Reviewed yesterday great lunch time stop stopped for lunch hubby ate off the lunch time menu. 5oz steak with chips and mushrooms which was enough for him. I had chicken and mushroom pie, with mash and veg was delicious. Service good, loved the interior decor, large outside area also with good amount of parking. Will definitely come back, good menu choice.

Look at the address - this review is for the CHURCH EATON Royal Oak, not the one in Gnosall as some people are confusing the two. Average food, average prices. Typical pub grub with no frills but delivers what it says on the tin.

My husband & I called in to this lovely pub whilst out on a bike ride over the bank holiday weekend. We were first impressed by the lovely welcoming staff & extensive menu that was on offer. So we decided to book a table for this evening. We can honestly say our meal was so delicious & the lovely lady Jody that waited on us was very pleasant, attentive & looked after us well. The young man serving was also very pleasant too. We both had the tandoori battered cod with sag aloo chips, yoghurt mint sauce & a fruit chutney & the batter just melted in your mouth. It was our first visit dining here & we shall definitely be returning again soon. We have already recommended this lovely place to some of our family & friends.

Disgusting food, totally overcooked and inedible. We came here for a special occasion and left bitterly disappointed - thanks for ruining our evening. We regret not going to one of the other pubs in the village which are all much better. Even taking a bag of chips home from the chip shop would have been a more enjoyable evening than this.

Tue lunch. No rump steaks, no chardonay.. however, the fillets were very good. BUT - I was moved to write this only because of the interminable wait even though business was so slack. Quite ruined an occasion.

Met some friends here recently and had a really great experience. Enjoyed the most amazing vegetarian risotto - really tasty and filling - the best one I've had by far. Lovely ambience and staff. Will definitely be back soon to try some more of your tempting dishes. Great wine selection- just a really fabulous pub all round The quiz nights look like fun too! See you soon :)

First visit since it reopened and I was not disappointed. Chicken burger with triple cooked chips, fresh, cooked to order so expect a bit of a wait. The portion was so tasty and huge. My mom had the pie of the day (steak and ale) packed full of large pieces of meat. Half a portion of veg requested and was just the perfect portion size for her. Will definitely return

Went in on the off chance and had a fantastic meal. I understand this place is under new management and they really seem to be making a go of it. Would highly recommend. Attentive and friendly staff

We popped over to The Royal Oak cycling from Derrington and enjoyed a wonderful Sunday dinner (Shoulder of lamb was fantastic), great beer, and lovely staff. What a great welcome. See you again soon!

Absolutely awful food. Salad served on warm plates? Why? had fish and chips. The batter on the fish was god damn awful, to the point that the fork had difficulty going through it. I could not finish it, it was that bad. When explained to the waitress, who appeared so disinterested and could not care less. Will not be eating there again, better of going to the chip shop up the road from them. I would not recommend.

17 of us visited here to celebrate my Aunt's retirement from work. We were supposed to go to the Molinuex but they cancelled last minute do to snow. A quick call to The Royal Oak from another family member and we all met there. My first visit here, we were well impresses. Food was lovely and a great choice of drinks behind the bar. Lovely place with friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit.

Had lovely meal here with friends. The Belly Pork was very popular with our party and I really enjoyed the Grilled Halloumi Salad. 4 Clean plates speak for themselves. We all had same dessert which was fine, but less inspiring than it sounded: it came with generous servings of cream or icecream. Seemed to be reasonable values for money too The pub itself is very modern and comfortable, with covered seating outside for smokers.

Met up with a friend for lunch. Had passed The Royal Oak many times but had never been in. We were met with a lovely greeting from a land lady. Food was good not too expensive and a bit different. Nothing too much trouble and plenty of choice. They have live bands in the evening and Bowling upstairs. A good old fashioned pub, there arnt many left. Will eat there again.

Really enjoyed two specials nights here recently. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection and so tasty and the steak was cooked exactly as I asked. I had the three steak platter which was to die for.

We went for a meal at the restaurant with my partner and were both really disappointed in the quality of food. The menu is presented in a very fancy way leading you to think this would be a high end g

Driven past this place a few times and it looks lovely! Went in at 2.30pm on a Saturday and it was empty! There was a table of 4 who were just leaving after a meal and that made us the only people in
