After a walk on the hills with my brother and girlfriend, we came to the Chase Inn for lunch. This was our first visit here so were not sure what to expect. I have to say that this is one of the best all round experiences I have had for a few years. It is a comfortable albeit bijou pub restaurant tucked away in the Malvern Hills. The menu is limited but there is certainly something for everyone. My brother hade Chilli Con Carne with rice and chips, my girlfriend had Ham, Egg and chips and I had a Double Burger, Chips and Coleslaw. We all enjoyed our food which was well cooked and very tasty. My brother is quite food fussy but delighted in the chilli, commenting how flavoursome it was. The chips also had an extra something which I found delicious. Overall the food was excellent and, with two bottles of spring water and a pint of larger shandy, came to a reasonable £54. The staff were absolutely delightful and deserve a special thank you. A well earned 5 stars.

This pub is amazing for its beautiful garden and beers but we decided to have lunch for a change and were very disappointed. The chips were mostly burnt and they forgot the peas that were supposed to be with the scampi and chips..They must have been having a bad day! They didn't come back to check if we were happy with the meal so we left without complaining but won't bother eating there again.

I visited The Chase Inn twice in June/July for Sunday lunch and to see the summer music sessions. I was served quickly by welcoming and friendly staff, and we didn't have to wait long for food or drinks on both visits. They do great veggie/vegan options for Sunday dinner (I have enjoyed both the nut roast and the veggie sausage casserole and they were both 10/10) and the kitchen staff are great at accommodating dietary requirements… Music was also amazing, had everyone signing along and fit the vibe of the pub perfectly. The beer garden view and atmosphere is second to none. And most importantly the beer selection is excellent🍻 Thank you for having us - would recommend to anyone visiting the Malverns :-)

Headed to the Chase Inn for Sunday lunch very recently and whilst I don't usually give reviews felt I had to this time as the food was fantastic, perfectly cooked, fresh and presented with pride, the ale was delicious (good cellar skills) and the reception from Tess, Robyn and others couldn't have been more welcoming. What a cracking little pub, bags of character, great ales (plus ciders, lager I noted), friendly people and being perched high up on the Malvern Hills, also superb views across Herefordshire from the beer garden. What more do you need! Our dogs were also made just as welcome :-) Give it a go ..... the best pub on the hills I say

Hadnt eaten here for a couple years but had heard some really good things about the food recently so decided to give it a go with a few friends and wow! What an amazing roast dinner! Everything was cooked to perfection and there were clean plates all round. We were all incredibly satisfied, really well done chef! I cannot reccommend this place enough, with the gorgeous garden, fantastic food, and amazing service there is truly something for everyone!

Incredible meal from this little quiet ( it was a Wednesday! ) pub . Apparently the chef is new .. his food was outstanding! I ordered the Cheeseburger.. it was delicious 😋! The chips were homemade, with their skins on, piping hot, salty and gorgeous! Salad and slaw also great! Went with my elderly parents who ordered their meals, smaller portions and some special requests.. All the food arrived together.. and was perfect! The gentleman behind the bar was friendly and helpful too . Drinks, food, service 10/10 !

Myself and my partner came for dinner while on our holiday, and couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to have dinner. The menu is extensive and even has a vegan option on each course offered. We were v excited and hungry so had! I had ham, egg, and chips, and my partner had the beef burger. A highlight for me was that you could get a side portion of scampi and tartare sauce- more pubs should offer this what an excellent idea!! Also the chips are homemade and they were some of the best we’ve ever had! The pub was lovely and warm, and the staff were friendly and kind. Really lovely evening, thanks very much

With a friendly welcome and cheery locals in the lovely bar. An array of board and parlour games will keep you there for ages, trying the interesting local beers and ciders. It's not often I'm so impressed that I rush to my keyboard to write a Trip Advisor review, but in this case, it's entirely justified. I've been visiting the Chase for years, and have always enjoyed it, but on Thursday night, 5th of October, everything was just perfect. I went with my daughter and granddaughter, and we were greeted with warm smiles and welcomes from the bar staff. (You don't get that much these days). As always, there was a gentle, relaxing and 'homely' atmosphere. I noticed they had Reverend James beer on tap - a pint from the past, and it was gorgeous! We didn't have to wait long for our meals - my daughter had a pulled pork roll, my granddaughter had scampi and chips, and I had a huge slice of home made steak and ale pie, drowning in a pool of rich, delicious gravy. The side portions of vegetables and chips were perfectly cooked and more than generous. I stole one or two scampi portions when my granddaughter wasn't looking, and they were amazing too. Suffice to say, that my wife wants to go back with me next time, to sample that steak and ale pie! Well done to the chef and staff at The Chase! Please don't ever change a thing - you've got it spot on!

Every venue/ whatever starts with 5*! We had regularly visited the Chase between 2016 and 2021 when we moved away. Definitely a ****+ for us. Lovely couple running it, fabulous scenery from the patio, well kept bear and lovely food. Today, we detoured specifically to visit for old times' sake; it appears the Chase is under new management. . Welcoming friendly staff. . Still a good beer. But: the food has really gone downhill. Two issues today, first off one meal we ordered from the menu turned from bear battered scampi to backed scampi with cajun sauce on salad. We did query and the waitress admitted there was a typo on the menu and kindly offered to get some battered scampi. Not good really as the rest of us had got our meals already. secondly, and this is the really dodgy bit, the food was really bad, I'm not a picky person and have never returned a meal, they really need to employ someone who can cook. I had fish and chips, most of which were inedible due to gross overcooking of both the fish and the chips. No excuse for this, they weren't even particularly busy (maybe word has got around). Really, really disappointing meal for us all.

This was just a quick lunchtime (snack!) visit having chosen the pub for the view presented on the website! Sandwich, whitebait and cheesy chips were all pleasant. The garden is reached via a narrow and slightly uninviting pathway around the side of the pub, making it a bit of a trek to go the the bar or use facilities. They do however bring food outside once you've ordered. The views are extensive from the upper terrace of the garden area.

As lovely as this little pub is with stunning views we booked a table for 10 people for Sunday lunch at 12.30 to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday. One of the first to arrive we ordered lunch. Just over one hour and forty minutes later we were still waiting for service! Food finally arrived the meat varied. A couple of small roast potatoes only on a couple of plates with no yorkshire puddings on two plates (they had ran out!). Vegetables quickly blanched so extremely hard, we couldn't cut through the broccoli and parsnips. We were not charged for this disaster of a birthday Sunday lunch but they should be better organised. If they have reserved tables they should be given priority and not serve people first who have not booked.

We were greeted warmly, & shown to our seat, ordered what we wanted & waited & waited - 45minutes for our food to arrive. I had steak & ale pie which was swimming in gravy (a jug would be better) the food was extremely salty, the pie crust like rock. The gravy in the pie was congealed, & the chips overcooked. Not a very pleasant experience. My husband had cajan chicken ciabatta which again was salty.. No-one came & asked if our meal was ok.

Lovely traditional pub with great beer and stunning evening sunset views outside in the garden. We found the sister pubs of the Swan at Newland and Nags Head - where we eat regularly- were far more generous with the food portion size. My husband’s roast belly pork meal came with just two tiny new potatoes. No more potatoes were available when asked but they did give him some chips. We will definitely return for a lovely evening drink. Worth noting evenibg meals are served Thursday to Saturday only.,

Food finally turns up at 9:05 food wasn’t even what we ordered and was cold. The meat was chewy and dry we ordered chicken and lamb and one of them was all chicken apart from one piece of lamb. The chips were cold to the point it was like eating cardboard. Complete waste of time and money.
