Was camping near by and just by chance Googled somewhere for Sunday lunches nearby. What a treat it was. I’m pretty fussy but this was proper home cooked roast dinner and plenty of it. They went out their way to accommodate us too. Great guys, keep up the good work

I turned up soaking wet and freezing cold after getting caught in a downpour on a bike ride but the welcome was fantastic - warm and friendly, just like every English country pub should be (but many are not!)

We went for lunch with our Newfies and friends and it was wonderful food was great value and taste and venue awesome

Really tasty home cooked Sunday lunch all the staff are lovely and friendly, we booked a table but our other 2 guests were delayed which meant it was close to the end of service and it wasn't a problem

Very nice visit. Shame you closed at 14.30pm But you let us stay in the garden area which was nice.

Very lovely setting sat out in the garden having lunch with an expecting to have a roast dinner then decided to have a roast dinner in the end and it was lovely pork chops Lovely friendly staff and I had a nice pudding went with family would recommend it to family members friends or people on their own just to go and enjoy the place is nice scenery is nice and friendly people couldn’t ask for better

Visited The Yew Tree Inn on recommendation, having 1st booked for Sunday roast lunch and checking that dogs are allowed in, which they are. Arrived for 1200hrs and were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Excellent service and with exceptional roast pork with all the accompanying roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. We couldn't walk away without the home made cheesecakes Hopefully we will return again soon!

I don’t normally write reviews but the feeling we had leaving the Yew Tree Inn meant I felt the need to share. We stumbled across it by accident but what an experience. Beautifully situated next to the River Severn, the views are stunning. On top of that the food and service were incredible. We visited with our 10 year old and 5 month old, who decided to play up when the food arrived. The staff took it upon themselves to entertain our baby so we could eat in peace. Super friendly. All the food was home cooked and delicious. We will definitely be back for the Sunday roast!

Lovely place for a pint in the sun and by the river, off the beaten track but a beautiful setting with lots of garden for the dogs and kids

After a lovely walk from Haw Bridge to the pub we had a great scampi and chips and the dog enjoyed his three sausages.

Went for the first time today, based in a very nice area with nice surroundings. The pub itself is lovely and cosy. Staff are all very nice and made us feel welcome. Our food was delicious good portion sizes can't fault anything about this place. They were also very welcoming and accommodated us and our dog with no issues. Will be coming again!

Lovely food and great quantities for the dessert. Only issue is they didn't allow dogs in the restaurant. Might be a plus for some people!

We visited this pub on our way passed on the river What can I say the food was absolutely beautiful all freshly cooked. The staff went above and beyond when we asked if they did breakfast they accommodated for us all you wouldn't have had that service at our local Thank you so much

Delicious home cooked Sunday dinner with Yorkshire puds and the best cauliflower cheese. Lovely homely family atmosphere and a pint outside watching the river (and the sailors) go by whilst the meal goes down.

Dropped in spontaneously on a Sunday, and fortunately nothing was too much trouble to squeeze us in for a roast dinner. Superb location watching the boats enjoying lunch. I presume its family run, which showed in the friendliness and lovely home cooked food. We will definitely be back... you wont go hungry here.

We would like to have visited from our narrowboat but there was a sign on the mooring "no mooring, under repair". You are missing out on a lot of business! Though I see from your entry here that you're closed anyway, contrary to details in the Nicholson's canal guide.

What a lovely pub. Traditional home cooked food at a good price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lemon cheesecake superb as were the views of the river. Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again soon.

Lovely location next to the River Severn. Sat and had Sunday lunch in the garden watching boats from the sailing club next door. My wife had gluten free roast pork, I had the full roast beef which was OK. Freindly staff and a very pleasant afternoon. Nice walk along the river bank from Haw Bridge campsite although the footpath was badly overgrown and poorly maintained in places.

Lovely setting & good value home - cooked food

New to the area, visited after recommendation and was not disappointed. Fab food, served by a very friendly team, washed down by good reasonably priced drink. Will most definitely be visiting again, might even make it to one of the fantastic looking deserts next time.

Came of the river for Sunday lunch wasn't disappointed nice country pub beer garden overlooking the river I had the beef my father had pork brilliant recommend booking though we didn't but still managed to get a seat came back again afew days later moored overnight fantastic only one thing seems the sewer pipe from the caravan's runs straight into the river so try not to moor on the end of the pontoon especially in the summer! 👍

Very busy so you need to book. My friends had roast dinner and I had scampi in a basket. No room for homemade cakes where portions are huge - you have been warned! Sat in the lovely garden on the River Severn afterwards. Would go back again.

Absolutely fantastic 👋👋 unpretentious home cooking to the top level, all served with a smile and genuine good humour and care for the product and the diner. Special praise has to be given to the deserts created by the grand daughter of the three generation team running the pub, all show stoppers Mary Berry you ain't seen nothing yet 🤣. Really good friendly atmosphere

Beautiful place on the bank of the Severn. The food is amazing and the pudding is amazing it's huge. Plenty of parking etc. However you need to book a table .

Visited on a weekday evening. This is a nice pub by the river. We sat outside for a few drinks, then went inside to eat. I had steak, salad and chips. The portion was large and I couldn't eat it all, but it was very tasty. My partner had lamb shank which was tasty too. This is a nice pub, but the decor is tired and needs updating, but recommended it for the food and river views.

You will not be disappointed good food

Our friends took us here for meal. It was a sunday lunch. The table was booked by our friends. Its a lovely place with a big outside garden that has seating out there and its right by the river seven, so u can see the boats going past. Beautiful in the summer. We took our dog in with us although we couldnt take him into the main dining area we had places set 4 us in the bar. The meal was amazing. We all had beef with Yorkshires and roast potatoes. Then the vegs came in dishes so u could help urself. Beautiful. Then we saw the puddings woow they looked FABULOUS. My friend and I said we would share the chocolate sponge one. With ice cream and cream we only managed half of it. It was a very large slice. (See picture) we thank our friends Steph and Kev for a lovely lunch. And thank u 2 the pub owners it was Delicious. We will b back. Defo recommend.

Such a nice friendly riverside country pub. Turned up at 8pm on Sunday night and they were closed but the landlady said come and sit down. We had a drink and some cake (the cake selection is to die for...really well made home baked cakes, cheesecake was sublime, the crumble was excellent and the Apple pie was perfection!) Stayed an hour sitting by the river chatting away. All in all a perfect evening. Had some hot food couple of days ago and as you can guess that was fantastic too. Highly recommended.

Best Ham and Eggs ive ever had..(my family have been in Hartpury over 50 yrs)..The Ham so thick and tasty and the eggs sunny side up and just soft enough to dip the chips in..11 out of 10....!...Told my son forget the "Toby" for my Birthday i would rather this please...😊...

Random visit, nice good quality basket food as only one lady on duty. Lovely settings. All good ! Never know that it was there .

Cannot recall what we ate although it was not memorable as being poor. Our order was taken and the meals delivered. No offer of extras, mustard etc, and no further sign of the staff. We fancied sweets but, without any further interaction we gave up on the idea. I wonder if they would have noticed had we left without paying. They were fortunate we are honest folk.

Lovely location by the river but thats the only good thing i can say about this place. It was grubby inside and very tired. Clientele consisted mainly of bikers who seemed to take over the bar. We did want to eat but decided against it after ten minutes of being inside. Its dark and miserable inside and the tables were sticky and dirty. Staff were pleasant.

Fantastic pub, one of our regular Sunday lunch eateries. Best to book a table in advance as they can get busy with large bookings. Everything is home made; portions are big and leave you bloated! We look forward to each visit.
