Good food, didn't feel rushed , calm and pleasant atmosphere.

Lovely old coaching Inn, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the food portions were generous and the food tasted good.

Me and my partner had a lovely dinner in The Crown Inn. The service is good, friendly staff and definitely fair portion of delicious food. Highly recommend, will obviously back again.

Nice country pub. We called on the off chance that they did sandwiches at lunchtime (as there was no lunch menu on their website) and thankfully they did. Friendly service and nice food.

We love it here, the food is lovely, as is the service. Reasonably priced. Beer garden is lovely in good weather with enough of a play area to keep the little ones entertained & run around.

We had a amazing meal nothing was too much trouble one of our party was Gf and they said it was the best gf meal they ever had.

First time visit today for Sunday lunch. Excellent Yorkshire Pudding starters, we all enjoyed the whole meal. Very generous portions.

Very friendly. Went on a Saturday evening. Fabulous grub - some of the best I have had anywhere. Really old pub setting from the 1600s. This must go to the top of your list. Absolutely recommended!

Decent Sunday lunch in a nice village pub

Took my wife here for our anniversary and she loved the meal. Great service and you don't have to wait ages for the meal which was fantastic. We will be going back and we would recommend it to all.

We had two dogs with us and they had accommodated us by giving us a table in the corner. We all had Sunday dinner which was superb. Quality was excellent and there was plenty of it. Staff were very friendly and attentive for our drinks and food order. Lovely atmosphere. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you x

Had a lovely Sunday roast today, massive portions including plenty of meat! Well worth the money. Staff all extremely helpful and polite, it was busy but this just shows how popular it is, it wasn’t over crowded and waiting times were not bad at all! Will definitely be making it a more regular thing to go for Sunday lunch here.

We had booked a meal for my daughter’s birthday at the pub a week before, my wife had phoned up to make the staff and kitchen aware that someone within the party has a severe nut allergy and sesame seed allergy.We were told that this wouldn’t be a problem and that they could still cater for us as we made them aware they would be ordering steak and chips. On arrival, the waiter asked us if we were the family with an allergy sufferer. We then ordered drinks and our meals and everything was running smoothly, or as we thought. The pub wasn’t busy however other tables were receiving their food before us although they had ordered after us, we let this go until we had waited around 40 minutes. I then made the decision to ask the waiter how long our food would be. We were then made aware after 40 minutes later that the allergy sufferer wouldn’t be able to have the fries or the onion rings due to the oil. This was unacceptable due to the fact my wife made them aware a week prior to this that there was an allergy sufferer and even went to the lengths of telling them what they would be ordering. We were then told that the allergy sufferer could alternatively have a jacket potato with their steak and that they would receive a free meal and free round of drinks. They then started to bring our meals out although the steak and chips meal hadn’t been resolved, I asked them to take them back until we decided what would be happening.We made the decision as a family to not have our meals as it wouldn’t have been fair to the allergy sufferer, which we told the young waiter, who had kindly dealt with us through the evening as the manager was sending him out with the information and never once came out. I feel as though this would have been necessary due to the situation. This was the first time we visited this pub and will definitely be the last.

Went last night had the seafood risotto absolutely gorgeous lovely flavours and cooked to perfection Staff were lovely chilled and relaxing pub nothing was too much trouble

We called in here on sunday on the off chance as we were passing on our way home What an absolute gem this is. We had the best Sunday dinner ever.there was plenty of meat and everything else.it was tasty and well presented and even though this is a good way from our home we’d go there again for lunch but book as we where very lucky to get a table as it was full 10/10 worth every penny

We popped in for lunch, didn't book but the food was to die for. Stunning pate and salad followed by a dreamy seafood risotto, one of the best I have had. It's super clean and beautifully decorated. We will be back!!

Food is delicious. Excellent quality. Service very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere of the pub is let down by the decor and layout I think. It’s a bit bland and sparse if sitting inside, however the outdoor seating areas are great.

We were on our way back home to leeds from selby and decided to stop and have a drink at the crown. Well what a little gem this place is. Upon entering the ambience of this place was great. We ordered our drinks and were told to take a seat by a lovely young man and he would bring them over. We had no intention of eating but when we saw the menu I had to have the steak and theakston pie I was not disappointed it was huge and it was well worth the money which was £15.95. As a pie conisseur I can honestly say this pie was the best I have had in a very very long time. I would like to thank management for a very pleasant experience, you have lovely staff 👏👏We will definitely be back.

We visited The Crown for the first time after a friend recommended it. The menu is varied and our food was excellent. Quality ingredients cooked to a very high standard. We’ll definitely return

Fathers day meal today, lovely Sunday roast followed by delicious dessert, will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

I’ve been meaning to post this review since November! We used the crowns function room for my husbands surprise 30th Birthday Party and it was perfect, the space, the food the staff, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to host a party with amazing food and service.

Food excellent. Good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had Sunday Lunch Yorkshire Puddings enormous. Will visit again.

Called after a fabulous helicopter flight locally for lunch. It was very quiet when we arrived but the staff were lovely and friendly and we were served quickly. The food was absolutely delicious- I had pork belly and my partner had the venison sausages! The service was fabulous and hearing chat with other customers as it started to fill up showed how lovely the staff were. I had the house red which was delicious and my partner was very happy with his coffee as he was driving. Would definitely recommend

Conveniently situated for 3 people arriving from different directions, and having driven past many times previous, we selected The Crown for a mid week business lunch meeting in the picturesque Monk Fryston. The greeting, service and food were all of the highest pub quality, in fact superb and thoroughly recommended. It is punching way above its initial exterior appearance and impression.

Family party of 12 for a celebration lunch lovely menu not the cheapest but quality. I ordered Salmon fillet which was superb but all the food was well presented and good portions The one thing that stands out about the crown where the Staff especially Jenny who looked after our party with enthusiasm and fantastic customer service

Great food but slightly disappointed with the quality of the beef. The pub was also over hot with several people noting the same. This was resolved when staff were asked to open a window. Overall good but please improve the beef.

We had the steaks and all the trimmings. The steaks were beautiful as well as everything else on the plate. Followed by desserts. Ample portions, very tasty, hot on arrival. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Pleasant night with good food. Will definitely return.

Came here for lunch with family. They all chose the steak and ale pie which was a great portion and definitely went down well with all. I had the slow cooked belly pork my goodness was beautiful. The staff are great very welcoming and service was fast. Will definitely be returning very soon.

Served by the lovely Jenny & popped in as we were staying at the Oakwood Lodges visiting family & wow! The food was beautiful! Slow roasted pork was to die for but unfortunately a dessert was not an option after that! Definitely return & thank you Jenny for the laughs!

Having had two people who's judgement I value recommend The Crown I regret to say we found the food disapointing. The service was second to none but the quality just didn't live up to what I had been told. Usual Yorkshire sized portions, cask ale available. Large car park and on the Selby - Leeds bus route. Maybe just one of those days.

The service was amazing. We were served by a very pleasant and polite young man. Nothing was too much trouble. We were six friends on this visit and we all commented on how fantastic he was. The food was very good. We all had different things and we all said how much we enjoyed it. We asked if we could have one thing slightly different to the menu and they were more than happy to oblige

First time here for food. Greeted promptly and shown to choices of tables to sit at. Very nice friendly staff. Clean and warm. Nice atmosphere. Food was delicious. Forgot to take pics but had aubergine and belly pork, others had prawns, hake, salmon, chicken and also lemon meringue pie. All of it was very nice. Coffee after was also good. Will definitely return. Not too pricey. Inc drinks

We went for Sunday lunch for my sisters birthday, The soup starter was Luke warm and very salty , we had to ask for butter for the sour dough bread, the staff were doing too many tables instead of concentrating on a few tables, I found strand of hair in the centre of my Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese was basically half cooked cauliflower swimming in water with poor flavoured cheese on top (paid extra for this too ) The veggie sausages were inedible and my sister currently has her head down the latrine regurgitating her dinner, the mash had black bits in which we aren’t convinced were pepper, The price was shocking for the standard of the food We shall not be returning any time soon

Called off spec for Sunday Lunch. Very welcoming staff and was offered a table almost instantly by Danny. One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. There was nothing we could fault. Home made yorkshire pudding, good seasonal vegetables and extra gravy without asking for it. Not a vast amount of meat for the meat lovers but more than adequate for us. A really lovely lunch and I am hard to please. We would strongly recommend giving this place a try for food. We will certainly be giving it a try for food midweek too. Look forward to returning.

Good choice excellent quality food. Service lacked attentiveness meaning trips to bar to remind them. Chips a bit on the thin side. Shame as this, in my opinion, is the best food of the three restaurants in the group .

Came here the other day for an early tea. Had steaks and ribs, both beautiful and huge portions! Salad was fresh, the fries were lovely and onion rings I highly recommend. But most of all the service from Jenny was exceptional, she made us feel welcome from walking in to the door to leaving. Fantastic asset to the place and I will definitely return

We booked a last minute table at the Crown in Monk Fryston for Sunday lunch and it was great value for money, speedy service and very, very yummy!! Sticky toffee pudding for afters was divine.

It's OK, more of a pub than a restaurant.

Place was great only down fall was no were to park but obviously it was busy. no were to sit until our table was ready and there was a customers dog sat on the furniture next to us

'Fab-u-lous'. My wife and I picked The Crown to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed. Claire and her assistant were very welcoming, and once we were seated, brought our drinks and took our order quickly. Claire actually went to speak to the chef regarding my wife's choice of main meal, which was altered slightly to accommodate, excellent. The food was all beautiful, with NO complaints at all. We only had two courses, as we were quite full. Hopefully, next time we visit, because we certainly will be back, we will leave a little room for dessert. My only regret is that I didn't ask Claire to pass on our compliments to the chef. Thank you, your food was excellent. Thank you too all at The Crown. Hopefully, we'll see you all again soon.

This was our first time at the Crown and we were really impressed. We had a warm welcome and all staff were cheerful and attentive. All three courses were generous, tasty and great value. Looking forward to returning

Sorry to say was not impressed. Spare ribs were so tough you couldn't eat them .They even said they weren't right!! Granted didn't have to pay but that's not the point. Think it's a little bit expensive...coffee over £4.

My wife and I waited for over an hour for a table although people were being seated who came in after us. In the end I told the owner we couldn’t wait any longer as we had our 16 month old baby with us. Very disappointed and definitely will not be returning absolutely disgusting!
