Lovely food 😋 husband v impressed with gammon steak, egg & skin on chips. I had scampi + halloumi fries, enjoyed it all. Atmosphere was right up our street, classic rock being played. Excellent 🤘🏼 Will definitely be going back! Nice people have taken over the management of this rural village pub. Good stuff

Absolute shambles of a place . Been using here weekends for over 10 yrs but tonight is the last time . Ordered food I had BLT and I'm not sure if we have a lettuce shortage in this country but mine came out with a stamp size piece ( have photo to prove ) sent back , didn't touch and was charged full price for it . Can't get served up the bar because the fella serving has to run to the kitchen to fetch food as well as serve beer even though there's waiting staff standing with arms behind her back . I would imagine that this is the managers first time running a pub and it shows . Such a shame as this was a great little pub I will make a prediction now that the management won't be here in 18 months or the pub will shut altogether.

Easily one of the best pubs I’ve eaten at. Run by wonderful and real people doing what they love and you can feel it and taste it. The butty and steak and ale pie are delicious. I came back another night for the fish and chips and left happy. It’s solid food and solid drink prepared by solid people with warm and cozy ambience. I can’t wait to return.

We tried the Gardeners tonight for the first time under the new ownership of Kieran & Justine. Wow!! The place is so welcoming & cosy, Hubby had steak & chips ( And a really good Guinness ) & I had Liver & onions, followed by Caramel ice cream & Warm Bakewell tart with ice cream, & two cappuccino’s. The presentation was beautiful, & the service was amazing. We will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended. ❤️ We wish Kieran & Justine every success with your new business.

Cosy pub, good variety of food. We went on a Friday lunchtime. It was quiet but service quick. They had a high chair for our baby and even a changing mat in the ladies which it never used to have. I also noticed some books for children which will be nice if we go back with my 5 year old. Tasty ale my husband says!

Thought the menu was poor, lack of vegetables on offer. Had to wait a very long time for our meal, when it came the portions were small, my husband had pie and mash, literally was a spoonful of mash, a small slice of pie, part of the pastry he couldn’t even put his fork into and a spoonful of peas, costing around £15, certainly not value for money. I love visiting the village and the pub but sadly won’t be returning.

Went for a family roast dinner. Was ok, nothing to rave about, but if you like your beef, maybe this isn't the place for you. It was the thinnest couple of slices we've ever had anywhere. Weve been visiting this lovely pub for around 10 years. The staff and place are all very lovely. However today we have visited and ordered the lasagne twice at just shy of £15 each. It was by far the worst dish ive eaten in a very long time. I didnt like to complain and understand that i probably should have and luckily my husband finished mine so wasn't a total waste. Not sure if its a new chef or maybe a stand in but it really didnt give the usual quality at all. Left very disappointed ☹️

The lady behind the bar is an apsalute credit, she alone pulled out all the stops to make us welcome and that we had everything we wanted & needed. The food was divine, we couldn't fault anything at all, also sat infront of a log fire. Not knowing the area we drove to take a look at possible venues for a family Wake and felt the comfort of the Gardeners Arms on arrival. Sam and her team were kind and considerate, nothing would be too much trouble. On the day we welcomed around 70-80 guests who were all made comfortable throughout the rooms, the log burner already warming the space. The buffet food was a mixture of chicken, spring rolls, selection of sandwiches, coleslaw and potatoe salad, with a variety of sweet treats also. We had a guest with coeliac requirements and a plate was prepared in advance. We couldn't recommend this venue enough from our experience, and many of our guests said they would travel to return here for a meal as it was such a lovely experience at the Wake.

We visited this pub as it was close to where we were staying Lovely pub, large outdoor space Not busy… probably about 10 tables taken. Food took 45mins to arrive. Wasnt great when it did arrive…. peas a little dried up, chips were over cooked and bread bit stale. Reason was that the chef was stressed as 4/5 orders came in at once. Totally get that it might take time, but at least make it nice when it comes and the chef being stressed isn’t a reason to leave us that long. I noticed other customers who weren’t there when we ordered were eating in the bar area when I went in to ask where it was. I’m not usually one to leave a bad review but £30 for kids meal, lunchtime (small meal) and a sandwich is enough to pay.. it should come timely and be nice when it gets there

It was served quickly and my request for no peas was accommodated (most restaurants do not do this - no allergy but I don't like peas!) and no peas were served with my fish and chip meal. Two of us went there, early, for a Sunday lunch. Service was attentive and fast. Decor was understated and clean. But the food... Oh! The food. Chef Pete, the food. (I'm moist and salivary now as I recall it.) We had 2 starters,a main and two deserts. The starters (Mushroom with stilton and walnut, and a beetroot chutney and then Sticky pork belly with an onion chutney, with extra of roast potatoes and a jug of gravy) were fingerlickingly delicious when the gravy was mixed with the mustard-grain salad dressing. The roast lamb was palest pink and tender as... as anything; a wide selection of vegetables were so tender and fresh that they were still probably still growing. The roast parsnip was the high-end equivalent of an Aunt Bessie's roastie, and the potatoes were actually better than A.B's. Other green stuffs were steamed to a T. For desert we both chose the home-made smooth, silky chocolate tart with raspberries and cream. Perfection. That pastry on the tart, Chef Pete, that was a perfect, crunchy gem of patisserie-ishness. We loved your lunch, Chef Pete. We were very pleased we took the first sitting at 12:00 because by 12:30 the place was heaving with people arriving, meeting friends, having drinks and discussing their lunch choices. PS Servers were not wearing masks at the time as this was not mandatory, (before Omicron) and I'm sure that, if we had asked, they would have put them on.

Booked a table here at the last minute as we were passing through and the reviews looked decent. Ordered some drinks and my pint was flat so ordered another which was not much better. Didn’t want to cause a fuss so ignored it and went to the restaurant section to see where we had been seated. A fat man in shorts was sitting at a table and he was really stern with my partner. He shouted quite loudly “err excuse me this is the restaurant” I said I know and we have booked a table. He dident even respond, he just grunted and mumbled something to the person opposite him. We felt very awkward and walked back out into the bar area. We then witnessed him bullying a member of staff which put us off the place completely. While we were there someone complained about finding a piece of plastic in their food so that was enough for us to cancel our table. The pub looked nice from the outside but was quite grubby inside and the landlord should book in to charm school for a while.

The Mount is my favourite place to eat in the area, great menu and great food. Beautiful location with stunning views over Stanton to the west. Always a warm welcome in this lovely old Cotswold pub. Locally brewed Donnington beers complete the experience. Look forward to next time.

We arrived at the pub on a cold wet Thursday evening, looked at the menu posted outside and decided to pop in. We were directed by a couple of locals outside into the eating side. The atmosphere was welcoming, as were the staff. We ordered faggots and mash, and lasagne. It was lovely. Hot and freshly cooked, decent portions very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent service and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. My parents had a fish and chip shop so I have a lot of experience 😅. Would recommend this place. 👌

This is a really nice pub and the food is wonderful. My only minor point is choice. I have been to lots of different carveries and this had a few less choices for example no mash, sweetcorn, broccoli or cauliflower. Otherwise honestly really nice.
