Haughton Fish & Chips in Stafford

Called in for tea 7ish or thereabouts, order placed but the chips were already in a try assuming they had been already cooked . Disappointed with the taste , texture and the sogginess of the chips. Prepared to wait for fresh chips as I waited for the other half of the order. Should be offered fresh or told already been cooked .

A great Friday night treat, Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas. Friendly staff, spotless shop and great food. Can’t fault it. 5 Stars again…

Loved my fish and chips with curry sauce. Chips were cooked to perfection and fish was lovely and chunky with a nice crispy batter. Amazing value and service 😁 highly recommend 👌

Very disappointed this time in the past it’s been good the food is ok not as good as usual the staff where so disorganised not knowing what each other were doing not knowing what as been ordered would I use it again I don’t think we would

Fresh Fish crispy batter without the sludge between the batter and the fish. Really crispy chips. A great find. Been there three Fridays in a row, going back tonight.

Absolutely lovely chips, even though they were nearly closing, the staff put me some fresh chips in, because they’re other chips had been sitting there for a while. I don’t think any other chip shops would do that before they close! Wish I had more stars than 5, beautiful chips, recommend them to anyone, I had to wait till I got home before tucking in.. so so worth the wait thank you x Sheena the carer that came in tonight xx

Tried this chippy out nothing out the norm who rated this in the 10 best sorry i don't think so over hyped the food was nothing out the norm in fact i binned half mine fish was like it was packet frozen trust the reviews this has does not ring bells in what i tried and my wife it was low grade rubbish that was over priced will not be going back it was nothing like the web page and fb page say or the reviews given trust .

Delighted to see that Houghton Fish and Chips has been nominated for the best newcomer 2023 Award. I wish them good luck. Our meal tonight.....large cod (cooked to order) & chips was as delicious as we have come to expect. The success is down to a high quality product and very good customer service and teamwork from all staff. Thank you again. We will be back soon. Highly recommended.

What more can I say, a great local chippy, providing all the menu options you'd need. Chips are double cooked, and contain some bit - which I love. The batter on the fish was crispy, and the fish just falls apart...gorgeous. 5 STARS
