New Oakamoor Cafe in East Staffordshire

Made the mistake of stopping for food here .went for the medium breakfast oh dear .no wonder its deserted .dirty tables .dirty cutlery .cold food .burnt bacon .cold beans lukewarm tomatoes .fried egg looked like it died in a fire.absolutely appalling and they charge £34 to park overnight .unbelievable.the mankiest shower and toilets ive ever seen and there outside .appalling state of affairs .minus 5

I visited this cafe as it is ideally located on the A38 to meet up with others .8 of us chose to visit . I arrived first and got my order in . My breakfast was served relatively promptly . The black pudding came second. I had a large breakfast that was more than I could eat . I didn’t have the hash browns to cut down on fat but I could have done without the fried bread and two slices of toast . I should have had a smaller breakfast. Unfortunately there had been a rush on before I came and they ran out of bread when my friends arrived . The breakfast was a bit greasy for my taste. However the cafe was spotlessly clean and the toilet was spotless too. All my friends were positive about the food and service apart from the bread. I got the feeling that the staff had been under significant pressure that morning and were a bit frazzled . We wondered why they didn’t keep some spare bread in the freezer . Also more help in the kitchen . But overall 10/10 for effort.

I just had a medium breakfast here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice friendly people have taken it over, the whole place has been refurbished and the bacon is lovely. I'm only staying up this way for a few more weeks as I'm working on a job here that ends then but I'll definitely be going back for more while I'm here.😁👍

A truckstop that doesn’t allow breaks when the cafe is closed. Even though they allow overnight parking. That’s penny wise pound foolish! 45 minutes in your parking lot and quick use of facilities isn’t going to hurt your business. Should rethink your policy when the cafe is closed.

Lovely breakfast, extra toast given when asked without any charge, staff very helpful giving us directions

Stopped here a few times, staff are fantastic and friendly. Always join in with a bit of banter. Food is great. Lots to choose from. Will always stop here as I know it’s great. Never had a problem here. 👍🏻

Stopped here today and had a lovely breakfast, very nice staff. Shame about some of the bad reviews but seems to be mainly from truckers who think it's a free rest stop when it's clearly signed as for customers only.

Crazy woman owns this place. Very scary now, would never visit here again. Truck stop against Truckers!

The woman behind the counter is a witch, totally unprofessional. I had lunch there a month ago and was on the toilet for the next 2 days . Avoid, avoid, avoid

I am a trucker and stopped off to use this cafe. I used the toilet before ordering my food. To my shock, the prices were ridiculously high. When I questioned the high prices, I was told to go and find a chippy up the rd if not happy, I was then asked to put a donation in the box for using the toilet. The place was empty and now I know why. I would never use this place again!! The lady serving was obviously uneducated in customer service as, you are only as good as your last customer!!!’

Hardly had a chance to pull up in my truck when a woman was banging on cab door demanding to know if I was staying as truck park is for customers only. I was on a telephone call (main reason for stopping and also fancied a cup of tea) she became more aggressive and rude as I tried to finish my call. I decided not to stay due to her rudeness and when I informed her of my decision she called me 'scum' and a few other choice words. I would certainly recommend avoiding this place at all costs!

No faults with this place. Easy access from the A38. Visited a number of times and hired a motorhome from here as well. Excellent food, friendly staff, nice portions. Definitely coming back.

As a hgv driver i pulled in to have a break 45 min legal requirment after so long of driving nipped in to use to toilet facility when i came out i had some old bag telling me I had to buy something for using the loo i said i dint see any sign to which i said i was sorry the lady then continued to make a seen in front of other customers she then followed me out to my truck were she continued to harass me said ill leave after my break was taken to which she threatened to block in my truck good luck with that u silly old cow anyway I shall never use this place again utterly disgraceful food looks horrendous anyway

well used by lorry drivers from all over the world . its a great comfort stop .over night stop off on edge of the very busy A38 trunk road .

Stayed here for the first time tonight won't be my last Food was spot on and the staff were great See you soon and thanks 👍

Proper truck stop, good food, okay prices, good service, really decent coffee, an alternative to the greasy spoon is also offered, I'm coming here again

Popped in here for breakfast whilst staying at nearby Travelodge. Food is great! Staff are friendly and helpful. Service is quick. Will definitely be back when next visiting area.

No frills cafe which serves a hearty breakfast at a very reasonable price. Cafe could do with a little tlc as its a bit tatty and car park is a little pot holed but put that aside and enjoy this old style cafe.

Esto se merece 5 estrellas para alojarse es cierto de ser "un viejo café antiguo'. Fuimos allí en la recomendación en Tripadvisor como necesitábamos un lugar para el desayuno

I often eat here as it is near my home and a handy bike ride away, usng the nearby canal. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Standard truck stop fare, seems to be owned by a family rather than a chain so more friendly service than elsewhere

Me han estado bajando en aquí sobre una base diaria mientras en Staffordshire. La comida es excelente y a muy buenos precios. Tienes cocina casera apropiado con personal amable y es una cafetería familiar. Aunque conocida como un paradero de camiones puede hacer una parada para dormir unas horas en el coche o una noche en el camping. Tenemos un niño en una silla de ruedas y encontramos que este lugar era fantástico ya que tiene mejorada acceso desde el exterior. Por dentro es todo un nivel con movilidad reducida, y también hay una ducha para uso del cliente. Todos los aparcamientos tienen circuito cerrado así que te sientes ese poco más seguro mientras duerme. Hay una TV en la cafetería para que los clientes puedan ver las noticias y los días para mis hijos les dieron su dosis diaria de infantil CBeebies. Esto es en el mismísimo centro de Drayton Manor Park y Alton Towers. No me puedo creer que no he encontrado este lugar cuanto antes. Bien vale la pena caen.
