The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

First visit, lovely friendly place. Made to feel very welcome. Food excellent, well prepared and presented, good portions, go with a good appetite. Can recommend fish served with chips, peas, curry sauce and tartare sauce also lasagna with salad and garlic bread. Certainly with a visit.

Just been there for a tray of dried up chicken meat cost of £8.50 which was totally inedible,disgusting food stay away thrown straight in the bin.will definitely not be going there again

When booking we thought we would have a lovely meal and high quality cocktails.. well what a disappointment. We were told at the start that they needed the table back before 8pm which was fine as we arrived around 6/6:30 which is plenty of time for cocktails and some food however, it took about 20 minutes to get our first round of cocktails which came one by one and by the time our food order was taken it was 7 o’clock. It then took 30 minutes to bring another round of drinks and our starters which were nice. At 7:45 we had empty starter plates on the table and knowing that we needed to be out before 8 it was going to be a push. We asked for another round of drinks and was told ‘no’ because the table was needed! This was BEFORE our mains had even arrived! Eventually the mains and next drinks arrived and the food was okay. The steaks were cooked well but had chewy bits through them which isn’t the chefs fault, the chip bowls contained about 6 fries in each in which we returned and received some more. Lastly, we finally had ordered 2 last drinks and one was a margarita.. well it contained no tequila.. which is a main part (especially when the recipient is a bartender himself 😂). We will not be returning

I am having occasional reffil cup of coffe there..good value for drinks and good atmosphere for working on my laptop.

Reasonable priced food and drink served by two very pleasant men We are planning to visit again next week with family for dinner.

Unless your a regular don't bother , came at Christmas, noticed for the kids entertainment regulars n main characters made sure regular children won prizes, did not help a local woman who was half drunk made it obviously clear while choosing the best 🙄. Was angry at time but was not worth arguing over a toy , but unless your face is regular will not bother , food was small but ok

Booked a table for myself & my partner, drove for 45 minutes to get there. Upon arrival the foh of host wasn't very professional. Pulled a face saying it's cash only, which was fine!! Told to go yo the bar & say what we wanted, yet again not a problem. Once finally served, was told there was no fillet or sirloin steak after we paid for the upgrades. Made our order of t bone steak with the waiter. Then too be told they had ran out. Lack of communication from the kitchen. So had too change our order too find out that what we ordered wasn't available aswell. Not a very good experience. I work in hospitality myself so I know how things work. Will not be going back

the chips were seriously under cooked. disappointing as normally good. order was 30 mins late

Had a steak and chicken dish. As was sitting outside we was told it had to be served on a plate not a skillet. All good. I actually preferred the plate as it doesnt continue to keep cooking and therefore no burnt onions. It was a fantastic meal and if i was to eat here again i would request a plate and no skillet again. 5/5 for the food.

Our Sunday lunch booking began poorly with poor service at the bar, however, once we were shown to our table lovely Lillie served us. What a charming young lady and very professional. The meal was lovely, the best slow cooked belly pork I have had for a while, tasty roast potatoes and veg and as much gravy as we wanted. Well done to the chef and if management are reading this Lillie is a keeper!!

Food was delicious and still hot. Fantastic customer service as well whem I called to check the note has been seen.

Had a lovely Birthday Dinner with the wife. Food and the service provided by Jane who was waiting on was Second to None. She made the meal even more special with the intentive attention she gave us throughout. The foos l was to die for .Spectacular In ever way. Complements go to the chef 👨‍🍳 for the attention to detail, And lovely taste Haven't been here before, And would definitely recommend it hands down. Thanks to Jane and the chef. For making our birthday a day to remember.

We had a fantastic experience at Hedgehog thanks to our server, Jacob. He was incredibly polite and attentive, providing quick and efficient service throughout our meal. The food was also excellent—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Jacob made our visit even more enjoyable with his professionalism and friendly demeanor. Highly recommend!
