After an ordeal with hotels.com (not Mount Pleasant Hotels fault) we finally got to our room. It was lovely. Squeaky floors yes but tbh this just added to age and style of the property. Reception lady was no end of help too and we enjoyed our stay. Attached to the property is an Asian fusion style restaurant which was ok in my opinion but I think there is likely some other better options out there.

The hotel has an excellent location but seriously disappoints. Beautiful period building with a depressing and cheaply furnished interior. Room was well-heated, but gloomy and very basic. Duvet and pillows very poor. Nasty cheap carpets throughout the room and whole hotel. Reception not manned after 8pm. Atmosphere was soulless, dismal and depressing. Everything appears done on the cheap, (except, maybe, its restaurant, which appears to be promoted for non-residents). I did not dine, so cannot comment on the restaurant food. Service at breakfast was almost non existent. Tables not laid. Very limited cold selection. Hot breakfast food was OK. Sadly, I regretted having booked and paid for a second night at this hotel. What a shame for such a nice town and iconic location.

Had a lovely meal, warm welcome, and good decor. But we did feel sorry for the two staff that were rushed off their feet covering the restaurant and bar. They remained polite and professional, but they really needed another member of staff to serve such a big area with residents and non residents. Well done for such good service, and I hope you can expand the team to make the experience even more enjoyable. Would definitely be a 5 star review then.

Friendly service in a nicely decorated dining room. Unexpectedly, we all chose steaks - tasty and perfectly cooked. Good Parmesan truffle fries. As well as the ubiquitous sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu, some unusual and delicious choices - especially the roasted baby pineapple! It didn’t need the raisins though. Raspberry mousse v good and cheeseboard plentiful. Well done. Cocktail good value, wine a bit expensive by the glass

Arrived at 19.30 on Thursday the 5th of September for our booking. When we arrived, there was a strong smell of fish. Then, a lady on the next table complained that her fish was very sloppy and her partners steak was very poor. The waiter offered her a partial refund, but this is not the point. Her evening had been ruined. This lady had taken friends, having told them that they had enjoyed previous visits. We were wary that we might regret eating there, so we asked the waitress if we could expect good food. The reply,"we'll do our best, but we've got a table of 17 in." I despair, I appreciate how difficult it is for the hospitality trade. However, establishments that are unable to deliver what they promise should move over and leave it to the professionals. No wonder we're the laughing stock of our continental cousins!

We had a lovely "Sunday Roast" dinner here. We split a pork roast (how can anyone eat an entire dinner here themselves?) and also split a Rainbow Salad. The roast was perfect and after 28 days in England, this was the best presentation of vegetables we have experienced! A wonderful meal and excellent service (with the proviso that it takes forever throughout England to get the bill and settle up!) We had take a short walk in the Malvern Hills and finished with this lunch before training back to Worcester.

I had the figs with goats cheese and walnuts to start and my husband had the fish terrine both were amazing. We both had the ribeye steak for main and the were juicy and cooked to perfection (one medium rare and one medium) for dessert we had Lemon posset and vanilla panna cotta again both tasted incredible. Loved my stay here. Family suite with bathroom. Really good location, not far from the train station, close to Malvern Hills, theatre and restaurants, cafes, shops etc. One big downfall was not being allowed any takeaways or anything from outside and a £50 fee, if caught. This wasn't made clear to me before booking. They do have two on-site restaurants with plenty of options though and breakfast included. Great views from outside the restaurant window and outside the hotel. Highly recommended if you're staying in Malvern.

Very poor value for money ( we stayed when the RHS Malvern Show was on) the price of a room had doubled to a scandalous £300 per room per night. The hotel is shabby underneath a veneer of modernisation and clearly basic maintenance has been overlooked. In our room ( which did have wonderful views over Malvern)the wooden furniture was sun damaged and peeling , the carpet was dirty but the bed was comfortable . The bathroom was badly fitted out, appalling grouting, cheap units. Thin cheap towels, plastic waste bin. The stair carpet up to the rooms was dirty and torn in places. Breakfast service was slow and the choice of breakfast buffet very poor for the price we had paid. On the plus side we did have an excellent dinner in the restaurant and the staff were pleasant. This hotel needs to reflect its price structure in line with what it is actually offering or needs more investment and new management.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular in getting us a parking space; however we would note that it is quite a small car park which needs to accommodate both restaurant and hotel guests. The window in our room looked right onto the restaurant terrace, which was ok because we were not in the room during busy mealtimes but can imagine it would be quite noisy and there would be less privacy in the room if one were on a longer trip. The room itself was clean and we had no issues with it. The hotel breakfast was good, we had the cooked breakfast which was good quality and served quickly, service was very friendly.

We thought the hotel location was excellent as was the quality of the rooms and general decor, however there is always a but and this is quite a big but. The breakfast continental buffet was quite adequate but the cooked breakfast was a let down in that the bacon on each of the three days was overcooked and had probably been left under an infra red lamp and had dried hard. The mushrooms had been cooked to death and were literally black on the plate. The sausages had also been left under the infra red lamp and the skin was very rubbery. I did raise this with the lady on reception when we left on Sunday and maybe we should have raised it earlier. The only other minor issue was the absence of a refuse bin around the buffet table for empty cereal packets. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

We went to The Mulberry Tree for an anniversary meal. It was easy to book online, we were treated very well by the staff who are polite and helpful and the menu was good. We really enjoyed all we had. We ordered bread and olives to start which was plenty for the two of us. I’m not a huge fan of olives but these were nice. I had soy tofu as a main which was quite light and my partner had pork. He was very pleased with his food. I also had a really lovely cocktail with Malibu in it. I’d definitely come back again. The food was of a high quality, the menu quite varied but not too big and the surroundings were very pleasant and comfortable. Prices were also reasonable for the standard of food.

Friendly greeting on arrival, and she was aware that we were going to the theatre so needed to be served quickly. Seated us at a table by the window which had a great view over Malvern and left us with the menu, letting us know she would take our order shortly. Order taken quickly, drinks and food arrived promptly but was obviously cooked fresh. We both loved our choices, duck and slow cooked belly pork were both cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, and the extra we ordered to share, truffle and parmesean cheese fries were just amazing. Both too full for desert and conscious of the time. Both agreed we had to visit again when not on such a tight timescale

Sometimes it's a little difficult to know where to go for a quick snack when you're on a short break and have just arrived in a new town for a few days but as we walked past the Mulberry (part of the Mount Pleasant Hotel) a quick glance at the lunch menu looked to be right up our street. The staff are really friendly and happy to serve you at your table so we ordered soup and a Pork and black pudding sandwich. Both off them were excellent with very generous portions indeed. The sandwich was rammed and the side salad was delicious and plenty of it! We decided to return the following evening and again the staff were lovely and the food superb. My fish n chips was beautifully cooked and hubby's chicken burger with Katsu sauce was equally tasty. A great, welcoming find and not overpriced in the least.

Booked this restaurant for a pre-theatre meal at 6 pm. Arrived a little early and was ordered and having a drink by 6 pm. Very prompt and efficient service upon arrival. The food quality was very good for the main meal but let down slightly by one of the desserts (cherry Bakewell tart) which was a little bit hard and dry. We had to wait 25 minutes for our desserts after ordering before asking where it was to be told a few more minutes. There was a further delay in obtaining the bill and we felt that both times we were forgotten even though it was not too busy. However, it did not spoil the experience and it certainly did not feel rushed. If you are pushed for time, I would suggest you make that clear as we left at 7:30pm after having a main and a desert which left it a bit tight for the theatre at 7:45pm showing. Parking can be a bit tight in the car park as it is not very large, so please make allowances for that if that’s a priority. More than can be a bit hilly and the car parks are generally downhill unless you’re parking on the road. Overall service was very polite and efficient apart from the delay on the desert and the bill, but it was a lovely atmosphere and the food quality on the hole was very good.

On entering the restaurant it is beautifully furnished and we ancipated siting in the dining room and enjoying the view to enjoy our lunch as we had pre booked but no, we were shown upstairs and then the disappointment started. No luxury to the tables and a very utilitarian looking buffet set up including the window next to the cravery left wide open making it impossible to keep the food warm! The joints of meat were very small and much of the veg tasteless as it had been in water too long. The whole thing had no atmosphere and was not at all relaxing. The restaurant staff were lovely and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere in the evening. A few of the details could have been better with the evening meal. The peppercorn sauce which came with the steak really wasn't good (and strangely the mushrooms were served with this with no warning at breakfast). We asked for the light bite mussels to share as a starter and think we should have been warned it came with chips and not bread. You couldn't really enjoy the sauce. I think the staff were a bit pushed for time at breakfast. Things on tables and on the buffet bar weren't replenished very quickly. Also, none of the guests realized the toaster didn't pop up, so people were waiting a long time and then discovering their toast was burnt.

My daughter and I enjoyed an excellent light lunch today at the Mount Pleasant Hotel. We dined in the recently refurbished dining-room which has been beautifully decorated in a very modern stylish way. There were some lovely prints of various aspects of Malvern and in the fireplace thereblazed a real log fire, a welcome sight on a cold wintry day.My daughter and I had excellent sandwiches served with crisps and salad. However, we could not resist the creme brûlée which was absolutely delicious. It reminded us of the creme brûlée that we last had after her birthday treat lunch many years ago at The Savoy in London. Also, I must thank Markus, our waiter for being so friendly and efficient.A really lovely and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

What a lovely setting in Malvern, the dining chairs are really comfy and food was outstanding, the colour of the surroundings in the dining room are very relaxing and the room was warm. My Grandchildren were well looked after too.

We had lunch in the restaurant which was excellent. There were 14 of us, all meeting together, as one of our friends were moving away from Malvern. The venue was brilliant for the occasion, we were welcomed and all looked after extremely well by the waiting staff, who were friendly and efficient. An excellent menu; delicious, well cooked and presented food, promptly served. Everyone in the group commented on how good the venue and the food was, I would definitely recommend the Mount Pleasant Hotel as an excellent restaurant and venue for any occasion.

Booked table for three, delicious food served promptly with attentive (but thoughtfully low key) service. We had starters and main course only, generous portions of battered haddock with tasty chips and the sea bass, so being quite full and also suffering from colds to varying degrees we didn't try the puds on this visit. Home made chocs with the bill was nice touch. Would recommend and will also be going back ourselves.

Fantastic food . With great prices . I ordered the gammon. The meat was so tender and juicy . The egg was cooked to perfection and proper big chips. The service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble . I will definitely be coming back.

We were gifted a voucher for an afternoon cream tea here. Upon arrival we sat at the bar, waiting for to be called in. The afternoon tea was unlimited selection of teas or coffee, and set amount of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes. We liked the restaurant area and the view. I'd recommend this place for a stay or dining out or for afternoon tea.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

When we got there, we saw a sign that said 'overflow car park'. Absolutely accurate, the river had overflowed into the car park, which was now a pond. Service was a little slow to start with but then improved. Food was excellent, so was the company and the atmosphere. Defo going back some time.
