The Grosvenor Restaurant in Staffordshire Moorlands

Great place. Been here a few times and food is always incredible, great value for money too. The staff are brilliant and it’s a lovely location. They put on a baby shower yesterday in one of the rooms and the burger was amazing!!

We visited the Coach House for the first time to have drinks and pizzas. It is a great environment with lots of atmoshhere. There are lovely brick walls, wooden beams and quirky ornaments and stuff on the walls, like a Shepherds Bush tube enamel station sign. There are also some comfy sofas to sit on. Access is only by wooden stairs. We had Aspalls draught cider, which we like. The pizzas we had were pesto and funghi (mushroom). The pesto pizza was nice but not excellent. It had too much pesto on it which was overwhelming, although the tomato and mozzarella were tasty. When you picked up the pizza, the toppings fell off. They shouldn't be doing this The dough base was nice and nicely cooked, but not quite excellent. My partner had the mushroom pizza. She ate nearly all of it so it must've been Good and preferred hers to mine. She did however say it was Good, but not Excellent, mainly referring to the dough base. Service was Good in our opinion. So to sum up, the venue is fabulous and the pizzas were Good but not Excellent. We recommend management offer more choice with toppings going forward. The only place locally we can compare the pizzas to is the Huntsman on the other side of Cheadle who also have a wood fired oven. We have to say the Huntsman pizzas are currently superior.

Met friends for lunch food lovely cannot fault it. They do gluten free and vegan options. The vegan mushroom truffle was divine will definitely go again.

Great location, superb interior of the restaurant with very elegant touches, the restaurant it’s like eating in a mansion. Great selection of drinks. The menu is a bit limited in choices, would of loved to see more selection of starters as there plenty of desserts. Overall food has been tasty, warm enough, good portion size and decent prices. Staff could be a lot more attentive to the customers. The place has a lot more potential than it offers, and it would be absolutely amazing to actually have a room maybe that you can visit for all the old items exposed on the stairs and around the place. Maybe also considering to have a special menu of food and drinks designed to fit in with the atmosphere as well as having the cutlery/ glasses/ plates etc in line with the vibe of the place. The menu could also benefit off having it printed on a different colour rather than carton colour and black writing as it is very hard to read. Big carpark around the back and easy to find the location. Would come back to try the breakfast selection and the sunday lunch.

Fantastic food and service. We went on a Saturday evening as a birthday treat. Been once before for the steak night. The chef can cook! The service was fantastic. Its our new favourite place to go. Well done and keep it up. Fantastic 👌🥂

Christmas meal out with friends. Clearly the venue had overbooked. Cold food. But the biggest disappointment was that the venue would not acknowledge afterwards that it was there fault. 10 people disappointed & probably won't return or recommend

Outstanding restaurant with the most amazing decor and great dining experience. We attended on Friday evening for a 3 course meal for myself and my partner. We were welcomed so warmly by the team and seated by the beautiful cosy fire. The table was situated perfectly with a great view of the restaurant and the amazing art. A warm and romantic yet gothic atmosphere the venue was outstanding with the atmosphere and attention to detail. I haven’t even started on the food yet… it was so good and the flavours just worked so effortlessly. I have shared images of the food for reference and to start we had the Duck and Pulled Pork Terrine followed by our mains of Duo of beef and the dirty Burger. To finish we had the apple eaton mess and the lemon pie. Our host for the restaurant was a very friendly girl named Liv. She was warm and very friendly and extremely helpful and polite. She was a really asset to their business. I honestly couldn’t recommend this venue enough and I hope they choose to host weddings as this venue is outstanding and would be amazing.

Not a great experience Started off bad and stayed that way throughout We had put on our booking we wanted to sit in the dog friendly part of the restaurant. They had ignored this and booked us in the main restaurant, they admitted this was their mistake (as it was showing in their system) and relocated us to the area we had originally booked. Service was painfully slow - we booked for 130pm (arrived early) mains took an hour , pudding s approx 30 mins to take our order and then another 30 minutes to arrive ! Then when we were halfway through the desserts the head waitress / team leader - came over and as politely as she could (not very politely) told us that they needed the table back for 4pm !! We had to tell her that it wasn’t our fault our Sunday lunch took 2 and half hours !!! We had things to do Too and didn’t want to be stuck in a cold dark unwelcoming restaurant for that timescale either ! This asking us to leave interaction summed up what appeared to be complete disorganisation from top to bottom , she should have known the reason we were still sitting there was them! I don’t know if anything has changed here since our last visit but the food was nowhere near the same standard- the puddings were hilariously bad . To cap it all off it took us ages to pay the bill as none of the bar staff seemed to be able to work the credit card machine !! Some serious staff training is needed in general . To sum up asking us to vacate our table after keeping us waiting all that time was truly shocking customer service.

Have been for breakfast several times and would highly recommend excellent value and quality visited for evening meal that was excellent this place is definitely worth a visit the quality of the food and presentation was fantastic will definitely be coming back soon staff were friendly

This place just gets better. An absolutely faultless experience. Fabulous food. Amazing staff and beautiful environment. It's a breath of fresh air when you find somewhere this good. They obviously know what they are doing.

I will credit that the venue looks incredible with all the Christmas decorations but unfortunately my experience was terrible!! Table of 8 friends arrived for our works Christmas meal, we were sitting for 10/15 mins before anyone came over to us to give us menus or ask for drinks! Drinks order was taken, still no menus! Another waitress saw we were sat there with no menus so bought them over to us and apologised! Drinks came and the waitress decided to take the food order half way through bringing the drinks so half of us were left with no drinks! Our waitress was very confusing when taking the order and we knew that it wouldn’t turn out right which it didn’t! Another waitress saw our drinks sat on the bar after 5 ish minutes and bought them over! One of the drinks were wrong, complete wrong wine! We spilt a drink on the table so used all our napkins to clear that up, our waitress came back several time to ask further questions about our order she had just taken because she ‘wasn’t sure’ Food came, 3 steaks orders (1 rare,1 medium/rare 1 medium) they all came the exact same. The medium steak was 100% rare, completely pink and chewy. No steak knives, we were not asked if we needed anything else or wanted condiments which we did and also wanted drinks and napkins! We had to go to the bar and ask for knives and condiments because no one came to us! Our waitress came back and apologised that she had made a mistake and forgot my food on the check :( She came back and one of us asked for a drink but she walked off before any one else could add to that and I obviously wanted one as I had no food at this time. She came back with the one drink then I asked for a drink and so did others, I also asked for napkins! I was told my meal would be 5 mins but I waited around 10-15 minutes. So my meal arrived when everyone else was pretty much finished! Our second lot of drinks came and still no napkins. I asked if she had the napkins and she replied ‘oh you want napkins’ My fish and chips came and they were actually very very delicious but when the rest of my friends have all finished the meal just isn’t enjoyable! One of my friends had mussels, he had 7 mussels in his bowl that were closed at the end which is really bad and they should have not been served! My meal and the steak were knocked off the bill along with several of the drinks! I can’t even put into words what a terrible experience we have had One of the worse things is that we never really come out as a work lot and with it being Christmas we were looking forward to a meal together! We were sat in the bay window facing the bar and saying that we can also see straight into the back. While we are sat there experiencing one of the worse examples of service our waitress was dancing around laughing in the back as if she had not just forgot my food and ruined our night Credit to Jess for trying to fix our problems to the best of her ability but unfortunately Tillie needs some serious training

Booked their Christmas party meal after visiting the site. The restaurant is in an attractively decorated old house, on a large site with many static caravans and cabins. Our meal was delicious, a combination of traditional Christmas turkey with a twist, adding a piece of roast pork and stuffing wrapped in a pastry case. It was accompanied by well cooked vegetables and a delicious rich gravy. Starters and dessert were both well above traditional standard well presented, original and tasty. Would definitely return for another meal there. Our package included entertainment, a singer who performed in the dining area; not sure that this worked, she did not come over as very professional and the music did not seem to fit the setting. This did not spoil our enjoyment of the evening, but neither did it add to it.

Fast becoming our "go to venue" for late lunch. We have been a few times, sometimes booked in advance, sometimes we just ring up last minute, always been rewarded with an excellent meal. Love the "atmosphere" and the care that has been taken to create the main restaurant area and the more informal "Library" area. When ever we have the dog [a retired Guide Dog] we dine in the Library. Just about to book up again to show the venue to friends. I wanted to leave a separate review for Breakfast at The Grosvenor, but can not figure out how to do that as it looks like 2 reviews of the same venue. SO I've amended this one - Excellent breakfast menu and a real treat when visiting local Auctions or Attractions.

Very rare I write a review but this meal was something special and the staff were lovely too. We went after a day at Alton towers so we’re tired but the place was very relaxing the service was great didn’t need to ask for anything.

We have just had an absolutely fabulous evening at the Grosvenor restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was outstanding, garlic mushroom starter,a roast beef and sumptuous lamb Henry for mains and terrific cocktails and prosecco to accompany our meals. It would be impossible to single out one member of staff for praise. The chap who served us with initial drinks from the outside bar, (Saturday 8July) the lady at reception each of the fabulously kind, helpful and cheerful waitresses. This evening was a perfect example of how brilliant an evening can be for a customer when a whole team works together and all seem happy and supportive to each other and give their customers a sublime evening.

I cannot praise the staff of the Grosvenor enough! I contacted them in advance and Lisa was wonderful in ensuring that my dietary requirements could be catered for. She checked with the chef and I was even able to choose from multiple options, which never usually happens! On the night we had huge problems I won’t go into and the staff were incredibly kind. Shout out to Dave who really rescued our night, and indeed our whole week! Seriously cannot thank you enough for your kindness. The venue itself is gorgeous. An 18th century hall done up but still very in-keeping with the period. I loved it. The toilets were beautiful even, and it was all very clean. Of course, the most important part was the food. We were both blown away. The chef is clearly very skilled. With my awkward requirements and my partner being vegan we really struggle to eat out, but not here. He had multiple vegan options to choose from and they offer a number of mocktails which is great for those of us who aren’t drinking. Both our dishes were so delicious I’m gutted we don’t live nearby because we’d be regulars! Good portions too. I wish I’d had room for dessert because there were so many lovely options and they looked delicious going to other tables. I really haven’t eaten food this good in years, and neither has my partner. The wait staff were so friendly and everyone connected with this place really went above and beyond to make things work for us. Thank you so much! We’ll be recommending you to everyone we possibly can.
