Went for a steak night and it was fantastic! Food cooked to perfection. Friendly staff, great location and a warm clean spacious restaurant. Couldn’t recommend more

Oh dear, arrived on time ( pre booked ) to be welcomed by “ you will need to vacate the table by 2.30”. Wow , no good afternoon or how are you today etc. So not a very good start. Ordered drinks and asked how many lunches . All very matter of fact, no inter personal skills what so ever . Found table and then queued up for carvery.,Good choice of meats and generous portions together with lots of vegetables and sauces etc . Once main course finished , plates cleared and eventually a dessert menu was brought. My wife and I were full but one of our group did order a dessert and had to wait 20 minutes and remind staff that he was waiting for dessert .

The food is great but sadly the staff are lacking. Shouting to each other across the restaurant and wearing their tea-towels over their shoulders is more greasy spoon. A little better training is what is needed URGENTLY as this place is not that busy and needs to draw people in with a better ambience.

Absolutely amazing food a the restaurant staff a bar staff were nothing but amazing! The food is delicious a the Guinness was amazing so it was more than worth the visit an I’ll be visiting the wheelbarrow castle a lot more than expected! 10/10

We booked a table on Tuesday night for dinner with friends. Neither of us had been here for years. What a fabulous meal! We had creamy mushrooms to start and my husband had the sweet chilli beef, all were absolutely delicious. The main courses were excellent, with huge chunks of tender steak in the steak and stilton pie. There was an offer of a main course and pudding for £10 so we took advantage of it and had a gorgeous pudding, even though we were all stuffed! The wine was very reasonably priced and the girls (Olivia and Faye) were welcoming, friendly and efficient. I was very surprised the place was so quiet, and also shocked by the poor reviews as we all agreed it was excellent. We will absolutely return and will recommend it to friends and family.

We visited this lovely country pub on a Tuesday evening and the four of us enjoyed a delightful meal. The décor is cosy yet fresh and contemporary, with lots of space between dining tables. We had booked a table in advance, but on arrival we were amazed to see the pub was pretty well deserted. We were shown to our table by Faye, who was very welcoming. An equally friendly Olivia took our orders promptly and she was happy to ask the chef to tweak one of the dishes to our liking. The starters were amazingly good value for money. Three of us had garlic mushrooms which were hot and creamy with a large chunk of garlic bread. Delicious! Another of us had the sweet chilli crispy beef which was very tasty indeed. The portion sizes of the mains were equally as generous. Two of us had steak pies and my pie has got to be one of the best steak pies I have ever had. It was fully filled with very large cuts of extremely tender beef with a lovely Stilton sauce inside a crisp pastry case. Absolutely perfect. The other two mains (a very tasty well-stacked burger and a Hunters Chicken) were equally as satisfying. We barely had space for puddings, but these arrived in good time and were also delicious. The wine was also good quality and costing under £16 a bottle was a relatively low price compared with other similar pubs. Special mention needs to be made about the lovely staff (Faye & Olivia) who were friendly and attentive the whole evening without being over-bearing. We were the only diners in all evening which was rather surprising given the amazing food. We assumed it must just be Tuesdays are quiet, but people really are missing out by not taking advantage of such a delightful country pub with great food and service. We will definitely be back.

If you have any taste buds left don’t insult them by comeing hear hospital food at best ! Everything over cooked beef crumbling off pork with the taste cooked out of it veg you could mash in to a purée it was so over cooked in truth it was rubbish . My son took me there because he had heard it was under new management? It seemed to be but must have same chef! I don’t Understand how people go there and eat this crap unless they are passing through and stop off because from the outside it looks nice? Beware do not have the CARVERY

Have been here for Sunday lunch in the past. Went on a Saturday, it was very quiet. Waited 15mins for menus. Only saw 3 members of staff. Waited ages for starters. No extra cutlery came. Prawn cocktail came in dish and supposed to come with warm bread. You could tell just come out freezer was so cold. Mains were ok, but prices on website did not match menu we were given,most were an extra £1. One food order was wrong. Childrens food was ok but not great. When we been on Sundays has been very organised. It has put us off going here again.

Really lovely carvery. We visited on a Sunday when carvery was the only thing on. Have to say really enjoyed it and we hadn't booked but was made to feel very welcome by the staff. Extremely friendly and great value for money

Just had a carvery at this lovely pub, the food was hot, fresh and an excellent choice of meat and veg. And food was served on heated plates. The choice of deserts was good and the bead and butter pudding was served with tasty thick custard( like my Nan used to make. ) The staff were attentive and pleasant and the lady who cooked and served the carvery did an amazing job. Certainly be back again😀😀

Super family Sunday lunch. The pub was full with a nice atmosphere. The carvery was piping hot with plenty of choice. Our waiter, Jude, couldn’t do enough for us! Super service, finding somewhere to store our granddaughters pram and finding a cushion for our other granddaughter when she couldn’t quite reach all done with a smile. We will be back!

We've been eating here regularly due to the welcoming atmosphere, quality and choice of food. Steaks are spot on and cooked to your preference. We also tried the pizzas which are the best we've ever had. The cheese is sublime and melts in the mouth.

This was our first visit to a pub, cafe or restaurant since February. The Social distancing and other arrangements, such as the one way system through the bar, meant we felt very comfortable and enjoyed our meal very much. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was Very nicely presented, tasted good and was good value. They’ve got lots of space, indoors and especially outdoors with a nice marquee and kids play area.Well worth a visit.

Went out with friends for a well deserved night out. This place was so welcoming and the staff were simply lovely. The food was a mixture of vegetarian and meat dishes my friends ordered. All of us were delighted with our meals and just had a great night. Definitely will be back and couldn’t recommend too highly.

Booking- We booked over the phone, the lady was accommodating and kind. Drinks- We were not waiting a round for a drinks order to be taken. We received the drinks correctly and swiftly. Food- Starter, we had sharing nachos. The waitress brought this over with side plates but no napkins or cutlery! Main, we had two of the sirloin steaks. A medium well and a rare which were cooked right. The steaks had clearly not been tenderised or allowed to rest as they were tough. We ordered the wrong chips which were changed for us but we couldn’t hear the waitress in the first place to get the right ones to start. Dessert, we had Black Forest gateaux which was nice. The cream was delivered in a shot glass which was disappointing. Staff were friendly and were happy for us to stay after the restaurant closed. Music changed after the restaurant from 80’s to modern day house music which was fine by us. The COVID precautions were good and we felt safe. We do very much doubt they have an underage drinking policy.

Dave and I went for a drive out stopped at the Wheelbarrow and Castle which is not far for home (Redditch). We have been there a couple of times. The food is second to none and is piping hot always. We were served by a lovely lady called Trisha who was very polite and friendly made me feel at ease after being in lockdown for months. All meals are perfectly cooked on premises ,prices are .Mains are under £10-00 but are adult servings, would recomment to anyone to give it a try, you wont regret it and will go back again and again

The Wheelbarrow have had a midweek carvery offer since lockdown restrictions eased - 2 for £10. Before lockdown it was £6.95. This is published all over their Facebook page.Last night we visited and it was £9.95 each. The Wheelbarrow have increased their prices for the 'Eat Out' scheme (doubling their markup!) but are not providing any savings to their customers. Social distancing precautions need working on - large groups of people on tables directly in front of the main entrance and no table service for those eating outside so lot's of waiting at the bar area and carvery station. Won't be returning!

We have visited this pub 2 times in the last year and have been delighted with the service and food. We had the carvery which was lovely. The pub is set in a quiet little village and the scenery is beautiful. We highly recommend this place for a spot of lunch, dinner or a drink

On Thursday night I ordered 3 meals for collection and received a quick confirmation. Collected the food which was ready on time on Friday evening. Social distancing was in place at collection which was easy with contactless payment.The food was well packed and still piping hot when I got home 10 minutes later and was delicious and cheaper than we have been paying at the fish and chip van.A lovely change from cooking and one we will repeat. The beef madras especially was lovely, meaty and tasty.
