We’ve been a frequent visitor to the Lichfield Pom’s for a while and still enjoyed our most recent visit. Food quality is good, staff are friendly but I would agree with some of the other reviews regarding portion size, value for money etc. I also appreciate the restaurants response to some of this feedback and know how tough it is for small independent hospitality venues so accept that when I book and dine with them. For me the quality of the food and the service, plus the location (same with the Barton venue) means I will continue to support them by visiting when I can and would encourage others too as well, it really is a lovely spot.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now but early this week will be the last time. The food has gone down hill and the prices are ridiculous. The “Poms Breakfast” is £18 if you add black pudding and it doesn’t even come with bread / toast. When I asked the waitress she said it’s an extra charge or you can remove an item and replace it with toast… it was unbelievable. Then when the breakfast came it was tiny and had only 1 sausage and 1 very dry piece of bacon. I’ve never felt so ripped off for breakfast. They even tried to add a 10% service charge to the bill which I made them remove out of principle. Honestly, save your money and go somewhere else. There’s loads of better places to eat breakfast in Lichfield

I love it here but it is incredibly over priced. This is what we got but was a staggering £44.80 without service charge. Breakfast came with no bread which is fine if the price reflected it, made the avocado are bit useless. I’m not a stranger to coffee shops/cafes but the price does not reflect the food or portion. Drink were around £5-6 with milk changes which is crazy, that’s a decent meal in some places. It’s a shame but I probably won’t dine here after going for a while, due to the price increases. However, it is Lovely place, people and atmospheres

Third time I’ve been here. First time great 5* second also. 3rd. Quality has gone down hill food drinks all of it. Price. The same. Although meat loaf says 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. It is when the breakfast is £15.50

If I could leave 1000 positive reviews for Poms I definitely would. One of our favourite places to have breakfast/lunch/brunch. Staff is always attentive and friendly and the food is just amazing. They also accommodate any changes you may want in your food (if they can). Whenever someone comes to visit us in Lichfield we make sure to take them to Poms!

I’ve walked past Poms a few times and it looked very inviting so we’ve decided to book ourselves in for breakfast for the first time. The atmosphere was great - from the decorations to staff, everything was very pleasant. Coffee was lovely and the latte art was beautiful! I’ve ordered a vegan PB breakfast and my partner had a normal version of the same. It was quite surprising that it doesn’t come with any sort of bread! The position size was also quite small for the price (see photos).

It pains me to write this review but our favourite breakfast cafe Poms is not what it once was unfortunately. Me and my partner have long been big fans of Poms, along with many of our friends who have visited following our recommendations, but unfortunately the quality and attention to detail has dropped and no longer justifies their premium pricing. To give some examples, some of the classic Poms menu items that made it unique such as the Mexican Hash, Crab and Crayfish Benedict, Turkish Eggs, and Shakshuka have vanished, replaced with a more mainstream menu. The potato tots have also disappeared. Poms’ USP was always as a breakfast/brunch cafe with unique menu items so a move to a more generic menu is a shame. The Poms Breakfast I had last visit was poorer than the breakfasts I have had historically, with a dry sausage in a ring shape (the breakfast had high quality normal shaped sausages previously), fatty hard bacon, and dry black pudding (at a cost of £2.50 extra). Perhaps a one off but the food was always perfect previously. The other disappointment linking into my point about Poms being unique originally was the downgrade of the sauces (they were originally Hawkshead Relish Company sauces). For example no fruity brown sauce is available anymore, just standard HP or Heinz Ketchup. Fine in a Wetherspoons but an exercise in cheapening which is unnecessary and a real shame. I hope Poms take this as constructive criticism as customers who used to visit regularly, as we would be willing to give it another chance if so.

It’s disappointing that I feel the necessity to write this review. I have been going to POMS for several years, frequently with my family and friends for casual and birthday events. The quality of the food and service has been excellent, the reason we went there. However, more recently they have increased the prices and at the same time reduced the portion sizes and removed items, that were once included, from the brunch dishes. They also have a habit of asking you when you are ordering a breakfast if you want toast, or for example, black pudding. What they don’t tell you is that they add the cost onto the meal! If you are paying £15 plus for a breakfast you should not have to pay extra for a slice of toast! Also, why do they have to charge an extra 50p, on top of the price, for a decaffinated coffee! In summary, overpriced, money grabbing at every opportunity, the irony is that I can afford to pay the prices, but it is the principal and I don’t like getting ripped off! Won’t be going back.

I used to love coming to Poms, we would drive up from Birmingham every few months for brunch! My last visit however was quite disappointing, I had my usual, the breakfast and I wasn’t sure if they had mistakenly given me a child’s breakfast (they hadn’t, as was clarified when the bill came out) the portion sizes have drastically reduced but the price hasn’t to reflect this, my other half had French toast (her usual) and she too remarked that the portion size was a lot smaller than our last visit! It’s worth noting that the food itself was delicious! Nearly £16 for one slice of bacon, one sausage, one tiny mushroom and tomato, about 10 cubed potato’s, the biggest portion on the plate was the beans! I don’t know why you’ve removed the muffin you used to give and halved everything else, but a disappointing visit and I certainly will not be rushing back

Nice place, good food, quick service, strong coffee. Not a fan of the ‘voluntary’ service charge they add on automatically and then you need to specifically ask to remove it. I’d rather not be guilt-tripped while I’m out for brunch. This isn’t America.

Great food and wonderful service, have to say did seem the staff were overwhelmed at times. Regardless service remained excellent.

Fantastic service by Sheree. Extremely joyful and welcoming. She was attentative and had excellent knowledge of the menu and welcomed our choices. We had never been before but so glad we decided to visit. Food was tasty and well presented. Myself and my partner will definately be back again.

Well what a little gem. While visiting the cathedral in Lichfield, we popped to town for some lunch, We stopped at this delightful little cafe/bar. We were greeted by Sheree the waitress, Sheree has a lovely warm welcoming personality with a great sense of humour. She took our order and made us feel very welcome. The food was fresh and well presented and reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this Cafe/bar not just the food, but good old fashioned hospitality and customer service. 10/10 😊

Went for Father’s Day brunch with my two boys .First time we’ve been in here for a while and the reduced portion size on the breakfast was evident .Quality of the breakfast was ok apart from the bacon which was over cooked and hard ,when you’re spending £15.00 on a brekki you expect it to be good . There was also no pancakes on the main menu only as a child’s portion . The tea was also poor even after steeping the bag for a long time ,a good quality tea bag should be a minimum when spending a small fortune on a breakfast . I also think adding the service charge to the total then telling the customer it’s optional is not on ,you put the customer in an awkward position ,I always tip if the overall experience is good . On the plus side The service was great ,very friendly bunch and the restaurant decor is lovely .

We had a great time this morning having brunch at Poms, the new menu is great, lots of choice and Sherri our waitress was absolutely fantastic, couldn't ask for better service.

Definitely the best atmosphere in Lichfield for a spot of brunch. Lovely staff always happy to help. The breakfast was great quality and well cooked, the only let down was the weak tea, we had to ask for 2 extra tea bags) which was happily sorted for us, but it didn’t really make any difference-I’d advise going for the coffee if you’re looking for a hot drink. We’ll definitely be back to try their lunches

Easy to locate, with a handy carpark around back. Super friendly and helpful staff, they were very accommodating. The food and drink choices were all great, I was spoilt for choice! I ended up having an iced coffee, brunch and then a hot coffee. The meals are very flavourful and a very good size. I personally opted for the duck flatbread which was insanely delicious. I noticed they sold a range of dog food & treats so I bought some to take home for my pooch who absolutely enjoyed them! I will 100% visit again.

Great place my favourite in Lichfield by far. They've just had a rebrand and it looks great. Can't wait to go back.

Sheree stands out as a lovely member of staff here.Extremely welcoming and professional and so refreshing to see someone taking a pride in customer service. She was lovely to our dog too and brought him water and a special dog menu. Will always come here when in Lichfield and will always recommend.

Lovely experience at Poms when I took my mum for a birthday brunch - Sherie our waitress was very attentive and treated mum to a glass of Prosecco on the house, a lovely touch. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend :)

What a fabulous brunch we had today! We shared two dishes - The Croque Madam was sublime - excellent quality bread, great cheese and proper ham with a fabulous Smokey mustard sauce ( I’m buying a jar on our next visit) - then the lemon meringue French toast was a light as air, very lemony and just perfect

I've frequented Pom's for many years. The food is always of a high standard and everything is as locally sourced as possible. The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful and the waiting staff are extremely good. However, as others have mentioned, there's the issue of a service charge (AKA tip). I have NO problem whatsoever in tipping for exceptional service. But not when someone is carrying out their normal duties, Unfortunately customers are asked within earshot of other diners if you want to keep the service charge or for them to remove it. Today for instance, not one person asked for it to be removed except me that is! Yes we know this is standard these days but most establishments give you the option of declining our accepting via the keypad on the mobile device (discretely). I love Poms but surely this could be asked in a more discrete manner?

Popped in to have a coffee with a friend. Shown to a table but unfortunately it was right under a speaker and the music was a little too loud for us to chat. When gentleman came to take order we asked if we could move to another table which we did which was slightly quieter.

Best ice-cream experience in Lichfield. Very classy dining experience. Very friendly staff. Great bar and cocktails. Wonderful atmosphere.

I love Poms. We had a family meal of 12 on Saturday and every single persons meal was spot on. A few cocktails and food later and leaving extremely happy. Thank you for fitting us all in at short notice. 5* service 5* food and 5* company.

Turkish eggs with sour dough, lets start again, normally the place is full. Reservation is needed to even sit down outside. It must take 1 mill a year business. The food is fresh by the chef who must work hard, as its not out of a can. Amazing hour. Oh yeah, coffee to wake up the dead. Another visit, moving my rating to 5 stars, because it's worth it. There is an entry we tried, can you find it?

Lovely lunch - had the duck salad and chips and my son had a sausage muffin. Great now dogs are allowed too! Nice tea/coffee/cakes and staff are really friendly. Will return. Advise to book as can get busy especially at the weekend.

Went today as it had been recommended by friends. Lovely food, my sweet potato falafel on flatbread was fabulous. I love trying something new to me The service was first class. As a casual walk-in it took me by surprise to see and hear such a busy, vibrant place. Luckily we were allocated a table where it was brilliant to be in the midst of such a thriving business. Clearly the staff work really hard and together as a team resulting in the two lovely brunches we were served, from a well considered and varied menu of locally sourced produce. I love everything about this place and thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Lichfield. Top marks.

First impression was how warm and inviting this venue was. Everywhere lovely and clean. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Great selection on the menu of both food and drinks. Food was served quickly especially considering how busy they were. Best of all the food was absolutely delicious, we both chose the flatbreads which were gorgeous and very substantial. Thank you.

Lovely setting and the food was delicious. Really lovely touches with the decor and the plates, glasses, cups and teapots were fab. Our dog, who is very much a dog about town, loved the doggie menu and thought it was the best restaurant he’s ever been to.

I went to Poms on Saturday for brunch with two friends. Food was good (not great - poached eggs overcooked sadly!) . However, kerching! £34 for my breakfast!!! (Ok, did have a couple of glasses of Prosecco!) but felt they rushed us, felt like a sausage factory. Asked us to order quickly as they had other tables to serve, then atthe end they pressured us to “pay and puss off!” basically. If I wanted fast food I’d go to McDonald’s for 1/3 of the price. Worst of all, the place is dog-friendly - INDOORS!! They seated me next to a very hairy, dribbly dog!! When they asked about allergies it was a little too late! I told them animal hair but spent the whole day nasal, eyes streaming and uncomfortable 😢 I won’t return because the food was mediocre, service rushed and impersonal, overpriced, too many dogs, tables squished in. Decor is nice however

Lovely food & great service. The lovely waitress greeted us with a smile & had our table waiting even though we arrived early. Our friend arrived late but that was no problem & we were able to keep the table beyond the booking time. Will definitely be back.

Popped in for breakfast with my sister, sister-in-law and our children for brunch. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, especially with our little ones. Food was incredible!! Highly recommend the Mexican Hash! We will be back.

Great spot for a cuppa and an ice cream or sandwhich. We have visited a couple of times. The service is good and there are blankets you can borrow when sitting outside. The dog really appreciated her pot of sausages!

Unfortunately fen though I love Poms atmosphere and staff enthusiasm their tea is so awful, weak and lacking any taste. I really would have thought a change in supplier was necessary. Staples like muffins are off the menu on days when the bakery is closed...

Visited Poms for the first time today but it won’t be the last,my son took me for my birthday and Helen who served us made it really special,she went above and beyond herself to make the visit such an enjoyable one. The food was amazing and all four of us ate everything.

Wow what can I say this place is amazing. The food is great and a great range of options on the menu. The hot chocolates are amazing and do not compare to anywhere else. I will be returning here.

Came for a late lunch on new years eve, restaurant is small and a bit cramped but the service is fast efficent and friendly, the food is very good though a tad expensive, I think I would come again.

Booked a table for a birthday brunch and was really glad I did. It's always a good sign when a place is packed on arrival, especially in the morning! We were seated promptly, and had drinks (Nutella latte and a normal latte) served shortly after....

Visited today for brunch with my friend. I ordered the eggs, mushroom & spinach. When I explained that I didn't want the toast, the waitress asked if I'd like something else instead, which I really appreciated. Very friendly staff, delicious food & a lovely atmosphere.

£3.20 isn’t cheap for a small pot of tea, but the teabag was so weak, it was actually difficult to get one decent strength cuppa, out of it! Really not good enough

Highly recommend eating at Pom´s when you are on a special diet (like coeliacs, gluten free and low fodmap in my case). Sheree was a lovely, understanding host who thought with me about what I could eat (instead of all I cannot) and tailored the menu to my wishes. All dishes involving bread can be made gluten free and there's no cross contamination, which is great! I and my sister felt so welcome and not a bother at all (as sometimes happens at other places). The food is fresh, delicious and made with pure good quality ingredients. Sheree is such a warm and welcoming host. Highly recommend!

This spot is great for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon tea. My sister had a really delicious cinnamon swirl. I have a difficult diet (coeliacs, gluten free, low fodmap) and the host, Sheree, was so understanding! All bread based dishes can be made gluten free...

Probably my favourite restaurant in Lichfield. The vibe is always agreeable, the staff are always friendly, and the menu is always unique and inspiring. That is probably the most impressive part of this restaurant that sets it apart; the menu is constantly changing, and it is evident that the chefs are always pushing themselves to craft simply exquisite menu items that work very well. Every time I've been here, the menu has changed - sometimes entirely. The constant evolution is something that I will always respect about Pom's - especially at such reasonable prices.

Fabulous place. I'm from Derby and have been numerous times. Always busy, so book! The food is great, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic Monday morning breakfast to start the day with such attention to detail and great service. Kept us going until tea time, Ham Bennie was amazing.

A good range of choices on the menu, with good Gluten free options. Nice coffee. Not the speediest service, but cooked to order. Not a cheap lunch, with meals coming in the £13-£15 range. The cheese toastie particularly poor value with much more onion jam...

Came in for breakfast this morning and was promptly sat down in front of the cosy window display by the lady in charge. The food was lovely - we had the avocado smash and the House breakfast - and the coffees were also really nice....
