Haregate Fish Bar in Staffordshire Moorlands

This is a great chippy; spotlessly clean, super efficient, good value, and with great fish and chips! We waited for our order to be cooked, so watched the flow of local customers who presumably had phoned their orders in, as they were swiftly served and departed. Our order; 2 cod and chips, both with salt and vinegar, one with tomato ketchup on the chips, was swiftly taken down and prepared perfectly! Thoroughly recommended!

Really enjoyed our food tonight, we’re staying in the area and popped in on our way back from Alton Towers it was near to closing time but still plenty of customers in and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fish and chip shop to others the food was piping hot and freshly made.

Went to this chippie as recommended on Facebook, soggy batter on the fish, quite a wait and chips had loads of little tiny ones all hard and crunchy would not recommend at all, fish grey on one side where the skin had been not too notch at all won't be going back.

We were visiting Leek and checked out the best F&C on Trip advisor and saw the Haregate Fish bar. We had a large order for 6 people which they had no problem completing. The order ranged from fish, kabab and roast chicken and I can report that without exception it was all delicious. Previous reviews are true the staff are lovely and serve with a smile. Would highly recommend and will visit again when next in Leek.

I was heading through Leek towards Buxton with my partner and we both fancied some chips. Googled "chip shop Leek", went on the website of the first one that popped up and couldn't believe how bad the website was and how expensive the food was. Instead I saw results for Haregate Fish Bar and decided to give them a call. Rang them up ordered 2 lots of chips, a pie and a fish. The guy at who answered the phone couldn't have been more helpful, told me what my order number was and exactly when it would be ready. We pulled up outside and I walked in exactly as they were bagging up my order. These guys know how to run a chippy, now I know how good they are I wouldn't use anywhere else whenever I'm in the area. Spotlessly clean, first class service, thanks guys!

Had food from here a few times and it's always nice. Fresh chicken kebabs are lovely you do have a bit of a wait but that's because they are cooking everything fresh so definetly worth it.

Chips etc... very nice and at a good price. Only downside for me is you can't just go in and out with a bag of chips you always have to wait 5 to 10 mins. But you know they are cooked fresh .

Family run chip shop in Haregate. Food is always outstanding, reasonably priced. The staff are fantastic and polite, always willing to talk whilst the shop is very, very clean with a 5 star hygiene rating I believe. 5*.

The Hargate Fish Bar is a local Family owned neighborhood take out shop. We are visiting friends in Leek and the shop is down the road. When ever I pass it is always full of the locals picking up take away. I have tried the fish twice and it is good! Nicely browned with a thin crust. Plenty of chips to accompany the meal along with mushy peas if that is your wish. Very friendly staff and service. Highly recommended. The rest. Is very clean with a current 5 star rating.
