The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Had a fantastic 'Yorkshire Deal' fish and chips meal at Quayside. Whenever we are in Whitby Quayside is our fish and chips restaurant of choice, we almost always sit in to eat although you can get take away. The quality of the food is outstanding, perhaps a bit dearer than some places, but it's worth it. The Yorkshire deal allows either cod or haddock (I always opt for haddock), chips, mushy peas, a slice of bread and butter and a pot or tea. The staff did allow my wife to swap the mushy peas for gravy. The food came out swiftly and we enjoyed them in a lovely decorated and spacious restaurant. Quayside have not tried to cram too many tables in, which makes for a great meal experience. We will no doubt be back there later in the year when we visit Whitby next.

Really enjoyed it here, the sun was out so sat in the beer garden, what more could we have asked for..

One of West Yorkshire's finest Spoon's! Great beer, good food and amazing staff. Would recommend!

Food was okay , the kitchen staff need to be more on point…had a few minor issues but after speaking with the manager Alex they were soon sorted thank you in the end .

Came across this lovely village pub today..Set in beautiful surroundings...service by Stephen and a young lady (didn't get her name) was excellent..We both had the fish and chips...Can honestly say the fish was the best I've ever had and the triple cooked chips were to die for..All in all..a brilliant lunch and I would definitely recommend..Will be back!!!

Such a lovely place, and the service is always exceptional... but the price increases over the past few weeks are crazy. £3.70 for a half glass of Coke Zero... nearly £15 for a double gin and tonic. I understand NMW and Employers' NI increases have impacted the hospitality businesses the most, but even still the costs are crazy. The food was reasonably priced but also lacking in taste and quantity. Such a shame.

Costa consistently provides prompt, efficient service with a friendly staff, making it my preferred location for early morning coffee.

I went there to perform with Aiko and I loved the venue and the staff! We would love to come back!

We go quite regularly and the food is gorgeous, we had burgers this time and I can honestly say the Mac and Cheese burger was the best burger I have ever had! My daughters love it too. The staff are lovely and friendly. Can highly recommend.

It's a very generic coffee shop. Didn't feel especially clean.

Love this place. Friendly, great atmosphere and you can't find better food for the money anywhere else.
