The best restaurants serving British food in East Staffordshire West Midlands

Haven't been in a while but an almost perfect menu for me, good quality produce, well cooked and looked after perfectly by the students. Brilliant value for money. We will be back.

This is the second time that we have eaten in The Ballroom restaurant at Hoar Cross Hall Like any restaurant, all three of the crucial elements need to be right for it to be considered exceptional, the food, the ambiance and the quality of the service The Ballroom at Hoar Cross Hall cannot be faulted, excellent food, beautifully prepared and presented, served by charming, attentive and knowledgeable staff in a magnificent setting

I've not rated the rooms as we didn't stay overnight, but had Sunday lunch and it was excellent. Serving staff were attentive, pleasant and polite at all times and the food was delicious, with a good choice on the menu too. Having a pianist playing gently in the background was a nice touch too, but staff must be mindful what music they put on when the pianist finishes as not all tracks were in keeping with the atmosphere and setting. (A small point, but worth mentioning) All in all, a lovely meal and we'll definitely be back again.

When we stay at St Georges Park, England training ground - this is where we go for an evening meal. The food is delicious, the hospitality is brilliant and the beer from the microbrewery is fabulous. If we could run a pipe from the microbrewery to St Georges our stay would be perfect. I would recommend a visit and to book your table. We ate quite late due to matches and training and the home made pizzas were all gobbled up but any food on the menu is recommended. There is a problem easily accessing the web site but don't be deterred.

i came into Helen’s not too long ago as i love the food. I always have the breakfasts and free coffee before half 9 which is my go to. I was served by a lovely young girl but i find food is always missing off my breakfasts and service from others has always felt rushed. She apologised about my food and it was fixed. When i went to the till, an older woman asked if food was okay and i said yes if an item hadn’t been missed which she then proceeds to ask me to leave a kind review because i liked the food ? Will still be returning as i am a loyal customer but please sort this.

Love this place. Great selection of ales. Friendly atmosphere. Unpretentious local hub of the community. I love perusing the menu on the board and discussing options with other punters. All part of the fun. Never strangers for long

Me and a group of friends came to this lovely establishment for a drink. How wrong we were to do so. When we arrived, things seemed to start off normal: we got in, got drinks, and sat down. We engaged in conversation for a while until another one of our friends arrived. He went inside to get himself and another one of our friends a drink, bearing in mind that we had been asked to show ID when we purchased them, and was declined the ability to buy two drinks at once because they needed to show ID alongside him. First red flag. Around 10–15 minutes later, another one of our friends turned up with an unopened Celsius™ energy drink, and before he could even make it properly to the table to greet us, the landlord of this lovely establishment came rushing out to inform him that this drink could not be on site and must be removed promptly. My friend, politely, stated that he would not open it and it was simply for afterward. This was not good enough, and the landlord stated so. We put the drink outside of the establishment’s beer garden and left it at that. When my friend, who had just put his Celsius™ energy drink outside of the establishment, went inside to get a drink, the landlord was staring at us on the security camera as if we were going to do something wrong. The only thing that we did wrong was go to The Plough. This place is in desperate need of new management, and the landlord is in desperate need of some lessons in grace and decorum because he has about as much as a reversing dump truck without any wheels. Good day.

Beautiful food, carefully prepared, skilled presentation, fresh quality ingredients, superb attention to detail, delicious flavours, relaxing atmosphere, attentive staff. Try the tapas - it is all amazing. Best restaurant in Burton and the surrounding area. Thank you !

Breakfast with family. large breakfast £8 all items hot and cooked well fried bread excellent. Coffee really good. Seems popular for lunch menu.

Last week we had our wedding reception at Confessions. We used the full day hire package which meant we had access to the venue from 10am. Confessions is an absolutely stunning and unique venue which ticks all the boxes, all of our guests including us loved it. Hannah and Lucie were amazing in the whole run up to the event, from the first time enquiring Hannah was so welcoming and nothing was too much to ask for! In the few weeks before Lucie would check in to make sure we were okay and needed anything else ready for the day! We can't thank them enough for ensuring our day ran smoothly even when we areived earlier than expected from our ceremony they were ready for us! We used their resident DJ recommended by Hannah and they were fantastic! The music choices they made from reading the room we fab and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you so much to the Confessions team for making our day so amazing!🤍

Told I couldn't order for 2 hours n told to get out. Dont deserve a business

Used to love coming to bear for food but my last couple of visits have been mediocre to say the least. Veggie breakfast this morning came out without halloumi (the main centre piece to a veggie breakfast) no communication that this would be the case. Spoke with a member of staff who thought they may have run out the previous day. Told a delivery had arrived and they would prepare some. I had to asked for the rest of the breakfast to be returned to the kitchen to keep warm.. the results a Luke warm (clearly been sat out on the side) breakfast with an overcooked poached egg. For £13.90 I'll be going else where in town for my breakfast.

Good coffee, fab granola, Greek yog and berry compote, lovely staff, highly recommend

first time trying cods corner today, amzing food and great service. kids loved the fried oreos!!! fish was amazing, we will defo be back!

Pub is closed. Tenants ran off with deposits from event bookings.
