Had our wedding ceremony & reception here on the 7th September, and Hannah and her team couldn’t have been more amazing. We had such a beautiful day, relaxed with no stress because everything was just under control. Our entire guest list are still raving about how beautiful the venue is & how amazing the day was. If I was to get married again, I’d 100% choose confessions xxxx

My sister got married and celebrated at confessions this weekend and it was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful venue and extremely accommodating! Hannah and her staff were all so lovely. We had a lovely little studio to get ready in and members of staff were checking on us bringing drinks, they were very quick with decorating and moving the room around to accommodate the ceremony and reception. There's a lovely bar and DJ booth in the venue, I would 100% recommend this venue and this team to anyone who is celebrating an occasion. really cannot emphasise the beauty of the building with gorgeous staircases and stained glass windows and I also cannot help but sing the praises of the wonderful staff who helped give my sister an amazing wedding day!! I can not fault Hannah and her team, nothing was too much for them. My son, his friends and our family all thoroughly enjoyed his 18th party and others have booked events after attending. The venue is stunning and Hannah's prefered list of supplies were excellent. Would love to have another event here in the future!

We chose this venue for my husband’s wake and what an amazing place it is! It’s such a beautiful building and full of character inside, it’s just stunning. Hannah went above and beyond to ensure that everything was exactly how we wanted it to be and we cannot thank her enough. We wanted festival themed and she put up bunting and other decorations we provided to make sure it had the right feel to it. Everything was just perfect and for that we are eternally grateful. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Confessions in December and it was the most perfect experience. The staff were so attentive from the moment we booked to after the big day, no request or question was to small or silly! We loved the fact we could do whatever we wanted for our day, from Domino's pizza for food to our 3 crazy fur babies coming along! They even delayed putting the Christmas tree up as my partner didn't want it for the big day. We cannot thank Hannah and the team enough for helping give us such a great and seamless experience!🩷x

We have used many venues over the years to host different events but confessions has been the best by a long shot. Not just the building it’s self but the staff, and everything that goes alongside that have been second to none. The attention to detail in listening to our every request was met without fail or questioning. This is a venue that serves so many purposes for so many events. We will definitely be back for future events. Thank you so much.

I had a 30th birthday party at Confessions and would highly recommend both the venue as well as Hannah and her team. The venue was set up perfectly when I arrived (lovely lighting including fairy lights, drapes around the room and big 30 light-ups) and Hannah ensured the evening ran smoothly so that I could relax and enjoy my evening with friends and family. Hannah recommended and booked a DJ for me in line with my age/taste and they were perfect. Drinks/cocktails were also important to me and the bar was stocked with everything my guests wanted, drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were great. The building/venue is a hidden gem and I'm so glad I discovered it!

Well, what a hidden gem we found to host our post wedding celebration. The venue was stunning and all our guests commented on how beautiful it was. Hannah went above and beyond to make sure our evening went smoothly, the bar staff were excellent and the doormen were friendly but professional. Hannah suggested our DJ Errol as she felt that he was best suited to our age range and this was reflected in the number of positive comments we received from our guests. Our wedding at Confessions was perfect for us. Hannah and her staff are amazing before during and after. Beautiful historic venue with character and charm. Great venue for an 18 birthday party black tie event we had. Hannah and her team were great all through the planning stage, and fantastic on the evening itself.

We had lots of meetings and she was always on the end of the phone or email for any queries we had. We also had a lovely night stay at the unicorn in newton solney which will always be a special place for us to return to for our anniversary. Great venue attended an evening wedding reception..probably not big enough for very large weddings. Think just a venue.and disco and food and decor is your own choice. So optional. Would reccomend.

We booked Confessions for my husband's 40th birthday party and not only do we highly rate this venue but we had several guests tell us how stunning they thought the place was. I couldn't have asked for more from Hannah the manager - all her outside service recommendations were fantastic and she went out of her way so that the day of the party was stress-free for me and the party itself went without a hitch. This party was up there with our wedding on the importance scale and our only regret is that this venue wasn't around when we did get married! Lovely place and would hire again in the future with any other big celebrations.

My son had his 40th Birthday party here it’s a lovely room It’s was a fantastic night the DJ read the room and had us all dancing the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble We are off back to Yorkshire tomorrow but will definitely tell my friends if they are ever in Burton to check it out

We hired the main room for our daughters 18th birthday party. From the initial enquiry with Hannah everything was dealt with in a professional, friendly and efficient manner. We were able to visit in advance to discuss options, layout and how the night would work. Hannah gave options for catering, disco and additional lighting which were all agreed and organised for the night. On the evening the room looked fantastic. All staff were friendly and quick with no log queues at the bar, even for cocktails. The DJ arranged by Hannah was great and played age specific music to match those there which resulted in a brilliant 18th birthday celebration for my daughter that everyone will remember. I would highly recommend using Hannah at Confessions for any special event you are considering. Thank you for making it a night to remember

Amazing venue for any special occasion. From start to finish dealing with Hannah at Confessions was stress free, she is there to help with any questions. You can basically hire the venue and do as you please with it to a point. On the day of the party Hannah put out my table decor and balloons for me and was also on hand at the venue at night. The bar staff were excellent. i would highly recommend this venue

Beautiful venue, decorated in keeping of the history of the building to keep its character. Amazingly unique place that is memorable and has all guests commenting! An absolute hidden gem in central burton! Staff are attentive, ensure all goes to plan and really professional. Whatever you ask or require is never too much, I would highly recommend confessions events and will be having further parties there in the future!

The most INCREDIBLE venue hire, definitely the best in Burton. Lovely size for a private event, gorgeous building, super helpful and professional staff … and they make lovely cocktails! Couldn’t have been happier with our three days of using this venue for an art exhibition, will definitely hire Confessions again in the future.

Truly disappointed. I used to love this little cafe, great food and coffee served by staff who used to be willing to go above and beyond. It’s a shame to see the place take a drastic turn recently, poor management is showing. The menu change is great that’s if the chef is there to cook or been shopping. Many times I’ve gone recently to be told I can’t order food. I would understand if it was busy but it never is so serving your only customers should be priority. I used to love coming here but I never will again, it’s a shame my wife and son would have meetings with clients here but after being disappointed week after week none of us will be returning. Never in our 6 months of coming in had we received problems like this. The staff are no longer as happy and helpful which also shows, and the new management is proving lazy and incapable... Please do something about this, I’m not the first and won’t be the last

I was on my way to get some lunch with my girlfriend and spotted by luck this beautiful place, we walked in and was met with the most wonderful atmosphere so we sat down and had a coffee, to our surprise they sell local coffee made in Staffordshire. the staff were very polite and accommodating so we decided to in fact have lunch here, I had the steak sandwich and my girlfriend had the pork belly bites and we shared some halloumi chips and I have to say it was the most delicious food I have had in a very long time it was perfectly cook and well seasoned and just a real treat to find somewhere in burton that sells high quality food that isnt ridiculously expensive we will definitely be coming back and having some of your sharing platters as they look amazing thank you so much for a great experience 5 stars

I use Confessions in a weekly basis to work from as well as hold meetings. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the lunch is nice as well.

Used Confessions a couple of times to meet clients and get some work done when on the road. Clients love meeting there and always make a great latte. Upstairs hot desks are brilliant to get the work done.

Great service amazing location. Wonderful coffee. A true gem off the main road! Will be visiting again!

Great food great place for a drink and catch up

It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The quality of the customer service and the atmosphere were great. We ordered the vegan breakfast, which was very good . Great place , will definitely come again .

Visited The Trinity to check out the facilities to hold an event, what a great place, cafe, hot desk space and local businesses all under one roof. The developer has managed to keep some of the original church features including the stain glass windows. Well worth a visit for a coffee and a bite to eat. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

I feel good here,very good music, great atmosphere and quality service, quality staff and positive people you will meet inside,was some event and I ask if I can have a drink, a beer, in traveler clothes and I was welcome, I recommend this place,it is amazing

I have visited Confessions several times in 2019. One thing is always the same the staff are really helpful and friendly The atmosphere is great and I love the building its always a great place to meet candidates and clients I only usually have hot drinks but have eaten on a couple of occasions both times were enjoyable One time my business partner and I were asked to sample a spiced cake that was delicious Would recommend if your looking for a meeting place

I currently work within The Trinity building and use Confessions on a daily basis! The food is always so tasty and I am always excited to see what the special board has to offer! Super energetic Staff and always so efficient!

Spectacular setting. The food has potential, but they need to upgrade the ingredient quality, e.g. thin white sliced bread does not make for a great sausage sandwich. Service friendly, but slow.

I have visited Confessions several times in recent months and enjoyed light lunches, snacks and coffee... but on a recent morning visit I decided to have a breakfast sandwich. I was so impressed that I just HAD to write a review. I can't remember the last time that I ordered a bacon sandwich in a cafe and was asked 'How would you like your bacon cooked?'. This is what the staff member said and I was able to ask for crispy, well-cooked bacon. What a difference it made. The bacon sandwich was just how I like it. I also requested toasted brown bread and got the bonus of some tasty tomatoes in balsamic vinegar on my plate when it arrived. There was a generous amount of bacon and the service was swift and friendly. Freshly-cooked food, made just the way you like it. What's not to love? So while my crispy bacon sandwich (pictured) might not be to your taste.... you could ask for it your way.

Decided to try here based on reviews. Big mistake.Staff uninterested. Panini very poor, undercooked and absolutely no cheese present...basically 1/2 baguette filled with branston chutney. Not very busy, I know why!!! Will not return or recommend.

I would definitely recommend coming here I have been a few times and have always enjoyed great food and friendly service. I ordered Tangine off the weekly specials menu and it was absolutely delicious I was very impressed! The whole place is very chilled and the views of the church are stunning while you sit and eat your lunch or drink your coffee. It really is burtons hidden gem. I will be back soon!

Myself and my wife booked for an Afternoon Tea as a treat, and we decided to try Confessions due to recommendation from a friend.The setting is beautiful, and we couldnt have been more relaxed in this stunning former church. The service was great, both staff looked after us throughout the meal, and we even had a box to take away as we simply couldnt manage everything!Would definitely recommend

Confessions is a brilliant place to stop off for a coffee or a snack, I had an incredible burger which had an amazing melted cheese sauce.

FAB. Five of us converged here for lunch (three generations). Lovely menu. Gorgeous building. Hi-chair for grand-daughter. Two of us had turkey sandwiches (cranberry, stuffing) with chips. Teas and coffees. Daughter had the all-day breakfast - looked great. Son had soup + roll. Grand-daughter had what ever she demanded from all of our plates! Can't wait till next time. ROB

We visited the delightful Confessions Cafe today for our Christmas Lunch get together. The food was lovely, the staff are extremely friendly and the surroundings are gorgeous!

After a previous visit with the wife that she reviewed the manager got in touch.asked to pop in and discuss the visit. We are now pleased to say they listened to what we had to say and treated us to our lunch as a thank you. We are only to pleased to let everyone know how well we were treated and the food was great.

Ordered pannis we have never had pannis that were uncooked before ,we had a wilted salad had to ask for cutlery,I do not blame the waitress she had obviously had not been trained

12 of us went for an afternoon tea to celebrate my retirement and although the staff were lovely and attentive - but a little slow with drinks - it could not make up for the disappointing selection and amount of sandwiches. Each person was given half a bagel with a strange filling, one finger thickness ham sandwich and the same of cheese and pickle. There would not have been even half a slice of bread each. The scones were ok although quite small but the selection of cake was poor. On each cake stand there were two large pieces of carrot cake and one of chocolate cake. There were no dainty cakes you would normally expect of an afternoon tea. I would have given this a 2 rating if it were not for the lovely staff.

Popped in for afternoon tea while on a short visit to Burton on Trent, and came across Confessions which is tucked away on a side street off Station Street in Burton and located in an old church. The building still retains a lot of its original features indoors and out and as such, conveys a lot of character.

A really nice friendly café with good coffee and excellent service. A little out of the way but well worth taking the trouble to find

I recently discovered this café and it's a gem. Kristine is lovely. The location is very peaceful and spacious. The food is freshly prepared. The coffee is spot on. It's not Costa and it's not Starbucks. It's what a great coffee shop should be.

This was the 1st time we visited, we were very impressed, the building is stunning, very stylishly furnished to a high standard. Lots of the old church features remain. We met Steve the owner who was happy to show us round and talk, the Lady who served us was lovely and friendly. The food was well priced and obviously freshly made, good quality. We have already recommended to our friends, we have no hesitation in returning soon. Places like this are an asset to Burton and should be supported. Very well done Steve & team. I strongly recommend you visit soon.

A former non conformist chapel may not be everyone’s idea of a cafe- but this building has been sympathetically and tastefully refurbished. It really is a pleasing surprise.

This more than just a Coffee shop, there is a bar that serves all kinds of tasty cocktails and alcoholic beverages.

The atmosphere and ambience is quite remarkable in this beautiful old building lovingly refurbished to a very high standard. The welcome by very pleasant staff is wonderful and the food and drinks excellent from a very varied menu.

A totally unique location, and a real oasis of tranquility in the town centre. Fantastic service and food added to the great cafe experience.
