Really enjoyed it here, the sun was out so sat in the beer garden, what more could we have asked for..

Had the best time having food & drinks here. All the bartenders were lovely especially Abby, extremely polite & friendly. Food was great too. Will definitely be returning!

Lovely, clean and friendly, place to stop off for some lunch. Had the lamb kofta wraps with sweet potato fries - delicious!

Just popped in for a quick tea and we had the burgers on offer bogof the burgers were lush and the service excellent by barley.

GF food not the greatest choice or the tastiest and you have to download a menu as they don't have copies... Standard food not really exciting either menu .... Defo geared up for young children

Rude staff!! Diva behind the bar thought it was okay to speak to us like dirt on his shoe! The food was a shambolick not as what is advertised at all turned up with frozen chicken nuggets with a sprinkle of paprika. Chicken wings were dry & feeble

Visited on Easter Sunday with the family and we all had a great time. Food was served really quickly, it was all hot and tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful! Would recommend if you are around Clifton Moor area

The food was burnt to the point it was hard to cut it in half. The salad had dirt/mud in I could tell this because there was brown mud spots all over the salad It took them nearly 40 mins to give us food baring in mind there was only a couple of customers in the building Also their customer service was appalling they kept trying to overcharge us for there ‘family feast meal’ All in all their customer service and disappointing grade of food made us very disappointed.

Gorgeous food, plenty of choice and really friendly staff. Been twice for food whilst staying in York and couldn't fault them. They were accommodating for my brother who is really fussy with food and has autism and was able to do his favourite meal which wasn't on the menu. Food price is really good and you get a great portion size as well. If you have a blue light card you also get 15% off food 😁. Would highly recommend

Thank you to Callum (manager) and the rest of his team for amazing, friendly and quick service. I held my quarterly team meeting here for a working lunch and after work drinks, everything from the service to the food was amazing. Callum was very polite, helpful and accommodating. We will certainly visit again and use Flying Legends for our future working lunches and after work drinks. Looking forward to bringing my family one weekend.

Had the opportunity to pop into flying legends York Clifton moor today ( 17/03/25) and unfortunately can definitely say we will not be returning. Ordered a pub classic fish and chips with what was supposed to be a sizzling plate of grilled onions peppers topped with Southern fried chicken with a side of halloumi fries and bread and butter. The fish and chips with mushy peas was very much below standard, the chips was cold the fish was soggy for some reason even though the mushy peas was lovely the rest of the meal was not up to par. The sizzling plate with a side of corn and sweet potato fries was really awful, southern fried chicken that was too crispy on one side and soggy on the other because of the wet, bland cold onions and peppers with the added bonus of the chicken been pink on some pieces with that been said the sweet potato fries was definitely better. Customer service was minimal with no enquiry on allergies and no check back on meals even though other surrounding tables received one.

Ordered food at Saturday lunchtime. They had run out of the choice I wanted, not even halfway through the weekend, I would expect this on a Sunday evening after a busy weekend, but not at the beginning. I presume they did not order enough. So I ordered the slider burger selection instead. The fries were OK, soft not crispy and very pale. However, the burgers were all awful, the patties were like cardboard having been cooked too long and were at the stage of curling up and crunchy. The chicken strips were also overcooked, very dark brown in colour, not golden. The coating was hard instead of crispy and the chicken flesh inside was dry and hard. It is not hard to cook a burger properly even if it is a mini one. I know because I have been cooking professionally for over 40 years. The restaurant was not too busy for a lunchtime so there should be no pressure. The only good thing I can say about this meal was that the slider buns were thawed adequately. In total contrast, my daughter and her partner had the sharing grill platter with the camenbert dip and it was cooked to perfection, totally different chicken strips to the ones I received.

Unfortunately not very clean or tidy - a few free tables but unfortunately they hadn’t been cleared, we cleared one table on to another then ordered our drinks - we had two rounds and the tables still hadn’t be cleared. The toilets were nice and clean tho! Parking wasn’t an issue either.

Excellent food,very full after meal. Good value for money.

Came to eat here with my husband and baby. Ordered a large drink of coca cola with no ice and was half full in a small glass. The glass looked dirty. Portion size are too small to say I spent over £25 on two meals, Felt like I've been robbed. Never again please don't waste your money here people. Also staff look miserable!

Couldn't review food as just in for drinks but all the food coming out looks and smells lovely. Em the lovely girl behind the bar always serves with a smile as do all the staff. Great pub.

The food was ok, nothing special. The place was clean but tired, it is too big to have much of an atmosphere. The space could be split in two, it would then give a cosy feel. There were maybe 2 dozen people spread all over. The music was loud and so talking was really difficult. The staff were very nice and polite . Quite disappointed.

Food took forever to arrive but when it finally came was enjoyable

1st time I'd been in a few yrs, gone downhill IMO! Cutlery was disgusting, I had to wioe them all with baby wipes after id found yge cleanest ones I could! Also had to clear and clean the table ourselves from the previous people! Food was not great, I ordered the mixed Sunday roast, turkey ( if u can call it that) was inedible, the beef was passible, ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, it was dry and very very crunchy! The best bit out of all 6 meals was my sons desert, it was massive and he loved it !

Had an evening meal here 23rd Feb. Staff very pleasant and hard working quick service at the bar food was nice and well cooked. prices are very good nice and cosy place to eat. 5 star rating from me.

Our lunch was very good. Freshly cooked and served efficiently. One small criticism I asked for the table to be wiped and was asked to wait, consequently the table never got wiped.

Joke of a place… went in Friday with two mates, got to the bar to order, was waiting in next to the bar and was next in the queue to order. There were two servers on the till and both had customer. Natural you would think that any normal person would serve the next paying customer, but instead another person was served next to me and I counted an additional 3 people to my right where served before me. Asked the bar staff if I was invisible and asked to speak with a manager - spoke to the ‘manager’ and was told we just serve people in front of us - I asked “was I not in front you” they then replied “yes, but I don’t see you”. Said the staff I am not putting money into here and ended walking out. Rude staff. Terrible service (albeit no service) and would not waste your time. Far better places to eat for a quick bite.

Proper pub grub, steak and ale pie was delicious proper chunky pieces of steak! Cracking pint of ale to wash it down. Ordered on the app using the QR code is provided! Found Callum and Beth very helpful!

Visited this lunch time, we had meals from the lunch menu. Both delicious the service from Callum and Amber was great both very attentive.

If you are hungry adult. expect a 99p Iceland type meal enough for a small child.... the staff are brilliant atmosphere really nice... food I would feed to a pet

Great pub, cheap and cheerful and lovely food. Me and my partner bring our daughter here often for a play in the wacky and then some food after - they do a lovely lasagne! Staff are great and always happy to help. The Manager Callum is also super nice and helpful. Great place will continue to dine here!

We popped in for a beer and some food all right at first, but ordering a second drink there was no staff behind the counter eventually a bartender appeared and just served the nearest customer to him, didn’t have the grace or manners to ask who’s first. We pointed this out to another staff member and took our business elsewhere.

Food is wonderful here but there should be an adult only section. I didn't come for a meal to listen to screaming kids. I wouldn't have sat my kids near all the adults if they were screaming

Sunday dinner with drink £10. Excellent price well worth the price.

We were a party of 4 and from our arrival we had a lovely meal and experience - the food was delicious and cooked perfectly, the staff were friendly and polite. Because we were so impressed I have already booked us in for Christmas Day this year.

Meal was quickly presented and exceptionally hot. Food tasty however the mushroom pie didn't contain a full mushroom was mostly juice which was disappointing.

I was very impressed by the efficiency of booking and the courtesy and welcome we received. As two families meeting together, one from Sheffield and one from Durham, York is an ideal venue and having a Wacky Warehouse to keep the children entertained while we waited for food, was brilliant. We were a party of 19, 16 adults and 3 children and were accommodated in a separate part of the venue so we could all talk and interact freely without disturbing other customers. This had been carefully thought through by the staff there and it was an excellent idea.

Can't go wrong with their £10 Sunday lunch and a drink offer

The service was excellent. They had a function on later that evening so lots of tables were reserved but they tried hard to seat everyone that came in. They had lots of staff who were very attentive and checked we were OK. We come regularly and always have great service.

Well what a disappointment to finish our weekend away in York!! The bar staff were friendly however the 2 girls working clearing tables and bringing out food looked like they certainly didn’t want to be there. Rude and arrogant. Get another job girls because you certainly aren’t happy in the one you’re in. The food was ok but the carrots were very very undercooked and we saw quite a lot of other guests also leaving them. The puddings were different when we both ordered the same and when we asked why we were just told ran out of cream. Surely you either apologise as you’re putting it down on the table or ask us beforehand. The toilets were awful too. The word legend in the pubs name certainly needs to be changed. I certainly won’t be visiting here again and they certainly didn’t want to hear my complaints !!!!

Fabulous food.. I havnt been to the flying legend for years... The quad burger was to die for with salt n pepper chips topped with man n cheese.. We couldn't finish it so the lively staff gave us some foil to take them home.. 100% going to come more often xx

Always good value for money and amazing food for the price yes its not mitchelling but these chains arnt you get what you see . The staff are always so helpful and are usually ran off their feet. They do seem to get flack off the undesirable customers who also make an awful mess . But most appreciate them . I would say it is by far the best pub chain place to eat in York easily.

All good had a nice meal not overly busy good value for your money didn't have to wait long and nice healpfull staff, easy to find on maps, and nice place to take the family, I took my niece out as I live in Northamptonshire so it's nice to treat her once in a while didn't have any problems getting a table at short notice it was a week day/ evening so might be different at the weekends 😀

Just been in for lunch at the Flying Legends. Had a small hiccup with our order but the Manager was incredibly helpful and apologetic and resolved the issue immediately.

Right well I booked a table for a 16th birthday.the service was bad from go .the food come out cold ! Accused the 16 yr old with me Of swearing 🤬 the manager lied and was out of order !! I was told I would get a refund for the bad food . experience was bad here !!!

Came in for a quick Monday night grill. Food was good value for money. Natalie was exceptionally welcoming and friendly.

Would never visit again!! Only given 1 star as I couldn't give none!! I was in a group of 8. My own meal came out freezing cold as did all 3 of my children's meals! They were sent back 15 minutes later they were brought back out luke warm!! One meal was missing completely but the sauce that came with it was sent out which went cold, when asked for a replacement as it was no fault of our own they took it away and microwaved it leaving thick skin on the top so still couldn't be used. We all ended up eating at different times due to their negligence! We ordered at 8pm finally getting our last order brought out at 8.50pm my children were starving! The manager was pleasent and helpful but the waiting staff were rude rolling their eyes because their food was not even satisfactory!! Definitely avoid

Ordered of the super special menu- tandoori chicken sizzler came piping hot on a skillet, my friend ordered the New York chicken the breast was massive the whole menu had great value with deals every day. My server Callum was so attentive recommending me the new cherry kraken rum and asked if I’d like fries to go with my food Natalie brought over our food with a nice warm welcome. The pub is clean and well kept although could do with some investments. I will certainly be recording it to my friends.
