Toby Carvery in Leeds

Visited to try the kids breakfast for a £1. As I’m only one adult you get one kid for a £1 and the other is full price. The food was not good at all. A few options and look like had been sat there all night. Dried out eggs and greasy bacon and sausages. Really not worth the price. Won’t be recommending or returning. Friendly chef but guy behind the bar wasn’t overly friendly and a bit rude when queried the price as I didn’t realise it was a £1 for kids per adult.

Amazing food Lovely welcome from Dan , server Ryan was very attentive and our server Ross went out of his way to make our time there unforgettable and is amazing with my little boy Lewis , highly recommend

The food was delicious and plenty of it. Service with a smile and friendly chat. Nice and clean restaurant. It's a nice place to take your family out for a Sunday roast or a meal any day of the week. I'm looking forward to the next time going there!

Went for dinner, quite busy and a few of the veg pots were running low. Only fad tiny yorkshire puds but what we got was lovely. We keep getting surprise offers sent for money off etc and these do tempt us to go often, reasonable prices for a decent meal so we tend to visit quite often now. Visited again tonight, very happy with everything disappointed that the onions in gravy have now finished till next year but everything else lovely. The waiter, Jean-Paul has looked after us quite a few times now and he really is a nice guy, very attentive, caring and does his job well. Went for breakfast today. Not sure if it's because there was an offer on or not but there wasn't as much choice as usual. Not even any hash browns.

Really good value Sunday roast with all the trimmings and huge selection of vegetables.

It was bloody lovely, Katie was absolutely incredible, asked about our food, gave us time for our drinks, waited patiently for all 5 of us to think and order, and was incredibly friendly all day. We loved her and would love to be served by her next time. The food was delicious however there wasn’t a variety of options for sides as usual, not to mention one of the sides was quite cold under the heaters. The atmosphere was great although i have to say it lacked in space. Other than that, we loved it. Thank you very much once again to Katie and the manager on duty Richard.

Dan Emily and Bruno were fantastic ! Definitely will be back we arrived late so the food had been sat there a while but what do you expect when you go late ! We still enjoyed it ! Thanks guys !!

Food delicious, chefs at the carvery were lovely, our waitress was so helpful. my favourite toby carvery in leeds!

The breakfast buffet is okay. Black pudding was overcooked and dry. Bacon was extremely fatty and not very nice. The sausages were very good and full of flavour. Things like hash browns, mushrooms, and beans were all fine, but the fried eggs looked and tasted awful. Pancakes were very dry and definitely needed the syrup, which is available.

The food if nasty burnt potatoes I order pork and gammon I got one small slice of Turky potatoes was burnt and eveything was cold wouldnt even eat it gave it to the dogs absolutely shocking

Sometimes takes a while to be served but food always good & good value for money! Go regularly!

Just been for a great meal here tonight. Special thanks to our server Ross C for being so accommodating and patient...was really nice of the place to let us bring in a cake for my birthday so i could have a special moment with my niece's singing happy birthday to me...my oldest niece was really looking forward to the meal and she really enjoyed it...they even made her the tomato pasta she likes 👍🏻 Carvery was hot and tasty and the desserts we ordered were great...yes we didnt just eat our own cake lol Would definitely recommend this Toby

Food was spot on, the staff helpful and polite. Couldn't fault it.

Kiki served us with joy and speed. She also ensured my little sister had a good time. Was super easy to relax and enjoy our time with Kiki serving us.

I had a high expectation from this place, but was surprised with the spread, so Limited options…also the taste was average. Nothing against the service they were just doing their job, keeping the buffet loaded. I had much better brunch at other places…maybe their lunch must be better.

Lovley carvery yesterday as always good hot and delicious… Nyla friendly and lovley with my don who was off school with an injury… nice and happy lady, Rich the manager always does his best to get us in even if it’s last minute… nice friendly fast service from Katie on the bar 🙌🏻… we’ll be back soon 🥳

The food is ok but the amount of meat given is less than other Toby pubs.

Good was lovely, choice was great, restaurant was clean and pleasant. And our waitress, Kiki, was really lovely, chatty and friendly but efficient. She suggested trying a Gingerbread Cappuccino - so nice!!

We received a 50%off mains voucher. My husband and I had a main course soft drink and dessert and it worked out at £12 each! Can’t be robbed! Excellent value

Emily has been delightful! As a first time we really enjoyed our experience! We will definitely come back! The food was cooked perfectly and the quality was awesome!

My wife and I are regular diners at Toby Chapel Allerton Leeds. We wouldn't keep coming back if we didn't like the food and the service. Sometimes the plates are cool/cold. The restaurant does not seem to have plate warmers. If these were installed the food would remain hotter for longer and slow eaters would benefit. This is not a problem for me ! My wife says I eat too quckly !

The service was friendly and efficient. The food exceeded my expectations for a carvery, it was warm, fresh and tasty. And although it was busy, that didn’t impact the service and the price is reasonable. I will certainly be back.

We visit a couple of times each month. Service is always good with friendly staff. Food is always fresh and plentiful.

Had a breakfast there and it was such a let down. Greasy eggs, dried hash browns along with Yorkshire Puddings never heard of those been on a breakfast before but would not recommend to anyone!

Very traditional British place. Highly recommended for everyone who has just arrived in England and wants the typical English experience. Plates and drinks are mostly refillable, and always reserve before going on their website. Bonus tip: there are lots of vouchers and discount codes when you register on the website.

Unique offering. I love especially the beautifully cooked vegetables. Service always friendly and helpful.

Best Toby carvery ever ,been to a few but this one is the best

Visité Toby carvery Harrogate Road hoy 16 de enero de 2025 con amigos para ponerse al día. El servidor Emily era muy profesional y agradable. Llegamos a las 11. 30 esperando nuestra comida. Cuando nos acercamos a la carvery la selección de carne de Pavo y Jamón parecía como si hubiera sido calentado este era medio cadáver, muy seco por un lado y limitado Turquía por el otro lado, el gammon joint era solo una pequeña cantidad y también estaba seco y parecía que había sido calentado. El cerdo y la carne parecían recién cocinados. Así que todos optamos por esa opción. El resto del buffet se veía bien y fresco los Yorkshire Puddings donde agradable. Discutimos la mala calidad de Turquía y Gammon. Y decidí quejarme al final de la comida ya que no estropeaba demasiado nuestra salida para mi cumpleaños de amigos. A la salida pidió hablar con el gerente y el gerente adjunto Neil dijo que podía ayudarme a hablar y dijo re arriba sobre la carne y no era aceptable cómo se cocinó me dijo que estaban todos frescos y el pavo entró a las 6. 00 de la mañana y podían mantenerlo durante 22 horas. Dije bien que es gracioso al comienzo del servicio que no era un cadáver entero, ya que no había muchos clientes en él era imposible para todo que el pavo se come al comienzo del servicio. He trabajado en catering y sé que estos no son los procedimientos que seguirías con Haccp y el control de temperatura. Ninguna carne debe ser recalentada. Esto estropeó nuestra reunión y nos hemos dado cuenta de que esto sucedía antes cuando visitamos en Navidad.

Good place to take people visiting. Food is decent and well priced and the walk up to the buffet means nobody gets left waiting. Staff are polite and easy to get a hold of. Nice atmosphere but can get a bit hot and sweaty. Would recommend for anyone who needs to entertain a group for the evening.

Myself and my sister had the carvery and it was delicious. Ryan the carver was very jovial and friendly and J-Paul was very attentive and helpful.

Always a good meal here and value for money. Sadly the roasties are never as perfect as in photos on the internet site and FB so a bit of digging is involved to get semi decent ones. The meat portions are at the discression of the carver but usually enough for me. My other gripe is that the single glass pop price should be a lot less than the unlimited refill price because as it stands, most people take the unlimited choice (if asked...see below) and then just have one glass anyway. Good for the company but not the customer. Also the unlimited refill price seems to go on the bill by default. I can never remember being asked which I want. Nothing I've said will stop me going but I'd just be happier if changes were made. Updated review 14/1/25... Just back from another excellent carvery as it's a Tue-Fri 50% off a mains week. (does include drinks or desserts) Can't beat these regular offers and as my app's reward card now has 5 "stamps", I get a reward of 30% off the TOTAL BILL for up to 6 people to be taken in the next 4 weeks. Love these rewards.

Lovely food, great service would come again! Staff were lovely and very efficient! And the food portions were bang on!!

The food is great also most of food is gluten free, I can't think of any improvements,this saying comes to mind... if its not broken don't try and fix it.

Very happy with the carvery meats and selection of vegetables (but no parnsips this time). Everything hot and pleased with table we were allocated. Improvement? - place needs redecorating - grubby yellow paintwork very marked in places, hence why I prefer not to sit against a wall. When you go in and wait to be seated, the "greeter" could do with more warmth and a smile which costs nothing, even if busy.

Katie was an excellent server and the food was good. Recommended

Such a lovely welcoming experience! We were sat straight away and informed that even though we had arrived at 8:10 they were happy to serve us. Katie and Nylah were so lovely! We had had a very stressful time at the hospital before coming and being taken care of so well by these two lovely ladies made our day! Cannot overstate how lovely welcoming and kind these two were to us! Had the most wonderful time just because of them!

Nyla was excellent carver and so great with the kids -really engaged with them . Food was great all 9 of us enjoyed it

Terrible. I don't expect to eat my carvery next to a begging dog whilst the owner of dog ignores the issue. Completely disgusting. Unacceptable.

Last minute decision to eat here tonight and glad we did. Or server Kiki was amazing and we are leaving very happy and very full. Can't beat a midweek Sunday dinner.

Food shocking this time round. Not worth money. Yorkshire puddings had to be put in bin. Meat too fatty to eat. Bet disappointing.

Order a takeaway carvery last night every thing was good apart from the meat uneatable to much gristle even the dog could not eat it chewing so much i will give it one more try

I wouldn’t recommend going to Toby Carvery chapel Allerton after the experience we had. We purchased a meal online and went to the customer service desk to confirm if we could dine in. From the start, the staff were dismissive and rude, insisting it was ‘booking only,’ even though we clearly saw other people walking in without bookings. We showed them our tickets right at the start, yet later, another staff member came over accusing us of not paying. This should have been checked properly when we arrived. The whole situation felt very targeted, and it left us feeling humiliated. Considering how they treated us compared to others, we can’t help but feel there was a racial bias at play. Their customer service was appalling, and the experience really affected us emotionally. No one deserves to be treated like this, and I wouldn’t advise anyone to dine there.

Nice and quiet atmosphere. Festive music on in the background. Not too loud and in your face. Staff were very hospitable, couldn’t do enough for you and very attentive. Special shout out to Keeta, Kiki and Ryan for their attention to detail, friendliness and cheery demeanour. Will be back

The service was amazing. Staff are great but the beef is not great. Apart from that, it was ear perfect!

We are regular visitors to this carvery, food is always fresh,hot and really enjoyable, they also have special offers from time to time.Well worth a visit.

Went here yesterday for Christmas Day absolutely horrible service staff didn't even know what they was doing it's like they couldn't even be bothered paid way over what it was worth nearly £400 for me and my family to eat here and the service was dead I go here every Sunday and don't have this problem so why on Christmas Day would you expect any difference well that's something for these lot to sort out maybe next year for it to be better

We had a lunchtime sitting on Saturday 20th December. Despite being busy, the service from Ross C was very good and friendly. Food was hot and well cooked. Good festive atmosphere.

We always go here, like every other week. My daughter loves eating it here, the food is quite nice and budget friendly

I'm a regular here, I love it! Same team have been here for years and the service is fab. Always willing to help. When I bring my son in with autism and ask for a quiet area they always try their best to accommodate us. I came in last Friday (13th December) with a friend and we had such a lovely waitress, smiley and nothing too much trouble. You could tell she actually liked her job! Her name was Katie. Also big thumbs up to the manager that day, Daniel and the server Ryan Whatever you are doing there it works! Always consistent in service and food! Best Wishes Juliet

The food dishes was empty and what was there was really cold .the serving oven was really dirty and gravy was cold .never been for food so dissatisfied 6 of us left most of it.heard other customers complaining aswell.

Poor service was not busy and was ignored at the bar for at least 15 minutes. Finally when being served the waiter disappeared half way through and then was not served for another 10 minutes. Awful service would not recommend!
