The Roebuck Inn in East Staffordshire

Has a separate vegan section on the menu, with well planned dishes. The vegan cottage pie is beautiful, served with veggies. Chocolate & orange tart for dessert was also yummy. I liked the fact some thought had been put onto the vegan options…. It wasn’t just falafel which a lot of non vegan places resort to (I hate falafel now 😂) Friendly service and my dog was welcome

This place is an unfound haven, me and my partner visited on the way back from a corporate event. Steve, showed me around the onsite brewery explaining the whole process. We enjoyed some nice home made lagers and a bite to eat, very clean, especially the toilets, the gent's are in a Only Fools and Horses theme with artwork and the series playing in the background! This is a must go to venue, staff are very helpful and polite. FULLY RECCOMEND 5*'s

Fish and chips not great ,batter burnt,chips more like French fries,drew attention of waitress supplied side dish to put burnt bits in ,was told had eaten most of fish my mistake should have sent whole plate back

We were taken to the Roe Buck whilst visiting friends. What can I say but wow what a fantastic meal we had. 3 courses for £16. Great choice and very tasty. The staff were excellent and wasn't made to feel rushed. It was so good we went again. Won't hesitate to go again when in the area.

While touring around we spotted this pub first impression was looks great from the outside as it was when we entered, asking the lady behind the bar could we have a table for five reply "Have you booked" stand back book for lunch?? No, we had we were passing by and thought the pub looked nice however we were lucky and were squeezed in before going to our table drinkies three cokes, a red and one of the nicest pints for awhile brewed on site in the Roebuck brewery mmmm. So onto to lunch we all decided we would go the whole thing and ordered starters and mains, personally I had Prawn cocktail, home made steak/stilton pie we declined pudding because we were to full!! The prawn cocktail was the biggest ever I have seen on a bed of crispy lettuce the steak pie was a laaarge slice packed with steak not like some where there maybe the odd lump of chewy steak this was to die for. My friends meals were of equal quality as I have said pudding was a total no even so seeing what other tables had they must have been superb. We all travel about quite a bit for the drinks and meals the price was outstanding we were not ripped off like some chains, the ladies serving were lovely so polite and helpful in choosing. A slight change of direction a really cute little girl called Orla approx, 5yrs had been very creative by decorating stones and slate which you could have for a small amount. We had spotted her with some on another table where some ladies gave her some money after eating we all hoped she would come to us but no, settling up I asked about her, soon she appeared with a lovely selection so we all had one, thanks Orla for the big smile XX So folks head to Draycot on Clay and stop at the Roebuck, super recommended by five of us, thanks everyone at the Roebuck.

Excellent in every way, can't fault the service or food. And a wonderful touch having hairspray, deodorant and nail varnish remover (random) in the ladies, hand cream would be nice too 😊. We'll definitely be making this place our go to enroute from Dad visits. We had him with us this time and the Lasagne was the best he's ever had and he's had hundreds. Hubby was very impressed with the Liver (yuk), bacon and mash and home brewed beer. My seabass with prawns and lemon butter was spot on. A warm welcome set us up for what was a lovely night. Great varied menu with a good set of vegetarian options. There were 9 of us and we all enjoyed our food. Special mention to Honor who looked after us so well all night. Thank you.

Amazing food i had cheesy mushrooms and my husband had mozzarella sticks for starters. Took my Mum here for her birthday, and we visited during the daytime so had the option of the lunchtime menu. The service was fast and the staff were very polite and professional. All courses came out quickly, and the food was hot and exceptional, can’t praise the chef enough!! Extreme good value for money too. Will definitely visit again, as the menu selections include traditional dishes too. Fantastic, well done to the Roebuck staff !

Large menu with so many classic dishes. So good it was difficult to choose. We wanted to eat them all. Service was impeccable, friendly and top notch. Food was amazing. My husband had fish and chips, came with mushy peas and the homemade tartar sauce must of been good because he ate it all and doesn't particularly like tartar sauce.I had liver, lovely and tender, bacon was thick cut and mash swapped for chips, no problem. Good selection of veg. For afters, bread and butter pudding, it was superb. The restaurant has lovely decor and was immaculately clean . The toilets also immaculate and had lovely touches, bodyspray, hair spray and hand cream. A lovely touch and so nice to see. All in all this place cannot be faulted. Food, service, cleanliness all 5*

The staff at The Roebuck were absolutely amazing! After breaking down near by, the fabulous staff well and truly looked after me while I was waiting to be rescued. I was treated to a lovely fresh baguette and a amazing fresh coffee while I tried to warm back up again! I will be booking a table in the near future.

Regulars here, and with no surprise. If we could give 10 out of 5 we would ! Food fab, staff fab, value fab. You will not go far wrong at The Roebuck.

My friends and I always choose the Roebuck when meeting for lunch, it’s such a great pub. Lovely decoration, great food and menu choice but above all, superb friendly service.

Such a stunning place and amazing staff that couldn't do enough. We went for my husbands grandparents anniversary, we had Sunday dinner and one of the 10 of us wanted scampi and chips. The cook was more than happy to do as I made sure I pre ordered so the cook had plenty of notice, as I know its a very popular pub. We was over the moon extra portions of veg and gravey on offer. Also Christine was our waitress very polite and went above and bend. Everyone enjoyed the meats and veg and the Yorkshire puds where so delicious. The starter are amazing I have cheesy mushrooms and they where so creamy. The puddings where to die for. The experience was fantastic definitely returning. Thanks to all the team.

Not normally one for reviews but the service received here was well worth a mention. Christine was absolutely amazing from start to finish, paying particular attention to my 2 little girls who commented on how kind she was. Staff were having a…..let’s say “testing” time with another large table but all managed to keep their cool and remain professional. Food was lovely and quick to get to the table. We didn’t feel rushed even though staff were busy. Good choice of food and drinks. Puddings delicious! We will definitely be back. Thank you Christine and the rest of the team!

Disappointed with lunch, on a Saturday. My friend had a half cold curry and I had a chewy beef sandwich, with low quality bread, no butter, thrown together, without the triangles even being cut properly, a afew chips and salad, really not worth £10. Service was quick and friendly but staff did try to take away our plates 3 times whilst my friend was still eating part of her meal. It made us feel rushed. So all in all won’t be in any hurry to return.

Popped in yesterday on the way through to another meeting. Looked absolutely stunning outside and fair to see it’s the same inside. The on site brewed IPA is possibly the nicest I have ever tasted. Only popping in for a drink k but glad we decided to have some food. It was delicious. The h last that greeted and served us was also fabulous we will be coming again and recommending.

We came here a few years ago snd there was nothing vegan on the menu so i called up the week before and the cook/owner went to great lengths to find out what i would like, when i arrived there was a fantastic mezze laid out. This time a very different experience, my son booked on line so didn't understand there are two dining areas, we were in thd new extension which is souless and bland, devoid of atmosphere but this wasn't the pubs fault. ( maybe take the christmas decs down and dim the lights?) There are now a very limited vegan options, i ordered sausage and mash, it was hot but very dry, sausages very over cooked, best part was the veg but altogether tasteless. The 3 stars are for the staff, which were very nice. It is so easy to do great homemade vegan food, such a shame they have put vegan foid on the menu as an afterthought.

Consistently good food service and Porter highly recommended we visit this venue on a monthly basis and van say that in our opinion the very best in a radius of 10 Miles of Burton

We visited this pub 6 months ago during the lockdown and experienced the amazing pizzas in the marquee in the car park. The service was great and the food was delicious, so we had come back.We booked 2 tables for the families and kids and to be completely honest our expectations were more than exceeded!! I think the food quality has even improved and the service was unbelievable!! This really is a place to have great food, great service and have fun. The landlady came to our table and introduced herself as well as checking that everything was okay. Her personality exudes through the food and service!! As a house with 6 tenants with learning disabilities, myself and a co worker brought them to this lovely pub which I visit in my own time also. Staff were very friendly and considerate of the 6 tenants and had patience to ask and listen to what they wanted to eat and drink. After the tenants had finished their lunches they had desserts. All the tenants were very happy with the food, staff and the way they were treated. They have all said they would like to go again on a monthly day out lunch. I would just like to say thank you on behalf of these 6 people to everybody who works at this lovely pub for their hospitality and friendly interaction. In a world that's hard enough for people with learning disabilities to have them shown so much respect is truly amazing. Good job guys, we will be back.

Well myself and my husband visited here on Monday evening and what a welcome, all the staff were very helpful, friendly and always there to offer help and advice on the new social distancing rules.The food was absolutely beautiful I had the Cheesy Mushrooms which were delicious, as for the homemade pie it was amazing.This place has got everything spot on from food to the beer which is brewed onsite in their own brewery.Thanks again to all the staff for making us feel so welcome we will definitely be visiting you again soon.

We were looking for an outdoor pub or restaurant to have a small wedding reception meal at after our wedding. With the restrictions we weren’t allowed to do anything inside our wedding venue. From the moment we called the roebuck they were so accommodating. They went above and beyond bringing in their own decorations, nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived they had set up a welcome party with champagne, decorated the tables, made name plates and much more. They even created a cake table and had placed our wedding cake there on display. The food was so good and everyone loved it. The staff were so friendly and constantly kept our drinks topped up. We really can’t say how amazing this place was, from the hairspray in the toilets for the ladies to the delicious food. Even with covid restrictions they made our day so special. We owe this place so much as they really made our wedding day. Thank you so much Roebuck and Jill!!

I attended a wedding reception here on Wednesday and with Covid restrictions (and the fact I’d never been here before as I’m not from the area) I hadn’t expected much. How wrong I was, Gill and the team looked after the whole party with the greatest care and attention every little detail was cared for and even went above and beyond by taking photos of the whole party without us asking. Nothing was to much trouble. Then came the food which was all home made freshly cooked deliciousness. Every course was excellent and non of us could fault a thing it really capped off a wonderful day for us. I don’t live in the uk any more, but next time I come back I will definitely be visiting them again and I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering giving them a try. Well worth the effort.My wife and I love trying the pubs and restaurants in the area and sampling what they serve up for lunch. Ultimately the establishment gets a ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’. A thumbs down means we will not revisit. The Roebuck gets a definite thumbs up even if it is an 36 mile round drive from home.It ticks all our boxes: great service, hot, freshly cooked food without a long wait, reasonably priced and a nice place to sit. Nothing to fault here. Even parking is easy and Covid instructions easy to follow. In context we eat out twice a week and have tried pubs and restaurants all over Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The Roebuck now figures in our top 5.

Went for a meal on Friday night with my wife. we were very pleased with the safety side when we arrived with plenty of hand sanitiser around. we were met and shown to our table. drinks were then served and we chose our meal. Everything we had was excellent and well presented. the staff were friendly and helpful and we had a fantastic time.

Went here with a voucher gifted by friends. The steak was fine and usual fare - I had fish pie. Yes it was home made but basically just a big dish of mash with a few bits of grey fish cut into 1 cm cubes and three of the tiniest ‘prawns ‘ less than 1 cm in size. Definitely not worth the price. Should be like £2. When I eat out it’s always nice if it’s better than you make at home. Fish pie is not expensive to make. I only suggest visiting if you want steak n chips. The staff were nice and efficient. The bar area seemed very popular The restaurant is incredibly dark at night and a bit soulless.

Today was no exception it felt extremely covid safe and we were served by Theo and he was so lovely and helpful he is a credit to your team . My friends and I visited the Roebuck for an evening meal on a Wednesday night recently and the whole experience was superb.The food was absolutely delicious and clearly homemade, plus all staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even though they were clearly quite busy. Having been a chef for 30 years I’m rather selective where I eat steve and I had lunch today at the Roebuck and the pate starter was great, mains one beef, one turkey, succulent and tender piping hot veg, delicious gravy,homemade Yorkshire puddings and desserts to die for. Excellent from start to finish with attentive staff and spotlessly clean surroundings thanks to you all you deserve a pat on the back.

lovely looking pub very nice decor friendly servers but the sunday lunch was poor,very basic and bland my husbands beef was like rubber he couldn't even cut into it the veg was very undercooked the starters were nice but the bread used for the prawn cocktail and the pate was so thin and flimsy it was hard to hold it overall very disappointed we should of complained but we didn't so that's on us

We visited for Sunday lunch and was really impressed with the COVID safety precautions. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table. The tables were all nicely spaced out and there was a bottle of hand gel on every table. It was really reassuring to see the staff thoroughly wiping the tables down after customers had left, along with wiping down the salt and pepper pots and the even the bottle of hand gel itself. We felt really safe and looked after.The food was really good value (£16 for 3 courses) and was exceptional quality. The roast was served with potatoes, trimmings and a bowl of lovely fresh veg which contained SEVEN different vegetables! My husband loves real ale so he had 3 third pints of the various ales that had been brewed on the premises - this is great for trying several before deciding which one to order a full pint of.Really recommend The Roebuck for a traditional Sunday lunch. The staff are lovely and gave fantastic service - nothing was too much trouble. I really want to commend the owners and the staff for making us feel safe on the premises and for giving fabulous service! Thank you so much - we will be back.

Lovely cosy pub feel to the place, staff were all very friendly and service was great. The toilets were super clean and they had a great system In place to ensure social distancing was happening. Starters were all lovely. Burgers were a bit dry but everything else was great.
