.

Always a favourite with stag and hen groups which can either be a good atmosphere boost or a negative depending on the group - the pub itself is clean, with quick service and staff on hand. Food is your standard Spoons food.

Ordered cod, chips and peas. The peas were not hot. The desert was very slow in coming. Had to speak to staff twice before getting desert.

Lovely bar, nice and open. Normal weatherspoons food which is I like anyway and done well. Well placed in the city - close to shops but not in the middle of the chaos.

One of the better Wetherspoons, good bar staff, nice atmosphere.

Been 4 times. 4 times they forget one of our meals.

Everything you’d expect in a Wetherspoon! Food and drinks came reasonably quickly considering we ordered at 10pm on a Saturday, and everything was right first time. My issue is with the layout/furniture arrangement upstairs. Tables are too cramped and crowded, it’s really hard to walk past tables to get to the ladies toilets, having to repeatedly ask people to move their chairs etc. and very weird uplighting in the floor - huge spotlights that you have to walk over which aren’t ideal in a dress!

Each time I visit Leeds me and my sister always end up in Beckett’s . Fast food service. Staff very polite. Toilets very close by!

Decent sized pub on 2 levels. Usually very busy at the weekend. Through the week, you can enjoy a nice quiet pint and hear yourself speak. Staff and service can be a bit hit and miss at times, but if you are patient and don't mind waiting, you'll get served!

Really good breakfast at a really good price. I know it's a wetherspoons but clean plates all around, great for mopping up a hangover the morning after. Breakfast was very good and service was good too.

Busy, reliable, you know what to expect

Service wasn’t great. Food was poor (asked for an egg on a breakfast to be swapped for tomato and got a salad tomato rather than a grilled tomato). Not even that cheap any more.

To say we called in here at 11:30pm (after a concert @ the O2), got good service. Didn’t realise they were open til 1am. Loved their Blood-Orange Cider

July 2024 update: past few times we've been here, the drinks always takes ages to come (20 minutes+!) IF using the app to order. Advise grabbing your drinks at the bar if you want quick service. Decent place. Been here a few times. Last time my drink didn't come to the table. I went and asked about it when our food arrived.. then someone passed me the drink that had clearly been sitting on the bar since we'd ordered twenty minutes previous.

Pre festival breakfast with extra hash browns & a couple of pints. Cheap and cheerful and saved spending money on overpriced food for the rest of the day 🤣

In terms of the menu, drinks, prices and so on, this is your standard Wetherspoons. Unfortunately, the customers and atmosphere it attracts are a different matter. I visited on a Sunday evening around 6pm and it was packed and extremely loud. The lady on the table next to me projective vomited all over the place and another customer appeared under my table doing press ups. The staff, however, seemed to have no idea how to deal with drunk customers and caused more trouble than they solved by trying to pick fights with everyone. Find another spoons, this one is awful!

The drinks and food were great, lovely fast service. Just really noisy, screaming and yelling from adults. But apart from that it's a nice place to get food and a drink.

Ok for a quick bite , not sure if they have a grill as this branch doesn't do the Thursday Steak club, plus everything seems to be fried or microwaved.

Where do I start, tables outside piled high with uncollected plates and glasses. Clientele sitting outside using language that is totally unacceptable in this day and age. Staff who really look like they don’t want to be there. The worst Spoons I’ve been in.

GREAT LEEDS CITY CENTER location handy for nearby shopping ( headrow / train station / trinity shopping center ) large place..seating outside in good weather..staff brilliant..prices always a bargin..

It's a busy wetherspoons with all you'd expect- including glasses not cleared an unclean tables.

It was that good we started the day there and ended up there for last orders.

The place was fine and what you expect for a wetherspoons but I wasn't keen on some of the food, the loaded chips tasted very greasy and bland but the chicken strips were nice.

Went in on a thursday with my baby, there are no signs or anyone to tell you you're not allowed a baby past a certain time. We had several employees walk past us no problem, we then ordered drinks and food. Drinks came no issue, then when someone brought out our food she had a unwelcoming attitude with us telling us there was signs to say no minors past a certain age; which we said we hadnt noted. Double checking as we left pointed out that there were no signs on either entrance. She was really quite a rude woman. She then said we could eat our food but then we had to leave which we understood. While we were eating our food she kept walking past us giving us dirty looks and staring which just made our already badly overcooked food taste all the more worse. Absolute horrible experience, will never return, absolutely pathetic.

Lunchtime service is quick and courteous. Still loving the App

Great Weatherspoons. Everything we needed... The fryers /has was working.. The toilets both ladies as and gents were separate and working... Unlike other Weatherspoons establishments that night!!! Good choice of drinks and hot food served with a smile. Thank you for saving our night after disastrous visits to try and eat at Cuthbert Brotherick and Headley Verity.

Been several times. Good standard of service. Recommend the pizzas and using the Wetherspoon App to order. Staff work hard and are polite.

Went into Becketts Bank on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed like the entire population of Leeds was in there at the same time as us. It was really rather busy. Incredibly incredibly difficult to get served, particularly as there appeared to be about three bar staff for every thousand people in there. Probably. It's a Wetherspoons pub, so you know the score. We leapt on the first table that became available as we were forced to loiter around the pub like lionesses waiting to pick off the weaker gazelle from the back of the pack... A table of four began to shuffle in their seats, we edged closer. Hand bags were scooped up and we nudged ever nearer. Bums left seats and we sidled over and muttered the word so often heard in a 'Spoons, 'Oh, are you leaving?' as we feigned surprise. 'Yes, we are,' was the reply, as the family feigned giving a monkeys. We sat at our table and used the App to order the food. The App was preferable to a very long wait at the bar. The food eventually arrived some time later. It was fine, typical 'Spoons grub to be honest. A couple of almost hot curries and a chicken strips meal was eaten as we fought to hear each other speak over the din. It's a 'Spoons, it's gets very busy, the food is OK. Standard stuff.

Lovely Leeds city centre pub, part of the JD Wetherspoon estate. Unbeatable prices, fast service, complimentary sauces and condiments to all dishes and great kids menu selection. Best value for money of all pub chains.

Great place Doormen scanned my sons citizen ID card and let us in. Bar left my app ordered drink on the bar so after 10 mins I had to get it myself, but that's no problem. No Top plates Low Rates so food is expensive compared to other wetherspoons. Ordered the cheap Korean burger which filled my son.

Haven't been to a Wetherspoons in a long time, but it's still cheap. The food was good, pub food. I had a small portion of scampi & chips, when it came it looked pretty big! 7 scampi, chips & peas. I got chicken nuggets for my 4 yrs old, which again was a large portion, 6 nuggets, chips, cucumber & tomatoes. Both came with a drink, so paid around £20. The food was hot & served pretty quick after ordering, the kids menu is one of the best I've seen so far, had a variety of food choices, drinks & fruit. Still the same feel, full of students & young people at one end & older men at the other. But if you're looking for a cheap meal, no frills but still enjoyable, then it's worth a visit!

A traditional city centre spoons. Can be very busy at peek times . Look out for deals like the beer festivals.

Busy but didn't have to wait too long to get served. Just a shame the tables are always sticky (as are the menus - both drink and food) and discarded glasses left. Otherwise good atmosphere and good choice of Gins 👍

They certainly know how to run a Beer Festival in here - super efficient service in this enormo-Spoons with excellent ale; pretty handy for the 🚂station as well if you find yourself in this part of the city.

We called in for a coffee and I left my wife sitting at the table when a man come and sat at the same table even though he knew my wife was sitting there,he was one of the staff or possibly a manager and was making my wife uncomfortable. When my wife said he was rude he replied I could be which I thought was disgusting he still tried to make us uncomfortable.becauuse he wanted to do his paper work.i shall be reporting this to head office. I found out us name it is ADAM AND IS THE MANAGER SO WILL BE REPORTING HIM TO HEAD OFFICE OTHER STAFF WERE GREAT PITY ABOUT THE MANAGEMEN PLENTY OF OTHER WATERING HOLE TO ENJOY.
