The best restaurants serving British food in Stowe Lichfield West Midlands

First time here, we had been gifted a voucher and used it for a lunch tasting menu here. It took us ages to get a table - 18 months but well worth the wait! Staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. Menu is varied and excellent produce. I am a vegetarian and my menu was just as exciting as the meat version and I also appreciated that it was slightly cheaper! It was my birthday too and I was given a birthday card which was a nice touch. Cocktails are also stunning. All in all we had an absolutely beautiful meal thank you.

Second visit to this lovely restaurant,went with a party of 6 last night and really can’t fault the place,the guy who runs the place is so friendly and humerus and really can’t do enough for you,the food was superb and considering you’re in the centre of Lichfield the prices are very reasonable,we said we were going to a show and he made sure that we were served within plenty of time.Would highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back in a couple of months when we will be back to Lichfield

My friends and i went for lunch today and all had cheese toasties the bread was the worst for toast they were all rock hard so couldnt eat much of it so wouldn't go back again

Unfortunately I didn't get to try anything at this cafe. My party and another party stood waiting to be sitted, 3 members of staff walked past and said "be with you in a minute" that minute never came, so we all walked out and went next door to the 'Dam good cafe' which was fine.

We had a fantastic evening at the Winehouse, food was amazing and the Staff were fantastic. Lovely place to go, would highly recommend.

Went last Saturday (booked that day). Great surroundings. Staff were exceptional, food and wine great as well. Really recommend.

Visited their stall at Shrewsbury market mid morning. The produce looked lovely & the queue was long so we joined it. We chose, Stilton & walnut focaccia, almond croissant & some sort of raisin bun. The croissant & bun were unbelievably stale & dry, certainly not freshly baked, more like left overs, frozen & then left uncovered to thaw before being bagged ready for resale. Both went in the bin! Unfortunately the focaccia was the same, however, we toasted it & managed to eat that. All in all I found the products well below what is expected & therefore I do not recommend them

called in for lunch and was made very welcome, our granddaughter is vegetarian and they were really helpful at choosing her food which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our meal was lovely. Will be recommending it to our friends.

Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired- would not recommend. The cauliflower cheese was still frozen- when we told this to the staff, we only got an ‘oh no’ comment. Wouldn’t waste your time on a visit.

Totally lacked atmosphere and warmth. There was no background music or even chatter. I could hear a couple in the kitchen discussing a member of staff which was poor and then I’m assuming the poor girl was having a review of her work to date in the cafe with customers all around. The coffee was mediocre and the sandwich was lacking in chicken. Really disappointed and wouldn’t return.

Worst delivery! Drink spilled in bag prior delivery! Food was ruined and no drink. Rubbish for £30!

We visited this pub last night atmosphere at the time was great! But it soon turned quite wrong quite quickly! My friend ended up being assaulted on the dance floor by a bloke! She ended up getting dragged around and thrown to grown by punches from him! The bouncers were nowhere to be seen!! And when they finally arrived they didn’t care of my friends welfare what so ever! Infact they kicked us all out and treated us like criminals when she was the victim of a serious assault! When asking to speak too the manager the manager showed no acknowledgment and didn’t want too even speak too either of us! Nobody showed any care towards my friend! Just threw us out! The bouncers didn’t care when we was trying too tell them of what happened!! Just said you need to leave!! We had to call the police ourselves as this pub didn’t want too!! Why is that?! Absolute shambles ! You should be ashamed of yourselves for not taking the welfare seriously of a young girl! She is now in hospital!!

Felt extremely unwelcome. Lots of staff met eye contact with us but ignored us. Waited to be seated, then told to go through but area was blocked off by a table. Throughout our breakfast staff discussed how they were going lay the area out and tables, seating etc were constantly being moved. If rearranging food area l would expect that to be done outside of serving hours. Whilst food was good we felt as though we shouldn't have been there. Very uncomfortable experience.

Someone at this restaurant really helped me on 18th Feb. Do not know his name but I wasn’t having the best time and they could clearly see that
