We were very disappointed with the quality of food I had a tiny piece of frozen fish lightly fried the frozen chips were tasteless my partner had a beef and onion sandwich and had to remove lots of fat off the meat overall it was very poor and very poor value, won’t be eating there again 🤨

Go here quite often and always enjoy the variety. Just sometimes wish they would give a price for things instead of reduced/half price/ 2 for 1/ sale item etc. Still will be going again though. Cream scones are big enough to share. Often have free ice cream too later in the day. Recommended.

We've been visiting Hampsons for more than twenty years now even though it is thirty miles away. Often we would visit two or three times a month buying plants, compost, ornaments, garden furniture, pet supplies, flowers bouquets, Christmas decorations, flowers bouquets and food from the deli. We have watched it change over the years but over the last 12 to 18 months it has changed for the worst. We travelled there as we could get everything we needed, and a lot we didn't need, for a good price. And, with it being at such a good price, we always finished up buying so much more than we set out for! Unfortunately if all seems to have gone downhill. Gone are the good bargains, the 50% off marked priced and bargain red tag plants. You can get red tags but the last lot we bought failed miserably once home. Plants are now the same price as anywhere else but not always the best looked after. The MiracleGro was actually £3 more than my local garden centre! Plus, there just in not the same choice as there was. The cafe, although not the poshest, used to be really good value and a proper plate full! That's gone too. Prices have gone up, quality and quantity have gone down. Car parking can be a nightmare at busy times. The layout is......??? Bizarre! Doors have been blocked off so you can't follow any sort of flow. Once you've gone through the checkouts you can't get back in but at this point you realise that you've missed a section of the shop!! Talking of the checkouts, on our last visit my husband queried the bill. After much tutting and rolling of eyes they told us to empty our trolley out to recheck it all (making us look like criminals) and yes, we had been OVERCHARGED by £12!!! No wonder they have signs up saying mistakes won't be rectified once you've left the shop!!! Really feel it's let itself down I'm afraid we won't be back in a hurry.

Decided to call in for the first time today and have a coffee in the ice cream cafe, we paid £7 for 2 coffees, my husband got a latte which I think was just milk as there didn't seem to be any coffee in it at all, however he may have got the better deal as after I tasted my flat white that I got and found it to be an extremely vile tasting coffee, it was also quite weak but the taste alone was enough to put us off and we left them both, we won't be returning and certainly don't recommend. The staff serving however were pleasant.

A very poor experience in the cafe today, we took our 94 Yr old dad out for lunch. There was a private function on so we understood there would be a wait for food. However tables were clearing and new customers were being served before us, with the same order as we had ordered. We waited an hr for our food, which we felt was unacceptable for a 94yr old.

My wife and I are regular visitors to Hampsons. They probably have the most reasonable prices for plants and other garden products in the Wakefield area. In addition, amongst other things, they have a great cafe and butchery, bakery and green grocery departments. My favourite is the ice cream parlour which also serves teas, coffees and homemade cakes and patisserie.

Went to the cafe. Sundays at Hampsons is a nightmare for parking. Takes twenty minutes to park up. Then we went into the cafe. Ran out of most things, it was 12.30 on a Sunday so not sure how. Was forced into the cheese and bacon burger which was bland and dry, even the chips were pretty poor. Then there was the sad coleslaw that came with it. Certainly wouldn't bother again for food

Been visiting for years, from when it was a nursery just selling plants. Now, it is a massive garden centre with a large restaurant, instead of a small cafe. I have bought many plants from there and have had great success with most of them. They now have a carvery which is open on Wednesdays as well as the usual Sundays. Be warned, I went this week and it was heaving, I only just managed to park my car!

Good selection of plants, which can be average price to expensive. I managed to find some well priced Jasmine plants when they were either sold out or ridiculously expensive elsewhere. If you like overpriced plants & dodgy parking places then this is the place for you. I can't think why this place is so popular other than there's nothing around to challenge it. It has a 'pound' shop where nothing is a quid. The food shop is extremely expensive. Most of the stuff in there you'd probably get cheaper at B&Q if you drive 5 minutes down the road. It's a rip off most of the stuff in there.

The products that are being sold for small animals are unsafe. The bare minimum hamster cage size is 100cm x 50cm- none of the cages sold here come anywhere close to that size. Hamsters balls are being sold which hamsters can get limbs trapped in, there's a lack of ventilation and they have little control over them so they are very stressful items for them. Hampsons is quite unclean and could do with an update to becone more modern. The houseplants are very affordable

On arriving at the garden centre notice how tight the parking was. Got into the centre it looked very nice butchers cake stall, we decided to go for breakfast before we shopped what a very strange set up. Firstly got a table ordered our breakfast a tea & a coffee paid for items, then waited for ages for drinks at the end of the counter like the rest of customers Our food came first !! The cutlery was dirty cleaned with serviette. When we did get our drinks teapot with hot in was dirty could do with a good clean, coffee terrible, bacon was tuff never tasted sausage like that ever, egg over cooked chopped tomatoes were bitter black small bits in the beans, toast rock hard & still no drinks!!!! While we was sat there we noticed a man waiting for his drinks too, a young lad went up to him & tried to give him his breakfast, the man explained he was waiting for drinks so he put it back on the hot, eventually he got his drink & asked for his breakfast, a few minutes later the man took his breakfast back & complained wanted it replacing the kitchen staff didn’t look happy about this. The worse breakfast ever would not recommend at all. The whole stimulation could do with a revamp of counters & some organised support so it runs smoothly. Looking at the quality of food Over priced for the quality of food One thing we did see was the young staff cleaning tables was doing a very good job I have to rate a one to be kind

My food was cold. I didn’t even get a full slice of meat, the tiniest bit of gravy, the mash potato still had pretty much a whole boiled potato in it not mashed, and 5 huge roast potatoes. The whole thing was a disgrace. Won’t ever order again. Such a waste of money.

This chip shop used to be really nice but just had fish and chips and they were the worst I've ever had. Chips were chewy, fish was dry and tasteless and batter well soggy and not crunchy.
