The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

So yesterday I came here (Golf Club) for a bite to eat at lunch, 12:45 with my wife and 2 children. Upon entry to the eating area/restaurant I asked the lady at the bar if they were serving food and if we could have a high-chair. She said yes that's fine and she will get us one. 13:01 No High Chair, No Menus, No Drinks, we were not asked if we wanted or needed anything no one came to the table to check on us, once we got the menu after going to the bar and getting one (which is bizarre)... The food on offer was not the sort of food that would suit a golf club in the heart of the UK in the countryside. I would not rate this place until they learn about customer service, the catering industry & menu presentation. I would be happy to come and advise them on how to improve... We left at 13:10 after no service, no drinks, nothing for a good lunch option on the menu... Oh and the hilarious thing is, there was no one else in the restaurant apart from us and two gentlemen having a coffee... 🤣 Absolutely appalling!!! DO NOT GO

We squeezed in the corner snug with locals and were made welcome straight away. The bar lady couldn’t have been more helpful. Trying to find the football match for us to watch. We stayed and loved it there. Lovely pint of Landlord and very affordable prices. We returned the next day but it was too full. See you again on our next visit for sure.

Waited 2 hours for a delivery. Called to check status of food and told very rudely that they are very busy and phone down. Bacon baguette is half a French stick with literally 2 shrivelled up pieces of bacon on. Couldn’t even taste the bacon. All the food was cold. Oatcakes we’re hard. Never ordering again.

Made the mistake of stopping for food here .went for the medium breakfast oh dear .no wonder its deserted .dirty tables .dirty cutlery .cold food .burnt bacon .cold beans lukewarm tomatoes .fried egg looked like it died in a fire.absolutely appalling and they charge £34 to park overnight .unbelievable.the mankiest shower and toilets ive ever seen and there outside .appalling state of affairs .minus 5

We were very impressed with the high standard of food, the service was excellent , the staff happy and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were invited to a diamond wedding celebration and it was a perfect choice. We intend to return. Many thanks.

They don't offer the choice of white or brown bread, they only appear to serve white bread for sandwiches or toast. Food doesn't have much flavour, it's quite bland. If you're vegan/vegetarian, they cook all food in the same area! People have walked out because of this. Not the greatest, however for a quick/cheap breakfast, it's reasonable.

Came to Upton barn for first time 2 weeks ago and love it that much we have decided to keep our caravan on site! Angie and her family are so welcoming lovely people and the food is lovely too. Joeys bar brilliant place for a get together and dance enjoyed the lightning and music lovely atmosphere The site is lovely and relaxing with friendly people, theres a lovely lake, my husbands even started fishng! I see everything as a plus as other sites iv been on locally dosnt have a pool, bar, restaurant, or a club. Cant understand the previous comments

We were recommended this cafe and we weren’t disappointed. My husband and I had the ‘Chocks Away’ full English and as the delivery guy hadn’t been yet we had home made hash browns which were fabulous, and the eggs were double yolkers. Our friends had scrambled eggs on toast and had mounds! Highly recommend this place and the view was great.

Such poor service lady at the bar was very very rude couldn’t have been any more unhelpful didn’t even stay for the drink had to walk out.

I have been twice in the last couple of weeks and have had medium chips. The first time the chips was still hard and today they had no vinegar and I had about 10-15 chips in the box very poor so got refund

I am discusted at what Greggs has become - A corportae greedy giant - Greggs used to be place where you could get a decent lunch at a fair price a tasty bite hot and nutricous - not anymore - its a rip off store!!!!! Greggs you should be ashamed!
