Nice building, quite expensive, average food, service lacking. We fancied a treat for a rare evening out but we very disappointed. Fish and chips okay, vegan salad was bowl of lettuce with half a dozen strips of pepper an two cubes of sweet potato - bit meagre for £15, especially since we learned it's a pre-packed serving, odd for a kitchen not to do their own salad. Waitress kindly begged the kitchen for some extra bits to bulk it out. Its a salad made for toppings it seems and listed as vegan with no vegan toppings which is disappointing. Service was actually good to start, but unknown to us our waitress finished before the end of the meal, so we were left in an formerly crowded room with no-one to take ove to fend for ourselves. Drinks from the bar was fine, but trying to pay the bill was embarrassing. We waited at the EPOS station to pay, we're passed by waiting staff several times, even the manager saw me but wasn't coming over. It felt like everyone had given up - what a real shame, it could have been a lovely evening but actually felt really disappointed in the end.

Have been for dinner tonight, not been before and what a brilliant evening. Staff were amazing, especially our lovely waitress. Food was delicious, no issues adapting for my allergies and spolt for choice. Drinks .. Great selection and lovely non alcohol choices Thank you for making it such a lovely evening The Brulee Brigade!

What a lovely place. Food excellent, staff more than excellent, great ambience. Husband, myself and our friend enjoyed a really nice relaxed couple of hours, and l would recommend highly. Maybe book yo be sure of a table.

The Hedghog is always our favorite place to go for food, the atmosphere is lovely and staff are absolutely lovely. We were served by a lovely lady called Brooke and she was so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Bar staff were very friendly. Food was absolutely beautiful and hot on arrival and fresh. Can not fault the Hedghog at all. 5 stars all round ✨️

We celebrated a small family wedding at The Hedgehog today. Matt and his team helped to make this a very special day, and our server Zoe looked after us so well. Our food was excellent, and we were able to have a lovely room. We can highly recommend The Hedgehog and will definitely be coming back. Thank You Hedgehog!

Popped in for an after work drink and was served by Issac and Zoe. Both friendly and polite. Isaac is full of character and you can tell he loves his job. Ill be back

First visit here today (22/08/2024). Food very enjoyable and staff very friendly. In particular the waitress who served us (sorry didn’t get her name). Very accessible for my cousin who is in a wheelchair. Will definitely return.

The Hedgehog has gone from strength to strength with the new manager Matt. He's amazing, and who knew donkey rides would ever been seen at the Hedgehog?! Most people told him it would be a bad idea, but does GM of the year Matt listen? No. He gets those donkeys in and brings a touch of Blackpool to Lichfield. What a guy.

Very impressed with The Hedgehog the last few times I have been. You can see the recent improvements from the moment you pull into the driveway and see the beautiful building. The new look of the beer garden is gorgeous and seems to be a go-to for the Lichfield locals this summer! Great selection of drinks and the food is always piping hot, well plated and on point. Well done to the manager Matt and his team who are always so warm and friendly. Will be back very soon!

Excellent service and staff with a great menu

Ordered Sunday roast triple meat and was disgusted when it turned up, tiny slice of turkey and even smaller slice of over cooked beef and belly pork missing completely! Having complained about the missing pork and quantity/quality of meet waiter went away and came back with the missing pork, however, given the cost was £22 I refused to accept this dinner. My wife had already started hers and had already eaten half of it but the turkey was fatty and not very hot. Overall disappointing and wont be back, do yourself a favour and stay away from this overpriced, pretentious establishment.

I wouldn't stay here again. The music went on until 11.15pm, normally not a problem but it had been a long day. Just all very average really. The staff were very friendly and showed us up to our room and there were tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable, and it was clean. The bathroom was clean but there was no plug in the sink and there were greasy stains on the headboard. There was noise from other guests and machines throughout the night. We could have stayed at the Premier Inn down the road for half the price with purpose built rooms and a lot less noise.

Our waitress Charlie was an absolute delight, the loveliest most helpful person! She really made our night 🙌

First time visiting here with my sister. The service provided by Chloe (I really hope I've remembered the name right) was 10/10. She was attentive, friendly and considerate. Because of her we decided to stay after dinner and have some tea outside.

i was at the hedgehog last weekend with my family and it was really busy due to it being a saturday. the manager alina helped serve us our drinks and seated us to our table despite it being busy and our table not being ready just yet. she was fast and efficient and overall very helpful as we were seated and ready to order in under ten minutes. will definitely come back!!

This is our second time here. The Sunday roast was exceptional. Even our 10year old made a good attempt to finish. The portions were generous and the quality of the meat and cooking was excellent. The lady who served us was fantastic. She was kind and caring, she listened to our daughter and clarified our order. The pub itself is clean and well presented, there are gardens and it is a family friendly restaurant. We have been very happy there today. We look forward to coming again next time we are in town on a Sunday. Many thanks for making this a wonderful experience. I wish other pubs and restaurants could copy or learn from you all. Well done!!

Loved the food and service was grest

Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but very slow. It took 25 minutes for someone to come over and ask our drink order. The chicken skewers were very dry and the salad and tortilla needs some kind of sauce to go with the chicken. The lamb skewers were very tasty along with the fish and chips and fish finger sandwich. They were very accommodating with dogs as well. This is the second time we have been and both times service has been slow, but there are positives too and I am sure we will go again.

I ordered the seabass with king prawns. The dish came without king prawns. Which they bought out later in a dish. Portion size of the food was quite small for the price.

Matt and the team hosted an excellent sports day. Really good food, great service (the bar staff even offered me some gum!) Only place I think is better than this is a pub called The Anchor Inn, Wolverhampton. Mainly because the general manager there is more handsome than Matt, but that's all.

First time at The Hedgehog but won't be our last. Very impressed by food and service.

We stayed here in a party of 13,just last night 13th July…from arrival at 1500 hrs till we bedded down we can say we had nothing but fantastic service from the staff,the food was just about perfect..I think speaking for the whole party it was simply spot on..and safe to say we’ll be back. Had a lovely 2 night stay with my mum beautiful buildings and surroundings. Breakfast was excellent each morning. Staff super. Matt and his team couldn't do enough for you. Massive shout out to Justyna who is a absolute credit to the team was a pleasure to speak to her each day her customer service is second to none. I will be recommending to family and friends and can't wait to return.

i went to the hedgehog for the england game and although it was only a group game the staff were great in making the experience better and the food was next level would 100% recommend. the server freddie was very polite and kept our table tidy all night

I heard a lot of good stuff about The Hedgehog and I wasn't disappointed. Quick service and very efficient staff. Chloe our waitress was first class. Had the Chicken Parmigiana. Wow it was lovely. The girls went for the sea bass and really enjoyed it. Finished off with the cheese board. Why not indeed. Lovely surroundings and a great afternoon with great food and service. I'll definitely be back.

Visited here on. Friday lunchtime and it was very average. Ordered almost as soon as we arrived and after 40 minutes still no food - chased up what seemed like the only server on duty and the food arrived soon after. Elements were missing from both dishes - no onion rings with the burger and no pomegranate on the salad - I had the lamb kebab which was fairly dry and some pieces quite tough to eat. Decided to risk ordering desserts which did arrive quite quickly - crème brûlée was clearly straight out of the fridge although the banoffee choux was not bad. Restaurant was barely half full but clearly still not enough staff and for £70 for lunch expected much better!

Father’s Day lunch was superb, food great, service from Isaac was fantastic, very attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal.

Loved the food it was fathers day so very busy but staff kepts us updated on when our tabe would be ready The lady that served my table was amazing , friendly Given it was fathers day and super busy there was no dip in quality or service. And i normal dont feel out feedback but i had such a great meal i want the staff to get their recognition Improvements -the car park but this is out of your control parking was a struggle as some cars took up 2 spaces -we was not in a rush but it did feel long between courses however it was father day, very busy and didnt spoil our experience

The food was very nice! I was very impressed with the atmosphere. My waitress Emma was amazing, her service was unreal, she catered to every need of me and my family and ensured we had the best experience. I was truly amazed by the service and atmosphere and I will return soon! Amazing!

When given the opportunity twice and the food had to be returned for basic errors Ie over cooked and under cooked Deal with complaints well which perhaps justifies this negative feedback Better places in the area

Lovely setting with extensive lawn area for al fresco dining. Warm friendly atmosphere inside with various areas for dining. Good choice on the menu and a selection of wines Friendly attentive staff

Party of 9 . 2 chose garlic mushrooms as a starter, both starters cold, returned to kitchen. Lamb skewers, meat was tough,salsa and feta hardly evident, feta and salad, feta hardly evident mostly leaves. Pork belly tough, needed steak knives . Very disappointing, will not recommend or visit again.

We have been staying at Hedgehog for three days because we are writing the biography of the musician Muzio Clementi. This was his house from 1828 to 1831. The service is excellent and so is the cuisine. I forgot to ask the name of the person in charge who received us. A very nice, welcoming and hard-working young woman. I hope she reads it. There are all kinds of people, old, young and children and the atmosphere is pleasant and calm, despite being very busy. You can also eat or have a drink at any time (for Spaniards, this is essential). The rooms are comfortable and quiet and are named after historical figures from Lichfield. Of course, we have also slept in room no. 2: Muzio Clementi. Ah! And Lichfield is amazing!

We stopped by here on the way home from a day out with the dog. Lovely dog friendly space inside and out. It was a lovely day, so we sat in a sheltered courtyard area which was lovely! Really easy ordering via the app. Food was lovely and staff were really nice and friendly. Food was a little slow coming out, but the sun was shining and the pub was busy so that's kind of understandable. It isn't cheap, and i would say some of the dishes could do with a little finesse. The pork belly for example is literally a big slab of mostly fat, no crackling. If this was more refined it would have been 5*. That being said, I'm sure we'll be back.

It's how you deal with it when things don't go quite right!! I cant praise The Hedgehog enough. We have been a few times recently and really enjoyed the food, level of service from the staff and the overall great feeling of the place. Tonight was no different until I had a meal that wasn't quite what I expected, hasten to say my partner loved his meal. One or the staff asked as he walked past I'll everything was okay and I expressed my concerns. The matter was dealt with in a flash. No questions asked. The staff were incredibly professional and really friendly. I think it's easy to praise a place when everything is great. Tonight The Hedgehog showed me how good they are 100% We will definitely be back.

We had bar snacks. Really enjoyed them and it was enough for us. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back there.

We had our wedding reception and it was lovely. 48 guests to look after and 48 starters and main courses all came out as pre ordered no hiccups food was really fresh and hot and everyone commented on how good it was. Lots of empty plates. Staff were amazing and went above and beyond thank you to Matt. Justyna , chloe and isaac. 😊 ❤️
