The best restaurants serving British food in Stafford West Midlands

A large group of us around 18 adults and 13 children visited last night for my husbands birthday. We had pre booked with the owner as there was soo many of us. I wanted to leave a review to thank the lady behind the bar, I believe her name is Lisa (known as Leaf), she was soo busy but was really nice, polite and welcoming. This is one of our local pubs and we had a great night, thank you Lisa

Lovely lunch, food very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and attentive without been overly attentive. Time given to view menu discuss and make choice of what we wanted. Never felt rushed.

We are local living in the next village and invited some friends for Sunday lunch. We were horrified to learn that at 2.15 they had run out of beef and cauliflower cheese. They serve until 4pm. I then ordered pan fried chicken which was overcooked and tough, the portion was half a chicken breast. The roast potatoes were not roast potatoes very tough to get in to. The vegetables were stringy all in all this was the worst Sunday roast we have had and we eat out at least 2/3 times a week. Finally I do not mind paying for good food but to add insult to injury the food and drinks were overpriced. They are charging city centre prices. I will not be recommending this pub to all our foodie friend

Lovely village pub. Wonderful food and choice on the menu. Staff wonderful too. We would highly recommend and certainly visit again.

We met with friends here for a mid-week catch up and had a lovely evening! All of our main courses were plentiful and delicious, (fish and chips, Toad in the Hole and chicken burger) and the desserts were just beautiful! The restaurant was quite busy for a weekday and the staff were friendly and most polite, especially Olly, our waiter! The 'Ladies' facilities were clean with extra touches like nice hand soap and hand-cream. Thank you for a really good experience! See you soon!

Wow!!! Me and my mum went for Sunday lunch and the food was just amazing. The service was soooo good as well, Kendall & Chloe were so kind :) beautiful atmosphere, thank you so much!

Best Sunday roast we have had at a pub for a long time! Choice of beef or Turkey, huge amount of meat, the beef was very tasty and tender, well cooked and good variety of vegetables, good service and the chocolate brownie was delicious, will definitely return!

I do frequent the Beacon Bistro, it's very handy for work and their food is fresh, tasty and the staff are always smiling and happy to see you. I can't fault them at all, and would recommend the Bistro and the Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Panini!!

What a lovely way to spend our Saturday afternoon. Lunch here was lovely. The only critique would be the amount of crisps. 4 crips was a bit poor! Other than that the food was delicious. The tea was very tasty too. I’m very picky with tea. But This was lovely. Staff were wonderful and was smiling and seemed happy which is always nice to see. We will be visiting again soon. As I very much enjoyed the peace and quiet away from main cafe/bars.

Good food and friendly helpful staff

Delicious food friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. This was the first time we had visited but was on recommendation. Will definitely be back.

Currently trying to sleep three hours in and the music from the function downstairs hasn’t stopped. Wasn’t told that there was a function on that night. Apparently it is going to stop at midnight. This is no way a 4 star hotel I wouldn’t give it 2 stars. Never again.

Very cold inside, should have kept our coats on. A lengthy delay once ordered. The food was very poor, fish and chips as advertised but no tarta sauce. We have had this dish from the previous owners and it was delicious, this time it was awful

A great local chip shop run by a local family. Great service, spotlessly clean shop and cooked to order, so mega fresh; chips twice cooked, which adds to the flavour. Keep it up.
