Totally lacked atmosphere and warmth. There was no background music or even chatter. I could hear a couple in the kitchen discussing a member of staff which was poor and then I’m assuming the poor girl was having a review of her work to date in the cafe with customers all around. The coffee was mediocre and the sandwich was lacking in chicken. Really disappointed and wouldn’t return.

Always enjoy eating here as the Tuna Mayonnaise sandwiches are beautifully tasty. I would say their sandwiches are the best tasting in Lichfield. Also, the hot chocolate drinks are divine, especially now the weather is getting colder. The staff are friendly too. Thumbs up from a happy customer.

Conveniently, this coffee shop is central and two doors away from the Samuel Johnson Museum. After a long train journey, I was greeted by very friendly staff, who advised me on my choice of toastie and coffee. The ham and cheese toastie and the hot drink recharged my batteries; was kind to my pocket, and got me ready for the four floor museum two doors away. A good choice!

The staff are very friendly is the only good point. The food was not good enough the cheese was tasteless on our toasties and the tea quality was poor. This food quality has dropped significantly from our last visit it seemed cheaper and therefore we will not return.

We have always wanted to try this place, but it is always busy! Has we were passing very early today, we took the opportunity to go in and wasn’t disappointed! Staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We knew what we wanted to drink, and we were offered a tea cake which we wouldn’t have thought about. The cappuccino was very nice and the tea cake was very nice and fresh. I think the prices were reasonable too, the decor and seating were very comfortable. I now know why it is so busy!!!!

We wanted to grab some lunch and noticed this little place that offered food at a reasonable price. Ordered a tuna melt toastie and a chicken tikka toastie and both were served with a salad garnish & 2 cappuccinos. The food and drinks were lovely. A random choice on a wet Saturday brought us here but worth it. We sat in the rear part which is very brightly decorated making it different to your standard chain coffee shop. Not a large amount of cakes on offer but a nice Portuguese tart was on offer along with good coffee. As mentioned by others, cash only.

We had tried this cafe a while ago but were told that it was cash only, so planned to try again later. This we did - today. Ample supplies of cake were visible at the counter, but no scones, or any hint at savoury food. Asking an assistant if savoury food was available, a menu was instantly handed to me. These had not been visible earlier and it immediately became clear that any customer being handed these at the counter would delay things for other customers. Perhaps we should collect these, sit down, then order? That said, there were a good number of sandwiches and toasties available. All reasonably priced. Decaffeinated tea available. We chose cheese and ham toasties, one on white, the other on brown. We did ask if there was a wait for food, told there was not. No worry, no problem. On their arrival, side salad was found and it was delicious. We exchanged one white for brown and both agreed that the brown toasted sandwich was great. The quality of ham inside the sandwich was outstanding. Off the bone, no preservatives in sight. Thank you. But - other customers arriving after us received their toasted sandwiches earlier than we did; we were told that our order had only gone in '10 minutes ago' after we had been seated for 20 minutes... Toilets all as they should be. Loyalty card in place. Clean and tidy - tables cleared smartly after customers' departure. We may visit again for the delicious ham and cheese toastie and be ready for the very homely approach to business held by the friendly staff.

Just off the market square, very convenient. Went at about 1215 on a busy Saturday for a coffee and sandwich. Place was busy but I managed to find a seat, quick service , pleasant staff and the premises are very clean and well lit. One assistant made a special effort to clean my table as I sat down ,she and the other lady were friendly and kept smiling despite all they had to do. Coffee and sandwich were both good and prices were very reasonable. List of snacks and lunches posted outside the cafe, fair range available but I prefer places that do a few meals and do them well, to others that ‘stretch ‘ themselves too far. My first visit, I shall be back 😎

First class from entering to leaving, a lunch stop and a warm drink on a wet cold morning. Looking for a comfy calm environment whilst waiting for our dog who was undergoing surgery at the vets Greeted as soon as we entered the warm room, smell of fresh coffee and lovely food....plenty of space between tables, comfy chairs too. Staff were delightful, attentive, polite and obviously all got on together, it was a welcome change from most chains! Made us feel so special and important as customers, taking us back to where customer service was always paramount. Ordered a couple of toasties, coffee and a hot chocolate. Quick service but not rushed. Accidentally, one of the toasties came without its ham... Golly! They couldn't have been more apologetic, offered to make another straight away, refilled my hot chocolate for free (and boy! The hot chocolate is one of the best I've had) and just couldn't apologise enough We didn't mind at all, we both loved what we had. It was fresh, tasty, hot, dressed side salad and we were so impressed by the whole experience. "This was the best mistake we've ever had!" I said as we left. Ladies, it was an absolute delight and the way you conduct yourselves and your business was so lovely. THANK YOU for treating us with kindness and warmth, for great food and the best Hot Chocolate ever 😘

They claim the best coffee in Lichfield but for me the best coffee I have had in two months in the UK and they do a FLAT WHITE. They also indicate having served over 100,000 coffees so they have the art down very well. For non coffee drinkers I recommend the lemon tea. It is not a dining establishment but rather tea/ coffee and cakes. The coffee is backed by cheery friendly service with lots of local tips if you are interested. Looking for an independent coffee shop in Lichfield I found this lovely cafe right in the centre of the town. My friend and I ordered latte and a flat white. Although the coffee shop is quite small it is very comfortable and offers different seating arrangements. The staff are exceptionally friendly and bring the coffee to your table. We were both very impressed with our lovely coffee. Stayed hot whilst we were chatting. Often I find that coffee from a lot of places goes cold very quickly. We both used the bathroom facility which was very modern and spotlessly.Next time we go back to Lichfield we will certainly use this cafe again and have our coffee with some of the delicious looking cakes. Since we had run out of time and had to return to the car, I cancelled the food order and requested my money back. With barely an apology, I was returned the exact £8.75 for the missing sandwiches. This is an extremely pleasant space to have a reviving coffee, a mid morning recharge, light lunch or afternoon break.Do not be put off from what appears to be the size of the establishment from the outside. There is seating at the front of the coffee house, then a serving counter and then at the rear a lovely lounge area. In the lounge area you'll find comfy seating and coffee tables. It is what it says on the label, primarily a coffee house but serves teas and other soft drinks. Along with these go snacks, light lunches and afternoon teas(homemade cakes). Everything is well presented and from what I've tried tasty with it. This is not a fast food establishment, salads, sandwiches, baguettes etc will be made to order. You can linger over your coffee a while whilst having a look at the days papers that are available or connecting to the free wi-fi!They have high chairs for those of you with small children, though there isn't a lot of space for prams and buggies. Unfortunately because of the height of the shop floor(much of the area has listed buildings), there are a few steps at the entrance, so for wheelchairs it is inaccessible. It definitely makes a change from all the "chain" coffee establishments.

Visiting with my daughter Jo, grandson Arthur, and my son James, we enjoyed a memorable Sunday meal that exceeded all our expectations. The star of our visit was Amanda, our attentive waitress, whose warm and friendly approach made the evening even more special. Her attention to detail and welcoming smile added such a personal touch to our dining experience. The Sunday roast was simply superb—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We have been here so many times and it is excellent every time. We were lucky enough to dine here twice this month as we had relatives here from Devon, followed by friends from New Zealand. Delicious home cooked food and plentiful portions as always. I can personally recommend the whitebait and prawn cocktail starters. If you like game - the pheasant is wonderful, as is the partridge. Fillet steak was amazing, I don’t think anyone could be disappointed whatever dish they choose!

Expensive pub prices for very basic freezer food. No atmosphere. No steaks available they had run out. Wouldn’t recommend. Customer service not the best. Menu was covered in food and sticky.

I don't write many reviews, but I just want to say what a great pub & friendly staff - we were there for a 25th birthday party on a very busy Saturday night with a superb live band - our children are all now grown up mid 20's but have various special needs. It was really nice to to see how they could just enjoy a good night out and also the friendliness vibe overall of other people in there. Thank you for a good night & it's a really impressive old building too with loads of character.

Popped in for a quick lunch, to see the pub was closing for a refurbishment. How exciting. The team, although very busy in their preparations, were amazing. The manager Lily, was the light at the end of or tunnel.
