Fantastic food . With great prices . I ordered the gammon. The meat was so tender and juicy . The egg was cooked to perfection and proper big chips. The service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble . I will definitely be coming back.

We were visiting family who live nearby. Perfect location. The accommodation was clean, warm, and disabled accessible. It met our needs perfectly. We ate in the pub, great service, good food, and a warm welcome. I loved the crumble. We were looking forward to trying out the breakfast, but due to the storm, we left early am. A tree had fallen on the road, thankfully not on our car. Generally, we had a fabulous stay and really appreciated the accessibility of the accommodation. Definitely will stay again when in the area. Thank You 😊 🙏

A gem of a pub, in a great countryside location. Great atmosphere and everyone extremely friendly. The menu, although small, is more than adequate with a choice for everyone. Food is of excellent quality, great value for money and the beers are well kept with plenty of choice. Would recommend a visit to anyone where a warm welcome is guaranteed, service with a smile and even treats for the dogs. Our favourite go to pub whenever we are in the area.

Went here for some lunch the other day. The village is lovely and this place used to be a great place to eat. The pub sits on the corner of the T junction and there is parking out front. However, things have changed and not really for the better. the menu was somewhat sparse. Lunch was apparently limited because the owner said that some things had not been delivered. I therefore had sausage and chips instead of mash. My wife had faggots, but these were well cooked and seemed home made. The gravy was lovely by the way. However, it seemed the place had diminished as an eatery although we had not been here for a few years. We can say that we ate everything, but it was not like we remembered. Will I be back, I don't know. It may be some time

We randomly entered Pub near me into Google whilst visiting Croome House. Royal Oak did not disappoint. Offered two sizes of roast, smaller perfect for my wife. She enjoyed her beef and I my chicken. MORE AT Google

We went for Sunday lunch after seeing the Royal Oak menu posted on Facebook and thought we'd give it a try. Friendly welcome and seated straight away. Food is reasonably priced; £10.95 for a large roast and £8.95 for the smaller (which I suppose is a child's but not stated as such and was barely any different from the large, which was strange? A better pricing structure would've been say £6.95 and make it an actual child's portion) The pub, I thought, was very dated (the general decor, pictures, fixtures and fittings were definitely left over from the 80s) and the entrance was quite scruffy with a very tatty old mat when you first walked in and the porch could've done with a wipe around and a lick of paint (as could've most of the pub if I'm being honest!) Food was okay but nothing really to shout about. Meat was cooked well and a decent couple of slices per meal. A bowl of veg per table that was all plonked in together and for some strange reason, the carrots were cut into 1mm slices? Plenty of gravy, which was a plus I suppose. The thing that really let the roast down for me was the 'roasted' potatoes and parsnips. They were more boiled in my opinion, and then rolled in fat, so none of that nice tasty crunch which makes a nice roast lunch for me. Shame as could be good with a few tweeks but I don't think we'll bother again in the future.

He was very friendly too and we love dogs so this was a bonus! Soon got seated and ordered 2 lamb dinners. We enjoyed the food very much and there was plenty of veg. We also had desserts of apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding which were also very enjoyable. We would very much recommend this place whether you are local or are passing through. Thanks to all.

We went for a day out at Croome National Trust and wanted a pub lunch. As this pub was very close, we drove there for a meal and some drinks. The Oak is a proper pub, a great selection of drinks, and Doombar on tap, which is always a bonus. The food menu was very typical for the type of pub, with a few nice unexpected options like an omelette. We had 4 adult meals, a kids meal and 6 drinks and the whole bill came to £55. Brilliant value, and the food was really good. Not fancy, but just good quality and tasty. The burger was of a really good standard, would highly recommend.

I had tried to book a table for around 7pm but the earliest we could get was 8.30pm and this was on a Wednesday evening which speaks volumes in itself. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table and a drinks order taken. Drinks arrived in good time and our starter and main food order was taken. I will not go into detail about what food was ordered but everything we ate was superb. Well cooked, hot plates and everything came out at the same time. We ate in the conservatory which even on a cloudy summer day was oppressively hot (we opened the fire exit which let cool air in). The Sunday 24 hour roasted beef was tough (many apologies and a better slice was provided). Other meals were superb. A blackboard of desserts was provided, but a long wait to be asked for our order. The desserts we excellent. At this stage i was going to give a four star review. The biggest downer was when I went to the Gents which was very tired and not clean. Reception lady was no end of help too and we enjoyed our stay. Attached to the property is an Asian fusion style restaurant which was ok in my opinion but I think there is likely some other better options out there.

We were gifted a voucher for an afternoon cream tea here. Upon arrival we sat at the bar, waiting for to be called in. The afternoon tea was unlimited selection of teas or coffee, and set amount of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes. We liked the restaurant area and the view. I'd recommend this place for a stay or dining out or for afternoon tea.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

When we got there, we saw a sign that said 'overflow car park'. Absolutely accurate, the river had overflowed into the car park, which was now a pond. Service was a little slow to start with but then improved. Food was excellent, so was the company and the atmosphere. Defo going back some time.
