The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

Made the mistake of stopping for food here .went for the medium breakfast oh dear .no wonder its deserted .dirty tables .dirty cutlery .cold food .burnt bacon .cold beans lukewarm tomatoes .fried egg looked like it died in a fire.absolutely appalling and they charge £34 to park overnight .unbelievable.the mankiest shower and toilets ive ever seen and there outside .appalling state of affairs .minus 5

We were very impressed with the high standard of food, the service was excellent , the staff happy and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were invited to a diamond wedding celebration and it was a perfect choice. We intend to return. Many thanks.

La comida estaba bien, no muy caliente, pidió tostadas con el desayuno, pero eso ni siquiera se puso en la tostadora hasta que nos dieron los platos. La comida probablemente se enfrió rápidamente cuando la puerta se abrió. En general la comida era pasable, pero el servicio era un personal decepcionado, miserable, ni siquiera podía decir buenos días! Parece que no querían estar allí. Dimos 2 estrellas para mesas limpias, suelos y tostadas decentes (incluso si venía después de que habíamos comenzado nuestra comida).

Came to Upton barn for first time 2 weeks ago and love it that much we have decided to keep our caravan on site! Angie and her family are so welcoming lovely people and the food is lovely too. Joeys bar brilliant place for a get together and dance enjoyed the lightning and music lovely atmosphere The site is lovely and relaxing with friendly people, theres a lovely lake, my husbands even started fishng! I see everything as a plus as other sites iv been on locally dosnt have a pool, bar, restaurant, or a club. Cant understand the previous comments

We were recommended this cafe and we weren’t disappointed. My husband and I had the ‘Chocks Away’ full English and as the delivery guy hadn’t been yet we had home made hash browns which were fabulous, and the eggs were double yolkers. Our friends had scrambled eggs on toast and had mounds! Highly recommend this place and the view was great.

I am discusted at what Greggs has become - A corportae greedy giant - Greggs used to be place where you could get a decent lunch at a fair price a tasty bite hot and nutricous - not anymore - its a rip off store!!!!! Greggs you should be ashamed!

I have been twice in the last couple of weeks and have had medium chips. The first time the chips was still hard and today they had no vinegar and I had about 10-15 chips in the box very poor so got refund

Popular public house on outskirts of city. Wide menu choice. Real ales available. Service is friendly and good. Food is good and portions are good. Well worth a visit.

We visited with family who live in the village, and joined the very well run and attended pub quiz. The Tarrington Arms is not a generic renovated pub, instead it retains it's original if slightly faded character, which adds to it's charm. It is also a friendly pub both in terms of staff and locals of all ages. A range of local beers and ciders are stocked, including real ales.

Fish was so awful tonight, it turned my stomach, it was completely inedible. Yellow/beige colour, rubbery and tasted awful. Have been visiting this chippy for years but lately it's gone downhill, fish and chips are very hit and miss. To pay their extortionate prices and have to throw your tea in the bin is disgusting. Will not be going there again.

Era así, pero con un piso de piedra, chimenea abierta y techos con vigas. La única manera de que hubiera sido más incómodo o territorial era si los habituales hubieran comenzado a rociar libremente su orina alrededor de la zona del bar. El barman no ayudó en nada. Se apegó firmemente al acto de la berlina occidental como si estuviera audicionando para un spaghetti western. El contacto visual está tan pasado en 2024 , así que se instaló de lado mirándonos y sin decirnos nada más que un grosero “¿algo más?”... e incluso eso parecía dolorosamente reacio. No me malinterpretes. No esperábamos que los lugareños nos dieran una palmada en la espalda y empezaran a recibir las rondas, ni esperábamos que el camarero nos jorobara las piernas por emoción. Sin embargo, era un ambiente innecesariamente incómodo. Un simple “Hola, gracias, adiós” habría sido suficiente para traernos de vuelta, pero después de esa fría recepción, no estamos planeando una visita de regreso.

The menu was poor, their had been no changes since we stayed last year. My husband ordered the risotto, he didn't expect to have to pull sticks of heards out of his meal.

Came for lunch before hospital and my veggie pattie was freezing. Not very happy worker, a smile would be nice. A staff member came in and started work without washing her hands 🤢. Not a good place to eat at all not recommended at all.
