This is an excellent restaurant and very good value for money. The kitchen is viewed from the tables and is well run. The college has come up with something innovative involving all the students in all roles and it works. The food was of high quality and extremely well cooked and presented. Reasonably priced and good selection of choices for each course. Drink costs are lower than average. Highly recommended.

This is the second time that we have eaten in The Ballroom restaurant at Hoar Cross Hall Like any restaurant, all three of the crucial elements need to be right for it to be considered exceptional, the food, the ambiance and the quality of the service The Ballroom at Hoar Cross Hall cannot be faulted, excellent food, beautifully prepared and presented, served by charming, attentive and knowledgeable staff in a magnificent setting

Our favourite restaurant in Burton! We came in for a drink & didn’t book. They found us a table & we ordered two cocktails! Used to love coming to bear for food but my last couple of visits have been mediocre to say the least. Veggie breakfast this morning came out without halloumi (the main centre piece to a veggie breakfast) no communication that this would be the case. Spoke with a member of staff who thought they may have run out the previous day. Told a delivery had arrived and they would prepare some. I had to asked for the rest of the breakfast to be returned to the kitchen to keep warm.. the results a Luke warm (clearly been sat out on the side) breakfast with an overcooked poached egg. For £13.90 I'll be going else where in town for my breakfast.

I visited today with my Grandchildren. We were made very welcome with delicious hot chocolate. The staff greeted us immediately and took our order within a couple of minutes. Very friendly. Thank you

It was a very enjoyable quiz night.

Been looking for a good local chippy. Fish freshly cooked to order. Chips and batter were crisp and not soggy. Large haddock is really big! All really tasty! We will be back!

Sunday lunch - one pork and one turkey . Every morsel was perfect . Lovely gentle and kind waitress . Delicious treacle sponge pudding . They were very busy even at 3pm. And no wonder - the food and ambience here is fabulous . Thank you .

We came to stay in Dovedale for the weekend and were very fortunate to have called into the Coach and Horses for lunch on the way to the hotel. We ended coming back for dinner that night and the next night too. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was absolutely amazing which was what made us come back again the second evening. Lovely open fires on a cold night added to the ambience and the cosy setting and if we are ever visiting the area again we will definitely be returning.

Went for a Sunday dinner here in November and it was mediocre, as was the service however it was a new offering and team. We decided to give it another go yesterday and it was great, the dry aged Sirloin was absolutely amazing, Would have given a 5 but still small room for improvement, serve the gravy separately and a cauliflower cheese? My starter was lovely and the service was excellent. Booked for next week as local businesses deserve support particularly when they are offering such good food.
