Olde world pub that deserves to be on a preservation list. Very unique, in fact I don't think there is another pub like it, good ales to drink, welcoming staff, very popular during summer, bar menu would be classed as 'limited' but at the end of the day it's a pub. Do visit it

Lovely little pub. We stopped for Sunday lunch with our dog who was warmly welcomed. Staff were very friendly.

We go to this little pub for a Sunday carvery when we are at our caravan at Mellington. We have never, never had a bad Sunday lunch here, two choices of meat which is not scrimped on when being served it, good choice of veg which is cooked just how we like it…good choice of desserts, friendly staff. Serves a good Gin and Tonic! We love it here.

What a lovely surprise this turned out to be. The staff greeted us warmly, the Bistro had a lovely calming ambiance and the food was freshly made on the premises. We had a very pleasant few hours and will definitely return to enjoy the other delights on the menu, at very reasonable prices. Fish and chips Friday is first on our hit list!!

Wooden hut style building. Full English breakfast cost £7.00. Serve yourself hot drink. Friendly staff.

Lovely welcome from the young lady behind the bar, pub was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas too. Three beers on hand pulls, so a bit spoiled for choice. An excellent late afternoon session!

This is a great chippy; spotlessly clean, super efficient, good value, and with great fish and chips! We waited for our order to be cooked, so watched the flow of local customers who presumably had phoned their orders in, as they were swiftly served and departed. Our order; 2 cod and chips, both with salt and vinegar, one with tomato ketchup on the chips, was swiftly taken down and prepared perfectly! Thoroughly recommended!

Booked my daughter's 18th, really nice room, great food and staff were very pleasant, I would recommend, only issue was the toilets which smelled quite bad, but overall did not affect the evening.

Just ordered a buffet lunch for some guests in our office. The quality and value were outstanding. I am trying to think of an excuse to organise another one. Thank you Huntsman.

Staff excellent with good service food was good quality and plenty of it at a good price we had the lunchtime special £19.99 for two courses a very good ambiance I can’t see why people add such negative feedback they must have been having a bad day.

It has a nice beer garden that I’m sure would be lovely in summer, and it had lots of interesting memorabilia to look at too — I just didn’t get the best vibe from the place, but it might have just been an off day

Beautiful country pub/restaurant in a lovely rural backwater setting. Visited on a very busy Sunday afternoon which had a great buzz about it. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Food was great and clearly homemade. Prices were not too bad, but you do get what you pay for!. We had food and drinks including wine and coffee.
