The Britannia in Leeds

We tried to have a drink at this place: times only to be told they were closing. This was around 9 pm. 3rd time “lucky” we ordered pints of ale. It was a little sour but passable. The place has all the characteristics of a great old pub; beautiful building, but, there is something missing. To say it lacked atmosphere would be an understatement. We drank 2 pints then left feeling empty. It actually felt as if the very life force was slightly being drained from us. Didn’t have the chance to try the food but relief after exiting was tangible. I think it would be a good place for “Help! My pub is haunted”. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Lovely cooked breakfast this morning. Highly recommended.

Loverly meals and nice atmosphere

Waited over an hr for 2x burgers 1x gamon. Not very busy. Left without food when it got to 1hr 10 mins. No explanation of why taking so long!

Fresh hot food at very reasonable prices.

Love this pub. Have been going for years. Decade actually. Food is deliious and the atmosphere great. The owners are very friendly and it makes all the difference

Booked Birthday Lunch Party of 16 Family members Good Friday 29th March upon entry with wheelchair accessible side entrance, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and very courteous to us all, all meals were prepared fresh and and cooked to perfection, they even produced special diet dishes second to none absolutely HIGHLY RECCOMEND BRITANNIA PUDSEY atmosphere superb as is the beautiful food. Thank you Brittannia for a fabulous afternoon and we will have no hesitation in returning to this Family run establishment 10/10 with 5 Gold Stars from us all. The service was absolutely appalling. Got my meal wrong twice. The drinks were super expensive and the food wasn’t as good as expected.

Food was delicious and staff were really friendly. Definitely recomend for home cooked food and great service . Update : returned to our new favourite and this time had the homemade pies ( steak/onion &chicken/ham / mushrooms) which were complimented by roasts/ chips and veg and gravy . The pies were beautiful along with the compliments, service was friendly but not intrusive. Quality homemade food at its best . Could get really fat going through this menu , roll on my gardening season so i can work off the excess. The best part of this experience was the fact it doesn't cost the earth to eat here and that really helps in todays economic times . Well done The Britannia.

Went today with my cousin and uncle. Also my cousins daughter, husband and her granddaughter. Had a lovely meal, plenty of food on your plate also very good food. Would highly recommend this place. 👌 xx Happy

What a really pleasant Suprise , I came here today the 23/02/24 with my sister in law for a lunch date (her recommendation) having never been here before myself , I had a little wonder round (having worked hospitality for years )my curiosity got the better of me and this is by far a little gem of a family run business, lovely , gorgeous home cooked food the chefs should be proud ,very plentiful, The owner Emma was amazing made us feel really welcome ,the waitresses were amazing too , I have found pubs like these are very far and few between , will 100% be back thank you.

Still a lovely pub to chill with family and friends. Good food and pleasant staff. Just a shame the food was far too hot too enjoy, strange thing too call out really but it's has burnt our mouths 😂 very nice when it cooled down.

What a really pleasant family afternoon we had at the Britannia. All the staff, Particularly Hannah, couldn’t do enough to make our visit a special one and nothing was too much trouble. My son and I were the first to arrive and were shown to a very nice table but when my sister arrived Hannah noticed that she has some mobility issues so offered to relocate us to a more suitable spot. The bar is excellently stocked and the beer kept in great condition (especially the Timothy Taylor’s!) and the table service was always at hand but never oppressive or rushed. Now to the food… Upon looking at the menu you might think that because the prices are so good, the quality may be lacking. You would be completely wrong! Our party of 4 all ordered different dishes from the menu but we all agreed that the food was outstanding. Restaurant quality at an affordable price. There’s no doubt we will be returning to the Britannia, it’s just unfortunate some of us live quite a distance away, but we’ll be back just as soon as we can!

We called for a quick bite to eat as we were waiting nearby for our dog to have his haircut. They were full and we hadn't booked but the staff were very helpful and fit us in ASAP they even were short staffed and had loads of bookings for Xmas parties in but they kept their cool and carried on. The food was lovely. We will definitely be back again

Awesome food, great price and huge portion s staff are awesome. The best place to eat by far. American friends were very impressed.

Went for Sunday lunch, it was ok

Was warned food would be a 45 mins wait … okay …. More like 2 hours. Party of 5 all off us agreed the meat was dry, chips burnt to a crisp, mash looked like it been sat out a week. What a waste of our time and money. Will not be returning and will discourage anyone else going there.

Visited last week and was extremely disappointed. The food took an hour to come and when it arrived all three meals were disappointing. I ordered an omelette that was drowned in cheese and so was heavy and greasy, the burger that was ordered was also overloaded with red Leicester cheese and was greasy and a chilli chicken sandwich was covered in a rich saice with no salad. Wont be returning or recommending

The servers where nice just service as a whole was slow. It was over an hour before we got our mains and about 40 mins for our starters. The food was ok, my burger was served on a bread board and not a plate.

Excellent pub on the periphery of Pudsey,

the Britannia is a fantastic pub the staff are very good well informed . the food is gorgeous try the hunters chicken full filling and tasty .The atmosphere is fantastic peaceful and pleasant .

Super busy when we arrived, only one person on the bar, she was rushed off her feet but to be fair she handled the situation well. A lot of food and drinks were being ordered. We were told it'd be about a hour waits for food, it wasn't we waited about half a hour before our order arrived. Staff attentive, clearing glasses and plates away with a friendly approach 👍

Lovely pub food at an honest price and served with a smile. Regular portions are enormous so bring your appetize! Recommend.

Great place with fantastic food

Afternoon tea was delicious. Excellent value for money.

My wife goes here with her freinds and recommended that I try it out.....well what outstanding food and service. I had the garlic mushrooms for starter and then halloumi burger for main. It came with a warm baguette and lovely thick cut chips. Safe to say I will definitely be popping back in very soon.

Great Sunday lunch, Yorkshire Pudding with slow cooked beef, wonderful. Good Sticky Toffee Pudding to finish.

I was pleasantly surprised when we went for an evening meal. I wasn't expecting Gastropub, but the food was pretty good, its honest "pub grub", no frills, but good main courses, excellent chips and a decent pint to boot. Add in friendly and hard working bar and kitchen staff and you have a winning combination. I'll be back as Arnie would say!

Myself and some friends visited the Britannia for a bottomless brunch and in all honesty I have to say it was one of the best bottomless brunches I've ever had. The staff couldn't do more for us. The drinks were flowing constantly (with lots of drinks choices) and the food was delish. We had the best evening.

The buffet was good and well presented and the staff friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue.

I've been going here for years, and it always hits the spot!

No trouble booking on the day for 5:30pm. Car park not big and yellow lines on street immediately outside the pub so at very busy times you may have to park on a side street nearby. Decor modern and pleasant. Popular pub as most tables were occupied by families and couples. Comfortable seating. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good hand pulled beer. Good home cooked food. Piping hot when arrived at our table.

We did the bottomless brunch for my daughters birthday. It was fabulous from start to finish. We chose the afternoon tea with an extra sharer. The cocktails were flowing, the food was lovely and the staff as always were amazing. We’ve already booked our next one.

We had to wait at least an hour and half for our table, despite booking. We gave the benefit of the doubt as it was mother's day. One of our party asked for a discount which was given but when she left the team member was heard by another member of our party taking the mic out of the person who had asked for a discount. We didn't get a single apology for the delay and no sort of guidance to how long we would be waiting. The food was ok but to be honest, by the time we got seated, alot of our party had passed hunger. We tried to be patient as we can fully understand how difficult these days can be for the team but I feel like the organisation was lacking which had a huge knock on affect

Went for my father in laws birthday for food , my inlaws are regular visitors and rave about the food and boy the food did not disappoint! . Had a beer battered Brie for starters , delicious and light , then the pork belly roast ..even more scrumptious! .Everything home made , piping hot and generous ! .The prices are so reasonable and they have obviously tuned into their customers. Lovely , friendly staff , definitely back soon.

Eaten here 4 or 5 times now, always great food & a friendly welcome, the portion sizes are massive for what you pay. Update; it's still the best place to eat in Pudsey.

I cannot rate the place or the team any higher. Booked my mum's 80th birthday lunch here. Due to a fall and a subsequent hospital stay it was on, then off, then back on again. The team couldn't have been more accomodating and the food and service on the day were outstanding. Thank you for having us all, we will be back xx

Couldn't fault a thing! Fabulous choice. Delicious Sunday lunch was had by all with one starter & 2 extras ordered for the teen. Requested they came with the mains & nothing was a problem. Four of us went for a meal. Lovely pub, plenty to choose from on the menu including a few vegetarian options. Service with a smile from all staff. Good size portions and very nice food. First time visiting but look forward to our next visit.

Lovely cosy pub with spacious rooms. Staff friendly and welcoming. You can dine in or takeaway. Alcoholic drinks are limited and a bit pricey. Hot drinks are reasonably priced.

Went for lunch with 10 friend's from walking group. We were made to feel very welcome and the food and service was excellent

We were very disappointed as we booked for a Christmas meal and were told there would be Christmas music on. Our receipt said Chrismas meal for 7pm for 10 of us . Nothing had been arranged and staff thought we had come for normal menu. Food was ok when it came but a long wait and no atmosphere. Plus we had to queue at bar for 10mins to pay. Only one person on behind bar all waiting staff had left - we felt unwelcome . Their meals at lunchtime are fine but we won't be booking a Christmas meal again. We never even got an apology for the long long wait or the way we were treated They said our preorder was locked in the office and the had no key !

Sadly it was a wake I went to but have to say the buffet they put on was absolutely amazing - definitely recommend it. Will return and try the meals if the buffet was anything to go by!

I had my first pint in this pub in 1978, it has always been a great pub to go in with some great landlords/landladies over the years. My wife and i have just had the Christmas dinner there. The food was fantastic with some great beer to wash it down. The couple who run the pub are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. As a Swinnow lad through and through this pub will always hold a special place in my heart. Well worth a visit.

The food was good. Waiting time is not as short as the tables but nice people Good overall.

This is our go to pub where I know we will receive a warm welcome and 1st class food every time.

Been a while since I've eating in pudsey . Me mum and my wife had Sunday lunch today 27 Nov.. I've got to say £38 for 3 beautiful beef roast dinners were beautiful and drinks! real home made Yorkshire pudding comfortable warm dinning areas The brittania gets 10 out of 10 .. thats the best Sunday lunch I've had for a long time thank you all.. we will be back and highly recommend

We go out for Sunday lunch each week all over the Leeds area. Was told the brittania pudsey was nice so we went .. I looked at the pictures online and wasn't expecting much ..well I was totally wrong the food was totally home made beautiful freshly made Yorkshire puddings and a realy nice warm welcoming place to eat ... realy beautiful food ,staff and pub 10 out of 10 we will be going back

Lovely friendly pub. Staff are welcoming and very friendly. The food is amazing and homemade, with a varied menu so theres always something for everyone and prices are very reasonable. Cocktails are awesome! We have used the private room a couple of times, 1 for my daughters 16th and 1 for my Dads wake. Both times the room was made beautiful for us. The staff and management go above and beyond to make things perfect for you. Highly recommended!

It was brilliant excellent food and service my only criticism is the car park could with being slightly bigger if possible. Other than that I cannot fault the good service excellent food I would recommend them to anyone thank you very much.

Loved this place. Super friendly staff and patrons. Food was amazing, drinks were competitively priced. Try the steak, try the burgers it's all good. A bit more pricy than a witherspoon, but you are paying for a quality meal and staff that actually look after you and care for you. I'd class this a hidden gem...

It's a nicely decorated pub I called with 3 friend's for mainly something to eat we ordered but waiting 50mins for it to arrive and the pub was not busy .The food was just ok .also just to be warned the menu changes depending on what time of day it is.my wife wanted a salad or a omelette but because it was just after 16 00pm could not have either.with a few little tweaks could be a great family pub.
