Ye Olde Red Horse in Wychavon

We arrived at the pub on a cold wet Thursday evening, looked at the menu posted outside and decided to pop in. We were directed by a couple of locals outside into the eating side. The atmosphere was welcoming, as were the staff. We ordered faggots and mash, and lasagne. It was lovely. Hot and freshly cooked, decent portions very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend a visit.

Very friendly staff, and a very big plateful of Chicken and Ham pie, chips and peas. The pie was packed full of meat in a really creamy sauce, the best I have ever had!

Lovely Sunday Lunch, food was piping hot and there were 7 yes 7 veg on the plate as well as roast,boiled potates and a parsnip! Super service If you are not a big eater I'd advise the small plate it is more than enough. Can't rate the puddings as no room left! Definitely will be going back.

Visited Evesham today and found this great pub, dog friendly and we both had a Lamb sunday roast, best sunday roast we have had in a pub for a while, thoroughly recommend, everywhere including toilets spotlessly clean

Visit to Evesham and decided to have lunch here. Lovely quaint pub with great quirky decor, very friendly staff. Lovely cool courtyard garden with a small pond. Food was good, loved the faggots. Good value steak.

Great pub grub along with good service

I was told this was the oldest pub in Evesham! A proper local, the people, the service, the landlady were amazing and super welcoming! The place is full of character, the mini garden (at the back) was magical. Highly recommend! Great people!

Popped in on a whim as we were wandering around Evesham High Street, a pleasant traditional little pub. The staff were great, a good laugh and very friendly. The order took a while to come and we were really disappointed that the plates were stone cold with a hot meal on them, a shame as the food was quite good but for me that is not how you serve hot food. The real ale was really good and well kept. The Gents toilet was disgusting the floor was covered in pi** which was horrid. Wouldn't return but it wasn't all bad.

Only had a drink there meeting up with friends but a pleasant experience in the lovely courtyard at the back. Also dog friendly but not in the restaurant.

Staying In Evesham for a few days , popped in here with my dog , on a walk , the staff We're lovely, and even the locals were all welcoming and chatty , little fountain in the beer garden was chilling, my dog was hungry as he doesn't eat dog food, the cook brought him some fresh chicken , how kind and beautiful was that , definitely go in again x really enjoyed it

Stopped in randomly for drinks on a Saturday as we heard it was dog friendly and had a good atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The staff were great towards our 3 year old and our dog was happy to be allowed inside. The ale was on point as well. We are looking forward to returning very soon!

They have a wonderful beer made by the Wye Brewery called Hereford Ale. The service is friendly and they have a real fireplace.

The Red Horse is a country pub in the town.Beams open fire and very good food.The steaks especially the food is home made and that makes a difference. The pub is well run the beer kept to perfection and great service provided by dedicated friendly staff. In my opinion the best pub in Evesham

Not as cosy as picture makes out. Beers are good and well kept.music nights are fun. Some interesting evesham characters brighten up the place.real old pub no food.but food can be brought in.good baked spud shop next door.

We had a merry family meal...big servings and lovely atmosphere. Must return.

Great old pub, oldest pub in Evesham, sells real ales and real cider. Also does food and steaks..32oz steak available..this must be pre ordered.

Absolutely disgusted with the way me and my disabled mother was treated in this pub clearly a pub for local customers only chair felt like it was going to give way so i changed the chair for my mother when we was rudely interrupted by one of the bar staff that was runing the pub! Pub wasnt in the best condition very foul smell as soon as we walked in so glad we built up the courage to leave staff very unwelcome in avoid like the plague

I was very disappointed with the costumer service. The staff was very unwelcoming and unfriendly. We ended up walking out before we could order a drink. Highly recommend the trumpet inn next door for friendly service and great home cooked food.

Recently, 8 members of Salisbury Rugby Club cycle team, on tour locally, had lunch here. The food , service & beer were excellent - wish that the pub was in Salisbury!

A lovely pub run by Alwyn who cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. We found this pub via google reviews, looking for a venue that could take a party of 13 with two dogs, which is more difficult than it sounds. Alwyn fitted us in at short notice, the food was lovely, prices reasonable and the atmosphere great. A fantastic genuine pub, with a lovely landlady.

We turned up for lunch one day 4 adults, a toddler and a young child. Friendly efficient service, best we've had anywhere for some time. Everyone really enjoyed their food and drinks, good portions and friendly locals. Just wish we lived closer to visit again!

My wife and i booked for sunday roast 2.30 12/2/23. Arrived a little early and shown to a table by the lovely lady in the bar... The food was excellent we both had the beef, everything was freshly prepared and cooked. Best roast i have had in a very long time. The owner and her staff were brilliant. Very busy. Locals friendly Will be back next week. Good value for money Friendly ambience

Went in with hubby and our dog we were made really welcome lunch was delicious gammon for him and Stilton pasta bake for me very tasty and nicely served

They serve cornish Rattler and Dead Man's Fingers rum, what's not to like. Friendy place one of my favourites in Evesham. Well worth a visit

Our first visit to Evesham brought us to this cosy, warm pub where we ate delicious home-cooked food. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We used to visit Ye Olde Red Horse regularly but this was a few years ago. We dropped in on Wednesday lunchtime for a meal and, sadly, we were very disappointed. The lady serving at the bar was friendly and efficient but the food was terrible. Unfortunately, we had no opportunity to complain as the lady at the bar had disappeared and nobody came by to check if everything was OK. The battered cod was dark brown and badly overcooked, in fact, inedible. The faggots were OK but the pieces of onion in the gravy were raw. We noticed "Lease for Sale" signs in all the windows and wondered if the landlord has given up. Again, nobody around to ask. We will not be returning.

We enjoyed our generous lunch in the sunny hidden courtyard at the back. The food is great value and comes in huge portions. The staff (and the regulars !) are very friendly and helpful. A lovely traditional old coaching inn - no airs and graces - just homely and great service.

Great old fashioned pub, restaurant, we dined here two nights in a row meeting friends, good selection of ales etc, friendly staff especially the barmaid on our first visit, good food at sensible prices, I had the faggots and mash on second visit, delicious and can recommend the butty bach ale.

Dined here with friends Wed, 8th June. Excellent menu choices. The steaks were excellent, well cooked and very reasonably priced. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will most definitely dine here again on our next visit to Evesham.

My brother and I dropped in for a pint and a meal. There was a T-bone steak special on, so we ordered 2 of those. Unfortunately only 1 was left, but they immediately offered me a larger alternative cut, which I accepted. The steaks were perfectly cooked as ordered (How many times have you ordered medium rare and received anything from blue to incinerated?!). And indeed the who;e meal was delicious. What is more, both staff and locals were lovely and friendly, and the beers beautifully kept (we both had HPAs). We will definitely be going back.

Smashing pub and smashing staff, Lovely 8oz sirloin steak washed down with a tasty pint of Cheltenham Gold Beer , How lucky was I to visit for a couple of hours !!

On December 1st I made a booking for three rooms to stay in during the Cheltenham Festival. Seven weeks later this pub cancelled our booking with the old double booked excuse. I have had to find accommodation elsewhere at greater expense for me and my party and it has left a very bad taste in my mouth as this is totally unprofessional. I have given one Star as I wouldn't have been able to post this message but really it's a No Star !!!!!

Called here for lunch. The pub looks very inviting from the outside. However, once you are inside, it appears a bit tired and there was a large TV playing loud music which doesn't create a nice atmosphere. The food was ok, I chose the only vegetarian option which was a stilton and broccoli pasta bake. The sauce was a bit like wallpaper paste and the portion was rather small. A pity because it could be very nice with its historic provenance. It was not good value.

Nice little pub opposite the Almonry in the middle of Evesham. Very good beer but we only went in for a prawn sandwich and soup and it took ages to arrive. Only one cook in the kitchen for lunch. When it did arrive the prawn sandwich was very basic with no garnishing.

Lady behind bar was lovely the good came and looked lovely , very tasty no complaints until we found several long strands of hair in one of the meals needless to say couldn’t eat any of the meals . To be fair we didn’t have to pay for any of the meals but none of them were eaten

This place has not changed one bit in the half a millennium it's been around. Even after many years on a prominent corner of a 2-digit A-road (as it would've been until the by-pass was built), there is nothing remotely touristy about it; it's still the sort of pub where you go to the toilet leaving your jacket on your seat, & the regulars will guard it. I don't think I've ever come across a more authentic example of what a pub is supposed to be like.

I want to share our very good steak dining experience with TripAdvisor readers as this pub was an accidental find and sometimes those are the best!Basically we were looking for dinner in Evesham and saw the board advertising the Tuesday T-bone steak night deal, £34.95 for 2 x 14oz T-bone steaks with all the trimmings and 2 drinks. The picture tells most of the story, both steaks were well cooked to order, the chips were perfect and the whole plate of food was delicious. The steak was tender and very tasty. The mushrooms and onion rings topped it off nicely as did the drinks - some good beers are offered in thus classic English pub.The staff was nice and the service was good. All in all it was a very good meal and in my view very good value.

Enjoyed the setting for a group lunch. Decent pub grub - but quite a few of the options not available. Friendly service.

Uninspiring ale choice in a lovely old pub.

I am new in this town and had no idea where to go for a drink. From the moment we walked in we did not hear one friendly word. I have served in many restaurants and pubs and I know how important the attitude of the staff is in the hospitality industry, I was very disappointed. The drinks were OK, but if you're looking for friendly service go elsewhere.

Unfortunately there was no social distancing here. A crowd of young guys sitting close together watching footie on the big screen. We witnessed people coming in and not doing track and trace, or wearing masks. Disappointing, but we ate soup and rolls keeping faced away from others there, making sure we used hand gel after we left.

Spotlessly clean, nice drink but the lady serving behind the bar needs to learn to smile and speak properly to people-hospitality is not your forte love!

Very helpful staff. Fine ham egg and chips lunchtime. Beer good too.
