Having spent 25 years in the hospitality industry, working front of house and management side I am well aware of the correct ways when dealing with people. We would always do our best to ensure customers were happy and enjoyed their experiences. They would then recommend our establishment to friends and family. I can never recall an occasion when we turned away an opportunity to make money. Especially not for the sake of £10!! I was part of the group of 10, changed to 8, who were spoken to very rudely by the "owner" of The Tardebigge on 24th October after querying the non return of a deposit To be asked "well do you want the table?" in the way she asked us was totally unacceptable. I told her we obviously did as we had no intention of losing another £40. At that she completely lost it and said she would give us the £50 we'd paid and we were to leave. I fully appreciate the need for non-refundable deposits at Christmas, weekends and other busy times of the year but a Thursday lunch hardly comes under that umbrella and to return £10, make customers happy and likely to tell others, whilst also taking around £250 is surely the better option? We'll certainly not return

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

We have lived in this area for 15 years and passed the Whitmore Tea Rooms many times. Today we stopped and visited the tearooms for lunch. I was very impressed with the ambience of the place, lovely bone china on the table. The good was absolutely first class and plentiful. A good selection of beverages both alcoholic and non- alcoholic were available. The staff were very friendly and courteous and the bill I thought was very reasonable for what we had for go our lunch. We will definitely be returning soon !

First time here. Lovely location. Right the side of river. Staff were great. The food however is not good value. We had the tapas. The arancini were small balls with just rice inside. And just slightly coloured with which I presume to be the ragu ? No sign of a raging sauce. My brusheta had no hint of garlic or basil ? Just tomatoes and a bit of rocket. Again small portion. The serving of the food was strange aswell. I thought the idea of tapas is to have different foods in front of you at one time , they all canes at different times. The aubergine came 15 mins after the first dish was served. We had eaten the rest by then. Meat balls were ok but again small portion. Shame really as for me the dishes are way overpriced for what ( and when ) you get them. Could be better

Early evening meal with 4 friends . We opted for the 2 courses for £10 deal! We tried the 3 options available and each were lovely. Well cooked and presented. Huge choice of dessert - all delicious. Service was friendly and warm - even though as the only person working, she had a lot on her plate! With drinks - it cost £16 per person. The main menu was also good value. A couple of us would have preferred to see a couple of salad option on the menu so that’s what would have made it 5* However absolutely worth a visit.

Myself and my other half decided to pop out for a meal, we had been recommended The Angel by family members, we thought we'd try it for ourselves! I called 18:00 this evening asking for an 18:30 or 19:00 book in for table for two (short notice I know) but what a delight!!! We got a table booked for 18:30! The food, service and staff was amazing, me and my other half have not dined in a place like this for years I'd say! I've attached a few photos of our meals they we're phenomenal! Absolutely sublime... I'm not one to leave reviews but this place deserves it!!! Their hospitality was second to none! If you're looking for a nice place for a spot of lunch or Sunday lunch whatever tickles your pickle this is the place for you! Brilliant place to dine/drink! Cheers🍻

A group of us have met here twice a year for say 15years always had really good service and food. Today the restaurant was close so had to eat in the bar. Initially the bar service was good! Food menu looked quite interesting although I think £32 for a steak is a rip off. We ordered our staters and mains from the bar - it was ages 45m8n before the staters came and not together. The mains took again a fare time to arrive- poor. Overall very disappointing and we shall not return.

We are local living in the next village and invited some friends for Sunday lunch. We were horrified to learn that at 2.15 they had run out of beef and cauliflower cheese. They serve until 4pm. I then ordered pan fried chicken which was overcooked and tough, the portion was half a chicken breast. The roast potatoes were not roast potatoes very tough to get in to. The vegetables were stringy all in all this was the worst Sunday roast we have had and we eat out at least 2/3 times a week. Finally I do not mind paying for good food but to add insult to injury the food and drinks were overpriced. They are charging city centre prices. I will not be recommending this pub to all our foodie friend
