fabulous place to go, tea, cake and breakfast were great, staff were friendly and service was good

Have heard of De Koffie Pot for a few years but never stopped by until now, luckily we stopped there on a bright and sunny October day to enjoy some lunch and a pint! Excellent vibes, nice staff, great food and all reasonably priced. There are outdoor flame pits and a tented area so you can sit out on a bright cold day enjoying the location on the edge of the River Wye. Looking forward to my next visit!

Last week I was in Hereford (UK) at restaurant ‘De Koffiepot’. Although the name sounds Dutch there was no connection with the Netherlands. The coffee was not bad for English standards.

We have visited Die Koffie Pot several times in recent years as we pass through Hereford. We like it. Decent food, Wye Valley beer, interesting music, polite staff, great location, nice indoor and outdoor areas right by the river and the prices are OK too. We will definitely visit again. A refreshing change from the usual chain pubs and restaurants.

Went for breakfast, full English. It was amazing. Very good value for money. Presentation of the food was very eye catching, coffee was excellent. Staff very friendly. Our dog was very happy he got a doggie treat. Thank you. Will definitely come and see you again.

Beautiful venue, in a beautiful setting, and food is amazing, we were there for a staff do saw an amazing band called "wired" hope they have them back soon it was a great night

Nice place next to the river, reasonably priced. HOWEVER, I had fish cakes, they were more potatoe croquettes , my wife had pizza with fresh basil, HOWEVER, no basil , when she asked for a sprinkle of Parmesan, she was told to go to the bar to pay £1 first !! I said that’s mean considering the promised toppings were missing, the waitress said I know, and walked off. !! The pizza was disappointing, loaded with too much oregano . Wouldn’t visit again . Sorry

The setting is lovely and the outside always seems busy. My mum & I went for food on a Sunday, we ordered a burger and were told it doesn't come with chips so ordered separately. We originally thought the pricing was cheap, it turns out to have a meal you need to buy everything separately- burger comes with no salad or any condiments just a burger and the same with the chips. It was average and bit of a shame, it won't be a place we rush back to. The staff are polite and courteous, another thing to note is they do not accept cash payments at all, only card payments or through an app which wasn't working at the time of our visit.

Our first time in Hereford, my wife and I found it quite hard to find a decent spot to hunker down away from the rain and work from with decent coffee, WiFi and food. After 3 failed attempts at different coffee places in Hereford, we found De Koffie Pot. It is hands down the best place to be with friendly staff, lovely food and great atmosphere. 100% will be coming back here again and again when in the area.

My husband and I were staying in Hereford temporarily and needed a cafe to work from. The staff, food and coffee are amazing. The prices are the best around and the quality is high. Their iced lattes are silky and balanced and the crispy chicken burger was hot, juicy and delish. Our favourite part of the experience was the staff, especially (not sure of his name) the lad with the long hair and beard who was so friendly, patient and accommodating even when the app was acting up. The man deserves a raise! Would recommend 10/10

Passing through Hereford, open on a Sunday evening 👍 simple but fresh cuisine, sheltered and heated outdoor terrace, musical atmosphere, very nice discovery.

After a dog walk around the river meander, this is a great place for a coffee, beer or pizza.

My husband and I have been coming here for many years and it is our favourite place in Hereford. Great venue, always buzzy, good service and great value for money. Highly recommend.

Excellent coffee and location AND no extra charge for oat milk!

After waiting 30 minutes on a Sunday morning and seeing the food service people running around doing a fantastic job they were severely let down by the bar staff who ignored the waiter serving our food and their requests to sort out our drinks which still hadn't arrived despite the food arriving and being eaten. They blamed it on the ticketing system which contained the whole order. The bar staff then continued to flirt with each other and ignore us and then never apologised. Very badly run, which is such a shame for a lovely looking venue.

Great concept (Dutch Cafe), Fantastic (riverside) location, BUT it fails to deliver on so many levels. i.e. Little or no Dutch food or drink, - a HUGE omission. The waiting staff looked like they were there serving a sentence rather than the Customers. There were various options to order, but when I attempted to order from my phone, I had to load an app taking time and using my data (I didnt see any WiFi available).

'Hidden gem' - large bar/restaurant overlooking the river Wye. Loads of seating, including outdoors. Basic menu, but food is great, and includes loads of vegetarian and vegan options. There is also the option to order via their app. Would give 5 stars but food service can be very slow - waited over 50 minutes last time we were there - but tasted great and freshly cooked. Would recommend.

Fabulous place! Attentive staff and great food! The value of the meals was excellent! We had steak and chicken burger. The steak was perfect! Such a great find!

Terribly disappointed, 32 caravans on Hereford Boating club advised to vist as previously we had enjoyed the previous visit to Hereford, 8 meals ordered but for reasons unknown we received 7 out of 8 before the kitchen called time and were unable to complete our order, I was offered a refund butno staff / supervisors on site trained on the till to credit my card. So dissapointing having recommended so many on site at HRC to come to this venue Please be aware Card only = no credit / refund 😔

Amazing views of the river and calm atmosphere. Had a tasty hot chocolate and a lovely catch up with friends. Dog friendly cafe.

Called by as the its a great riverside location and the menu looked inviting and amazing value. There were pub classics at around £8! What we were served didn't even reach food at that price point! Ordering was only by App, and the drinks quickly arrived. However despite there only being a few customers about on a quiet Tuesday evening our food didn't appear until we made an enquiry after 30'. Apologies were made for missing the order, and some complimentary drinks were arranged. Food eventually arrived; the Wye Valley Brewery Beer Battered Fish & Chips was small and definitely not beer battered! The Ceasar Salad was served with dried out breaded chicken and a heap of unpleasant croutons! Great location with cheap, unpleasant food!

The koffie Pot was very busy because of the Euros football. I had booked a table inside but was on a time frame due to a visit to the theatre later. We managed to explain this to a member of staff called James. He was utterly amazing, he explained our situation to the kitchen and our food and drink arrived quickly and with a smile. Die Koffie pot should be immensely proud to have staff like James who went above and beyond to assist us.We will definitely return.

Beautiful location, however the overall ambiance lacking. Drinks expensive, the food was close to the fast food outlet standard. To be fair we didn't eat there. The outside sound system was loud and of low quality. Sadly disappointed, clearly the ambience doesn't meet the potential that with a little more thought could easily be achieved.

We went this evening to celebrate a couple of birthdays, we were a table of ten. The food and service couldn't have been better. We took two birthday cakes and the staff kindly brought them out, candles lit and singing. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We were asked if we would rather sit in or outside. Our table was cleared promptly, food was quick and all together and the staff were super friendly - sorry I didn't get any names. Thanks for an amazing time, we will be back.

The QR system is rubbish, order 2 beer and 2 portion of chips(comparing the price and the size of the portion is disaster), the chips arrive after 15 minutes, and after half an hour still no drinks, when I went to the bar to ask what's happening whit them, they even didn't know about the order.

What a venue! Lovely setting along the river and brilliant value for money. Not a single complaint. The atmosphere in the evenings is chilled. They have several gas fire pits dotted around outside which are great in the evenings. Either order on the app which is easy. (Each table has a QR code you scan) or order inside. Friendly staff and great food like i said before great value for money. We went for an evening and had some food. Great selection on the menu. We also came back for breakfast the following day. If you’re in the area I’d definitely recommend visiting.

I must state my views on this place and also stand up for the young people who work there. This is very popular venue on a lovely riverside location hence it gets overwhelmingly busy. There are many young staff who work here, some of which is their first job. They spend long periods on their feet running round trying to meet the demands of the customer, often in hot and high pressured conditions. On many occasions shifts are understaffed probably due to recruitment and retention issues which are often a problem for many businesses. Staff members get treated and spoken to appallingly on many occasions by customers, I am not surprised they look unhappy. The venue is a victim of its own success and popularity. We have visited many times being local and at non peak times, the staff are helpful and engaging and the service is great. This place has been open for many years and will continue to be successful. Spare a thought for the young human beings who work there during the busy periods.

This was absolutely perfect when we (and the dog) arrived in the town centre. A great setting to chill out and relax with 1st class food. A top venue!

Too slow too get what you want

Really great place for a drink and a meal we went for lunch and had dirty fries and texmex fries was really nice and filling and tasty we had Rasberry Cider as well was refreshing and was a nice pint overall.great place bet the night life is good here great atmosphere too

Amazing upbeat atmosphere here. Beautiful location next to the river. It was incredibly busy, but the place is huge, so it doesn't feel overwhelming. Lovely outdoor seating , providing cover on a rainy day. Staff, very friendly , professional, and had time even though they were rushed off their feet. Very good price for the food and portion size was good. I can't rate this place high enough.

Handily situated near Hereford cathedral. The coffee and muffins were good, but the service was indifferent.

Amazing riverside location with lots of outdoor seating (where white canopy is shown on photo). They often have live music which can be a little loud but creates a lovely atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely coffee & cake selection and a bar available. Inside is cosy looking and food choice appears good so will be returning to try something from the main menu. Toilets nice & clean & staff always very friendly.

By the river, huge outdoor space. Menu is very cheap, £8 (2024) for mains. Maybe not the best food but can't grumble at price. Good atmosphere, gets really busy when the sun's out!

A party of 27 of us pre ordered food, they were emailed a speed sheet with every meal on. Most food turned up within a 30 minute slot, it was reasonably cooked. It's a shame we are still waiting for the party organisers food to arrive. We thought there was hope when some of the errant food arrived for others who had been left out. But alas no the party organiser went without. This is my second time to try the Left Bank or whatever they want to call themselves this month. It will certainly be the last, never again will I darken their doorstep.

Ordered 3 meals, two delivered and last one came when others had finished with sous chef cheerfully saying he was distracted , no apology or anything other than full of his own importance, so rude and unprofessional

Great food, amazing location & atmosphere. Totally let down by hit-and-miss drinks & abysmal service. Cannot fault anything to do with the locale - you can't do much better than being sat overlooking the Wye. All very nicely decorated with plenty of gas fire pits available to warm you up on a not-so-summery evening. Food as well is great. Whether you're having an à la carte snack or something more substantial, you can tell that quality food is something that they take very seriously. However, drinks leave something to be desired. At this price point, you expect all cocktails (or at least the classics) to taste right. In reality, it's a bit of a mixed bag - with watery Cosmopolitans and bitter Margaritas. On the whole, the cocktails are decent, but they don't hold a candle to the neighbouring business The Tipsy Kat. When it comes to service, the whole thing becomes a bit of a joke. Whether you're ordering coffee and snacks on a Friday midday or a small number of cocktails on a Saturday night, the time to complete any sort of order is excruciatingly slow to the point of madness. It seemingly doesn't make any difference if you order from the counter or via their mobile web app - a nice touch which makes group orders much easier, by the way. It also doesn't have much rhyme or reason - for instance when we visited recently, our party ordered from their selection of loaded fries (very tasty, I might add). However, all but one of the portions were sent out together, with the final portion being sent out a full 30 minutes later. The waiter's explanation was that they were "distracted" (whatever that means - perhaps they saw a squirrel) and, while apologetic, they seemed to think that was otherwise acceptable. This could easily be my favourite spot in Hereford if they reviewed the quality of the cocktails and (crucially) sorted out the absolute state of their service. Would still recommend a visit to anyone, but be ready for a wait.

Lovely vegetarian and vegan selection. Very tasty. Slight hiccup on order quickly rectified. Enjoyed visit.

Unique venue, has fire pits to help warm the cooler nights, good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Bar staff are great and accomdating service with a smile. De Koffee Pot, Chef Henry cooks amazing the most amazing steaks. Highly recommend to any one who would come here, solo, with family, etc. A great meal out

Visited a few times now, first time was probably the best time. Food is great value for money and very tasty and fresh apart from the pizza's, couldn't even get my knife through the base of it and just not nice, would be better off buying frozen pizzas rather than them bought in bases. The food service is very slow, over an hour when the place is not even half full so dread the thought of waiting on food when it is full. De Kofie Pot is both child friendly and dog friendly, they even bring out a bowl of water for your dog which is a nice touch and doggy definitely appreciated this. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the seating areas/scenery is lovely! Would return but not when I'm stuck for time and would definitely steer clear of the pizza 🤣

The best description I can offer for the staff is headless chickens. I ordered three drinks, and it took thirty minutes for someone to bring them. A family member ordered their drinks after me, but they arrived before mine. Another family member ordered three drinks at the same time, and they arrived fifty minutes later. We questioned the server, who said that we were lucky to get the drinks! The food arrived in dribs and drabs; they served the chilli but then served the fries at a different table. We had ordered both items, so why would they do that? The app has an option for the delivery of your order. 1) Twenty-thirty minutes 2) No hurry My interpretation is that they have two speeds; slow and stopped! The management is non-existent and the owner needs to take a hard look at their lack of communication, training and service. We won't return, and unless you are happy to wait for an inordinate amount of time then I advise you to go elsewhere.

Visited on a quiet afternoon and ordered drinks via the app. Waited 25 minutes and chased but it was clear that the bar staff were clueless. Eventually drinks were delivered but staff didn’t have a clue of the numbers of the tables. This is not the 1st time this has happened. Lovely location but the service is non existent and embarrassing. Why offer to order by the app when you don’t take any notice of it. Won’t be visiting again.

Shocking service. Waited so long that we walked out . Two ladies serving, one doing nothing , the other , so very slow. You are missing g so much trade. Even the app bar had no one there. Avoid.

What a beautiful location and the outside really enticed us in. But unfortunately that’s where the good reviews stop. There were too many staff on all getting in each others way. They didn’t know which drink was which and told the server to guess. They had no idea what the cakes were and the hot chocolate was a disaster. The t says order online for cheaper drinks which is great but they don’t update their cake menu meaning we had to go to the till. Sadly I won’t be returning.

Food is ok and cheap relative to nearby places. Service is poor. 5 people behind bar but no one wants to serve. Turns out the process is to order using the qr code and then they deliver. A shame that they can’t speak to you at the bar. The venue is great I prefer the outdoors seating. There’s no apparent management which would help I think.

Food very good value for money and freshly prepared. Staff very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately whilst visiting my relative became very unwell and staff could not do enough to assist us. Thank you to all concerned, Father in-law now at home doing well. Would definitely visit again and in warmer weather take advantage of the outside seating areas next to the river. Lovely atmosphere.

Passing through Hereford, we needed somewhere for a quick bite. The name made this place intriguing so we gave it a go. As said before it was a quirky place with loads of dried grasses in the main seated area. Food was quick and delicious. Really good quality. Don’t want to sit inside? Loads of covered seating outside with various fire pits to sit around. Being covered also made it totally accessible in the rain. Cracking meal and good value. Give it a go.

Bit of an oddball place. Not particularly comfortable inside but food more than acceptable for the price. It seems like we've rated it as poor really but it's a quirky place and we enjoy it. Been several times.

Went at 9.30am on a Sunday morning. VERY LOUD MUSIC everywhere in what looked like a nice setting. We turned round and found somewhere else. Be warned.

Visited on a busy Saturday, ordered 3 meals including a chicken and bacon Caesar salad, however the person at the till put in my order as a burger in error. When my meal eventually arrived there was no dressing, as I would have expected Caesar salad dressing with the meal. I requested the dressing from the waiter and it arrived shortly thereafter. She also offered me a dessert on the house for the inconvenience. The whole experience was still good. The food tasted nice, good price for such big portions and the ambience was warm and spacious. As the ground floor tables were almost all filled, they suggested the first floor seating where there are views of the river Wye. This was our 2nd visit here but will visit again!

Great riverside venue with lots of covered and uncovered seating. We went for a full day English breakfast (they cater for Vegetarians and Vegans too). They do live music in the evenings and a great selection of food and beer.

Food always well cooked and presented. We were able to speak to the chef about special diet for one of our party. Staff always helpful and friendly. It was a quiet Monday lunch time sat outside around a warm fire pit.

Lovely location, right by the river. Relaxed vibe, with an acoustic guitarist playing. Lovely place for a drink. Unfortunately our experience was ruined by an hour wait for fish and chips and gammon. The food has obviously been left for a while as the egg was dried up and solid. The replacement was little better, the batter on the fish was soggy. Potentially lovely time out was ruined by bad food and poor service. The staff did apologize, but was too late. Sorry for the 2 stars, but they could achieve so much better.

Went for a brunch on Sunday, arriving at 10.20am. Only a few people seated. Ordered two full English breakfasts and an Eggs Benedict. Took over 40 minutes for two cold breakfasts to appear and as this review is being written, no Eggs Benedict has appeared. We have finished eating and our friend still has no food. Staff are glacial and in a trance, dirty crockery lying about and has been there for nearly over an hour. Won’t be going again…….. plenty more places in Hereford for a nice quick, warm brunch.

Booked table for 7 got there waited 45 minutes for 1 persons food to come out. Muffin was barely toasted and egg was still raw and order was wrong as ordered avocado on toast. Then told another 10 minuted later they had no bread and we could have a muffin instead with our breakfasts. Asked for refunds to have to wait another 10 minutes whilst looked for a card machine. Children upset as we're hungry and didn't understand why leaving. Very very disappointed. Should of been told as soon as we ordered had no bread. Not 45 minutes later. Looking forward to a family Sunday morning breakfast out

I went in and was told it would be 15 mins to get 2 coffees to take away as they were very busy. I looked and asked if this was due to the 6 coffees they had lined up to complete. They said yes. I commented that I found that a bit surprising but okay. I went outside and waited 25 mins. Went in again and they still hadn’t done it. A new girl had joined and was lovely. The other girl who had been so reluctant to help earlier was already doing the next order and ignoring mine. The new girl started mine only for her to be told to start the next order. I intervened and asked that someone just did my coffees. The new girl was very apologetic and sweet and she did my coffees only for one of them (a latte) to have an inch of liquid and the rest foam. I asked for it to be rectified - to be fair she offered to remake but I had people waiting on the river bank so said please just add milk. She did. As I turned to walk out the other girl who had been there from the beginning mumbled some comments about me. I suggested she wait until I left the cafe to moan about me. I will travel quite for for decent coffee. I will never go back here. Horrible customer service. A shame because it had a good atmospherics and look about it.

Travelled to Hereford and made a booking here for a Friday evening. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the booking at short notice, for reasons outside of my control, and the staff were very professional and understanding. I hope to get a chance to visit soon.

Was told when I rang up that they still done the noodles and still had a different menu from the left bank. To be disappointed when we got there and it was the same menu throughout the left bank. We stayed for our meal anyway, there was 6 of us 3 meals came but came, with out cutlery to wait another 8/10 mins for the other meals and cutlery. Meals where cold as they had to be brought from the left bank upstairs and across the seating area out side and it was a cold evening. Asked for sauces only got ketchup and didn’t receive the other dipping sauce we asked for. It was also cold in there as the door would be open for food and staff going in and out.

Thought it would be nice to sit outside on a crisp October lunchtime to make the most of the sunshine. First impressions weren’t good. The tables outside were mostly all covered with previous customers’ cups, glasses and dishes. We sat on the end of one of the tables and my husband ordered two hot drinks at the counter inside. It took 40 minutes for them to arrive. In all that time, nobody cleared the dirty crockery from the tables, although a couple of staff members did come outside twice and look around. There were plenty of staff inside, so I don’t know why the service was so bad. It’s a shame. This used to be quite a nice place, but I don’t think I will bother again.

This is the sort of place that you can hang around in all day if you have the time, we wanted to find a Riverside cafe that was dog friendly and this was better than we were expecting to find. Outside fire, undercover outdoor seating. Cake was nice.

The place is extremely attractive because of unusual place on the side of the river just near the bridge,furthermore I did enjoy the fireplace outdoor,where you an sit with the family or friends and enjoy time even in a cold weather but you won't get cold as fireplace get you warm.

Always worth calling in for a spot of lunch. A good menu and selection of drinks. They make serious efforts to cater for all tastes. Ordering via the Left Bank app can be exciting, otherwise, just call into the indoor bar area and place your order. The venue is on the left bank of the river Wye giving excellent views of the river life. Watching the changing seasons float passed is quite relaxing too. We have always found the staff to be both helpful and cheerful.

Fantastic location that overlooks the amazing view of the river. Very large terrace where you can take a seat and enjoy your meal/drinks in the circle of your family or friends. But the paramount of importance is the firepits, which always get you warm in any kind of weather and will make you feel comfortable as at home. Food tastes differ but enjoyable 😉

The steak arrived already sliced. Quite a small steak for the money, my friend didn’t really like it, but the sauce for it was just super. I ordered myself a classic burger. I would like it to be hot, piping hot, so to speak. But it was still delicious. Just a classic burger, nothing extra! The service is excellent. A very beautiful and atmospheric establishment. Candles on the tables, fresh flowers! Romance!

The staff were all very pleasant, chatty and friendly. They were happy for us to park our motorbikes on the ‘driveway’ which is really convenient. Cappuccinos were lovely and the carrot & pistachio cake fabulous. The patio is huge and right by the river, allowing for a pleasant time watching the world go by.

The Art gallery is a place you must absolutely go. I would recommend The Oasis - an Art gallery to everyone.

This is a lovely, friendly safe place. Only had coffee and cake but had great service. Feels pleasantly alternative. Recommend.

Best part is it's next to the river. Live music and an open courtyard.

Food wasn't hot when it reached our table, any cooler & I would have returned it. Shame as it was a nice meal & would have been excellent if it had been up to temperature.
