We've been several times now and can't fault the food, it's lovely. Especially the crispy beef salad. Unfortunately, everytime we've been we've been met with rude and unfriendly service from the head waitress. It's a shame because it's the one thing that let's the place down.

What a great disappointment. We have loved the kitchen at Amerton Farm since 1984, with successive generations enjoying Oatcakes, Milkshakes, Brown Cow, Amerton Jersey Ice Cream and above all the fabulous legendary cream teas. There was always the warmest and slightly old fashioned welcome We've not visited since 2019, pre COVID but what a sad change. Cold, austere and largely unwelcoming at 2.00 on a school holiday afternoon. The greeting was apathetic and disinterested. Breakfast items shown on menu with no indication of time limitations. We could all happily have chosen from that menu but absolutely no kee-way even for something like Staffordshire Oatcakes. We asked about cream tea availability with find memories of piles of warm scones in basket/huge scones which fed us for a week, in mind. Our server suggested this was something she'd have to ask about. Happily the option could be met but with one solitary scone on offer we were told that they would see if there was another out the back; apparently it is a very popular request says our waitress in explanation for the poor selection. One child ordered a burger lunch which arrived looking exactly like the ones available at popular American Burger Shops......fine for an 11 year old but no sense of country kitchen. Steaming pots of tea arrived followed by a scone each, a small pot of cream and a sachet of jam....we each checked in to see if our memories were faulty. My scone was almost inedible, doughy, undercooked and stale, although my grandson endeavoured to eat some of it, but apparently the one my daughter had from out back was fine. The tea and a luxury hot chocolate were quite literally the only redeeming feature. I exchanged my £26.50, face feedback on the poor quality scone with an apology but no mitigation. I know the industry has been ravaged and costs are through the roof but it is shameful to see the legacy of a once great family friendly welcoming space quite literally squandered. I review Amerton Farm itself separately but the courageous, visionary owners would weep at this sad space, service and utterly disappointing offering which we now consign to memory...

Good venue for lunch - we both had baguettes which came with chips, salad and coleslaw. The baguettes were fresh and tasty. We also had a generous pot of tea for two of us. Staff were polite and friendly.

We love coming down to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The food vans are a great addition to the village and bring a range of food to our doorstep. Always a friendly face and warm welcome down at the Duke.

What a lovely way to spend our Saturday afternoon. Lunch here was lovely. The only critique would be the amount of crisps. 4 crips was a bit poor! Other than that the food was delicious. The tea was very tasty too. I’m very picky with tea. But This was lovely. Staff were wonderful and was smiling and seemed happy which is always nice to see. We will be visiting again soon. As I very much enjoyed the peace and quiet away from main cafe/bars.

I have driven past the Royal Exchange for years. On each of those occasions I promised myself that I would call in one day. Well, today was the day! My wife and I walked from Aston by Stone to the Royal Exchange [6600 steps). The weather was kind and the Royal Exchange was all that we could have asked for. Angela, the host, was friendly, warm and professional. The pub was warm and cosy with an open fire and a wood burning stove. No music, just the welcoming background of fellow drinkers enjoying their favourite tipple and the chance of an undisturbed conversation. The full range of Titanic Brewery beverages plus very generous cheese and onion cobs was the icing on the cake. I realise now how many opportunities I have wasted over the years by not calling in. Angela does a great job of maintaining a 'proper pub' and I look forward to our next lengthy walk with a trip to the Royal Exchange as the prize. Thank you Angela for a grest experience.
