The Staff especially dale is amazing as always never fails to make us feel welcome, fast and perfect in everyway he’s so friendly and lovely

Charlotte made us feel very welcome and Henry, at the carving station was almost as good as the food served. Melt in the mouth lamb, wife liked the salmon Kiev hugely. The only disappointment is that we don't live closer.

Service very very slow. Roast potatoes were solid and not much choice of veg. Carving staff were friendly and the server but slow. I ordered desserts to take out. Had to ask after waiting 20 mins where they were. I had a voucher to use too…. Bill came wrong three times. Really an unpleasant visit. The place isn’t a patch on the Barnsley branch

Went for lunch and we were given a table and served by Kieran (I think his name was) he was very attentive but not intrusive, in looking after you. The chef was also very pleasant on the carvery and the food was excellent. The place is always clean. The food can sometimes vary I think depending if they are busy or not. On the whole it is normally well presented and tasty.

Exceptional customer service by Ellie today. She went above and beyond to make sure we were welcomed and all our needs were met throughout our stay. She made our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you Ellie and other team members for a pleasurable experience. The food was great we will be visiting again soon.

I booked a table and although it was busy we went straight to the table however there was quite a queue at the counter. When we returned to the table our bottomless gas’s was waiting but I had to walk away to get the drink so my food was cooling

First time at this particular toby. Staff and atmosphere good. Food was horrendous. Usually find its good quality on a Sunday, (we went on a monday) any other day, don't bother.

Called in for breakfast this morning, buffet style breakfast served, good selection, friendly and welcoming staff.

Food was served with a smile and a good portion of meat. Everything tasty as always. One star removed as food wasn't very hot indeed would say tepid rather than hit. Overall though 5 stars

Wonderful festive atmosphere with lovely patient staff ( we changed our order around quite bit when ordering the dessert. There was nine in our party! ) and as we were the last group at the venue , their staff were coming to the end of their day's shift but still managed to keep in the festive spirit . Highly recommend a visit to this establishment!

Food was great, carver and waitress were brilliant too. Nat i think her name was.My issue was the incompetent manager, some foreign lady and a zesty employee (the grass he shall be called). Complained about me holding my 1 year old daughter while I played the bandit while we finished our drinks before leaving. I get you can't gamble if your under 18, she's 1 shes enjoying the flashing lights and colours while I gamble. She won't be in rehab by 2 for a gambling addiction you morons.

Really dissapointed, third time since the reopen and again terrible experience. Food was luke warm: When I suggested they had a problem with their heat lamps was told that they knew about it and was waiting for it to be fixed. Asked them why they were not having a faster turn around with their food on the counter was told they only had 2 chefs on so that wasn't possible. So they left turines of luke warm food due to staff shortages? 🤔 I shall not be bothering again.

Been today for my mum’s 50th birthday meal and the service was amazing from Dale, all the staff in general were lovely and went out of their way to say happy birthday to my mum

This is our first time visiting this Toby as it’s not as close to us as the other near Oulton however, the service we’ve had was exceptional. It was my mums 50th birthday and every staff member took the opportunity to wish her happy birthday. The gentleman serving the food was lovely and chatty when serving. James who was one of our servers even went out of his way to come back to the table before leaving to wish her happy birthday. Dale then took over our service and was beyond lovely. He made us feel very welcomed and went above and beyond for us. I’ve never been to any restaurant and received customer service like it.

The beef was very fatty, and when asked for a piece that wasn't 50% fat, was told its all like that so put up with it. Not brilliant customer service

The service was slow and they didn't have enough cooked to replace the empty hot plates. So the items on my plate were starting to get cold due to the wait of sausages, mushrooms, bacon and eggs.

Me and my partner went into toby carvery on Sunday at 4pm and the food was lovely we got greeted by a lovely girl called Carys who took are drinks order and the drinks came down very fast we ordered some pigs and blankets and Carys waited til we was back with are meals to put the pigs and blankets down so they wouldn’t go cold was a very good touch. We finished are meals and they we’re so good the Yorkshire pudding was just out of this world man it was that good you couldn’t even write about it to give it justice. Are plates were cleared by a young man this time i believed his name to be cian, he was very humorous and offered us some puddings that he recommended to be taken away as we we’re too full. His service was very quick and he was lovely to every person who was in the business loved are visit and will be back in the future.

Natalie our server was amazing. I am coeliac and she was already on it, bringing over the allergen menu for me to look at (I had the glass onion app already) but she was so lovely and attentive. Food was really nice, disappointed that the roasties were so tough but apart from that it was good! Veggie gravy was flavourful and didn’t make me miss ‘normal’ gravy at all. Will be adding this to the places I feel safe to eat at.

Called for the all you can eat breakfast. Yorkshire pudding optional, but really nice. Everything from the buffet was really hot . Toaster is a little slow as usual. A selection of food was well done, for the bacon lover's. Just how I prefer it. Unlimited visits to the buffet. Drinks purchased separately. Tea, coffee, fresh orange etc. A very enjoyable visit. Lovely staff and a fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended.

We love a good Toby carvery, usually great but this time a few loud drinkers and crying babies sullied the mood but otherwise as good as usual

Called in for tea as a treat was welcomed by Monika and shown to my table .. my waiter who was looking after me was Dale .. he was friendly but professional as always.. I have allergies so he made sure my food was ordered to my requirements.. I have to say the Veg was absolutely beautiful ( i dont eat meat) sooo tasty .(.to the team in the kitchen well done ) my whole visit was perfect..( as a fussy disabled guest this is hard to achieve lol) well done team toby ( Monika, Dale &Natalie) keep up the great work

Very busy but we were seated with in 15 mins we had nt booked. The vegetarian option s were really nice and the vegetables were delicious. Service was excellent. Only downfall was it was very warm.

It's mediocre at best and it depends on what chef you get as to whether you get a decent portion of meat or not.

Had a sudden need for a cooked breakfast but didn't want to cook yesterday! Toby's was warm and welcoming, from arriving at the till for our order to the cheerio on leaving. The food was cooked to our liking e.g crispy bacon, sausages cooked brown all over and the hash Browns were crispy too! We had a lovely meal in a nice environment and no washing up! As a daft cosmetic thing, I would like to see the flavour of the jams, but hey, I only have one choice at home!😜

Good food hot as usual..unfortunately the chefs were a bit stingy with the meat and not best of presentations tbh..throwing Yorkshire puddings onto plates ..seen better at this restaurant

I ordered Ulti Meat carvery and was very dissapointed. No issue with the veg and gravy etc but sorry: the portion of the meat for £16.49 plus some extra delivery and charge fees??? I mean look at the picture…are they having a laugh? Wont order again as this is close to “robbery”. Thank you very much

Called in Toby Carvery yesterday with a colleague at lunch time whilst in the area for work. No booking but no hassle. Service prompt, attentive and with a smile. Huge choice of food to cater for all appetites, excellent, value, quality and very flavoursome. Hats off to our server (think her name was Monika), top notch. Will recommend to all and be back next time in the area.

Visited Toby Wakefield tonight and the place was absolutely 5 star experience. Monika was great tonight. The service was absolutely fab and second-to-none.

Called in for mid week carvery. Have been here many times before but not for about a year. Not as good as it was but think this is due to money. Not as generous with the meat, I think I could have read through the slices of meat.

A welcome meal after being stuck on the M1 for hours.Sustained us for our evening at Elland Road to watch Leeds Utd!

Excellent value smashing food and friendly staff. Just been again, first time since about April 2024. It's fantastic after a beautiful but necessary makeover. Must now be best restaurant anywhere in the whole area. Food and service are excellent and in wonderful surroundings.

All you can eat breakfast consists of rock hard black pudding ,luke warm beans,mushrooms and hash brown, the bacon was over cooked,had to ask twice for fried eggs and when they eventualy arrived the white of the eggs were still runny and not cooked enough.

Not clean,tables were sticky and midge's were around us and my wife got bit , we left after one drink 👎

I find toby carvery in wakefield a wonderful place to take my family, i call at least 3 times per week, i also charge my car whilst enjoying either breakfast or lunch, the staff are very friendly and also full of joy, its a great place to eat and meet friends, the food is lovely and it is always clean and tidy, overall i would highly recomend toby carvery to anyone

Love the refurb they've had place looks brilliant. I went for breakfast and it's all lovely apart from the breakfast hash, they never put cheese in it so it's very dry. Also there's no bacon in the breakfast Yorkshire puddings.

Ten of us visited yesterday, all of us enjoyed ourselves. 4 stars as all the ladies who had the beef said it was fatty. It was made even better getting our food for £6 each.

Went for the breakfast buffet most of the food was under cooked and seemed really dry

Thought considering it was busy and expected to still be waiting even though we booked as we arrived how quickly we were seated and served . Food was great /fresh and loads of choice . Only had a main carvery as would normally have a pud 😉 but was so happly full I saved a few quid too. Got my 1st reward on my way home of a free drink which is great as I can have a pint and use my 25% off voucher together when we call on Saturday too as it makes it affordable 😀 happy customers. Got nothing to complain about or suggest fir that visit

Food was mediocre, dry as a bone and nothing there. Service was good until the end when Dale took the piss out of my partners stammer 👍 we used to enjoy this place. Safe to say we will not be returning

Went yesterday previously food has always been good. Yesterday it was cold roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings tough you could not cut them. I told the waitress who just said the food was continually probed for heat but don’t think so. It was 12ish so should have been freshly cooked but looked as though it had been stood a long while. Don’t think I will go again

Went for carvery dinner.The beef was fatty roast potatoes couldn't cut them carrots was cold No sauce left on the cauliflower. And the peas wasn't nice .Overall the complete dinner wasnt hot.The only thing nice was the pudding Apple and plum crumble that was really nice.

This was my first experience of a Carvery and goodness me, it was a great experience. The place was very busy on a weekday lunchtime. A friend took me and paid and explained what one had to do. The Beef was really good. My friend had all four meats plus two Yorkshire puddings and all the vegetables on offer. He finished his plate with the help of copious amounts of Gravy. I was a lot more restrained, but still couldn't manage all I'd put on my plate! Great value for money, friendly staff, friendly cliental and lovely atmosphere. Now I know how a Carvery works, I will definitely go back. I'm 60, a Virgin at a Toby. Loved it.

Called as a last minute thought without booking. The greeter/server was really busy but was polite and didn't rush us. We really enjoyed our meal and found the meat and veg to be cooked well. To be fair i usually find Toby carvery's are pretty consistent, always serving nice food.

We have been coming to Toby for many years but this is the first time since it reopened it does look a lot better outside and nicely painted inside but still the same old tables and chairs we arrived just before our time by 5 mins and was told could be a while so get a drink and sit in the other area so looks like there starting that game plenty of tables empty so not happy about that we got 3 caverys and yet again still tight with the meat portions even has the price as risen a little the mash was hard must not have used butter in them glad you got a choice on large or small yorky pud and one of the staff dropped is mucky tea towel on the food just looked snd walked away no apology nd did not change that food thats was disgracefull ordered 3 fresh orange juices not sure what it was but did not look or taste of orange so it's a no more going for me pics to follow

I absolutely love Toby Carvery but when I came yesterday, I felt like we’d been shoved in a corner, no one really came to us to ask us what we actually wanted to eat and when we was sat waiting for someone for the bill, there was no one around. When someone was called over to our table, we ordered the kids ice creams and when they arrived, they’d already started melting like they’d been left on the side a while. I normally love coming to Toby but my experience yesterday wasn’t so great. The customer service was shocking.

Absolutely shocking from walking in. We were taken to a table at 1.30pm every table was littered with breakfast pots. No one came while we were sat for 2 hours to move them. No one came to take our order or ask what drinks we would like we sorted ourselves out. We then had to go find our own knife and forks. The beef was fatty and tasteless the pork was dry as a bone. The veg and potatoes had all dried up. No one came to ask if everything was ok. The coke was flat all over priced. Very Poor service and shocking food. Will not be back upper management should do a mystery shop and find out for themselves

Fabulous service and delicious food again. Thanks for the laughs Dale. It's always nice to be served by someone with a big smile.

Nice all you can eat breakfast With Yorkshire puds 10 out of 10 Went today 03/10/24 the food was very bad at best the roast beef was like old shoe leather the veg was cold and dried up the only thing good was the gravy shame won't be going again I will say I complend and was offered a different meat but was not willing to take the chance spoilt my granddaughters birthday meal and all for £75 for 4 shame on Toby carvery

Not a great experience yesterday afternoon, greeted by the host who insisted on lying to a simple request, very inconsistent attitudes from the front of house staff!

Well I’m sat here now writing this review from the Toby Carvery, Wakefield because for once it’s nice to come out for food and be totally happy! The breakfast buffet is one of the nicest I’ve ever been to, loads of choices and really well prepared quality food the staff we’re constantly filling up when items were getting low and we’re very friendly and attentive, toilets were well maintained and spotless it’s obvious the staff enjoy working here and keep the place in tip top condition and price? Under £20 for 2 X all you can eat breakfast with hot drinks! I paid more than that for a take out pizza!!! Brilliant service brilliant food will definitely be coming back keep up the good work guys.

Service behind the bar was poor, with a long wait. Due to the volume of people, there was a large cue that was not organised, the choice of meats was good however it was cut very thin, they should have been a surgeon.

Food was very dry especially the potatoes, the roast potatoes were too big so not cooked all the way through and the mash was that dry it was not fit for eating. Used to love going. Just been revamped which was needed. Most staff are friendly, manager/person in charge on the day looked scruffy clothing looked like nightwear, not professional at all.

Absolutely brilliant all round, nothing to complain about.

Went today at 7pm without booking a table. The team got us in within 20 minutes. Rhiannon served us and was absolutely fantastic. Really attentive and friendly. It really made sure we had a lovely evening

I had a breakfast it was quite bad the ash browns were very over cooked the bacon was fine but the potatos were hard and quite burns the bacon was dry and hard to cut and I did not enjoy this meal

It’s a toby carvery It’s gets really busy on a Sunday so booking required. Free parking. Good carvery selection including beef, turkey, gammon and lamb. Veg selection was ok, but lacking variety. Staff are very busy, but happy and smiling. We ordered vegetarian pies, kids had the meat selection, all good apart from receiving a salmon encroute instead of a vegetarian pie. Good job we do not have an allergy issue

Great carvery but so busy ran out of the huge Yorkshire puds but staff then brought the new ones out so that was really good. The area where the food was did get messy but food excellent

Worst breakfast I have had in a long time

Visited today for lunch and from the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome by staff members. The food was lovely and I had the carvery. I scored 4 stars but only because the peas were a little under cooked. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant. I highly recommend this place as it was also very good value for money.
