Although it’s a great location, the staff were friendly and attentive the food was delicious it was definitely not a £34 breakfast I fact I was really surprised at the the till ! The breakfast it self was very nice, aside from the fact we had to chew on grit in the unwashed spinach it was a little over cooked and pre prepared Having said this I explained to my wife ( who is a chef) it was very busy ! She was having none of this as every chef / cook should wash the spinach regardless of how busy they were A little pretentious I think after charging this ridiculous price for what you see below

This was the first time that I had been to Mac & Jac's cafe, I wanted to see what the Americano with milk was like. I was surprised straight away when they asked if I would like hot or cold milk, as I don't normally get asked that in the cafe that I normally go to. I paid for my coffee and asked if I could see a menu, the young lady gave me a menu, then I realised that I did not have my glasses with me, so I gave it back, and said that I had forgotten my glasses, the young lady then started to read out the menu asking if I would like a cake or sandwich, and she would read the menu out for me, this was amazing customer service, I have never had this happen to me before, in any restaurant or cafe, I thanked her and decided to squint and try read the menu myself. The coffee and a small amount of water came in a cup, the hot water came in a small jug, the milk also came in a small jug, I could now decide how much water I would put into the coffee cup and make it as strong as I wanted, the coffee was very nice. I really enjoyed my experience, next time I will take my glasses so as I can read and order some lunch. William

We have been coming here for years and before that in Worcester. This lunch was not a good experience. We had booked but waited 45 minutes for two salads. There was no explanation for the delay. One member of staff who recognised us did offer us some. The food wasn’t very good and we felt it had been thrown together. We won’t be coming back in a hurry.

Second time here, arrived on busy Saturday lunchtime, staff were working hard! Nice welcome, opted for the last table outside as no space indoors. We had Meze platters, with extras... delicious food, well-presented, with friendly efficient table service. This is a lovely little cafe tucked away in the centre of Malvern. We used to frequent their cafe in Worcester which was our ‘go to’ regular, but sadly they closed during the pandemic. That said, we moved to Malvern and very happy to say that this branch is just as good. We’re regulars now and frequent on an almost weekly basis, so much so that we have our ‘own’ table. The food is gorgeous, of particular note are their eggs royale and mezze platter and the specials are usually excellent. For desert, their pecan pie is utterly delicious and not to be missed. Highly recommended!

Visited this cafe for a drink and cake. It is situated in a fabulous location in front of the museum and this is maybe why their offerings are, in my opinion, rather overpriced. A can of lager was £6.50 and a Bakewell tart was £5.50. The Bakewell took quite a while to arrive as they apparently need to heat it up slowly and unfortunately was not to my taste with excessive jam and practically no tart. I didn’t get the impression that the cakes are homemade. It’s ok here but I wouldn’t return I’m afraid.

Popped in after a short stroll around the town. Wasn’t hungry, so these portions were enough. Meaning, prices may be slightly inflated -1*. Food well presented, but wasn’t anything to rave about either. I imagine, had we walked the hills, we’d have had to order a few more things to feel replenished.Service to be seated was fine, we opted for indoors as it was very sunny the day we went. When passer-bys started to fill the outdoor seating area, service went to pot. We felt forgotten about. After 15 minutes, we stopped a server in her tracks to ask if she could take our order, and she apologised, she thought her colleague had already taken it. Nope -1*. (So just to clarify, if this busy summer day was just a one-off case of chaos, my review would’ve been 4*)Anyway, ate, drank, paid and left. Was going to revisit here to give it a second visit before reviewing, however, that day there was a sign on the front door ‘closed…’ which in hindsight was good because we then found a 5* gem of a place nearby.

as a regular have always loved this place though it now has good competition up the road and am there less. service has always been the very best with a close and efficient team. attentive, friendly, welcoming and brisk. last visit 3 out of 4 seemed new and spent most of their time in a gaggle at the counter while one waitress (who has been there the longest) covered most ground. at one point all four were gathered at the counter while one talked animatedly gesticulating wildly, the barista and another waitress listening as if in school and the fourth stifling a yawn-as if in school. gave up trying to get more water a one point, thought about going up to the counter to pay, but in the end waved hysterically like an idiot until all scattered and the barista took our money. have to say again: coffee was superb- the barista knows what she is doing, food was good as to be expected and came quickly but service lousy. (except for the one doing most of the work.) crying shame. it was embarrassing to be there. worth noting- we were at the table closet to the counter so we shouldn't have been ignored by most of the staff, most of the time, and yet at some point all four managed to come to our table on various missions. in an oddly chaotic way. feel compelled to write this scathing review because actually not sure would ever want to go back and show my face to receive more insult for good money!

Mac & Jac’s has been a daily/weekly meeting place and haven for over a decade and I just want to commend the wonderful team of staff for their consistent commitment to service during and post pandemic restrictions. They’re conscientious enough to not disturb the table if inappropriate, caring enough to bring water for an accompanying dog and on their hospitality game enough to replace dropped cutlery and refill water unprompted. The coffee is at the high standard we judge others on and the food is faultless.I for one never expect to be treated differently because I am a regular but instead just truly appreciate the effortless friendliness and service of the team. It’s worth remembering that It’s been a trying time for all hospitality workers front of house and behind the scenes so I just want to bring it to the M&J’s owners attention that they need to congratulate their staff in Malvern for keeping their standards dependably high.To all other customers - be kind, keep cash in circulation and remember to tip well. This cafe has been a weekly meeting place for me and a group of friends to enjoy breakfast and occasional lunch for 12 years. The young staff have always treated us with the utmost respect and because we are so well known have always allowed me in a few minutes before opening time to quietly wait for my friends. 2 weeks ago I arrived as usual 2 mins before opening and was greeted by a polite young man who I’d not seen before and he asked me to wait outside. I said I’m normally allowed in but he insisted so I said ok and did this without complaint or further comment. At opening a young woman came to open the door, and abruptly made some reference to ‘there had been a problem’ and I replied very calmly ‘just never been asked to wait outside before’ & ‘assumed staff were all new’. For the next minute this waitress just lost it - clearly very stressed almost shouting at me:- I can’t cope with this- what’s wrong with your attitude- we work so hard- my manager will agree with meOne of my friends arrived and was witness to this young woman’s behaviour and witness that I did not respond with a single word just left without comment. I was so upset by the experience I decided to send an email to the owner asking for the young woman (Emma) to apologise to me. The response I received was unexpected. Apparently the waitress was affronted because I suggested she was new and the day before had been stressful because the receipt printer had broken down!! The owner implied it was my fault by attempting to enter before opening and suggesting staff were new. So, according to this owner it is acceptable for their staff to treat loyal customers this way. Unsurprisingly this waitress has suggested I was an unhappy, difficult customer not wanting to wait outside - neither of which are true. We all have bad days and I understand it was a stressful morning but I will no longer be a customer and cannot recommend this cafe to friends or family as would not want anyone to have the same experience.

Malvern is a beautiful town, as long as you don’t mind hills! Eating outside MacandJac’s was a really pleasant experience. The food was excellent quality and the staff very friendly. I enjoyed a Crayfish cocktail, avocado smash, pancetta on ciabatta and it was superb! My son had Meze which also was excellent. Great coffee too and will definitely return!

Popped in for a drink and snack after a walk on the Malvern Hills. Really beautiful setting and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff made us feel really welcome, including our two dogs. The dark chocolate & beetroot cake was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! My husband loved the triple chocolate brownie too. Highly recommend this place.

Finally the best coffee in town is back after lockdown with the added bonus of extra outdoor seating. Tucked next to the historic Abbey Arch the new seating area is away from the noise of traffic but perfect for watching the world go by.Would highly recommend the vegan mezze and the cakes and biscuits are delicious.Welcoming staff that are always a pleasure to see on a regular basis.Go seek out!

Visited for a late Sunday Brunch. Menu was fairly limited, although there was a special board, overall a nice choice for a small cafe. The food was really nicely cooked and presented.Lovely quality bacon, great poached eggs and lovely sourdough toast.Just a shame it was pre purchased guacamole and not fresh smashed avocado.Staff friendly and the place was warm and welcoming, although there was no check back and the hot brunch was served in cold plates.Worth the £22 for two inc hot drinks. We will be going back on a regular bases just for a nice brunch and a relax!!! Sunday brunch in Malvern is really limited so it’s probably the best place in Malvern for a Sunday brunch....

Coffee is great here. It makes a nice stop of if you have been walking. Prices slightly inflated but nothing we wasn't happy to pay. Service is excellent and the best part of our experience here. If it is a nice day, the outdoor seating is really nice is spaced our well from others and the entrance. Everything was sanitised well after each use.

Perfect coffee served by perfectly friendly stylish staff staff in perfect surroundings AND the place was heated! My only wish would be that the cakes were less perfect.

We visited for lunch, and were impressed with the menu and service. We can highly recommend the flat-breads, and the buddha bowls. The food was imaginative, fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will return in the future.

This quaint little restaurant was a lovely place for a lunch. Nestled in Malvern, with good social distancing approaches. The menu is healthy, but it was slightly difficult to identify foods due to wheat intolerance. A lot of bread based foods. However, the food we has was delicious, tasty ingredients and cooked beautifully.

Our best place in Worcester for coffee and home-made cakes. Service is faultless. They also serve homemade dishes for breakfast and lunch.

Visited today for breakfast. Nothing on website said we needed to book. Arrived at 9.20am but told all tables inside reserved, even though it was 90% empty. Told we could sit outside in freezing cold if we vacated table quickly. Another couple arrived who had also not booked but were offered a seat inside. Waited over 5 minutes for menu’s only to be told menu was on the other side of the blackboard we couldn’t see... we said we had looked at menu on website but were told it was out of date. Menu very limited. Ordered Brown toast with poached eggs, avo and bacon. Arrived with the poached eggs both solid. Food underwhelming, service abysmal. Better offering in the town. Try the Abbey cafe instead.

Had brunch twice here during my visit, lovely place serving imaginative, good quality food and drinks. Gets busy so would recommend booking in advance. Quick, safe service. We had halloumi Buddha salad, avocado mushrooms and poached egg on toast and tumeric matcha latte, all delicious. Highly recommend.

Surprise visit here after being let down by a competitor who were dreadful. This is a proper decent cafe that I wish I was closer to. Lovely staff, impossible young and attractive! Smart too and chuffed to see good vegan choices. My vegan sandwich was delicious, bread like it was from a classic continental Baker.Def coming back

Quite simply, Mac and Jac's does the best Eggs Benedict in Malvern. I have tried all the cafes and restaurants in the town and, whilst the food here is not the cheapest, the quality of this breakfast is wonderful.

Visited after a recommendation from a friend who had a lovely lunch there previously. Unfortunately my girlfriend and I didn’t enjoy our visit. The sandwich filling on both of our sandwiches was very sparse, they tried to pad it out with a lot of leaves but that made the flavour of the filling even more sparse. There needs to be at least double the amount of filling we had, if not more. The bread was extremely dry which made it difficult to eat. The coffee wasn’t to my taste so left it. The service and speed was very good though.

Popped in for breakfast. No vegan options at all set out on the menu, however they did talk me through possible options. The food that came was very bland as no herbs or spruces had been used, (due to you having to specify individual options). Not very good at all I’m afraid. As a vegan the last thing I want to do is have to talk staff through every item on a plate and then pay a premium for the privilege, especially when you’re out with friends and family. This is all meant constructively guys so please try to do better as other smaller resteraunts offer vegan options as standard, it really shouldn’t be a lot to ask these days.

Fantastic little cafe in a beautiful part of Malvern. It has a varied, healthy menu with lots of options for food intolerances. Lovely polite staff and great coffee (which I particularly liked because they served us deconstructed with a shot in my cup, a separate jug of boiling water and a separate jug of milk). We had the Buddha bowl with chicken, vegan mezze plate and bean soup (GF). Excellent all round

Four of us had a light lunch here yesterday. We had hoped to sit outside by the lake but it was cold so we were in the bistro which is lovely. We all ordered sandwiches which were delicious and presented beautifully with a small selection of dressed salad leaves . We all had banana sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream - a bit like sticky toffee pudding but even better. The staff were immaculately turned out, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. This is such a lovely place and we will definitely be back before long.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

Limited menu, although some specials were on the board.; good choice of desserts. A very busy pub with people constantly pushing past from the garden and caravan site. Did not like the fact that the cat sits and walks on top of the tables and that there is a notice implying that the cat is not too friendly. Manager is a little brush, which was off putting and we have not eaten there since.
