The Britannia in Leeds

Popped in for a couple of drinks nice chilled out atmosphere and some of the best pub food you can find in Leeds well worth the price you get what you pay four.

Great food, delicious, service was very good, atmosphere was good,going to try it midweek sample the main menu

Lovely meal but none of us ate very much of the vegetables that came with the meal. It was mainly swede which tasted quite strong and a few green beans, literally 4 pieces of carrots and 3 little pieces of cabbage. My partner and his god mother had the beans I had the pieces of carrots and picked the 3 pieces of cabbage out. Luckily we ordered cauliflower cheese and some mashed carrots and swede otherwise I would of practically had no vegetables. Starters where lovely and the meal was lovely just a pity the choice of vegetables that came with the meal wasn't so good

Excellent food here at great prices. Their steak and ale pie, with chips and plenty of fresh vegetables is our favourite. Shouldn't be saying this but the meal is so substantial, we're always too full for a dessert. Great find

We normally come here as a family regularly for sunday lunch. Very disappointing meal on Sunday. Beef was dry as a bone and overcooked wasn't enjoyable. Reported to assistant manager and was told she would let the chef know. No offer of discount or say a free drink. Still charged us full price for each meal. Not great customer service. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

We both had steak pie, chips were OK pie had be microwaved to death veg was good, beer theakston bitter was well very poor even both bar persons commented on how flat it was but didn't offer to replace, shocking not be going again any time soon ,very Disappointing

Absolutely delicious- steak pie & chicken & ham pie, chunky wedges & mixed veg cooked to perfection with big pieces of chicken & steak - highly recommended 😊

I recently came here with a friend for a drink. Heard such lovely things and being new to the area was hoping this would become my new local . The bar itself is nice , friendly staff and the toilets were immaculate. Unfortunately the prices were shocking ….for a white wine spritzer and a pint of larger £12.80p!! That’s even expensive for city centre prices . We got the same round in a pub in Pudsey (not spoons ) for £8.40!!! Unfortunately won’t be returning. Such a shame as it looks like a lovely little pub.

Visited with family. 4 adults and 3 children. Every one of our Meals were delicious. Large portions and good quality food.

Gotten uber eats from this place a few times. I think the accompanying vegetables to the roasts and pies has only been good once, every other time they've been sour, clearly gone off. It's happened a couple times with the mash too. It's a shame because the meat and pie are good but the vegetables are pretty much ALWAYS rancid. We finally paid the price last night after we all got food poisoning. Never ordering here again.

We're quite local and have been meaning to eat here for ages- I'm so glad we did! Superb meals and service, delicious home made food and a clean tidy pub. I liked the separate areas with a few tables in each which added to the cosy feel and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. We had 5oz rump steak and beautiful fat chips, with creamy mushroom sauce - hubby loved this. I had chicken ham and mushroom pie with fresh veg, and although the mash wasn't very creamy it was a delicious meal which I'd have again. We actually came for the roast dinner (served daily) but will save that for one Sunday very soon and will be back to this little Pudsey gem.

Lovely staff very helpful,food was excellent and deserts were good as well plus having cask ale on was a bonus 11/10 all round enjoyed every minute we were there

Great local, great pies and always a good pint. I'd visit more regularly if it was dog friendly inside, for when the weather is sour!

What a gem of a place! We ate here for the first time in April and have been back twice more since then. Such a friendly, welcoming team. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the Sunday lunches we all had are great and the quality the same as 7-steps, & excellent value for money. We will keep recommending!

We went for breakfast first thing , the lady serving was very polite and friendly . The full English was delicious

Lovely food , we had braising steak , fish and chips and roast turkey. Service was very good. Staff are very pleasant and obliging .Food and drink prices are very good here . Nice place to come to again . Here again visiting Leeds, 3 weeks later. Food and service again v good. Despite being busy the staff are consistently pleasant.

A friendly pub with very helpful staff and excellent food. I meet up with guys to celebrate our birthdays.

Me and my family wentv through the week and the waitress was lovely but the food let us down.

This is Steak and Onion Pie and Mash. It had obviously been stood in the kitchen until it was cold, placed in the microwave, and reheated. The pie had been cremated, probably twice, and the gravy, if that's what it was, a congealed mess. The accompanying vegetables were stone cold and, when pointed out to the waitress, she patted them with her bare hand, and exclaimed that she would reheat them in the trusty aforementioned microwave. Totally inedible. Appalling. Health inspectors would have a field day. There is something not right in this establishment.

Usually reasonable for the price but the food is inconsistent. Customer service not great with complaints.

This is our place for Sunday roast (even during the week), as the food is good and decently priced. It's always busy when we go and we never think of making a reservation, but the staff almost always finds a way to squeeze us in.

Good pub. The Sunday roasts were lovely! Absolutley massive and really tasty - lovely Yorkshire Good selection of drinks and nice table. Fairprices too. We enjoyed. Weirdly though, we asked to book for 6pm and they told us no as they were "absolutley full after 6pm". We booked for 5:30. Come 6/6:30 there wasn't a soul in the pub aside from our table and seemingly all the staff sat drinking at the bar. Very strange to decline bookings after 6pm....

Massive Thankyou to The Britannia pudsey what a lovely Family birthday Dinner we had for my sons 21st birthday, there was 24 of us and everything was great we were well looked after and everyone had a lovely meal, not one complaint all our meals were hot and delicious with not one mistake. We will certainly consider The Britannia for future family get-togethers for sure, Thankyou once again.

Table service and really good home cooked food good choice of menu and caters for everyone .

Great food. Good value for your money

We tried to have a drink at this place: times only to be told they were closing. This was around 9 pm. 3rd time “lucky” we ordered pints of ale. It was a little sour but passable. The place has all the characteristics of a great old pub; beautiful building, but, there is something missing. To say it lacked atmosphere would be an understatement. We drank 2 pints then left feeling empty. It actually felt as if the very life force was slightly being drained from us. Didn’t have the chance to try the food but relief after exiting was tangible. I think it would be a good place for “Help! My pub is haunted”. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Lovely cooked breakfast this morning. Highly recommended.

Loverly meals and nice atmosphere

Waited over an hr for 2x burgers 1x gamon. Not very busy. Left without food when it got to 1hr 10 mins. No explanation of why taking so long!

Booked Birthday Lunch Party of 16 Family members Good Friday 29th March upon entry with wheelchair accessible side entrance, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and very courteous to us all, all meals were prepared fresh and and cooked to perfection, they even produced special diet dishes second to none absolutely HIGHLY RECCOMEND BRITANNIA PUDSEY atmosphere superb as is the beautiful food. Thank you Brittannia for a fabulous afternoon and we will have no hesitation in returning to this Family run establishment 10/10 with 5 Gold Stars from us all. Food was delicious and staff were really friendly. Definitely recomend for home cooked food and great service . Update : returned to our new favourite and this time had the homemade pies ( steak/onion &chicken/ham / mushrooms) which were complimented by roasts/ chips and veg and gravy . The pies were beautiful along with the compliments, service was friendly but not intrusive. Quality homemade food at its best . Could get really fat going through this menu , roll on my gardening season so i can work off the excess. The best part of this experience was the fact it doesn't cost the earth to eat here and that really helps in todays economic times . Well done The Britannia.

Went today with my cousin and uncle. Also my cousins daughter, husband and her granddaughter. Had a lovely meal, plenty of food on your plate also very good food. Would highly recommend this place. 👌 xx Happy

What a really pleasant Suprise , I came here today the 23/02/24 with my sister in law for a lunch date (her recommendation) having never been here before myself , I had a little wonder round (having worked hospitality for years )my curiosity got the better of me and this is by far a little gem of a family run business, lovely , gorgeous home cooked food the chefs should be proud ,very plentiful, The owner Emma was amazing made us feel really welcome ,the waitresses were amazing too , I have found pubs like these are very far and few between , will 100% be back thank you.

Still a lovely pub to chill with family and friends. Good food and pleasant staff. Just a shame the food was far too hot too enjoy, strange thing too call out really but it's has burnt our mouths 😂 very nice when it cooled down.

What a really pleasant family afternoon we had at the Britannia. All the staff, Particularly Hannah, couldn’t do enough to make our visit a special one and nothing was too much trouble. My son and I were the first to arrive and were shown to a very nice table but when my sister arrived Hannah noticed that she has some mobility issues so offered to relocate us to a more suitable spot. The bar is excellently stocked and the beer kept in great condition (especially the Timothy Taylor’s!) and the table service was always at hand but never oppressive or rushed. Now to the food… Upon looking at the menu you might think that because the prices are so good, the quality may be lacking. You would be completely wrong! Our party of 4 all ordered different dishes from the menu but we all agreed that the food was outstanding. Restaurant quality at an affordable price. There’s no doubt we will be returning to the Britannia, it’s just unfortunate some of us live quite a distance away, but we’ll be back just as soon as we can!

We called for a quick bite to eat as we were waiting nearby for our dog to have his haircut. They were full and we hadn't booked but the staff were very helpful and fit us in ASAP they even were short staffed and had loads of bookings for Xmas parties in but they kept their cool and carried on. The food was lovely. We will definitely be back again

Went for Sunday lunch, it was ok

Was warned food would be a 45 mins wait … okay …. More like 2 hours. Party of 5 all off us agreed the meat was dry, chips burnt to a crisp, mash looked like it been sat out a week. What a waste of our time and money. Will not be returning and will discourage anyone else going there.

Visited last week and was extremely disappointed. The food took an hour to come and when it arrived all three meals were disappointing. I ordered an omelette that was drowned in cheese and so was heavy and greasy, the burger that was ordered was also overloaded with red Leicester cheese and was greasy and a chilli chicken sandwich was covered in a rich saice with no salad. Wont be returning or recommending

Waiting over an hour for food , this has happened both times I have visited

The servers where nice just service as a whole was slow. It was over an hour before we got our mains and about 40 mins for our starters. The food was ok, my burger was served on a bread board and not a plate.

Fantastic eatery been back again will return again too. Wonderful atmosphere and great food you certainly won't leave hungry. 5 star

Excellent pub on the periphery of Pudsey,

the Britannia is a fantastic pub the staff are very good well informed . the food is gorgeous try the hunters chicken full filling and tasty .The atmosphere is fantastic peaceful and pleasant .

Super busy when we arrived, only one person on the bar, she was rushed off her feet but to be fair she handled the situation well. A lot of food and drinks were being ordered. We were told it'd be about a hour waits for food, it wasn't we waited about half a hour before our order arrived. Staff attentive, clearing glasses and plates away with a friendly approach 👍

Lovely pub food at an honest price and served with a smile. Regular portions are enormous so bring your appetize! Recommend.

Great place with fantastic food

Afternoon tea was delicious. Excellent value for money.

My wife goes here with her freinds and recommended that I try it out.....well what outstanding food and service. I had the garlic mushrooms for starter and then halloumi burger for main. It came with a warm baguette and lovely thick cut chips. Safe to say I will definitely be popping back in very soon.

Great Sunday lunch, Yorkshire Pudding with slow cooked beef, wonderful. Good Sticky Toffee Pudding to finish.

I was pleasantly surprised when we went for an evening meal. I wasn't expecting Gastropub, but the food was pretty good, its honest "pub grub", no frills, but good main courses, excellent chips and a decent pint to boot. Add in friendly and hard working bar and kitchen staff and you have a winning combination. I'll be back as Arnie would say!

Myself and some friends visited the Britannia for a bottomless brunch and in all honesty I have to say it was one of the best bottomless brunches I've ever had. The staff couldn't do more for us. The drinks were flowing constantly (with lots of drinks choices) and the food was delish. We had the best evening.

The buffet was good and well presented and the staff friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue.

No trouble booking on the day for 5:30pm. Car park not big and yellow lines on street immediately outside the pub so at very busy times you may have to park on a side street nearby. Decor modern and pleasant. Popular pub as most tables were occupied by families and couples. Comfortable seating. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good hand pulled beer. Good home cooked food. Piping hot when arrived at our table.

We did the bottomless brunch for my daughters birthday. It was fabulous from start to finish. We chose the afternoon tea with an extra sharer. The cocktails were flowing, the food was lovely and the staff as always were amazing. We’ve already booked our next one.

We had to wait at least an hour and half for our table, despite booking. We gave the benefit of the doubt as it was mother's day. One of our party asked for a discount which was given but when she left the team member was heard by another member of our party taking the mic out of the person who had asked for a discount. We didn't get a single apology for the delay and no sort of guidance to how long we would be waiting. The food was ok but to be honest, by the time we got seated, alot of our party had passed hunger. We tried to be patient as we can fully understand how difficult these days can be for the team but I feel like the organisation was lacking which had a huge knock on affect

Went for my father in laws birthday for food , my inlaws are regular visitors and rave about the food and boy the food did not disappoint! . Had a beer battered Brie for starters , delicious and light , then the pork belly roast ..even more scrumptious! .Everything home made , piping hot and generous ! .The prices are so reasonable and they have obviously tuned into their customers. Lovely , friendly staff , definitely back soon.

Eaten here 4 or 5 times now, always great food & a friendly welcome, the portion sizes are massive for what you pay. Update; it's still the best place to eat in Pudsey.

I cannot rate the place or the team any higher. Booked my mum's 80th birthday lunch here. Due to a fall and a subsequent hospital stay it was on, then off, then back on again. The team couldn't have been more accomodating and the food and service on the day were outstanding. Thank you for having us all, we will be back xx

Probably one of the nicest Roast's I've ever had (Lamb Shank) piping hot food, tasty, good size portion, very reasonably priced and friendly, accommodating staff. I'll be back...
