Oporto in Leeds

Massive shoutout for the staff and bouncers at Oporto for jumping into action tonight. Two drunk men who were out celebrating Leeds’ win tonight decided to come harass me and my friend when we clearly were not interested, even going so far as groping my friend when I went up to the bar. One of the male staff members alerted the bouncers whilst another female staff member came to sit with us. The bouncers very quickly and calmly escorted the men outside. Made us feel very safe. Thank you so much for supporting young women!

Decent selection of beer, and not overpriced either.

Came for a work visit to Leeds, went into the first pub that looked good from outside to have a cold one but got bounced off at the door because I was guy on my own. I have never seen this anywhere in Europe, this is the new low in service.

Great bar! Excellent decor and bar staff, lovely beer selection with plenty of craft stuff which I love. Location is good, close to the station and to plenty of other quality places, would recommend.

Got served by a friendly lady called Abby Excellent customer service very welcoming spoke loads and provided accurate recommendations for a drink I wanted that I was unsure of definitely will be coming back and telling my friends about this bar :)

Fabulous place, came here last night, 30/07/24 to see three bands, bar staff were very welcoming, great atmosphere aswell , will definitely be back 👍

2 bars one just serves Irish drinks but had ran out of a few options. Not much seating

Made the mistake of having mundane brief chat with barmaids girlfriend, thought nothing of it ,went to have quiet drink in corner and was forcibly removed be 4 heavies for making them feel "uncomfortable " extraordinary!!AVOID!!

Cool music pub in Leeds, good draft beers and delicious snacks and also good music

We went to see Revolution on 1 May 2024 and it was first rate. Revolution were the headliners. Lots of atmosphere 👌

Cracking place, makes the best Baby Guinness we've ever had with their own home made ingredients... Bar staff are awesome. Great to start off in, and have a quiet chat, really gets going later in the evenings and sometimes hosts pretty cool bands Will likely be my new go to!

This is best bar of call lane you need to go in the staff are the nicest welcoming ever. It is the place to be especially at the weekend it rocks I give it 100 star's 🌟 if I could. Make sure you try it out.

£18.65 for a pint of Poretti and a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc, I thought I was in an exclusive bar for a moment. Very expensive, won’t be going back there in a hurry! Thank you for your feedback below and via e-mail and for the offer of a refund, however I think your definition of a Large Glass of wine does not align with standard weights and measures as you said you only serve 125ml and 175ml measures (175ml being your large measure and not 250ml which is the weights and measures standard). I will decline your offer of a refund but think customers should be aware.

A real classic in leeds. I used to come to this bar years ago and came back recently for a pint. Cool music and good beers on draft. Was quiet early on on the Friday but started getting busy as we moved on. Friendly bar staff.

It's a nice bar, decent selection of drinks and always a fantastic atmosphere. Not given 5 stars because the toilets are properly grim, but you would kind of expect that.

Great venue for concerts, albeit very small. Only weird thing is the concert room has these sofas on each side and so you can’t occupy the full width so it’s a bit of an awkward vibe if you’re stood dancing or singing to the music and there’s someone sat sideways next to you watching the gig

Really good bar, stays open late, a great place to end your night out. Good vibes all round. Great drinks selection

Went to watch a live band. Very good. The bar was nice as well. Would recommend, few pictures of the singer called Murdo.

One of the best pubs to dance and drink in the centre of Leeds, good music (more alternative rock than club music), also have some live gigs at times.

Soulless. The most clinical, unfriendly bar I've encountered in Leeds. Avoid where possible.

Went to see Ewan Mainwood last Sunday. It's a lovely little venue! My only criticism is probably that there weren't enough non alcoholic options. A few mocktails would have been nice.

staff are just so kind even after little mistakes! especially the woman (sorry i don’t know her name) was so kind to pour me a new pint after i dropped mine on accident. thank you to all the staff for clearing up MY mess! xxxx

Much better than I expected. Beer selection ok, music better than expected. Lively & with a good atmosphere. Not my normal sort of bar, but made a nice change.

This is a nice bar, and Knave's Kitchen serve up amazing vegan food. Wish it was open for lunch a bit more, as it's the best vegan 'junk food' in Leeds city centre.

Hi, I've never been in Oporto before but on a whim of seeing a friends band I had the pleasure. Amazing rock bar, and I'd like to thank the barmaid that said I'd had too much drink. No sarcasm. I think she genuinely saved my life. Thank you very much

What’s happened!? Been here a few times for food with friends and loved it. Decided to bring my fiancé and I’m embarrassed about how bad it was! Looks like the menu has changed and the recipes are totally different. The Mac n cheese has gone from a 10/10 to a 1/10, so bland that we didn’t finish it, was like eating pasta alone. Whatever you’ve changed here recently please reverse it. So disappointed

The bar has a good location. That is where the positives end. The service was mediocre to be polite but when charging over £5 for one pint, I expect exceptional service. The toilets are a disgrace, no locks on the cubicles, graffiti galore and dirty sinks. For the money they charge, I expect better.

Visited this a couple of years ago for a live music concert. Really good venue. I'm hoping to return again soon now that's live music concerts are back on.

My favourite Call Lane bar, unpretentious and friendly. We called in yesterday, late afternoon, for something to eat. We had the burgers from fab Knaves' Kitchen - amazing! Kirkstall Virtuous on tap, and they even have us some free shots. Really friendly bar.

Bouncer just threatened to slap my friend, SHE was not threatening, just a lil tipsy, we where waiting outside for mates and he said " I'll slap you" and pushed her. She's five foot nothing, hardly worthy of violence.

Good scene, music was good and the place had a good vibe to it.

Terrific place with friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Great food and drink selection and a wonderful atmosphere.

First ever visit to "Knaves Kitchen " ..great selection of vegan dishes..delicious and great value. Warm and friendly atmosphere...will definitely be going again. The only negative is that you wouldn't know it was situated within "Oporto"..we struggled to find it. A nice bright neon sign in the window would be great 😉

Unfortunately this bar is out of place amongst some good bars, bar manager is a disgrace don’t go here he is a power crazy idiot with no idea how to communicate. Avoid!!!

Great bar and great vegan food. Loved the ice cream and the tika topped fries. Woulda loved a salad with it and i bet if u asked they'd do it!

Didn't want to let us in because it was packed apparently but we could see from the door straight through the bar that it was fairly empty and the so called bouncer (because he had a radio) still was having none of it, so just walked away.

Terrible experience Sat 31st July, rude door staff for no reason. Would not be acceptable in any other setting..Will not be visiting again.

Avoid avoid avoid… there are so many better bars in Leeds.. Terrible experience, me and my friends went there ordered drinks from the bar and wanted to go and sit outside as we are in a middle of pandemic and inside was packed.. There were people sat outside and there was an empty table… went out but the bouncer said that we were not allowed to go out with glasses.. all the other people sat outside had glass cups, he said “yeah but they were there before” nonsense.. then my friend said ok we will go and get plastic cups, went in to ask for plastic cups they didn’t have… so went back out to tell him and he started shouting and pushing us “get in you are causing me a headache” he grabbed my drink from my hand and hurt my fingers.. I have never experienced anything like it in my life.. we went to talk to the manager and he said they were closing the outside.. Well all the bouncer had to do is told us that.. no need being rude.. Will never go back there.

Well established Leeds indie establishment. Pleased to discover, normal service has resumed post lockdowns. Friendly service, excellent music, reasonable prices. Long may it continue. Worth a visit if you're in the area & in need of refreshment.

The food was good, had the bad apples cider and was really nice. Friendly staff

Me and three friends went here for one round of drinks and were charged a 10% service charge. This totalled to over £7 for one pint of lager from a can. The prices are high to say the least. At the moment, having not been seated inside, the atmosphere is nothing but second hand smoke and eventual butt ache. My friends had hyped this place up and I'm sure the inside area is nice from how it looks, but from what I've experienced I struggle finding positives to comment on.

Best vegan food I ever tried. Nice atmosphere, lovely staff, quite cheap to say how good the food is. Drink prices are slightly better than most other Leeds venues. Will definitely be back again ❤

Brilliant staff and a really tasty vegan menu. They seem to update the menu a lot to keep it interesting. Great atmosphere and nice if you can sit out in the sun and people watch.
