Ollie was a great server as were the others checking in to see how we were, how the food was and if we needed anything else. The food was delicious as always!

Had a great meal. Our waitress, Issy, was very attentive, polite and engaging. It was a great atmosphere and by the time we left it was really buzzing!

My wife and I found La Madeleine whilst having a wander around Herford. The place is an unassuming bistro on Church Street that served a very pleasant lunch, we went for the homemade quiche that came with salad and herbie potatoes, which proved to be very tasty. The service was polite, efficient and friendly. The establishment has a wonderful courtyard garden. All in all a great place to eat when visiting Hereford.

Called in for lunch with my husband and staffie Ollie. Lovely friendly cafe. We both had a jacket potato which were well cooked Our coffees were pipping hot and finished off with one of their home made cakes which was to die for. Would definitely recommend

So old school it’s unbelievable but really took me back to my youth! Breakfast of champs! Couldn’t fault it but don’t forget it’s cash only or you’ll miss out on one of the best breakfasts in Hereford!

I ordered a pork roll with apple sauce and crackling. The crackling was a tiny square and the apple sauce was merely a smear. I ordered a latte and my wife ordered an Americano, I forgot which was which so tasted each and couldn't tell the difference. We both left our coffees and went to Coffee #1 for a decent cuppa. Shame

Met for a business meeting. Great service and lovely food.

Very busy place to go queue to get in, when its late it's one out one in, the live bands are really reallly so we'll worth a visit and it's free to enter

The place is fabulous and now the sad bit. I've only just heard you are closing. The two of the most popular venues in Hereford the other is The Starting Gate. I hope you will be offered other jobs. Fantastic overall experience. Well presented pub with a fantastic atmosphere and great food! The majority of the food was handmade and it all tasted delicious. Very high quality food and large portions. We were encouraged to customise the food we ordered which is a big help to those who have specific dietary requirements. The member of staff that greeted us upon entering the Black Lion was very friendly and created a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back soon! Thank you!

I judge a fry up on the quality of the sausage on the plate and the breakfasting experience on the coffee. I was not overwhelmed. Instead I was somewhere between underwhelmed and whelmed.

We’d gone to the cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi. Dating to about 1300, it’s the oldest surviving map of the world, as then known. And not just of geographical significance but, placing Jerusalem at the centre, of religious significance as well. The cafe is located just outside the room where the map is located and explained. It was lunchtime so, having fed the soul, it was time to feed the body. No hot food but a variety of “stuff with salads”. So that was a ham, pea and feta frittata and a cherry tomato and black olive quiche. Both very tasty and served with spoonfuls of each of the salads – mixed leaves, grated celeriac, cucumber, pasta, tomato and cous cous.

Lovely place, clean with fire pits outside and it was dog friendly 😌 my only issues were, the service was incredibly slow behind the bar, they were talking to eachother but ignoring customers and there are no mens toilets, just 1 Unisex one, which meant an awkward queue downstairs.

Only had a drink so can't say how good the food is, friendly service but seriously need to get rid of all the plastic flowers and put the hoover away please. Behind the bar a little messy and a few small DIY jobs could really improve the overall atmosphere.

Ordered kebabs just after 6:30 to be delivered for 7:45. Well it got to 8:15 so rang to see where food was to be told it was ready but waiting for delivery drivers to turn up. Food finally turns up at 9:05 food wasn’t even what we ordered and was cold. The meat was chewy and dry we ordered chicken and lamb and one of them was all chicken apart from one piece of lamb. The chips were cold to the point it was like eating cardboard. Complete waste of time and money.
