Excellent food. Great staff. Very reasonably priced. Sat in the barn and enjoyed the duo entertainment. Would highly recommend this place.

I full English a no poached eggs a yes. Take own pillows and ear buds for sleeping. Staff were friendly the room felt it needed updating and didn’t feel or look clean.

We booked a room to stay for one night, the room ( no:2) was very shabby and needs a full refurbishment including new carpet and a coat of paint. There was no furniture except a chair to put anything on and the bathroom tiles and shower was full of mould and the fittings were rusty. The breakfast was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend staying here in its present condition. We were extremely disappointed with our stay.

Update: We tried the new lunchtime menu with mains at £9. We were pretty disappointed really. I had the steak and ale pie ( fully encased). The pie is on the smallish side. Pastry was okay but there was hardly any steak inside the pie, gravy in the pie was nice. Felt shortchanged. The veg was good as were the chips. My partner had the veggie Lasagne. The portion for this is a bit small and my partner said the lasagne was just okay - nothing special. She was still hungry afterwards and would have liked another piece of garlic bread and more dressing on the side salad. We are fans of the authentic pizzas here, so, going forward we will stick with those! ! Owners reply refers to one of our old pizza reviews.

Went last week service great food great , fab , went back tonight just the opposite I am afraid.......last week the gentle man with a sling made sure we were happy with everything, tonight sadly the young lady wasn't as attentive, so mm sorry guys not so good

The food was lovely it was just a shame about the poor service upon arriving at the table were were ignored by waiters after multiple attempts to get their attention to place our orders after around 25 minutes of waiting I eventually went up myself to grab a waiter who eventually came over to take our order it’s a shame because of how long we were waiting around it was past 9pm so the full menu wasn’t available due to how late it was.

Totally nice B&B. We really enjoyed it. We ate there in the evening and for me it was the best pizza I have ever eaten in England. Then we stayed there and the room was like I would expect from a pub. We found it really comfortable. Beer and wine were very good The breakfast was the best English breakfast we have ever had and all the staff were very nice.

We went for Easter Sunday lunch, there was 6 of us all adults. I have to say the food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the room was really warm and cosy, we all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely recommend to anyone, plus me and my partner will be going again real soon, just hope they have treacle sponge this time instead of sticky toffee pudding! Lol 😂.

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and there were about 12 diners in the outside Lodge eating Pizzas. We continue to be very impressed by the pizzas here as we have been a number of times before. The quality is very consistent and the pizzas are truly authentic and cooked in a wood-fired oven. My partner had a Diavalo pizza and swapped olives for pepperoni as she is a veggetarian. I had the Mexicana chilli Flatbread with mozzarella added as an extra. Both pizzas were delicious. Service can be a bit slow if a number of customers order at much the same time. However, it's worth the wait for the quality food. We will be back for more!

Met my friends for lunch today. Was told the chef was off sick so only pizzas and sides can be served. I can honestly say, hand on heart the best pizza I have had in my whole life and I’m 57. Can’t wait to go back.

We stopped here for lunch whilst staying in a nearby area and it was a great place to stop! Beautiful pub with new and old combined. We positioned ourselves next to the fire which was lovely! The food was incredible and cooked to order, the best meal we have had in a long time! Bar staff was very friendly and stopped to have a chat which was nice. 100% recommend - I would travel from Nottingham to come here again!

Very nice popular and a fantastic function room

Went here just before a trip with our family to the Polar Express at Churnet Valley railway. Service was great with friendly staff. We had ( the wife and myself) the mixed grill and other things for other family members . The food was lovely whatever we ordered . If I could pick one thing out to say was most of the food comes from the kitchen in the main part of the pub brought outside to the lovely large festively decorated dining area . I didn't complain but my food( meats ..gammon lamb pork chops etc) weren't as hot as I would have liked. It is also worth noting this is a dog friendly area, with at one time up to 5 dogs who were well behaved. I am a dog lover ...but if you don't like dogs whilst eating be forewarned. All in all a nice meal to start a lovely day.

Today my family attended a wake for a very dear friend .the service and food was fantastic. Everyone was catered for,tea coffee hot food of excellent quality. Cold food also excellent. Lovely room and a warm place to talk and chat on such a sad occasion. Thanks to all the staff.

The huntsman had a very warm welcome from locals, management, bar staff and especially Reggie (their dog) Undoubtedly the best pizza I’ve had in years and freshly cooked in front of the cozy open fire. We will be planning on returning to the huntsman next time we visit Cheadle from Bristol. Keep up the good work guys, second to none.

A very warm welcome from the huntsman team on arrival. Room was nice and clean bathroom requires updating. The bed was super comfortable.. tea & coffee with chocolate bars that was a fab treat. Breakfast made fresh by the landlord was excellent the bacon and eggs were delicious.. fresh cut bread world class ! The bar area is well managed and I tried some of their fabulous bitters that were delicious. Highly recommend.. look forward in returning shortly.

A group of 9 of us visited The Huntsman on our way home from Alton Towers, we needed somewhere to stop to have lunch and stumbled across this gem. As soon as we walked in the staff were very accommodating, by moving 2 tables together so we could all sit as 1 big group. The kids loved the dog that lived on the property. The food was to die for and such a good deal. We had the beef roast dinners with dessert and the kids enjoyed the home made pizzas. The flavour in all the food was second to none and we could take the left over pizza home with us in a box to enjoy later on. They even went out of their way to make a different gravy for my husband who was allergic to the red wine gravy which was the only option on the menu. I would recommend to anyone in the area and if we are ever that way again we would 100% return. Amazing!

We’d spent the day at Alton Towers but as it was closing time and we didn’t want to eat there we stopped en route home. The Huntsman was one of the first pubs we came to and it looked nice so we stopped. Little did we know we were about to be blown away by the most amazing pizzas ever! I’m well travelled and have even eaten pizza in Italy, at the origin of pizza. Also in the USA. And most of Europe and Canada. But this was something else. The flavours were different but so right, the base was fluffy but thick and well cooked, the sides were also plentiful and cooked to perfection. We had a pepperoni, and a Brie, olive and jam pizza with chips and onion rings. I’m so glad we came here. Setting was lovely, especially the back wooden restaurant bit. Staff were largely wonderful, food was timely, although my only criticism is that, as we’d never been before, we could have done with a little more help as to which tables we could choose, menus explaining, and help with drinks orders - I got the feeling tourists were a bit of a burden and the locals favoured, which is only natural I suppose, and why not? But it didn’t matter or spoil the experience. The portions were so huge we had two pizzas between two adults and one child and even took half of the next day! Amazing. Thank you.

We ate here yesterday upon leaving Alton Towers. We were saw The Huntsman en route back home. When we’re surprised when it was only pizza and sides on offer as we were expecting ‘pub grub’ but we were hungry and all ordered pizza and some sides. The food was made in a pizza oven in the area where we were sat and when the food arrived we were so pleased that we had decided to stay, it was all lovely! In fact my 17 year old said that ‘it was the best pizza she’s ever eaten’ and she’s eaten a lot of pizza! I can highly recommend the food here and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Checked out the website before going and booked a table based on what we believed to be the menu. When we arrived there was no greeting or acknowledgement from staff the eating area itself is what can only be described as a large shed with wooden tables and benches and the only food they serve is pizza!! Asked about the website only to be told they have been locked out of their own website ??? Extremely disappointed so we left and went elsewhere, advice is don't go.

Absolutely brilliant - my 13 year old son agreed - best pizza and sides ever! The garlic cheese starter is to die for…as were the meat feast and chicken tikka pizzas..

Stayed here for one night and what a very dirty, unacceptable place to advertise as a hotel The room was filthy, the shower mouldy, the facilities were generally awful and the food if you want to eat is either a pizza, a pizza or try a pizza……that’s it The bed was from the 60’s the bedding smelled of pipe tobacco and the towels were like sand paper. Overall I would advise you stay clear if you want a restful nights sleep with some food. My god this will be etched in my mind for the rest of my life

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was very quiet with just one other table eating. We had the Mexicano flatbreads and chilli cheese fries to share. The flatbreads were delicious, top quality, filled us up and were very similar to the pizzas but nearly half the price!!! The wood-fired oven cooked pizzas and flatbreads are totally authentic. As it was quiet we got our food in a timely manner but the cooking time takes a little while. However, the resulting food is worth the wait!! On a busy day for food the wait for pizzas I imagine could be atleast 45 minutes or even an hour or more!! Service was good. We will be back next time for our pizza and flatbread fix!!!

Turned up to a quiet night at the pub with a couple of friends. Left in a terrible mood having waited in excess of an hour and a half to cook 3 pizzas and still didn't get them! No warning of a long wait. Staff are just accepting of this abysmal performance. If you want feeding avoid this place.

Stayed here last weekend after a lovely walk down the road. The staff were amazing - very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The pub and lodge are great too and the pizza especially is out of this world. The bedrooms and ensuites are in need of some TLC but was a comfy bed :) We really recommend this place overall

Went for Sunday lunch.It was the worst Sunday roast i have ever had.. The beef was so thickly cut and like chewing rubber. The plate was swimming in gravy. They cauliflower cheese was swimming in grease. Staff didn't seem to know if they were coming...

The food and service were both great. The chef very accommodating when we asked for more veggie choices. Sadly we won't be going back as the meal was completely spoiled by having to listen to the football on the TV on the wall next to...

We have chosen this pub to stay for our visit to Alton Towers as it had the best price for the distance of a 15min drive there and back. The dinner there was amazing, the best pizza we ever had.Was a bit difficult to check in as the bar staff was so busy. Regarding parking we had to wait until a guest left as the car park was full at the time of arrival. Breakfast was limited as to the very basic sausage, egg and bacon you could only chose between 2 options of veggies. But overall it was very good.

We came down for a lovely family meal after a busy day at Alton Towers, we came into the pub and we were welcomed and greeted by a lovely girl, she showed us to our table and was talking to our children about our day at alton towers, everything was going great until i saw a member of staff who was crying in the toilets, i continued to ask if she was okay and if she wanted me to go and get someone to comfort her, she said she was okay and she’d sort her self out and get back to work, 30 minutes later i then saw her been somewhat shouted at by who i can only guess was the owner, the poor girl look petrified and i can only imagine she was trying her best to do her job. The food was lovely and we had a lovely time but the one thing i can’t tolerate is seeing members of staff been upset and spoke to inappropriately when they only trying to do their job, they work for you and give up there time to help run your business. I was then planning on talking to the manager about this, but then she was seen to be standing outside smoking, surely this should be done where customers can’t see them, for me and both my husband to walk past her and a younger girl at different stages and hear them talking to inappropriately of someone of which i can only imagine was staff.

This is our local, although we aren’t ‘regulars’, we usually frequent at least 3 times a month. Today we called today for a lunch and a drink. We sat inside/outside and were then ignored by 4 members of staff/ owners for 5 minutes. We were then asked for drinks, which we ordered. We asked for food menus but we’re then told they would have to check if they were still doing food. This was just before 2pm (having been sat there for 5 minutes already). She asked another member of staff and then came back and said no, they weren’t doing food now! So we left. Following the waitress out I asked what time they serve food until, and she said it varies….. really?? More the like the chef, sorry cook, couldn’t be bothered. The owner brothers were posting recently how difficult it’s been to stay open through/after COVID. Well there’s something fundamentally wrong if they can afford to turn business away. There was only 2 of us, maybe they thought it wasn’t worth it, but out money went to Wetherspoons instead, who are open for food all day.Shame, this place is relying too much on staff that are too young, inexperienced and incapable. Not sure we’ll be back now, just out of stubborn principles.

Very sorry to have to write this but I let the first time go, me and my partner have both worked in the industry so believe we let more than we should go. Upon pre booking a table to have tea we arrived to be sat very hungry and ready to spend easily £60 we were told someone will take a drinks order soon, that happened within 10 minutes not ideal after a day at work but acceptable due to it being busy. The sever took our drinks order without asking if we were eating we had no menus- had to grab management to give us a menu/ we were then only given a pizza menu again we were disappointed but accepted they must only be doing pizza due to covid or staff etc. We waited over half an hour with menus in hands and were completely ignored. Unacceptable because the amount of staff on should of been able to handle the situation. When we finally got asked if we wanted to order we had already asked for the bill for our single drinks. And we left to take our business elsewhere. Really really disappointed it was actually the first time we had ‘date night’ since covid and it’s safe to say the night was ruined and we will not be returning/ warning all friends and family don’t bother shame but staff don’t seem to want to be there. Just turned into an expensive weatherspoons- don’t bother unless you just want a drink.

We visted the Huntsman today after a long walk and although weather was attrocious we had a most convivial afternoon eating and drinking. The pizzas in their outdoor pizza oven are just to die for and I would recommend the Diavilo with extra chilies ..... just perfect. They also have a fine selection of award winning Gins with of course at least one of your 5 a day fruit included. All in all an excellent visit and well looked after by the owners and staff. James

Went to meet friends - the first outing under Covid restrictions. Booked for early evening. Amazing outdoor space, great pizzas and food, well managed and spaced out. Helpful and friendly staff. Really good atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Nice little place, me and two kids, we got nice clean room a pint of delicious beer and breakfast for £106 what’s not to like. Great location if you plan a visit to Alton towers. Well done guys.

My wife and I had a beautiful Sunday lunch. The beef was excellent and locally reared. The vegetables were cooked very well and the passion fruit , lime and coconut pudding was amazing. Thank you !!!

Start with the positives, lovely onion rings and very good tartare sauce. Followed by very average fish and chips and burnt pizza. Food crammed onto the table - the tables need to be larger or the plates need to be smaller. Witnessed 3 individuals approach the bar and then returned to separate tables, witnessed no face masks on staff, no hand sanitizing visible from staff, no tables being wiped after diners departing.There were some customers entering through the exit door too! Despite the lip service of stickers and notices in the pub there seemed to be absolutely nobody "managing" the situation.

Loved the Huntsman, food was fantastic there was something on the menu for everyone and the specials board was varied too. Very patient with kids and dogs, good selection of real ale (and gin!) staff all brilliant and welcoming and ordered us a taxi at the end of the night! Lovely evening

Booked this restaurant on the Monday lunchtime for the following Wednesday evening, as we we’re visiting Alton towers and knew it would be busy with the eat out to help out offer on. We turned up 10 mins early as I wanted to make sure we were on time. When we walked in you would not think we were in the middle of a pandemic as their were no screens up at the bar like most bars have , no masks being worn by staff and even though signs were being displayed in the bar area advising to keep 1 metre apart the tables were definitely not 1 metre apart. However I gave our name to the lady greeting customers to be told they did not have our name down, I even showed her my mobile which confirmed I had rang them and been on the phone for 2 mins to the restaurant, she asked a member of staff who had been working on the Monday and she confirmed I had rang and made the booking, but unfortunately they did not have a table for us. Even though she confirmed it was their mistake. And the member of staff would be reprimanded for the mistake, the poor member of staff was clearly very busy when I called, and with the lack of covid safeguarding in place probably anxious about that aswell. People make mistakes, it’s how it is rectified, clearly the manager has had no customer care training. Rather defend this comment take head and invest in some training for both staff and management. I asked her what she expected us to do as it was a Wednesday night and everywhere was booked with having the offer on. She told me the village had plenty of take aways. I told her I’m sure she would not want a bad review on trip advisor and as it was their mistake clearly she should accommodate us, the lady went away to see her manager Connor and see if the table that was also booked in for 7.30 pm with a very similar surname had turned up when she returned she advised they had arrived and had come through the car park entrance, however this was an exit only door due to covid 19 and said “no entry” she then advised me if I had not threatened her with Trip Advisor she would have gone out of her way to help us out. Clearly she would not as she should have done this from the start! I believe she went and saw Connor and he told her not to accommodate us as they did not need the business, however let’s see what happens next week when the government offer ends. Luckily we managed to find a restaurant nearby who gladly went out of our way to accommodate us, they say things happen for reason! They certainly did that night as I believe we had a much safer experience and the food was fantastic.

Stayed in the family room after a long day at Alton Towers. Room basic, but very clean and comfy beds and pillows. Pub was great, friendliest staff I've ever come across. Pizza was spot on as were the puddings. Great selection of beers and wines. I would definitely recommend if youre after a B&B close to the parks and a homely retreat after a long day on your feet. Cheers we will be back.

We went there as a recommendation from our B&B owner as it was close by. The food had good presentation and the plates looked nice. The pizza was nice but fish and chips was completely unseasoned and dull. Burgers were dull and chips again unseasoned. Steak was just ok while the peppercorn sauce was nice. Staff ignored us for ages then came twice to get our orders. We were desperate to leave and they took far too long between giving us the bill and collecting the payment. Very disappointed!

Unfortunately website well out of date re menu. Didn't expect menu to be as full as on website due to covid however if vegetarian not great. Ordered 2 starters as a main which were delicious however husband ordered wrong dish as he found menu confusing but food still good. Staff very very good attentive & friendly didn't have to ask & water was provided for our dog. Would love to visit when covid over

Been to the pub off an on for years. Always a great beer and warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The owners are fantastic gents, they clearly care for the business and for beer! The new pizza oven is a fantastic idea and it’s genuinely the best pizza I’ve had. So much so it’s made come and write a trip advisor review which I rarely do! Take from that what you will.

We visited last week, just as the government incentive was announced - we hadn't't heard about it so Connor, the friendly landlord, explained how it. worked. The waitress, Amy, was also extremely helpful and friendly, too. Our food arrived nicely presented, good sized-portions; I had the Scampi, oh and the chips - golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy in the centre - seriously, try the chips!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service was great - I hope to visit again, next time we are in the area!

We visited here for Sunday lunch and it was excellent, nice selection roasted veg and the beef was melt in the mouth. Nice portions with frieldy staff and owners who make you very welcome. Highly recommended.

Third visit for food since lockdown ended but first since the new pizza oven had been installed. I ordered the 12" meatfeast with extra chilli and unlike other places it was absolutely loaded with meat. It had big chunks of tasty chicken, ham, spicy pepparami, chorizo and pancetta , not mention sweetcorn and copious amount of fresh red chillies. Well done Kieran and Conner - this is a great addition to the pub and I know it will be a great success #5⭐

I loved this place amazing People and amazing food although I had one little problem my dad wanted me to write this and I’m only ten so I can’t say much But my honest opinion is that the service was a little slow but I completely understand (it was a busy Saturday) sadly there was a elderly couple sat next to us the gentleman had luckily had his food which was amazing no problems but the lady hadn’t had her food strait after she waited about 10 minutes for her food to come the gentleman was very kind and waited but his food was cold before hers came :/ when the gentleman asked for some English mustard and the very kind and presentable waitress came and said of course then she went and served another couple and in the end he did not get any mustard. But altogether this place was amazing maybe some faster service also here is a tip maybe add your cutlery on your table before serving food because my dad was a bit upset because he had to go up to the bar to grab his own cutlery after asking twice :( the food was amazing I was very happy with it I would definitely go again hope you have a great time if you go :) thank you very much lovely waitresses. 7/10

Recent visit with my family. Very Good choice of beers. Menu little disappointing. Only one vegetarian dish available on Saturday eve ! Menu on website is out of date. Prices have been increased on some meals.

Called into the Huntsman after being let down by the New Broom.Huntsman very accommodating gave us a table for 2.Started with mushrooms in a cream garlic sauce. garlic crusty bread. AmazingMain was a Hunters chicken with BBQ sauce perfect.After eating this could not fit in a desert.Great food great atmosphere.

The place was quiet and warm. The food was lovely, it was tasty and well cooked and served. The service was quick and calm. A good place to go for a relaxing lunch in the week.

Came today for a meal with friends. Been many times for food and it did not disappoint. Conor, Kieran and team are always very friendly and accommodating. The food was lovely from start to finish, not bad prices either! I had the garlic mushrooms to start and the huntsman chicken for main. Both lovely. Thank you all at huntsman.

The hotel rooms are amazing yet the breakfast was grossly unfortunate. The food is disgusting!The owners rant on about being the best and everything but the breakfast was not nice. The sausages tasted off and didn’t even taste like pork. The bacon was alright. And they cant really mess and egg up. The mushrooms were dry and as for the beans, well....The cereals and toast were also good because they didnt need to do anything.Good hotel but do NOT eat the breakfast

I booked this b&b as it was close to Alton Towers and we travelled from far. Lovely staff who looked after us from the moment we got there. The meal was fantastic and great potions as well. Only complaint I had was it was a bit pricey for one night but businesses have to make their money. Overall a great experience

As it's our local we're regular visitors. They have a great drink selection with something for most tastes. The annual beer & cider festival extends the selection considerably. We have eaten here many times now either as a couple, with family or with friends. The food has always been great, the Irish boxty is a particular favourite. The pork belly with cider sauce is also delicious. They have various events throughout the year with something for everyone. Children are well catered for in the beer garden.

We went to the Huntsman as we were looking for a decent meal after a couple of days at Alton Towers and this place had decent reviews.

well where do I start.... after a 4 hour drive for a 2 day break, we booked in to this lovely traditional pub, greeted by the landlords, after booking in we were directed to our room, a lovely spacious ensuite, clean tidy, shower could have done with a modernisation and revamped. as we were thirsty headed to the bar!! the landlords were very helpful, welcoming and happy to help, and gave info of the local area. we were going to head into Cheadle but after a few beers we decided to stay and have evening meal. lovely traditional pub grub food, great value and more than enough portions "huge" you wont go hungry.... especially the chorizo bites, we even had them the second night for dinner... I dont like to grumble but I had the belly pork off the special, it was great but it was pork loin, I was expecting the crispy crackling tender pork belly , but unfortunately it was sliced loin. did make the waitress aware.

Great pub and and the food is amazing and very well priced, we stay here all the time when we go to Alton towers, Conner is a great guy and is very nice, would 100% recommend very clean everywhere too!

The Huntsman pub is located on the outskirts of Cheadle and has a large car park and beer garden. The interior was spacious and well presented and the greeting from the staff was very welcoming. Their was a large and varied selection of food on the menu including a specials board. This pub obviously takes pride in its real ales of which the choice was excellent and included a discount for CAMRA members. The quality of the food was excellent as was the service. The one piece of advice I would give would be to put on some background music as the place had the feel of a library about it as people were whispering to avoid being overheard or disturbing other customers. There was a large-screen television on with subtitles and the sound turned down. The value for money was very good and I have no hesitation in strongly recommending a visit to the Huntsman

Good meal, I had chosen the Sausage and Mash which wasn't the greatest of choices in high sight; quality of sausage very poor but otherwise ok. Everyone else enjoyed their meals.

Cant say enough about this place, had the hunters chicken totally amazing the sauce is a bit rich talk to the owner and he will tone it down a bit if you require.

Had a Sunday roast was delicious and you could tell it’s home cooked food. The homemade baileys cheesecake was to die for.

Called in on our way home from a shopping trip and didn’t feel like cooking. Food was very good, my request not to have potatoes was met with a fresh plate of good quality salad. Good choice of drinks, particularly the Jack Rabbit wine! The cheeseboard was of good quality and value.

Stayed here en route to the peak district. Owners and staff in general very friendly and accommodating. Gin selection outstanding. Family room we stayed in was nice for the price although in need of a bit of a make up/refurb. Breakfast the next day was limited in terms of choice and presentation in terms of the non cooked stuff. The fry ups were plentiful but to be honest not of the highest quality in all of our opinions....and we all tried different versions. Overall a reasonably priced stopover but you get what you pay for.

My wife, daughter and I went for a meal here, my wife had a steak and I had a mixed grill both steaks on the meals were awful, undercooked and tough even the steak knifes wouldn't cut through them. We should have complained but we didn't but needless to say we shall not visit again

The Huntsman is set in a semi-rural location, some way to the west of Cheadle town centre and is a friendly little village type pub with a homely feel about it. There were three ales on offer at the time of my visit, unfortunately none local, but a pint of 3D Fallout from the West Country went down very nicely. There is a good sized, reasonable value menu, supplemented by a range of blackboard specials, from which I chose the pie of the day, of which there were actually three to select from, Chicken & Leek being my chosen pie, and a very fine pie it proved to be, served with a choice of potatoes and a selection of vegetables. There is also a pleasant streamside garden.

Visited with friends after a day at Alton Towers as this is nearby. Food was delicious and there was lots of choice on the menu. Staff offered poor service, could not get food order, drinks order or bill correct despite several attempts.

Gorgeous food and lots of choice. Customer service was excellent. Dishes were simply beautiful. Good wholesome food. The pub is just in need of a little decorative attention.

What a find! 7 of us had dinner tonight: lovely, broad selection of food, excellent service and delicious food, we would like to return as best pub food we have had in a while

Stayed for a night to visit Alton towers with our 1 and 5 year old. Our 1 year sleeps in a travel cot and the family room we had was MASSIVE so plenty of room for the cot. The breakfast was great, it’s only 15 mins drive to Alton Towers so we did an afternoon on day one and then a morning in the park on day 2 using our merlin passes; much easier.

Decided to venture out from Alton Towers as their restaurants are quite expensive and not really good value, found this lovely little pub. Have to say the staff were excellent and the food was also amazing. very large portion and the rustic chips were lovely. will def be returning and will 100% recommend. Good prices also.

Visited today member of staff watched me and business partner walk in. Walked off 5 minutes later no return. Walked out I’m afraid, general appearance of pub looked clean just a shame about about the staffs attitude.
