Amazing place to stop after a long walk. Booked for 10 people relatively last minute and they were very accommodating and flexible. Great vegan options, dog friendly and delicious food! Lovely atmosphere with log burners too.

Love this cosy friendly pub. Very welcoming with the huge log burner always roaring. We spent NYE here and what a great night we had! Singers were fab! Staff worked really hard to make the evening something really special. Food was great too! Thank you to Mick for the lift home! We couldn’t have asked for more!

Very average food for the establishment , been here a few times always been ok but don’t think I will be returning for food , I had the smashed steak burger wife had the pie , the burger was very small dry and a few chips very basic more like a kids meal , the pie looked liked a Holland pie you buy from a supplier with frozen chips and basic gravy not good gravy , we had a lemon and cream pistachio trifle , not sure what makes this a trifle it was presented nice but lacking any real flavour, nice pub friendly staff but food is below par

Last minute decision to go out for dinner and we chose well, the food was delicious, well presented and portion size was perfect. Plenty of options to choose from and reasonably priced. Service was great too!

The Knot It was absolutely lovely if you go book in the Snug log burner and food to die for had a pork crackling roast and the potatoes and veg come separately, I had smash burger with salt/pepper fries and slaw followed by Apple Tart Tatum and a lemon/pistachio Tuscan trifle couldn’t rate it highly xxxx

This is a lovely and relaxing place. The decor is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and there is a great selection of gluten free food or options to choose from. Great value for money also. This was our 2nd visit, and it definitely won’t be our last

Called in by chance Tuesday (22/10/24) lunchtime in the hope we could get a table. Nice young girl showed us to our table and took our order a little while after. Starters were cracking and the mains as well. The meals were off the 2 courses for £20 menu and were ample for us.

We had a meal at the Knot Inn the night before our daughter’s wedding, there were 30+ of us. The food was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were amazing. Special thanks to Sofia who managed my booking from start to finish, ensuring everything ran smoothly, excellent communication at all times. The pub is very welcoming and cosy, wish we lived closer so we could visit regularly. Thanks again to everyone.

We parked up for the night in our motorhome the pub was very accommodating we booked a table in advance and I have to say it was delicious would definitely call again well done to all the staff involved

Nice family meal, we all had a roast dinner, great portion sizes, loads of veg to share, the gravy was quite thin though, I prefer thick gravy. The desserts were lovely I had the cherry & almond bakewell and my partner had the lemon posset which was massive & I had to help him finish it (what a shame lol). Service was great too. Reasonably priced food.

Went for Sunday lunch today - and it was one of the best ever. We both had the roast sirloin of beef - which was "melt in your mouth" delicious - accompanied with dripping roast potatoes - roast root veg - brocoli and braised red cabbage - all beautifully cooked. Other roast were available too. The service was excellent - and there's plenty of easy access parking. It was fabulous and we will return - vegg soon !!

Celebrated a 60th birthday meal with friends. Very helpful and welcoming staff, nothing to much trouble. Lovely evening spent with friends.

Came for Sunday lunch - food was lovely, beef, big Yorkshire pudding, lovely assorted veg and choice of extras - we had cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. All lovely. The dessert were fab too sticky toffee yum and Bakewell tart. Archie our waiter was fab very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Not been since it has reopened, the food was excellent, we arrived a bit early but was not a problem, definitely be returning x

Great improvement to.previous owners,however food is varying and sometimes not cooked correctly,it is undercooked which is disappointing.We have been a few times and this seems to be the case staff friendly one of them is a bit loud and noisy bit OTT which spoils the visit also feel that you are rushed between courses,it is nice to pace your meal instead of someone straight on you asking if you would like your pudding straight after your main and or starter,but great pub now and I am sure things will improve as this is the only niggles annoying factors we have found.

What a lovely country pub set in the Staffordshire countryside. Welcomed as soon as arrived and shown to our table. They have cosy seating areas and this particular night were showing the football but at the other end of the pub so didn’t disturb us at all. Lovely staff. We were served by Caz, she was very knowledgeable about the dishes and told us what wasn’t available. Service was smooth, food amazingly tasty. I had the Katsu chicken Kiev and Gooseberry mess, husband had the pork belly and rhubarb crumble, which he said was possibly the best he had ever tasted. If you haven’t been already it’s a must! They also give you a discount card for your next visit 20%. Well done to all the team, so nice to have good food and lovely staff.

What a lovely place, it's great having the different eating areas. As this enables people with dogs to have their meals. But if you don't and prefer a more formal setting then the restaurant is perfect. The food is amazing, the pie was to die for and my husband's burger was gone in no time :-) Massive outside garden with tables and benches, ideal for children to play whilst parents can sit and chill. Can't wait to return.

The Knot Inn is our go to for a fantastic meal out, lovely friendly atmosphere, the staff are superb and the chefs work so hard to create delicious food.

Food was very good, the service was good, all the staff were friendly and very efficient. This was the first time that I had brought these friends and they were impressed with the food, the staff and the pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.

We were really looking forward to a Sunday Roast as I normally feed the family.We were not disappointed.It was absolutely perfect. Not only did they do all the hard work but it was better then my roast dinner if I say so myself! Everything was presented well and had a great choice of vegetables. No wonder,the place was buzzing.Everyone wants to eat there.

Had a lovely meal tonight with my family. Service was excellent and the food was amazing! (Highly recommend the steak and ale pie!) We sat in the restaurant area which was lovely and cosy. Will definitely be back soon!

Had a really nice meal with excellent service. The prices are fair considering the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend.

Food & staff are great but it’s now the second time in the space of a few weeks that we’ve ordered onion rings and they’ve forgotten them so only got delivered after we chased them. Maybe there is some fault with the way they order sides that the kitchen don’t get the full order. We also had to get the attention of the staff a few times to ask for more drinks rather than being asked if we needed anything. Only very minor points and will definitely be back as the foods outstanding but do think service has room for improvement.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch today the service as usual was very good and the food was excellent. Great place to visit with friends, we will be back soon.

Went here for Sunday dinner after recommendation from family. Couldn't fault it at all. Service was attentative and really friendly. The pub itself has a really good atmosphere and decor. The food was fantastic, we had the lamb and pork both cooked perfectly and also good portion sizes. Our daughters children's meal was really good quality. Will definitely be returning.

Had the most amazing Easter roast dinner, I had beef my hubby had lamb, gorgeous food, couldn’t fault the meals at all. Ordered the extras of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese, really enjoyed it, only sad that we had no room for desert

Food excellent as always we had lamb Bon Bon special and it was super steak pie was also delicious great big chunks of steak sauce delicious and gravy on the side full of flavour, have to mention the creamed cabbage it was superb. Finished with apple crumble and custard also excellent great cinnamon flavour and sooo hot! Another great visit

Faultless. Customer service was 5 star and food delicious. Extensive food and drink menu. Popped in for lunch on the off chance a table was available. Made to feel welcome, attentive staff without being intrusive. Would love to visit again if ever in the area.

This is my third visit to the Knot Inn and 2nd supper. The food and service could not be faulted. I now know what Hogget is. Had to Google that and the WiFi works great. Just the perfect warm comfort food beautifully presented and served on a cold wet evening. Good selection of beers and the lady behind the bar kindly let my overseas visitor taste a couple of ciders to make sure he chose the right one. Definitely now on my list for visiting clients.

This is my favourite pub. The food is always freshly cooked and delicious. The service is always excellent and the feel of the place is cozy and welcoming. There is a restaurant or you can eat in the bar where there is a cozy log fire.

This pub popped up on my news feed a couple of weeks ago so we gave it a try. Absolutely excellent food, we had the beef & reef sharing board followed by the sticky toffee pudding. All I can say is fantastic tasty food and plenty of it along with top service.

Called in for a meal with my husband , and we were not disappointed the food was amazing, we had the steak and ale pie and the Blue burger both were extremely tasty and excellent value for money , the pub felt very cosy and welcoming and staff were all extremely friendly , will definitely be back again

First visit for over 20 years. Was saddened to see a notice saying it will be closing permanently on the 30th October, due to the effects of covid. Whilst we didn't dine we did have two pints of Moretti, sadly it was as flat as a pancake and we left soon afterwards.

I'd rate this with 3.5 stars if it were possible as I wouldn't say it was very good but it's better than average. We went here with another couple and we were seated and served promptly. I was a little surprised to be told when I ordered a pie and chips that vegetables were extra and would need to be ordered as a side dish. I didn't order any on principle, I don't think it's too much to ask to include a few peas with a meal, is it?On the plus side the food was lovely and hot when it was served. I highly recommend the chips and the pie was delicious. Sadly, a very pleasant meal was let down by the service. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us regularly but made the (in my opinion) unforgivable gaffe of clearing mine and my partners plates while our friends were still eating. We were all quite shocked by this, the pub wasn't busy so it wasn't as if they were waiting for our table. I don't know if this was a mistake made by the waitress or the serving policy but we thought this was incredibly rude and tainted an evening which up until then had been very pleasant.This may sound like a petty thing to be annoyed about but I really didn't expect it.Please, either change your serving policy or train your staff properly.

Really good pub food, bangers and mash was brilliant, steak and ale pie was just as good, kids portions were generous. Allows dogs into the bar area.

After a day out we were returning home and decided to stop off at the Knot Inn.From the second we stepped through the door the staff were welcoming and friendly. The 2 pint stein is a great idea. The food was amazing. Great friendly atmosphere and with staff who couldn't do enough to help. If your passing... STOP... go in you won't regret it.

Came for tea around 6pm, got our drinks, and the coke was flat from the bottom of the bottle. Asked for another one and proceeded to then argue with the owner whether it was flat or not. He was then shouting at the bar staff because they slightly over poured on a pint. Our food came in instalments. One member not even getting his after we finished ours, they hadn’t even started theirs yet and it was getting on to 7pm. Asked for a refund for the meal and drink and was refused for the drink, until finally getting the refund for the drink as well and a new drink with no charge. We got sworn at and shouted at which wasn’t appreciated. Spoke to the staff and they said that there was a lot of stress going on behind the scenes which is completely understandable but you don’t speak to customers like this. Someone asked if the music could be turned down, which the owner then proceeded to go into the kitchen, left the door open and started punching the wall. You could tell that the staff has had very minimal training which is not to their fault at all. They were lovely and apologetic for the inconvenience and manner we were treated. As a new pub owner, he needs to have some sort of training or course for how to talk to people. Food was decent, can’t fault the food, but we were told after we ordered that we can’t order food until half 7 because they had a table of 8 coming in soon, the pub was very empty and this shouldn’t have been the case if we were here first, if that was the case they shouldn’t have let us order in the first place. If the staff read this, know your worth!

Service slow and good disappointing. We waited 40 minutes for our food which was a mystery when the pub had hardly anyone there. The food menu is pretty basic which is fine provided the food is spot on, which unfortunately it wasn’t.

Lovely, place. Nice interior decor and outside seating. Tasty soup, friendly staff. Great spirits selections and well priced local gin.

We came across this pub there was a sign at the side of the road which we followed , we had a lovely lunch . Food was delicious staff were very friendly and the place spotlessly keen . We live in a small village in Staffs and I’m sure this delightful pub like ours is the hub of the community

We couldn't have chosen a better place for a long overdue get together. A group of friends sitting outside in the sunshine in the lovely large beer garden. The staff were very friendly, great service. The food arrived piping hot and was delicious.

Disappointed with service. Didn't offer to check if we could eat. 2 staff stood around and slow coming over for drinks order. Didnt know what beers etc..we're available.

Due to current restrictions take away only but we thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway coffees and children’s hot chocolate complete with cream and marshmallows. Yum yum would definitely recommend 👍

Colin and Sandra had just opened when Lockdown came into force.That hasn't deterred them from offering Takeaway Food during the week, and Sunday Roast dinners (to order as takeaways)We ordered a Chicken and a Pork Sunday roast Takeaway with all the trimmings, sadly no alcohol, due to restrictions. Food was fantastic and plenty of it, and good value for money. Just a shame we couldn't sit inside by a open fire.Highly recommended I am sure once they can fully open it will be a Fantastic Pub to visit for Eating and Drinking.Good luck to you both.

The rsstaurant quickly filled up after our arrival and it was obvious most diners had booked, as we had. A fairly extensive menu and a few dishes in addition, on the daily menu board. Its quite an extensive building but one part is much warmer due to the open fire. My main course was lamb shank and my friend had gammon. Both came with a small assortment of vegetables. Whilst both meals were very tasty and well presented I considered the very small lamb shank to be overpriced. I have this meal quite often and I think I can fairly compare it with other places I've been We treated ourselves to a dessert but my friend got one he didn't order and the waitress realised this when we mentioned it and opologised. In spite of the rather pricey shank and the dessert hicup it was a very pleasant luncheon visit.

What a little gem this place is.We found it via the searchforsites website as we have a Moho and have sampled a truly wonderful Sunday lunch. The welcome is excellent starting point and that attention to detail is carried over.There is an effective menu of good, traditional food with enough variety to please most palates.We had a prawn cocktail to start and a traditional beef roast for mains.Very nicely presented and beautifully cooked we could ask for no more. A slight disappointment was we had no room for desert.

Stayed here overnight in our mh lovely walk down to rudyard lake. Pub very welcoming for our two small dogs also. Service exceptional, food very good portions especially the starters. Beautifully cooked food and presentation was lovely. Cosy open fires, comfortable seating a true home from home feeling. Would definitely be coming back and would highly reccomend.

Went here for a birthday and have to say, best food by far. Service was quick and friendly without being invasive. Felt like a real family run pub with a great food selection. We had a variety of starters and every one of them was lovely (especially enjoyed the breaded halloumi). We had steak, lamb shank and scampi amongst others for the mains and all were perfect and good sized portions too. Too full for a pudding but have heard they was amazing. Will definitely be going again soon!!

We had a family meal at The Knot this evening and what a lovely experience it was . Great effort had been put into decorating the pub for Christmas so that there was a perfect festive feel . The young lady who looked after us was really lovely and the food was spot on . Well cooked , presented and served . A great country pub once again .

Good looking local but I felt that I was pushed to order pushed to pay and pushed to get rid. I take my girlfriend out for a meal to pop the question after the meal and drink but as the staff made me feel unwelcome I bottle it and broke down and left without popping the big question. It might have just been the wrong place at the wrong time

Went to lunch with a friend, greeted warmly, settled at a table by the fire. No rush to choose meal, but when it came it was lovely. Very friendly, no time pressure and prices extremely reasonable. Thank you very much.

Had a lovely night out with 27 friends! Warm welcome to a beautifully decorated pub and thoughtfully set out function room. Booking and submitting pre orders had been handled efficiently. Food ready when we wanted it, and all dishes brought out piping hot and at the same time. Lovely food, well presented and good portions.

Visited The Knot on my way home from work what a lovely welcome, it is such a friendly family environment and the decorations are particularly festive, a mulled wine at a reasonable price witb mince pie and a cinnamon stick great attention to detail, well done keep up the good work !

Recently and tastefully refurbished pub in a pleasant, quiet location. The food was good and well presented. Chicken BLT sandwich had freshly cooked chicken not the ready sliced stuff still cold from the fridge that you get at so many places. Helpful staff, real open fires, smart clean loos, dog treats and water bowls available (at the bar, not in the loos!). What else could you need!

Had a great evening meal. Food was very good and prices not silly. Staff were excellent. Apparently the pub is now under new management.

Taken here by my family when visiting Congleton - really first rate experience from atmosphere, service through to excellent food. Staff/owners should be extremely proud as The Knott Inn truly deserves it plaudits and every success coming its way in the future

The Knot Inn has now become our local (even thought it's not our closest pub). The new owners have made it into a most welcome and lovely place. Food really lovely , welcome warm and serving staff really very efficient and pleasant. A real turnaround of a lovely , well located public house . Beer always well kept . Looking forward to taking our various grandkids there next year in warmer weather to take advantage of the absolutely massive grassed area at the back

Always a warm welcome from staff and in winter, the open fires. Not tried the food yet under the new(ish) owners, but the ales are well kept and best of all, they serve Aspalls cider!

We have really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the knot in. The staff and owners are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was to much for them. The pies and roast dinners are a complete winner with our family. We definitely will be returning again. You also were so welcoming to our dog also.

Walked to the knot Inn today with 5ge dogs and my wife from Rudyard. When we got there the staff were very friendly and made us welcome.

One of the nicest I've ever had anywhere in the world, The Knot has had a loving makeover from a family that obviously cares about the building and enhancing the restaurant back to former glories, good luck to Aaron the landlord and chef and his family.

Having spent the last few years in the doldrums, it looks like the Knot maybe back on track. Whilst we only had the steak and ale pie(could have been bigger ?), it was tender, pastry was nice, a decent amount of veg and fantastic chips. Nice to have a side jug of gravy as well, as it caters for everyone's taste.

Stopped here on the off chance. Great home cooked food,Friendly welcome fantastic service in a lovely setting.

The first time we've eaten in the Knot since it's changed hands. A great selection on the menu, very friendly staff and well presented food. We dudnt have long to wait before our meal arrived and everyone enjoyed their meals. If you like desserts the chocolate fudge cake is a must!

New people have really made such a difference. The food we had today was excellent leaving us with the determination to return. Well recommended and a must do situation Delighted back on form.

Have parked are motorhome in the carpark for the night after a pre telephone call, then popped in for dinner. Staff all very welcoming, and food all really very hot and tasty, and main meals around 9.95 great value.
