We had a delicious brunch at Langans. I had veggie sausage sandwich and family had sausage sandwiches and oatcake breakfast. Everything was delicious, generous portions with great service. The cakes looked fabulous so we took some home for later, they tasted as good as they looked. Very helpful with using the disabled entrance.

Loved the experience.The people,the food and the place. Can't fault it.The staff were friendly and courteous, and we were served very quickly.However we didn't feel hurried at all.We will definitely return. Beats M and S,we were told,'no brown bread'so we never returned.and it's like a pig trough too!

Great home cooked food & friendly efficient staff in a beautiful historic building. All this whilst supporting our community and the amazing O'Connor Trust! What's not to like? I have been coming here for years and it's consistently great! Don't even get me started on the cakes and mince pies! ( Steady! Not quite there yet!)!

Love this place as holds great family memories. My sister managed this place a few years ago and It helped her get back on her feet after years of addiction and being unemployed. The staff are great and food is delicious. An amazing place with a real dedication to getting people well and back in to thencommunity . Noreens legacy lives on. Fantastic place

I came in for a latte. The beautiful becky made a exquisite latte in a mug which I requested. The latte went down well, lovely chats with the staff and Sally the manager gave me an afternoon tea for 2 voucher which another customer won and they requested it to go to someone deserving. Thank you to the anonymous customer. Also as one of the front of house staff was taking some home made chips into the restaurant, I thought they smell well nice so I ordered some. What a beautiful day

Great Sunday dinner. I had the beef and my partner had the chicken. Fresh veg roast potatoes and a side dish with cauliflower cheese. All piping hot and very tasty. This is the second Sunday visit in a row. Recommend giving it a go. Value for money at £11.95. Friendly staff make this place a winner.

Superb cake! Victoria sponge was terrific. And the coffee was great too, so much so that I had two mugs of it. Lovely setting, relaxed and unhurried. Thank you.

The Sunday lunch was excellent. Plenty of beef yorkshire toasties plenty of vegetables and homemade cauliflower cheese. The all day breakfast is also excellent value with proper bacon and butchers sausage

Hot, tasty, generous portions of food served in a historical building. Staff are friendly and welcoming. It is also lovely that it directly helps to support the local community. Highly recommend a visit.

Decided to treat hubby to breakfast for his birthday 10/04/24 and wasn’t disappointed. We all had the full day breakfast which all four were cooked to our liking. The staff that were on that morning were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this place to everyone

I have been here a few times now. The staff are always attentive and polite, but more importantly the food is always to the same high standard. Possibly the best sit down breakfast in Burton. The decor is also lovely, keeping in touch with its beautiful Victotian exterior. I can't recommend Langan's enough. Well priced too !

After a touch of retail therapy my friend and I popped in here for lunch, we were welcomed by Lauren who was very helpful in explaining the one way system to us. My friends sister works here but was unfortunately elsewhere working. I had the Italian Ciabata and my friend had the Tuna Melt Ciabata, we were not disappointed they were delicious and very reasonably priced too. Thank you for your hospitality, we will be back again soon

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know this place existed until this morning. I was craving a full English and stumbled across it during a desperate Google search.First impressions were strong, points were gained because of their COVID restrictions still being in place. The place also just looked nice, it was cosy and elegant.The food was amazing, it wasn’t a standard box-cut full English. You could tell they’d put effort into choosing the food and cooking it well. I was impressed.I was slightly disappointed by the lack of music. The room had a high ceiling and it was fairly acoustic, which meant you could hear Barry across the room scratch his nose.I’m still giving 5 stars, I’m not a criminal. I’ll definitely be coming back!

A lovely turn on f the 19th Century setting with high ceilings and intriguing bas relief ceiling.A delightful bespoke tea served on the traditional three tier cake stands completed the feeling of being back in the early 1900's.Food was yummy with loads of sandwiches, scones and cake. Service was very sound too.They even catered for our non dairy needs.

Visited Langans tea rooms for the first time today. Lovely characterful building, very friendly and attentive staff. We had afternoon tea which was excellent, sandwiches freshly made, scones served warm with lashings of jam and clotted cream. Tea was also good quality and served in a proper china tea pot, ver impressed. With the offer of various cakes to choose from we opted for toffee and pecan sponge and lemon and almond, enabling us to try two choices,even better when so nicely packed up fir us to bring home .All in all a great experience snd with so many other options on the menu to try, we shall return soon.Thank you so much.

My husband and I had an afternoon tea delivery this afternoon at home. Booked on the phone with a lovely lady, and delivered today at our chosen time by a very helpful man who waited five minutes for us to arrive home after running slightly late! The food was fabulous, plenty for two of us, lovely and fresh too. The service overall was wonderful. I’d highly recommend having a delivery, so easy and a great treat at a really reasonable price. Great value. Thank you.

If you are looking for a spotlessly clean safe place to relax and enjoy a coffee or a spot of lunch this is definitely the place to go! The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and they have an excellent system in place to keep everyone safe, before you are shown to your table they explain very clearly how the one way system works, where the toilets are, you are offered to sanitize and use QR scanner if you have the app, Definitely rate them a five star for providing such a warm safe & friendly welcome, their afternoon tea and their cakes are the best!Beautiful building and architecture too :)Will definitely return!

Went for breakfast yesterday with family, excellent breakfast, friendly staff who were very welcoming and made you feel comfortable especially being met at door, temp taken, nothing too much trouble, well recommended see you very soon...

We went for an office lunch treat and were not disappointed. The Covid procedures were spot on from being met at the door, having everything explained to us with the one way system, QR code and hand sanitiser. The food was, as always, delicious and I can recommend the pan-fried chicken in honey sauce which was on the specials menu. Well done team Langan's, it is lovely to be back eating in.

We ordered a Langan's delivery for our socially distanced office lunch last Friday and make an excellent decision to get in the festive spirit and order some home-made mince pies for later in the afternoon. Lunch was fantastic as always (can definitely recommend the southern fried chicken ciabatta and chips but prepare to be very full!) and the mince pies were amazing. We have a vegetarian in the team and the staff at langan's checked that the mince pies were veggie friendly, she was very happy that they are so we could all enjoy them too. Delivered on time, clearly labelled so easy to distribute amongst the team and everyone was very happy with their choices. Thanks Langan's

After reading many good reviews for Langans Sunday lunch, booked in today at 2.30. Not a bad greeting, shown to table and right away was asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a beef lunch which was served up within 10mins. The plate was cold and the vegetables and gravy were bought along in 2 more trips. The beef was very overcooks, the roast potatoes rubbery, cauliflower cheese inedible as was the broccoli. The baton carrots were ok but cold, Yorkshire pudding cold and gravy was like dishwater, so disappointing as I had decided to treat myself as I was unable to cook due to an injury. The saving grace was the lemon and almond cake and the service from Lindsay. Thank you Lyndsey for your concern. At nearly £12 fo one person definitely not good value for money. Will not be returning.

By definition every other restaurant/tea room should follow this style of, sadly declining, service. Sandwich preparation is a work of artistry. The offerings are super fresh. Absolute excellence. If I lived in Burton I'd be a daily visitor.

Where do we start, booked a table for 6 as part of my daughters birthday celebrations, arrived to be told they had "nowhere to put us" was ushered into the staff room to wait until table was ready, not covid friendly, and then finally managed to "fit us in", poor organisation, NO apologies and an average afternoon tea, one sandwich cut into four and then have to go out to the counter to pick a stale cake, not your usual set up, didnt feel looked after and will not recommend or return.One positive is that ,Charlie who served us was a true gentleman, he knew we wasn't happy and bless him he done his best, shame about the rest of the staff.

The service was good. Unfortunately the “five bean salad” was some simple bagged salad, plain couscous and boiled kidney beans, with no dressing. Really odd choice to boil beans for a salad. The room was spacious and social distancing easy.

Great find! I traveled from Nottingham to meet up with some old friends. Wonderful welcome and an amazing afternoon tea, with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The cakes were sooo good and the service was excellent.I can’t wait to go back, but I need to run off the cake first!

Called in on 5th Aug, third day of "Eat out to help out".We were very impressed by the procedures that had been put into place, i.e. contact details taken on arrival, temperature taken, one way system in place around the venue, and good spaces between tables. Staff as always were very friendly and all day breakfast very good and extremely good value for money.Felt safe and valuedWell done Langans

We had full English breakfast delivered hot to our door this morning. It was beautiful! 8 items! Tasty, hot and delivered in less than 30 mins. You can choose how to have your egg, which bread you want and you can add items for extra 40p! They are delivering during lock down just call and place your order and you can pay with card over the phone.

We ordered the five bean chilli and a vegan shepherd's pie, one ready eat and the other for the freezer. Chilli was lovely, just the right amount of kick to it and the kids enjoyed it too. Very generous portions which satisfied two teenagers for £10 all in with rice too! Delivery couldn't have been easier or more socially distanced as the Langan's team put it straight into the car boot from their catering van as we popped the boot from the window! Thanks Team Langan's :-)

We tried phoning yesterday and got through to the booking option. Half an hour later we arrived and the table was waiting. Lovely full English breakfast which went right to the spot. Our only slight criticism is that the toast wasn’t quite done and resembled a cross between warm bread and toast. Minor issue though. Great meal anyway as ever.

Visited here today, having driven past the place so many times before. We had afternoon tea which I have to say was incredible value for money. It was lovely with great service. What I didn’t realise until booking was just what it’s all about. It’s part of a BAC O’Conner charity to get people back on the path, having previously fallen for the perils of D&A addiction. It’s especially warming to enjoy the experience knowing what good they are doing. We will definitely be going back. Thanks to everyone there for a pleasant afternoon and most of all good luck for the future

Went for a drive out & called in at Burton upon Trent.Had a walk around & having seen & read the reviews on trip advisor, headed to Langan’s tea rooms. The service is very friendly and they leave you alone but give you time to decide what you want and seem aware when you are ready to order.We had the afternoon tea for two consisting ham & roast chicken sandwiches, salad, scones with jam & clotted cream, plus home made cakes & a giant pot of tea served in nice china cups. All of this for just £14.50 for the 2 of us. Very nice

Always a warm welcome here. I Love that I get my tea in proper china crockery. This cafe is run by a charity for people recovering from addiction, giving them jobs etc. I much prefer supporting independent cafes and businesses and this is top of my list locally.

We visited here today for my Mom's 80th Birthday, it was lovely we had afternoon tea and it was just perfect and the scones was delicious I think what sets this place above is the staff. The customer service here was exceptional, Paul was our main waiter and went above and beyond in service but I have to say the other staff we encountered was as good especially a young man with blond hair My Dad is blind and they catered for all of his accesible needs very discreetly and without a fuss. I will definatly be recommending this to others and we will be back. Well done on an all round great visit venue, food and service just perfect.

This is a social enterprize so they don't always get things right. However, the food is nice, the place is friendly and welcoming and not too expensive. A really nice place to go.

Took my husband for lunch. He's not been before. The service is spot on. Leave you time to decide but seem aware when you are ready to order. I had the soup, always excellent no matter what sort. Lovely hot roll with it. Husband had roast chicken sandwiches with a bowl of chunky chips and salad. Great pot of tea too. The sandwiches were full of chicken and on really good bread. All of this for under £14. The cakes are mouthwatering too. Too full today to try but hubby took a piece home. Really can't recommend it enough.

The atmosphere here is rather civilised yet friendly. There is a lovely range of cakes to choose from, well presented in a glass cabinet. They are tasty treats to be well appreciated just off centre in the town on a busy day. Tea is served in nice crockery in a pleasant manner. Quite cosy and yet dignified.

Had breakfast here with my wife and children. The food was absolutely amazing and so was the service we are definitely going back and will definitely recommend all round it is a wonderful place to eat

We've been here many times mainly for breakfast but we have been for Sunday dinner. We think it's one of the best places for breakfast in Burton. The staff are brilliant and always make you feel welcome. We don't always book and if we just turn up the staff always do there best to give us a table. BRILLIANT PLACE TO GO.

I have lived in this area for several years now and have drove past Langans tea rooms many times.So I was off work and my wife said shall we go out for breakfast I suggested langans well what a superb find the building was amazing and the breakfast was the best in Burton I have been to most places to eat but you will not get a better breakfast it was perfect all the staff considering they are all volunteers were 100% spot on and value it’s to cheap I would have happily paid more for what we got.So everyone in Burton go here for food you will not be disappointed ten out of ten.We are customers for life thank you.

Excellent sandwiches, fresh bread. The chips are to die for. Service was friendly at all times. The place is spotless, the staff are always cleaning. We will definitely go back there. Prices were very reasonable. Would 100% recommend.

What a fabulous tea room. The building is beautiful, the breakfast amazing & the service is good. At the moment parking is free outside due to broken parking meters but, even if you have to pay it’s worth it. Highly recommended

The afternoon tea for 2 people is amazing value. At £14.50, you get freshly prepared sandwiches, scone with jam and cream and a slice of cake etc (which you can take away). Totally recommend the chocolate brownies.

It took a Thai lady to point me in this direction. In my country we'd call it 'auld decency.' The service is above reproach, thanks to Treesha and Marius. Take time to survey the cakes on offer at reception, I have never seen eclairs to match their offering. The Victoria sponge is very light with masses of cream. The house blend tea was a very fine blend as was the house filter coffee, one of the best I have experienced. These tea rooms should be on everyones 'to do' list, it is simply, a wonderful experience.

I was impressed with the warmth of welcome and the range of food on the menu. There was an infuriating lack of some of the items and it felt that it was quaint, I didn’t feel that I was made special.

The rooms with high ceilings bring on feelings of past grandeur and civilised conversation. And that was exactly what was going on around me as I enjoyed the cream tea with congenial friends. Service was the right level of politeness and relaxed friendliness too.

I ordered a wedding cake from Langan’s, when I walked into my wedding venue and saw the cake I was so happy it looked amazing :), it also tasted amazing and all my guests enjoyed having a slice. Highly recommend Langan’s not just for wedding cakes, they do amazingly good cheesecakes and many other cakes :) thank you

Came for a 90th Birthday party. Had afternoon tea with plenty of coffee and tea provided. 18 of us in a room all around a big table, set with a nice clean cloth and bone china cups on tea-plates for each person. Not been here before and was impressed with the staff, who went about their business quietly and not interrupting anybody as we all sat chatting and enjoying the food. Three tier cake stands came out with Tuna & Mayo, Cheese, Ham, Egg, Coronation Chicken sandwiches etc., cut into large fingers and amply filled, garnished with salad. A tier of scones with jam and cream on the top plate. Cakes to eat there or takeaway. Most had takeaway as we were too full. The slices were huge. Carrot cake, Lemon, Victoria sponge, Pecan & Toffee, Chocolate Gateaux to name a couple. The only thing to spoil our afternoon was the rain!

We went to the Langan Tea Rooms based on the good reviews they had received on TripAdvisor. However, we were very disappointed. The main issue we faced was the poor service. It took a good while for us to be seated and for our order to be taken, and the staff seemed uninviting and unmotivated. We had been there for well over an hour and a half before we received our lunches, which were not complicated dishes at all. My friend had ordered sandwiches while I had opted for a staffordshire oatcake. Both were disappointing, with the sandwich lacking filling and the oatcake being very oily. While it seems like a good idea, the tea room was not up to scratch for either of us.

Visited Burton on Trent and decided to go for the full English breakfast. It arrived piping hot . Very enjoyable. Lovely setting too, staff very friendly. Would recommend anyone to give it a try. Would definitely come back here .

Had afternoon tea and was lovely. A friend had poached eggs, which were cooked to perfection - something I can never do. Sandwich menu on the afternoon tea was a little limited and unexciting but still fresh and nice. We all enjoyed what we had and very reasonably priced compared to other cafes in Burton. Easy parking over the road too - free for 4 hours - always a bonus in Burton.

I needed a local place to have an informal supplier meeting and decided to try here. The drinks were great and the cake was good (and gluten free). The staff were polite and friendly with good advice on what was safe and tasty for me to eat. So on the results of this business visit I decided to take my wife here to eat and we were not disappointed. The lunch was great and good value. Give it a try. You will be pleased you did. There appear to be plenty of regulars going there that like it.

Much better than you would think if you pass it in the street and not nearly as expensive as you probably think. Came here with family and staff were really friendly and food quick and tasty. Bill didn't hurt to look at at the end either!! I believe that staff are part of some sort of social programme (I cannot remember what it was but I remember thinking that it was a good idea!!)

Used to be a regular visitor but returned here with family for the first time in months last week, never again. I don't know what's happened to Langans, where do I start? Firstly the place looked like it needed a good clean, our table was grubby and sticky, muck in corners of windows. Crockery was chipped with years of tea staining. Not a good start and not what I've encountered on previous visits. Then we come to the 'staff'. The restaurant wasnt particularly busy the day we visited, and all the staff were sitting around a table near the counter, drinking cans of pop, with who I can only assume were friends of theirs being very loud, raucous and laughing and generally behaving like young people would on a night out on the town after having had a few too many to drink. Considering the ethos of Langans tea rooms myself and my family found this behaviour unsettling and made our visit a not very enjoyable experience. My partner wanted to approach them to ask them to quieten down but felt too intimidated to do so. There was a young Indian girl behind the counter who appeared to be the only one working, so the fact that the rest of the staff were sitting around laughing and joking smacked of racism to us. If this is a 'normal' day at Langans tea rooms we wont be returning any time soon.

Always good service here at Langhams and Afternoon Tea, as allways, was very nice. If you can't eat your share of an afternoon tea, the staff box up anything you've left so you can take it home with you. The room we have Afternoon Tea in is lovely. Also we often call here on a Saturday morning; with friend's and have a light breakfast. Also very tasty.

After researching for some time on where to take my partner and her family for her birthday so we could enjoy afternoon tea, I finally decided on Langan's Tea Room and I was not disappointed.
