Bandit stole £25 from me. Dealt with a lovely lady (wetherspoons staff) regarding this issue. She saw the 'part' winnings paid. Machine turned off with 'error' tried turning it on and off multiple times didn't work. Went in the next day, bandit was on, but was told the engineer hasn't been out yet. Called again today (2 days after the issue) and was told the 'bandit guy's only saw a £1 winning. Yet it gave me £7 out of £32. I was told I'd have to contact the bandit companies customer service, which is fine. But I asked for this to be put in writing in an email, and they refused. In conclusion, the machine has stolen £25 from me and I can't get it back. I run a pub myself. I understand the 'blame games' but to refuse to put what they have verbally told me into writing so I can submit evidence to the company I need to contact is ridiculous. I will be returning to the pub tomorrow to hopefully resolve the issue. If the issue is resolved, I will happily take this review down and/or edit it.

Very disappointed visit/experience and was labled as a thief by the manager..... Group of 4 elderly ladies 66-86yr olds. Checked with bar staff the exact content of the meals ordered because of dietary requirements. I was reassured twice what was included in the meals that I wanted to order. I paid in FULL for the ordered meals x 4 covers. When served 1 of the meals x3 items was missing. I was told they were not included in the meal as previously reassured by Graham that these items were included... I was requested to pay for them. The waiter returned some time later and left x2 servings of the missing items obviously the rest of the meal had gone cold by now. I was ordered to go to the bar, whilst I was eating my tepid food, to pay the outstanding balance. It was agreed by the waiter it was OK to pay once I had finished my meal. Like a dutiful customer I went to pay the balance. I was told by two bar staff, one being graham that it was OK and that the balance had been waivered!!!. I went back to the table, to be challenged again by the server to pay the balance. One of our party members used the disabled facilities. She came out upset.... their was urine all on the floor and no toilet paper. Her trouser bottoms where soaked. Once AGAIN I returned to the bar to pay the balance. I asked to see the manager. 8 minutes later, guess who the rude server (the Manager) I found him aggressive and rude. I questioned the customer service I had received, the wrong information of the menu content, and consequently the price of my food ordered. The state of his customer disabled toilets was brought to his attention and my sisters disgusting toilet experience. Not once did I receive an apology........ I offered £2 of the £4 outstanding balance. And suggested the remainder wouldn't be paid and could be seen as a gesture of good will due to the poor service and total bad experience on this visit. At this point the manager called me a thief, took my picture on his body camera. Told me I was barred from the pub and I would be placed on 'pub watch'...... do I have anything to say positive about my visit to 6 Chimneys. YES THE DEPARTURE FROM THE BUILDING. I will be writing to JD Witherspoons head office regarding this experience and been categorised as a criminal and called a thief.....and had my photograph taken without my consent for 'pub watch'.....

I had high hopes with the refurb that this spoons would be great. When we first went in I enjoyed it and thought this could become a great base for me and my friends to catch up. However, the staff were rude to us, slammed our drinks on the table, when we ticked to have a straw on the app, and they didn’t bring us one so we asked for one we got the response “They’re at the bar but whatever…” and then had straws thrown on our table. Appalling. My friend is diabetic and had a bit of a funny turn and threw up, because the pub was full and they had the heating on (this even made me unwell). So we went to the beer garden, and discovered this was locked so we went to the front entrance. When we came to the entrance, the bouncer said “You can’t bring a glass out here” which is fine, but I explained my friend had had a funny turn due to being diabetic and said that she just wanted some air and some water, they then laughed at us and were mocking us. I’m not the sort to leave reviews, but I’ve come away from this experience quite upset, it is disgusting that my friend was unwell and explained her condition to just be laughed at and that as bouncers they didn’t think to seek medical attention (I thought they were trained in this?) Overall, I’d not recommend this. It’s been done up but it’s no different to before in terms of staff and the bouncers.

Long time since I've visited The Six Chimneys. Really like the refurbishment / expansion - plenty of room between the tables, so doesn't feel cramped like some of their other branches. Came in on Easter Monday 2024 for breakfast, just before 10:00. Not too busy and plenty of seats available, so was able to get a booth in the new section. Ordered a small breakfast with mushrooms and an American breakfast with black pudding, plus hot drinks. The app wasn't available for table service, so had to order at the bar. Staff were efficient and friendly and our meals arrived quickly. Yes, it's not a Gastropub, so yo get what you pay for. Food was tasty and good value. Will definitely come again.

He then pointed to the bottles of Moretti in the fridge cabinet, no apology. She then served me, poured the two pints I ordered, left to settle but disappeared for nearly five minutes. Ordered another pint of the same drink for arriving friend from a different server. Paid the two separate bar staff but the price per pint didn't match up.

At last after 5 months refurbishment the 6 Chimneys has re-opened. It's now much more in keeping with other Wetherspoons pubs - it's large and spacious, well-decorated and with a large beer garden. The place was packed out but we managed to find a seat. However, I was so uncomfortable due to the arctic blast coming out of the ceiling air vents I had to move. I really hate having to sit in a pub with my coat on,( like most people were having to do) but it was so cold. I know energy is expensive so they can't afford to heat it, but why have freezing cold air swirling about instead.! I moved nearer to the serving area which was a bit warmer but there were loads of washing up bowls piled high with dirty crockery on the floor - not a pretty sight. I know the staff are probably finding their feet, and it was busy but it looked terrible (and a trip hazard too I should think). We decided to move on elsewhere. Such a shame, but we'll be back when it's warm enough to sit outside.

Visited for an afternoon beer and was left pretty disappointed, I prefer to try the guest beers in wetherspoons wherever I go as I am not a lover of lager. The first beer I asked for was Acorn gold and was told sorry they had run out, so as I'd already paid decided to try a pint of Spitfire and that was also not available, as a last resort I asked for a pint of Abbot ale as the only other guest ale was Acorn old moor porter which I didn't fancy and low and behold the answer was sorry but, no Abbot ale, at that point I gave up and asked for my money back and walked out, very poor service in my opinion, as a result I walked into the nearby Black Rock pub and enjoyed a drink there instead. Wetherspoons management in the Six Chimneys need to check stock levels better to avoid this happening to other people.
